Palcemith. A kingdom blessed by the dragons.

I remembered this was the world in the game I had played in my previous world, [The Dragon and the Sacrificial Priestess]. But I had reincarnated as the Prime Minister Anderheim who would be led to ruin with his villainess daughter Julieta.

However, now that my memories have returned, I do not intend to give up that easily.

Making full use of my memories from my past life, with my daughter, let me show the capture targets how to turn the tables.

This is a good read. Nothing nerve-wracking.

I liked how unique it is in some places despite having the somewhat generic synopsis. Except for some violence and tw's (which I'm totally fine with) I really enjoyed the story and liked how it ends.

MC is not the OP heroic person and definitely not a good guy. More like a calculative man who gambles. Similar to the short novel "Seven Days as Villain", this bro right here is a villain.

I did not expect this at all. Very unconventional but weirdly irresistible read. Well-crafted and is a must read though not for the faint of heart. Please expect a devious and deliciously evil MC and tone to permeate the story. Some parts actually brought tears to my eyes and the ending was epic! Although there are parts that others would call 'plot holes', I think it's actually a strategic decision chosen by the author to leave it up in the air for us audience to speculate. I repeat, this does... more>> not follow typical storytelling. I cannot wait to read the sequel. I hope it's already been translated.

Side note: Kudos to the translator. It was well done and gave justice to the original work. <<less

I LOVED THIS SO MUCH, it was just a roller coaster of emotions through the whole thing but what I didn’t expect was just how hard it would hit me when it ended. Whoever said it was a HE ending, words can not describe how much I want to see what’s in your brain to make you think this is a happy ending. The ending can be interpreted in different ways for others but it was NOT A HAPPY ENDING in my personal opinion, it left me feeling empty and... more>> needing a sequel asap. I normally do not sob, however this single work made me cry more then I ever thought I would in this lifetime... what’s worse is I finished this book at a family gathering. Why did I do this you may ask? Honestly I couldn’t get my mind off of this book so I was like screw it, I wanna read this! Immediate regret. However they seriously asked if someone had just died, but no, to their astonishment it was just my heart shattering into pieces. However a disclaimer I have for those who want to read this is to LOOK AT THE TAGS AND TL NOTES FOR WARNINGS. The main plot involves heavy topics that may make you feel uncomfortable so read at your own discretion.

All jokes and warnings aside, this book is beautifully written, compelling characters and fantastic romance (I thought they were kidding when they said it has spicy scenes, so major bonus there.) I do have to say though that the romance did come out of nowhere, but not so surprising that it is unacceptable, I also had a hard time figuring out who the ML is in the first couple of chapters. The MC is one of my favorite protagonists now, I am always a sucker for anti-hero MCs and this one just takes the cake. I was also delighted to find out that that each side character feels 3d and how they aren’t just their to be in the mc’s shadow and designed just to make them look smarter. None of the side characters are forgettable and none of the characters have a dumb name, which I see way to often in novels. ALSO, for those who are just like me and looking for just a satisfying face-slapping, this is the one for you.

To give a brief summary of what this novel is about, the MC wakes up to find he has regained his memories from his past life, and figures out that he is actually if a video game. (For those confused like I was, it was still him in his body before he regained his memories) He then follows along the cliche trope of seeking revenge, but what makes his journey different is that he plays a more antagonistic role, I wouldn’t say he is completely black hearted but he sure is pretty messed up. For those who struggle figuring out some of the MCs logic and lose brain cells in the process this novel explains it to you easily without making you suffer.

I wrote way more then I wanted to, but I still don’t believe my review did this novel enough justice for what it truly is. This story and characters will forever hold a special place in my heart, 5 stars. <<less

I love books where the main character is a villain, an actual villain. Not fighting for a good cause, not choosing the wrong path for the better of the world. But fighting for their own selfish desires and personal gain.

I love when they take PLEASURE in the pain and suffering they are putting other through. And the main character in this book does not disappoint, he's manipulative and willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants.

Morally gray villains are the best, and this man's list of crimes... more>> has to be so long💀. And the top things off he's bis**ual, which is rare in books. Though I will go as far to say as a Romance is not a part of this book. Yeah they sleep with each other but it's not really a romantic relationship, more obsessive than anything. Either way, in this situation the MCs relationship was thrilling and fun to read.

Also the whole time I didn't really know where he was taking the revenge, but

I came for the BL but I ended up with a roller coaster ride full of manipulations, careful yet clever plannings, award-winning acting skills that deserve an Oscar, complicated relationships, twisted personalities, and a sweet yet fruitful revenge. I have no qualms though. I even almost forgot that this is a BL novel if it weren't for the occasional smut scenes 😂 But damn, why did I only just discover this gem? Well, at least I still discovered it..

First of all, the MC. Oh god, the MC 👏 He is... more>> the true definition of cunning, clever, and manipulative. Hell, I bet he invented those words. I've read countless novels with tags "Clever Protagonist" or "Cunning Protagonist" and only a few MCs were truly clever or cunning. In fact, none of them stuck in my mind as someone who is really sly. The MC in this novel, however, is different. He's a true orchestrator and a master of chess. He knows what to do & how to use his pawns. Typical MCs would've chosen to avoid the plot once they regained memories of their past lives to avoid destruction but Anderheim didn't. In fact, he gladly accepted his role as the "villain" and turned the tides to his favor. He splendidly exacted his revenge in both gruesome and clever manners. Imagine if his enemies were smarter and actually counterattacks the MC's ploys, this story would have immediately be on the top of my most favorite novels of all time.

There are some violent scenes (specifically r*pe) that might trigger some people so it is best to consider this factor before reading this novel. Nonetheless, the smut scenes between the pairs are hot and funny (yes, some lines between Jolga & Anderheim while doing the deed were funny to me. Ok, don't judge. It was really funny 😂)

It could've been better if the story was prolonged a bit. Sadly, I think the author originally wanted the story to end at the same part when the original otome game ended. At least, the author did give us readers a bit of closure since it was still explained what happened afterwards and even has an epilogue which was a whole different roller coaster ride full of feels, bewilderment, and desire for a sequel 🤧 <<less

Very good. So good that I felt chills and regret that I finished reading it. 10/10 would read it again. There are a lot of themes that not many people can enjoy so beware. This aint wholesome.

Usually when I read a story where the protagonist is clearly evil they usually go hard on the edgy teen doing bad things out of revenge but this one is WAY more classier than the usual "evil" protagonists. The protagonist is a middle-aged man who is forever 21 22 that knows a lot of... more>> dark things that ordinary teens wouldn't even begin to imagine. This dude is so well-versed in manipulating the people around him and is great in doing the long con. I love how he manages to make himself as a virtuous patriotic prime minister by cleverly revealing relevant info in a timely order and forging some things despite that we, as the reader, knows the truth. It feels like the protag's team is sharing inside jokes to the readers as we watch the idiots ran around in our protag's palms. It feels so satisfying that each plan the protag make come to fruition.

I felt a bit sad at the ending though but I still find it great as this story will now be stuck in my head for the next few weeks while I fantasize different ways it could have ended so that I can be sufficiently satisfied. I wouldn't want to change the ending though, it feels natural to me already but I just want to be happy and let my fujoshi heart go wild.

The quality does drop when the nsfw chapters came in but I still find them enjoyable enough. <<less

TLDR; Good intrigue story at the start, turns into subpar fetish shock-horror midway through.

Edit: As of 2022, I've just now recalled that the protag isn't even a dilf. The author went out of their way to make him a pretty, eternally youthful twink. Devastating betrayal for the target audience.

Strong and interesting beginning, but devolves the further the plot progresses. While a genuinely villainous MC is a nice take on the transmigration/isekai genre, it goes from "Wow! What cool mind games!" to "Wait a second, this is just a bunch of... more>> fetishes in a trenchcoat!" You lose the satisfaction and intrigue built up in the first chapters as the MC's scheming and the worldbuilding become more overtly pe*verted.

The novel's possibly triggering and/or s*xual content below:
Spoiler

human trafficking, pe*ophilia/cp, beastiality, s*xual assault, drugging, s*xual coercion, g**ital mutilation, and in*est. The in*estuous characters are either half-siblings or completely unrelated, but they were raised together as siblings.

It's such a good story. It wasn't a fix-me story, nor did it go over the top. I absolutely loved it.

Everything was calculated and schemed beautifully. If you're expecting a sweet story, this might not be the one for you. While it is sweet, it's sweet in a rather twisted way.

I don't think I'll read the side story though. It just seemed like it ended at such a nice spot I cannot imagine anything else other than that.

I did not expect the main and side CPs tbh. It felt more obligatory than necessary. I would have been perfectly fine if there weren't any CPs if this was the lot given. It didn't feel like a natural progression either, given how I couldn't even guess who the main CP was until I was gobsmacked in the face with their smut scene. The transition just felt a little too abrupt.

To be fair the smut scenes were pretty spicy so this gets 3 instead of the 1 I originally wanted... more>> to rate.

It's also easy to make the supposed heroine and her twin sister become villains by giving them unlikable traits that they seem to suddenly acquire. The author easily takes away their halos once it was convenient for the plot to make the "villains" look better.

Wasn't the female heroine everyone liked not just for her face? Her character settings flipped and now she's shameless and selfish and even the servants and knights of the house don't even like her and are exhausted being around her. Why the sudden switch in attitude tho? Because she's "soon-to-be-queen" now? I'm just saying that phase change is not natural. And it makes her seem pretty dumb to shed all pretenses like this and not expect her good for nothing might as well blend into the wall decor husband to just be loyal to her forever if she doesn't meet expectations. And this brainless guy was supposed to inherit the throne???

Not to mention, the supposed genius prodigy who suddenly replaced the MC as Prime Minister is a wet behind the ears greenhorn who couldn't even uncover any of his schemes and is always a step behind.

In conclusion, the capture targets of the female heroine are all laughable. So called talented youths who are just pawns in the MC's game. The author made everyone around them more s*upid than the villain, had the villain gain instant allies, to begin with I don't understand why the Head Priest and the Ancient Dragon decided they could place their loyalty and trust on him all of a sudden, and he was able to get away with playing pretend as a white lotus.

MC did eventually reveal his dark side to his partner. Which, fair.. Given he's the type of guy who slept with his lover when she was supposed to wed the MC- he's not exactly a saint and okay, to put it plainly, he thinks with his dick. So no wonder, MC was willing to take the risk during the circus event.

This is the first time that I rated a one star novel. I read a lot of BL novels BL before and this is intriguing me because of the high rating and interesting plot. But soon left me dissapointed in the middle. Although the smut is top tier not gonna lie, the story and the story paced made me confuse the heck out of me and multiple time I left "huh?" In some of the chapters. That's how confusing the story inside. So many plot holes, and every chapter made... more>> the plot holes bigger. Eventually, I was like fvck it and just skip chapter until the smut or the main plot line. Honestly, I can't say much because it left me headcace to read it again.

I don't want to spoil, you read it yourself. At first it was okay until 25 chapters, above that left me baffled. All of the relationship were so rushed and as if they like each others due to their face or should I say physical attractiveness? Anyway it's so superficial, cringe and 2D.

Anyway, I dropped this. The translator are doing their best, and I appreciated that. But the story just left me ugh. Nope.

And this is the first time I see a typical cannon fodder which every reincarnated cannon fodder novel talked about.

[I must say the only likeable character inside the story is Melia or Nasha's sister or whatever her name is I forgot. I mean like she is portrayed as the villainess there after what she has been through, like who blamed the girl? Okay let me explain. This girl is fcking innocent. She's 16 or 15 idk, same age as her twin sister Nasha (the so-called FL of otome games or something). She is very normal and reasonable character, although short, I can sympathize with her until she become crazy due to the MC's plan. It was so pitiful, like, she didn't deserve this. She fcking sacrifice herself to hope gaining a right status to stand her "lover" and also to protect her sister. But nah, the novel really portrayed her as one of the bad guy. I feel sorry for her] <<less

I'm not quite sure how I'm feeling right now. The novel was unlike any 'otome game' trope novels I've read.

And it was a very much of a fun ride, specially because this time it was a male lead. And though there were quite a bit of unrealistic stuff, the overall tone of the story went well with them.

And not to mention the random bouts of tears that gathered in my eyes throughout the novel.

it was fun ride.

It is nice at first until somehow it become nonsense. I'm disappointed.

Out of nowhere having drama then having s*x and then romance that forced.

I don't like the romance they become together because the writer want it, forcing it together, it doesn't flow well.

... more>> I'm shipping A with MC, because of the flow, but out of nowhere it become Z, it is okay if it doesn't end up with A, but why with Z?? He doesn't even get 'mentioned'!

MC is manipulative yes, but the result is odd since the 's*x out of nowhere'. <<less

It was good, I like that the end is kind of a close ending and a open ending at the same time, as well as the friendship the MC have with the dragon (the dragon go to sleep after the MC death and awakes again after the MC reincarnate), and the smut is also good, the only downside is that the MC do not show too much love to the ML (it kind of feel like he was using the ML, until the epilogue when he reincarnate again with his memories and find the ML reincarnation that is a puppy and show how much he missed the ML).

This novel is good only at the first half of the first volume. I thought the MC is a scheming and cunning father who will move the chess pieces to take revenge for his daughter, but alas, his character was potrayed as possessive and love sick fool in the latter half. There is no process at all. Like no feeling development, no feeling realization, no courting, nothing!!! The moment they f***, there you have your ML.

The plot has so much potential but the love line totally ruin it. It could... more>> still be a hit with pure revenge plot.

The characters are so flat. The in-game captured targets are easily swayed the moment the MC begins his play. Like if they have enough brain cells to tell right from wrong after the play begins, why did they behaved like fools in the first place? I don't think it can be waved off simply because of the game as the game setting doesn't do much in this novel.

The daughter is the biggest plot hole. There are no explanations of why she behaved like a villainess, why she was mean and selfish, etc. If you want to transform her from evil to good, at least tell the readers why people perceived the daughter as evil.

Next is the revenge itself. I think 'can't live with a peace of mind forever' isn't a satisfying revenge at all. Even if the prince (now king) has to live in fear all his life, this didn't get portrayed in the previous chapters. How laughable when the author didn't include any interactions between the daughter and the prince, let alone, for example, blackmail or threaten, then suddenly the prince has to live in fear???

So disappointed when the start gives me so much anticipation <<less

The story is great up to a certain point. First it's great to have an Isekai where the MC in a the Villians body actually stays committed to being a villain to survive rather than trying to swap places with the good guys. Also nice that MC isn't confused the story changes due to their actions, like so many Isekai into game/book MCs do. He embraced the changes because that was important to his goals.

after that the writer seemed to try to force/shoehorn in the romance side as the story limped to the conclusion of the Otome game plot. It was even worse after

the coup plot because instead of letting all the chips fall and ruin happen to everyone he was manipulating he instead helped save the day. It was so strange because the coup would have been the perfect place for the results of the revenge to come to a satisfying conclusion for MC. But he was now "in love" or obsessed with keeping his dog in his ML which is whole nother can of bad worms.

[collapse]

Also MCs revenge stopped being satisfying as a reader when it went from, I'll get back at everyone, to, see commoners are bad and should never rise above their station. I didn't dislike
Spoiler

that Nasha essentially became the Villainess and Julieta the Heroine,

but how it happened ever one heel/face turned way too quickly. It was explained why they changed but it was instant rather than gradual so characterisation change was awkward. Also Nasha punishment took too long to happen and wasn't satisfying for a so called revenge plot. Also

Spoiler

MC saying his goal was to make the Prince no longer have peace of mind and that was his revenge was sooo BS. Especially since in the end the just shuffle Nasha off and in Epilogue-ish chapters he marries his cousin Vanellope who is extremely competent as a person and then ruler.

[collapse]

Also, the priest and the knights romance side story was so underused and could have been flesh out more and it was such a disservice to both character in either making the knight fall into the priest villainy or have the priest kinda sorta turn over a new leaf from falling in love. It was so bad when

Spoiler

their mutual feelings was only touched on when, the Priest was gonna let the s*avers r*pe him so the child s*aves could learn from example of what's going to happen to them. Even bad that the Priest suddenly is actually feeling pleasure for the first in this crap situation rather than more beneficial position and situation. And extra bad that the author made sure to highlight thst the children in the s*avers tent with them are getting r*ped anyway, partially described btw ugh. It left a bad taste in my mouth and there's no follow up later on in the story for what happened with the Priest and the Knight or actually probing into their relationship. Which actually would have been a good plot for V2

[collapse]

The final act of revenge was also dumb BS because of how far into the future it happened but if you make it that far to the story you already know it was going to be mid anyway.

Overall, despite the flaws the Isekai MC who stays evil and the revenge plot is actually good. After that it's Mid but bad and then the actual end is kinda tr*sh. It has a manga adaptation which I'll read though.

Im not reading Vol 2 there's really no point. It's post Vol 1 main story so unless you just really like the setting and character in general it's not worth it. <<less

The Show Must Go On can only do 2 things, you are liking it or hate it. I liked the original idea but didn't like the ones that were too dark. Some of the MC's choices are too absurd and I don't like it.
