Alright this one is a good one to read. I like the pace and the plot of the novel. You'll love the characters with their personalities.

I want to tell those who are planning to read this novel and those who says that this novel lacks elements that other fantasy novels has, this novel is different to them. This is different to others for this is a kind of slice of life genre so don't expect heavy actions or anything like defeating a demon lord or demon gods, this novel is... more>> about building a village (more like a city) and farming. For those who don't like slow paced and novels that lacks actions and other things like full-blown war, this novel is not for you.

I will say it again, this novel is a slice of life with fantasy theme and don't expect this to be the same as other Isekai and Fantasy genre novels out there. <<less

Lives up to the what so many isekais out there are. The difference is that this one is more casual and laid back, so this story also becomes somewhat more niche.

It's not really well-written (a lot of short sentences, not great descriptions...), the "plot" is barebones at best and the characters are pretty one-dimensional so in theory it should have all it needs to be a pretty poor novel.

Thankfully the author seems to understand it so the story didn't go in the "usual" direction.

What we have is a pretty nice story about a mostly relaxed lifestyle.

... more>> Sure, the main character and the villagers are OP but it rarely matters and very few situations need that amount of power.

It's also nice that the author didn't make the main character the best at everything.

He doesn't really have charisma, isn't particularly intelligent, has a pretty "down to earth" common sense (even if very different from the common sense of people of that world), doesn't particularly try to hide (or show off) and loses to others in a lot of things.

This might sound weird but after hundreds of nearly "perfect" main characters it's kind of nice to finally have a "slice of life" novel stick to that and not branch out into action and showing off how great the main character is all the time.

Even the "cooking" that those japanese novels like to have is a bit different from usual, it's not "the main character's cooking is god tier" and rather "the main character has a lot of surface-level knowledge about cooking but isn't necessarily better at it than others once they understood the principles".

There are also no s*ave harem, many of the wives (of the main character but also of others) are strong and know how to impose their will (but not to the point where the husbands are just living for their wives).

It's definitely not a novel you read for its great writing but it's nice to read a few chapters every now and then to pass time as you see the village and the surrounding world go through the years. <<less

Meh!

First of all, author wrote the novel in form of diary. Dialogues are rare in the novel and big events like MC having a child are written off in 1 line. Pacing is extremely fast which is a good thing.

The thing that annoy me the most is harem. Romance is the worst, in fact, it can't be called as romance at all. 99% of population in village so far are women and all of them wants to have baby with MC. These sluts enter village, then next day, sneaks into... more>> MC's bedroom to be fu*ked by him. This can be considered as r*pe!. We saw no interaction between girls and MC and suddenly they want to have his baby.

Novel does not deserve 3 star, but, those who can tolerate unreasonable romance can read this. Just dont expect much expectations. <<less

Overall the MC is shallow in many aspects. The acceptance of each type of creature vs other characters reactions, being able to do anything with the all purpose farm tool, individuals he meets and interacts with are all downplayed and dismissed. Only parts that arent downplayed so much are his children, but even that so far has only been 3-5 chapters on interactions with them, mostly births. So the MC seems to be a leader, but a deadbeat dad and also a ignorant fool.

... more>>Loo and his other wives, are rather lacking also considering. Especially when a Vampire gives birth, like WTH is that and how did it happen.... Cant there be more to this. {/spoiler] So all in all there are many aspects that are plot holes that never get explored.

Latest chapter I was able to read before a database error, was talking about a flag... isnt that pretty much setting up for a country state? cough cough not that anyone in story would mind if they went independent cough cough... Just another example of lazy writing and comprehension of MC being nonexistant to farther the plot author wants.

The Author truly doesnt make any attempt of symbolance to reality nor fantasy... This story seems to be a complete faberication of delusions that the author has and nothing more. truthfully I wanted to like this story, wanted to see character development, etc... instead I got a pile of dung that smells worse than a cat litter box full. The author seems have the idea that the MC being op and dense as all get out is normal and shouldnt ever change.... mean even after fatherhood the MC doesnt change any. Just a pile of dung to the dung heap... I am actually happy I had the database error because now I dont have to struggle to find something I like. <<less

The sparse language makes reading this novel a bliss.

Lighthearted and fun to read progression. I wish more fantasy world building would be simple like this.

The characters are all easy to understand and the story is just building a village. Still, with enough of a cast its enjoyable to see everyone scrambling to help village chief for whatever he builds. Nothing special, but its a relaxing story to catch up to what the translator has done every couple months.

It's a fun read if you constantly remind yourself that it's a slice of life comedy about a naive guy who is dead set on living like a village chief cut off from the world despite basically becoming a de facto king of a nation. The POVs of peoples having to deal with the absurdity of situation is especially good. Minus a star because the MC can get annoying with how thick he can be at times.

It's a how not to kingdom build.

It is a decent read. The prescriptive of the other characters is something that is completely skipped in the manga version of this and I would say some of the best chapters. Some of the chapters are feel a bit pointless like the author had no ideas that day when he wrote the chapter. If you're a big fan of slice of life and farming, I guess this would be something good to pick up. At the later stages of the novel, the farming aspect almost gets completely ignored doe,... more>> like you only get brief mentions of crops being harvest, harvest is plentiful etc. <<less

the truth for those who don't know when no one in the village knows the MC's name because he introduced: 'I'm the 'Village Head' of this village so everyone will think the MC's name is 'village chief'. If the MC introduced 'I'm Hiraku, the head of this village', things would be different
