Very good stuff for the lovers of MC having an actual brain.

Pro

    • MC is clever, very strong willed, good natured while kinda ruthless, and loves to scheme for everything, while being actually quite weak physically compared to the people he interacts with.
    • MC acts his age, not like a teen while supposedly old.
    • The world is weird, but MC knows it's weird, so we really want to know what's going on.
    • The cast is interesting overall, as everyone has their own goal to follow.
Con

    • The beginning is literally sh*t (when he's in Earth), I understand it's to set up MC character, but it's way too over the top ridiculous, from geopolitical to people reactions. Thankfully, it's only 5/6 chapters, and then we get rid of that.
      Spoiler

Apparently no, they come back with Earth contact, sadly, I'm not anymore interested with that introduced again.

      [collapse]
    • No romance. I don't mind yet though, as there are hints of relationships in the future.

You better read this novel before it gets banned by the official publishers, just like what happenend with The Second Coming Of Avarice. It's that good.

MC is basically Korean Joker (Heath Ledger version) but more like an anti-hero personality instead of a villain.

There is no power up and lucky misunderstanding bullsh*t whatsoever. The MC progress purely from using manipulation knowledge, something that every normal human being could do if they know how to do it, hence why I relate MC as the Joker.

The story is getting better as of the... more>> latest chapter out today, I have laughed many times from the situation depicted, I even screenshotted some of the quotes because it's meaningful or mindblowing.

Anyway, it's that good, a very rare novel with meaningful plot in every chapter. <<less

Spoiler

Mazelan mentions Isaac isn't the only person to be in a situation like this and yet in those year in Campus NO ONE LIKE THAT appear even after Isaac become an very important person a.k.a VIP and try to become his opponent. The only way I think its possible is at viscount or higher they can shutdown the agent completly since a mere baron can hide their heir in 10 year

[collapse]

Spoiler

THIS IS THE MOST UNLOGIC PART. The Campus work like a GRAND ÉCOLE in french which compose a bunch of school so you need to enroll in one to get graduate. During the talk with Mazelan his biggest problem is to survival for 5 year (No school will accept him). The problem here is every one is fk busy to try to pass the exam. The only one care is those who doesn't try and want to drop out => bully + his relatives who wish their nuisance to die. Yet there aren't any death since the new law had adapted (Only 5 in 300 year). So they can go there playing for 5 years accept some bully and get a certificat of the top school in the world while the other have to try their best to study and can be expelled????

[collapse]

The MC isn't too OP. He only know how others people think. The villain (so far exclude the little brother) is not too s*upid like the other isekai. <<less

I've been cat-phished by the summary!! I was expecting the second coming of Rambo when he got transported to another world. Go in there with guns blazing and makes some serious changes but nope. It has a more slice of life feel to it. Its still a good read but don't expect some serious action. Also some minor bashing on America and Japan in the first give chapters but its minor and it was to set up the character. Not my cup of tea so I pretty much just skimmed... more>> it. <<less

The MC is a madlad. Creatively violent and scheming. He does some cruel things, so look out for that if you want your MCs to be lawful good. Anyways, he's the best part of the novel. Carrying it for me.

That said, I got a little bored because the other characters weren't that interesting. Great MC, plot, and worldbuilding, but the side characters could've been better. The MC's female "rival" gets some good development, but I personally haven't found a side character I connected with. Could be preference, honestly.

MEh, I quite enjoyed it in the beginning but it became quite boring after a while. I guess I was disappointed that MC isnt as OP as I expected him to be, but what really made me lose interest was the amount of girls around him lol, and how they kind of affect his decisions. I'm just not into that. Anw it was a nice try.

Spoiler. No magic until to where i've reached. No physical fights that shows MC being OP. No really loyal subordinates. Idk, not the typical which... more>> can be interesting for others. But it doesn't work for me.

The author hypes things up fairly well but the climaxes are usually pretty quick and leave you unsatisfied. The finale was surprisingly pretty good and is good in a different way with the epilogue. The 12 after story chapters are more comedy than anything and the conceit of the events after the end I found to be implausible but amusing.

The author is pretty good at showcasing doing bad things to bad people for having done bad things to bystanders—or what we can summarize as the action—but the political and city-building... more>> stuff varied in both believability and enjoyability.

Isaac's misanthropy, which is understandable, was made to seem less authentic by the misanthropy it seems the author has or at least writes. Isaac is needlessly cruel many times through the story in ways that are bad strategies and bite him in the ass. Most of the time, his cruelty is strategic but the circumstances the author dictates really makes it stumble.

The ending really was great, the epilogue was a completely different feel but equally great, and even the after story chapters showcasing some of the backstory was interesting as an addendum. I was honestly surprised how well the story wrapped up because going into the final arc it felt like it was impossible and was all over the place.

Isaac starts out extremely weak and really stay pretty weak with only his equipment improving. There's a bit where they emphasize that smoking choyu weed and drinking elven fruit wine increases your mana and I thought they were going to reveal him to be pretty OP at some point after years of smoking and drinking but it became clear that the improvement is only temporary and not particularly significant. I'm not sure if I just misunderstood it originally, if it was deliberately left vague, or I'm overly influenced by past isekai and tensei stories I've read.

Commenters really dislike Rivelia so if you like her then probably don't want to read comments in any chapter she is featured. Reisha and Kunette are fantastic but I personally figured their secret out pretty early on (I believe it was written so that readers would know while Isaac et al would stay in the dark, but commenters seemed pretty surprised) and knowing their secret really made me dislike a lot of the actions they took. I still like them as characters but I doubt I'd be able to handle that sort of deception in real life.

Anyway, for me, the twists didn't particularly come from secrets characters kept but more so from the reveals of plans and strategies as they played out. That being said, the action chapters felt like they were the overwhelming minority while the—IMO lesser—city-building and politicking chapters were the majority.

Still, I am super glad I read and the ending did not disappoint. <<less

4.5 stars rounding up to 5

The school arc was just okay, but the rest of it is so good that it makes up for it. Isaac is absolutely insane, alternating between the "good guy" and "bad guy" role so fast you get whiplash. Some plot points are predictable but all of Isaac's shenanigans caught me completely off guard.

The jokes only get better as the story goes on. I can't keep all the complicated characters connections straight in my head, it only makes for better comedy when someone whips out something... more>> that we should have expected but couldn't because the whole world is a clusterf*** where everyone works against each other. <<less

It's a great isekai novel. No system, no RPG style progression, MC is weak as a wet cookie. But it's very good because it tries to portray an oppressive society realistically, and throw in a war-baptized sociopath into the unprepared society.

The pacing is kind of "off" sometimes. Things happen without MC's involvement a lot of the times, and he quite often doesn't even deal with them, so they can come back later and sting him. It's a completely valid criticism to say that author, at some point, throws stuff at... more>> the wall and sees if it sticks, in order to give us some action.

The world building is narrative driven. The more you progress, the more you find out, there's not a lot of infodumps regarding everything. There's a huge focus on politics, intrigue and business, so this can essentially be categorizes as "kingdom building", but not really.

As said above, power scaling or system is completely unavailable. The only OP thing is the fact that completely realistically, people die when they're shot.

Romance is.... shoehorned at best. While obvious, it still was only resolved in the epilogue, and it was done in the most E-rated way (despite the rest being M-rated at least) possible. Kind of bittersweet, but understandable since the novel just doesn't have any place for significant romance.

There are some gripes with ages of characters. Due to author completely skipping some time in between, we know that main cast aged mostly the same-ish. Some supporting characters are ambiguously kid-aged, and there's again no clear indication of passage of time. However, some of the less human characters bypass this by being presented as adults already, which will become a big "what the f" moment in the epilogue. If you're unbothered by that, then it's fine.

Overall, an extremely solid novel, kind of the inverse GATE. If you're looking for something that has actually weak protagonist, realistic world building and graphic descriptions of horrendous evils, this is for you. <<less

I really enjoyed this novel!

The main character Isaac is similar to the MC of kidnapped dragon, he is fed up with life and has no moral. He doesn't really have any goal. That is showcased especially in the beginning, where he doesn't care if he is bullied or treated, because he ist just too lazy to (re) act.

But he will act if someone crosses his line, and then he goes above and beyond, with nothing stopping him to get his revenge.

He doesn't like beeing played with, or beeing on the... more>> receiving end of scheming. He will put up with it, if it's just a slight bother for him, until it is too much and he goes full on mad dog.

Being shameless? Burning a city? Killing thousands? Doesn't matter.

He is very selfeaware and relaistic/pessimistic about human great and politics, and he has great deductive capabilities. So it's fun having him analyse and react to intricacies of the world politics.

I find it very refreshig, thT he isn't hold back morals, especially in situations where all the other players don't care for human lives either. Infact he is ready to die anytime as well.

Give it a try, it's not too long, and very interesting <<less

Just another wannabe scriptwriter korean that has more conversation lines in one chapter than a whole romance book in half its entire story.

Nothing, too bland and just another baiting author to get clueless, novice readers into reading it all, thinking they will read something that will amaze their creative minds but that is... yet another insult to whoever reads it.

This was an interesting story with lots of twists and turns that I'll avoid going into, just because they're better discovered through reading. The MC in the prologue feels decisively different from the MC we get after reincarnation, but that's simply because he's just so done with it all. Eventually, that prologue MC comes back in full force and the story escalates immensely. Please understand though, the position he was reincarnated into was a neglected concubine son to a baron family. He'd literally be throwing his life away for no... more>> good reason if he acted out in the same way when all of the opponents were substantially higher ranking nobles with better positions in society. The school arc is just a preamble to the real plot, I'd call it the weakest link but there's too many reoccurring characters and it gives a good understanding to the people of that world. <<less

A MASTERPIECE.

Like, what do I even say?

The world building, the characters, the plot... It's almost perfect.

This is a kind of novel that people (like me) would either love or hate, there's no middle ground.

My god this novel is damn good. It doesn't involve any cliche tropes. Its all about a man who when pushed to the edge retaliates in such irrational way that it send chills down the spine. Its a power struggle but only to survive and one up on any enemy through schemes and mass slaughter. If things written in the novels were to be done in real life you'll be regarded as a terrorist. (You would say well any thing if you repeat in real world that has been done... more>> in any novel will land a title for you being terrorist thats true but this novel is the most realistic fiction every action and consequence has been written so well that it doesn't feel irrational. I quite liked the prologue, that was the best part by far. After that it just becomes a comedy where everyone is an idiot and plot holes are everywhere. I tried to like it because I saw everybody talking about the MC being insane, but so far after the prologue he's pretty much just lazy. That can work, but the constant giant plot holes and people being idiots just makes me think about that instead of being able to enjoy it.

For all the people that read only the first chapters and thought that this was a harem romance novel, how wrong have you been, this novel doesn't have them or need them for where it goes is beyond that.

This is a political storm and a crazy bastard that just wanted to relax fishing in a calm beach, having to ride on it with a surfboard and throwing sh*t left and right, be it enemies or allies alike (if you can call that allies)

i like Isaac's personality, his all out personality was hilarious and fun to read. The plot and political tricks was okay and I expect more in the future.

the reason I gave it only 2 stars because the closest people isaac had is mostly women (the bear, elf, scientist, and that stiff noble woman), I repeatedly checked if this novel has harem tag. If you don't like the protagonist of this story then you will not have a great time reading this one. This webnovel falls into the category of you either hate it or love it. Very polarizing webnovel. This is the most frustratingly great piece of media I discovered on this site. I hate every. Single. Person. In. This. Story. Except for Isaac-- the character with the most shittest personality there! I find the writing of this so great that it bypasses my hatred for the cast so much.

This book shows... more>> the most pessimistic view of human nature through the eyes of Issac which can get quite uncomfortable and/or hilarious to read (depending on the type of person you are). <<less

The closest thing to this would be Regressor Instruction Manual and some vibe of Summoned Slaughterer

The MC has a f*cked up past, he wants to live in peace but he was forced to fight to survive, and of course, as an MC of a tragic novel, he has to.

Pro

  • It is actually hilarious, very rarely you can find good comedy of such quality
  • Clever and competent MC that is shown through his action and not his or anyone else word
  • Will take the initiative if he have to but not overbearingly bother anyone he doesn't have to. Chaotic neutral or Chaotic good.
  • Relatable and realistic characters (with few exceptions). Everyone have a life of their own and will move according to their benefit or believe
  • Interesting World and lore, with hint of giant conspiracy and grand scheme so you have both long and short term goal to look forward to
Con

Many time skips, somewhat questionable pacing.

Lot of lost opportunity to give more depth into the characters and world-building, and lack of balance between the tension as MC rarely able to take a break as problem after problem arrive. Though it is mostly because author glaze over his peaceful time which is actually the majority of the time if you take a note of the time skip. Which is not a bad thing especially if you don't binge it as I do but it feels like you are always stressed and under pressure especially on later chapters.

I would give it 4 but bonus point for originality and comedy

Anyway I'm surprised by the low rating, maybe because it is more on the extreme side so you either love it or hate it, just like NTR (not that there is any, heck there is no romance but the genre is a good extreme example) seeing the top comment is either 1 star or 5 star. Most bad novels will have a lot of 2-4 star with some 5 and 1 star, just to show that it is heavily dependent on your taste as I disagree with how some review stated that it was poorly written or dumb, I got it that it is no masterpiece but especially compared to 90% of CN novel and most JP WN/LN it is clearly above average (not saying much since most WN don't even have any originality but a bunch of cliche put together into a "story") <<less

A-a-amazing! Amazing! This novel truly left me shocked and exhilarated at so many occasions I lost count. To make it short, if you liked the tr*sh of the count's family you will love this and vice versa.

the MC is cold, unfeeling and bold (also suicidal and doesnt fear death) but he's also cunning and resourceful and extremely scheming. This story made me shed tears but also laugh out loud and just jump excited at mc's ingenious schemes that truly go beyond the reader's imagination.
