I have skimmed more chapters then I have fully read but still this review will be basic enough to understand the primal flaws.

one thing I personally hate are the long damn complex names of moves and powers. For example: 'Primal Chaos Purple Phoenix Thunder Pond.' Thats a damn pond. How complex of a name just for a damn pond. It could have been simply Purple pheonix pond and a simple description: a phoenix from the primal chaos era got went through thunder tribulation and it shed its purple blood here.... more>> Simple as that, but this novel tries to jam the names and descriotions together and it gets rather annoying.

Now time for the story: legit its all about arrogant youngsters comparing their d*** size. "Ohh I think he has a bigger one than me, I cannot accept this. He must die and his woman belong to me. HAHAH my plan is too perfect, I will send someone just abit stronger than him to take his woman and kill him. Haha who cares if I know this guy is one of the most talented geniuses ever, I have a powerful grandfather he will save me if my life is in danger. Haha I will slowly send people stronger than that first loser who died so when Huang Xiaolong is finally stronger than my grandfather he can annihilate our clan. Haha my plan is perfect for destroying Huang Xiaolong, taking his woman and destroying my own clan haha!"

^Thats legit the mindset of every single enemy that starts a conflict with Huang Xiaolong. The only variation is that instead of woman it will be treasures. Legit thats the plot. Then the old men who have their geniuses killed by Huang Xialong will plot in the exact same way. Its a very repetitive novel. I have sufficiently explained how the conflicts begin and advance. There are a few times where that doesnt happen but it can be counted on someones fingers.

This novel's story is also very weird. It starts of

So HX finds a powerful experts inheritance. Now this was completely random, now HX uses this in a great manner. The problem isnt him stumbling on the ring. The problem that I must say is that, everyone accepts him as the inheritor of the old man when all he did was just find the ring lol. Some powerful old men take him as their master, for no reason other than he stumbled on a ring. Hmm that is a questionable mindset. This is very repetitive as this guy does not have any friends. Subordinates, pets and his women. Any man he respects will somehow declare their inferiority and for some reason decide to follow him, of course he only allows people close to him to be his subordinates, so there is no rivalry, comedy nothing.

Harem isnt bad except for that Li Lu girl. She has been abducted countless times, she goes missing so much times it becomes a joke. Every time she goes missing, for some reason she becomes a disciple/fiancée of some major power of the place MC 'coincidentally' needs to go. EVERY TIME. She also somehow has a higher cultivation than the MC every time they reunite. How? It doesnt make sense for the author to say: HX is the greatest talent to ever appear. Then Li Lu who is just a year older than him has a cultivation of two or three stages higher than him. DESPITE, him going through countless trials and life and death battles. Despite him being tempered by every treasure he comes across she is consistently higher than him. They reunite, chat have fun. Then HX goes to finish his business and lo and behold his little girlfriend is missing. Time to find her again so she can run away again.

A rather dull boring novel where the MC cannot lose at all. Legit even in a blinking contest against a dead person who died with their eyes open, he will somehow win. I am not a fan of novels where there is no suspense in victory. A battle that is already confirmed to be a victory is rather boring. You know how some people say "winning all the time is boring" well thats not quite right. Watching someone win all the time is boring. Its like one punch man manga being as long as one piece, you cant imagine that right? Because it defeats the purpose of defeating enemies with one punch. It shouldnt be that long, just like this novel. No defeats no minor losses. Nothing of the sort. Just a story where a guy increases in arrogance.

Thats another flaw of this novel. This MC doesnt like arrogant people but doesnt realise he is the most arrogant person of them all. Later on the novel, he does stuff that piss people off and then he acts like he is in the wrong and dishes his punishments out. If you slap someone on the face, what do you expect them to do? Slap you back? Curse you? Try to kill you? In this novel, majority of people will try to kill you if you slap them on the face. The MC is the type to torture you to death. And if he slaps someone, even if they curse him he will dish out his punishments.

Overall this novel is very dull and boring. I would not recommend to someone who wants a meaningful story. Nor someone who wants to time kill. However the novel doesnt have gigantic inconsistencies like other novels and isnt worth dropping if you have invested alot of time into it. It does get repetitive and is sufficient if you skip many chapters and read the wiki page on fandom to fill in with new characters. <<less

Ok first off, I have read to the current raw with a great machine translation. That being said, its still a machine translation so not the greatest of qualities. Now I love this story even with all the complaints about overused tropes.

First off the whole reincarnation thing doesn't factor in much to the story, besides his Body Metamorphose Scripture and the very rare mentions of earth. It wasn't like he was a god like being in his last life or had knowledge of the future. He was a 17 year... more>> old kid from earth that ended up being reborn on a martial arts world. Knowledge on earth would only be useful if he was like on middle earth and building a gun would make one side extremely strong. Seriously if anyone of you were transported to the Martial Spirit world, what advantages could you really have from having lived on earth?

Second his family. Now this is kind of a spoiler.

Later on he kills this somewhat "important" guy from a sect that his cousin and uncle invited to basically kill him, his dad, and his mother. He takes his father and mother away to the kingdom's capital city; leaving his other family members to died when the sect came for revenge.

Third the hide potential, people the people of earth does this all the time because its logical. Does a company or government say to their rivals or enemies, look over here were are building/making something that will gives us a complete advantage over everyone else? No they would most likely have spies implanted and try to commit sabotage to prevent them from succeeding. So it makes sense that the MC hides his power, because his very small family cant protect him. Now if he was the favorite son of a powerful empire that had countless strong protectors, then I can understand him revealing his true talent.

Though there is one thing I dislike about this story. It feels like the author doesn't even know where is going. For instant for awhile we knew of a highest cultivation level by name; lets call it leader. However there were a few people that were over that level, later there were alot of people past leader level. So whenever these peoples' cultivation was mentioned it was said like this oh he is exceeded leader level. It made me feel like the author hadn't thought of what exactly where his cultivation should end. <<less

If you've read "The Nine Cauldrons" by 'I Eat Tomatoes' you will like this. I like the MC way of doing things. I was addicted for some time and I loved it. But what ruins it for me is the Romance. (It has no taste and its like any other CN)

is its too fast and things are really forced! So there's no room for character development when the Characters feel "emotion" I just can't get into it since there's no development.

I loved the fact the MC ditched his Clan and left them to die and escaped with his family. That's something "King Of Gods" CN MC should had done! The MC takes no sh*t from no one. I like it. But I hate the fact that the Heroine whom had no potential out of no where gets a power up! Then the typical Wuxia thing happens. "Heroine captive by a extremely strong Clan and MC has no choice but to get stronger in order to marry her" How many freaking times have we've seen it? That's what I hate about it. The changes were too forced. Out of no where suddenly the Heroine Li Liu family dies. And its emotional later saying "I'm getting revenge".

I had good hopes for this one and it is a shame given the great work of the translator, but at this time it seems that we have another Peerless Martial God in the making : (

Peerless Martial God also has an excellent translator. I hope it isn't a trend...

At this chapter, all that is left of the good initial potential of the story is arrogance and mercilessness of the MC vs. s*upid blindness of the antagonists. Well at least the MC is not self-righteous like the protagonist of PMG.

I... more>> know that, by my point of view, the story has being constantly descending in quality. And I don't intend to wait for a 1000 chapter until the story finally appeals to me. I don't know if I have the energy/time to discover the truth of the matter.

The mention of Martial Spirits and a reincarnated MC that brings over a technique from his original world initially brought to mind Douluo Dalu 1, however this novel is nowhere near that gem.

There's little to no suspense - everything gets handed to the MC on a silver platter. Within just a few chapters, the MC's reached the 3rd level mountain peak of cultivation while the early antagonist is just at 1st level, received TWO cultivation treasures (all thanks to a monkey that comes mysteriously out of nowhere), received a super... more>> advanced cultivation technique (with related battle skills!), a treasure saber and space ring.

Zero attempts at world building, MC's interactions with other people are limited to

a. Hiding his higher cultivation level (which I think is BS because that's just asking for trouble. At the very least he could show that he has worth in his clan so that he doesn't need to deal with a lot of unnecessary sh*t)

b. Reassuring his parents that he won't get beat up because of his *lower* cultivation

c. Beating up the arrogant junior members of his family.

The author could have done a better job of giving his MC personality by showing how he interacts with his parents and siblings outside of cultivation concerns, but the opportunities are thrown away in favor of cultivation and getting new treasures, etc.

TLDR - Don't go into the novel if you're looking for a well-developed, living world with a fleshed out MC and an intriguing story. If you don't mind the usual xianxia tropes, near constant treasures and level ups, then there's quite a possibility for the advancement of the MC. It's possible to get hooked to see how his martial spirit will evolve and advance, what skills he'll get, and how the mysterious cultivation technique he received will improve.

This is a guilty pleasure arrogant young master bashing overpowered protagonist xuanhuan.

Writing quality is MGA (Martial God Asura) standard i.e. Very simple. Translation is ok, 4/5 i.e. Wuxiaworld standard but could do with an editor for multiple translations errors later in the novel.

Minor Spoilers

... more>> Romance is minimal with 1 dimensional females. Large harem (approaching double figures) but they are often forgotten with little romantic subplot. 2/5

Action is ok and the powers he gets (demon, dragon and buddha) are pretty interesting. 3/5

Small crafting arcs (alchemy) but simple writing quality e.g. He magically can concoct. 1.5/5

Arrogant young masters and hiding true abilities to impress everyone is the main theme of this novel - more than any other novel I have read, at least 200+ arcs. 5/5

MC is ruthless (to both genders not just men as has been seen in other novels) but is pretty standard handsome male lead. 2.5/5

Typical Chinese ending with a lot still left to the imagination but at least you'll get some closure. 2/5

Biggest flaws are the lazy writing and plot holes. Lazy writing is when MC can change appearance or wipe people's memory just because it's convenient in the story - there is literally no development how he got such OP abilities. There's also the silly Chinese measurement where creatures can be as big as solar systems. The final major issue is the repetitive plots, there are literally 40+ restaurant arcs, 30+ auction arcs, 10+ pagoda/tower arcs and 10+ battle/sect school arcs to name but a few. Basically expect all the clichés x 10. If the arrogant characters and OP protagonist is your kind of novel and you are content with the simple plot then this isn't a bad read. I expect within a year (summer 2023) it will be fully translated and then may be worth picking up. Also, I've mentioned many negatives, so to finish on a positive note, one enjoyable thing about this read is it's fairly light read. What I mean by that is, there are very few times when the MC is in so much trouble that it's impossible for him to resolve within a few hundred chapters. Some novels have c*ckroach enemies and others so powerful that they are constantly supressing the MC making it a heavy read. This novel is a lot more simple and enjoyable because it isn't convoluted/ have the MC on the run for 90% of the novel. If you're looking for something with a stronger plot or interesting characters/ MC, this isn't it. It's as vanilla and standard as Xuanhuan novels go with virtually no unique aspects.

I gave it 4/5 because it's a 3/5 novel and +1 because it was the genre I was looking for. The 3.3 rating is pretty fair. <<less

'Typical' xianxia? Nope, this is a bad and boring xianxia. I got AIDS, hemorrhoids, diabetes, and even breast cancer while trying to kill time with this LN. I hate to hate, but this LN is one of the worst [if not THE worst] I have read.

Here are the reasons:

There's no 'cool' action/adventures, there's no interesting lvl-up progression, there's no romance, there's no human interaction of any kind, there are no feels, there's no comedy, there's no world building, there are no 'isekai' tropes, there's no common sense, there's no... more>> consistency and many more! Here's what it does have: mindless/bots characters, super godlike luck, plot armor over 9k; the world revolves around the MC, and everything is a smooth sailing ["Dora the explorer" shows more danger/drama and adventures than this novel]. <<less

MC is insanely OP.

Yet still needs unnecessary plot armor of repetitively finding things doesn't need to ruin more of pace of already badly paced novel. ret*rded power ups.

If wasn't enough he was more OP than anyone in story and shits spirit medicine and skills he STILL needs to find possibly 1 of 3 people that are on same continent with possibly being size of entire earth land mass combined. Yet still does it. No less as a child no less than 10 years old.

Now you would think that would be... more>> enough of a handicap... No... MC still needs enemies to be dumb as a bag of bricks. And one time that author realizes that everyone in this world has IQ of 7 year old child he ups his game. Now everyone has IQ of innocent 12 year old. sh*t gets real and MC learns from nothing and instantly sees through this once in life time explosion of complex theory of battle! Because obviously just trying to lure him out. And noone saw it coming cause for last FOREVER of story noone has been smart enough to think of this ingenious idea. But instead of learning from mistakes or finding hints. He just magically knows.

All in all if I was ever in a novel I would want to be in this world. Because I wouldn't need to be OP, sh*t spirit medicine or high level skills, have someone randomly have an epiphany looking at air and decide they need to follow me or die trying to protect me. Just have to have IQ of an adult and you might not be strongest but most likely can do as well as anyone else while having a story that is so much better than this crap. <<less

A story that has its ups, and downs. To start, the premise is rather interesting. This being the entire notion of the protagonist being the 'sovereign', which adds quite the humorous twist to an otherwise common story.

Protagonist-wise, there's little to complain of, since the protagonist is essentially a cultivation rock. He cultivates, for he yearns the power to rescue his beloved. Who mind you has great destiny upon her so she powers up in accordance to his own. Yet, the protagonist is wise, so he builds power-bases where ever he... more>> goes, and he also most importantly, utilises HUMAN RESOURCES, he doesn't try to do everything himself. He actually delegates, how astonishing!

Now for the negatives. There's distinct lack of meat to the story. It's Just rather skeletal at the moment, each chapter is seemingly around two hundred words, each paragraph one sentence. Rather Japanese at times. In the story itself, perhaps the greatest problem is that the protagonist doesn't really have an identity of his own. Everything he is has been shoved onto him. He rarely expresses himself, and when he does, it's to justify the acts of violence he has committed.

A story with both splendid arcs, and utterly atrocious arcs. Sometimes on top of the world, other times, staring down at the abyss with a blank gaze. <<less

I fail to see how this can be an enjoyable read for people.

I am someone who has read a lot of xianxia and I am ok with the tropes and cliches if they are done well or even decently.

Yes, it is filled with the cliches and he has a ridiculous amount of luck even for a xianxia MC, but the

For me the real flaw is that he has never faced a challenge that he could not effortlessly overcome. There is no tension. No obstacle is not surpassed within 2 chapters... more>> and there are effectively no negative repercussions for any of his actions.

This is not a slice of life novel, with an OP MC where this can work. It is a standard, cliche-ridden xianxia novel, and what makes those work is the journey to power, the struggle to overcome challenges that exceed what anyone could expect of them; this novel has none of that. <<less

This novel is plainly bad. Everything is just too convenient for the MC. Ie. Instant power up elixir, OP legacy on the go, Auto loot monkey, Instant understanding of martial art. Totally OP spirit constitution.

There is no difference between this and other generic martial art novels. Also school arc is just s*upid, because author has nothing else to write, he just throw in a school arc for the MC to flex his arrogance, for unneeded boring. Combined with totally royal servants, who kept kowtowing little kid. Everyone should avoid this... more>> novel entirely, unless you have nothing else better to read like me. <<less

This novel was recommended twice to me so I thought it was a good one but it was way worse. Hear me out, I'm one of those novel readers who loves tr*sh generic mediocre novel because of some aspects which I really like (harem, clan building, family good, adventure, father MC) and it's more enjoyable than the top tier novels out there reason why I don't have qualms reading this BUT this one is the EPITOME that someone like me who loves generic ones don't like it.

It is very poorly... more>> written that I really think author had a minimal vocabulary to use and the jumps of time is too fast and it's like I'm reading a summary of a novel, the repetitiveness in this is the WORST I've read so far, other novels with repetitive and filler arcs looks better than this.

I gave this a chance twice maybe there will be a plot twist and change in the novel but nah I read the mid and the later half and it's still the same.

The only good thing about this is the harem and clan building, I love how he really protect his family and built his clan from the ground up to the top. <<less

This was a pretty good novel at first. You know it was a classic underdog xianxia, it was pretty interesting to read.

The quality of this novel truly fluctuates. The first few hundred chapters are solid but after chapter 1000 it literally becomes tr*sh from clichéd but not bad.

I gave a 4 star review to offset some overly negative reviews but it's more of a 3.5 than anything else.

If you're reading this review then that means you're new to this stuff. Because if you were experienced reader just synopsis alone would be enough for you to STAY AWAY FROM THIS NOVEL.

I was going to rate 3 star if author had made some effort while writing this novel but clearly author was writing just for some quick money.

PROS:

  • You don't have to read all the paragraphs, you can skim through chapter so this novel doesn't take much time to read.
CONS:

  • Female Lead doesn't even have stage time as much as some antagonists, clearly romance tag is there just for show,
  • Author can't even describe cultivation techniques,
  • There is no Action going on there due to the low effort author puts in while writing this novel,
  • Fights are very bland, MC just hides his cultivation rank and becomes righteous hero,
  • He keeps finding treasures, if they're so rare why does he keep finding them when he casually strolls,
  • Chapters repeats itself,
  • It's not any different from other cliche low effort wuxia novels out there actually this is worse because author is amateur,
  • You can guess what's going to happen 20-30 chapters ahead easily, if you're experienced reader you can guess 100 chapters ahead.

  1. MC is dumb, always make unnecessary problem
  2. he always make surrounding friend /group / family in his side threatened/injured/killed because of him left/closed cultivation. he never learn how to protect his man (minion can die who care, maybe some sad face) except for his main family (father mother) I sometime wish his parent getting killed because of him, to make him get the lesson openly making trouble everywhere but... plot armor not allowed for now (ch2900)
  3. after he know who he really is (for now ch.2900) he become more and more arrogant and brainless. I am "the real thing", I can get everything I want, I m strong no need other as long I can defeat them. I m invincible.......... lol
  4. he is emotionless subordinates subdue maniac. imagine greedy enemy want to kill MC when MC is vulnerable and MC minion put their life on the line to guard (not getting killed is heaven luck/plot armor). what happens then ? enemy beaten up and forced subdued by MC and then get some "expensive heavenly pill" to restore their injury. get another new comrade subordinate who recently nearly killing the older subordinate. can MC consider his subordinates feeling ? no ? he need them all to be subordinate no matter their nature, just to left them behind because MC lv up quickly

This review might contain some minor spoilers (it's not like it matters anyway).

This is the most childish, immature and WORST light novel I've come across so far (and I've read quite a handful), there's literally ZERO character development or worldbuilding. The dialogues are short, repetitive, plain and boring. 10 or so chapters in and the MC already got a high grade overpowered cultivation technique located in a forest scattered with mountains of bones that no one has ever bothered to investigate before, unlocked unseen heaven-defying spirit, riches, and... more>> strong backers no matter how high and prestigious they were they prostrate themselves under his feet and obey the orders of an 8 years old kid. The story feels all over the place just like this review which really makes me wonder what's inside this author's head. First, we have this unique and power cultivation technique which he gets from his previous world, a couple of chapters later he gets a second one which allows him to develop a cold chi and transform into an asura then he awakens his spirit which allows him to transform into a dragon then he develops Buddhism and all elements powers. The same thing with his fighting style that starts with dual blades which you would assume is his main weapon because it's related to his cultivation technique then it changes to whatever treasure he gets his hands-on and ends up with fists and palms.

The whole world belongs to the MC, all the Cultivation resources and treasures are like candy waiting for him to pluck them up and every time he gets some the first though he gets is to give them to his irrelevant and useless family members whose only role in the story is to show how kind-hearted and filial he is.

If you're considering this novel the only way to enjoy it is to not take it seriously, turn off your brain or you will be losing a lot of brain cells and skip whatever parts you don't like. <<less

Alright, I cannot write this anymore (I can but I choose not to get cancer). The author excessively uses time skips which ruins immersion and the strength system is way to linear it is a bit like 1+1+1+1... <<less

Ok... so... 2 part : first is without spoiler, second will include some minors spoilers which shouldn't impact your experience since they are mainly about when sh*t goes down anyways. TL:DR: used to like it until instant A and now... it's a pain to read. (plz, mercy, english not my main language)

1.I started reading this novel without any hopes, I just needed something to pass the times so I was looking for something readable who wasn't taking himself too seriously. I found Invincible... and it was perfect :

An OP... more>> main character who just roll on arrogant young masters/antagonist, training and Tournaments archs until overdose, secret techniques, overpowered treasures and H Y P E.

To be honest, I had some liking for this book until instant A. I would have gived him a 4 star : Nothing crazy but a mastery of the basic wuxia... a mess of enjoyable cliché. It was doing the basic and a bit more:

Notable good point :

  • Decent harem... No flower, only 2 girls for most of the story and... they both have different personnality without being 2 opposite side.
  • The author gave the impression of not taking the book or the story seriously, which is really important for this kind of books (i think it is named "YY" but not sure, basically the fast-food of wuxia... cheap, abondant and cliché)
  • The MC had a notable weak side, mainly his arrogance which wasn't over the top, but enought to make the character different from most of OP MCs.
The only main downside was repetitiveness, but I was here to pass the time and it was expected in the menu.

Then came the fall... the instant A...

2. This instant A was the ascension to the Divine World (classic wuxia... when you have suck up everything somewhere, you go to some new bigger and harder place). The book which was already slowly losing his good points, decided to throw the rest out in one batch.

The casualness of the book disapeared, the author was suddently a lot more serious... taking himself for the J.K Rowling of wuxia. That didn't work for me and wasted a good part of the fun. But... the absolute deal breaker wasn't that... the worst was the MC...

Has I said previously the MC was arrogant, but it played in his personnality, made him more human, more interesting... But after reaching the Divine World it became obvious to me that it was to a whole new level of arrogance. He reached an unbearable amount of arrogance, he simply take himself for some kind of god and all others are ants. The antagonists who are supposed to get punish for their arrogance are more humble then him ! I can't root for MC because he isn't any better then the people he kill by hundreds. He his just waiting for other to provoke him and he kill them and relatives who aren't even in the f*cking deal... mind you that speaking too loud with your friends is a provocation that may get you maimed for life if not killed on the spot.

I just started to hate the MC... I can't barely read it anymore... according to the wiki of cultivation grades, he isn't even half way to the end... and I am already rooting for the "bad" guys... as the name of the book says : Huang Xuolong (MC) is Invincible... so there is no hardship or anything to justify is potential, not even hardwork, he only seems to be running on boundless luck or talent and the MC simply doesn't get better with time, he only get more arrogant with time...

Maybe deep inside there is someting beautiful about how our own experience make us better people and an easy life like his would make us feel empty... but if we have to wait another 1000 chapters for this... I'm gonna be long gone to better books :) <<less

Picking up this novel I expected... something. First few chapters were readable, but then story followed set pattern:

---> MC whine that he don't have ENOUGH Cultivation Resources (CR in short) ---> Walking from toilet he stumble on some ultra rare/legendary/extinct CR ---> Give like 93% CR to his useless family, leave 5% for himself, spend 2% CR on friends and subordinates ---> Family is soooo proud of MC ---> and we start again

In novel MC have no pressure, no danger, no brain. He is always protected (remember 2%?), always wins,... more>> always tr*sh treasures (CR).

AND he always whine... <<less

Damn, this must be one of the most brainless cliche xianxias out there. After the first chapters, it just becomes a repetition of same again and again, not to mention MC is just robot with one-liners. It doesn't have a story at all, it's just complication of cliche bit used over and over.

It gives you constant OPness and maybe the greatest plot armor I have seen, but that's literally all it has. Spare yourself and don't even start reading, I felt like my brain was rotting and had to stop.
