Honestly, compared to other Salted Lobster that I've read so far, this one was my least favorite. Here came the rant:

    • I thought this novel was about raising babies while conquering the culinary world but somehow, raising babies were almost non-existent in this novel. Most of its content were about recipe, cooking process, and the diner's reviews. I usually didn't mind food theme novel but I still think this novel's title was a bit misleading.
    • MC and ML's relationship weren't developed well enough. Everything happened so fast between them. When they met for the first time, ML already took an interest in the rabbit-like MC. After he knew that she was pregnant with his child, he immediately married her and assumed the role of husband and father-to-be without any scruple. MC was actually a bit flustered with how fast their relationship progressed but in the end, she got along with ML's wish and it didn't take long for her to fall in love with him. Well, I think it can't be helped since ML was a male god for almost every woman in the universe and he was also a good husband and father.
    • What about the terrorist organization that threatened the military? It still didn't get eradicated until the end.
    • I also didn't like how MC looked down on western cuisine so much. Surely, chinese cuisine was delicious but western cuisine also had its own charm. And it's unfair to do PK between chinese and western cuisine since both of them wasn't comparable. It would be better if MC and her opponent competed with the same theme.

This is a very classic Chinese writer mary sue MC with an emotionally stunted handsome rich famous recognized ML with common trope system used to explain any sort of ambition or goals for FMC and convenient barely there baby for common trope reason for relationship. This is all the things you want for a brain dead reading experience. One extra star for translation quality.

Very cute!! Towards the end the pacing gets a little odd (there's a time jump I didn't expect and then after that pacing felt weird), but I really enjoyed reading it!

I had to skip a few chapters in the beginning because I just couldn’t get into it - both the MC and the situation was annoying and I was experience severe second-hand embarrassment for the MC.

It got better for me after skipping/skimming through those chapters.

Anyway, after that period, it was smooth sailing for MC as she went on her culinary adventure.

One word, FOOD, FOOD, and more FOOD!

A pretty relax-reading, food novel.
