It was something that happened while I was waiting for the day of the primary school entrance exam. I realised that I had become one of the characters of a shoujo manga that I loved reading in my old life, ‘You Are My Dolce’.

The role I was assigned was a character who bullied the commoner protagonist and tried to get in the way of her love with a rich boy nicknamed Emperor; a typical villainess rich girl, Kisshouin Reika.

At the end of the story, Reika suffered the Emperor’s retribution and even her family fell into ruin. With the villain gone, the protagonist and the Emperor overcame their trials and became a couple. And they lived happily ever after.

Wait, that’s terrible for meee! The manga ended there, but I have to continue living my life after my family is ruined!

The protagonist can enjoy her romance or love or whatever on her own. I’ll erase my presence so that I don’t anger the Emperor.

Eh-? The story isn’t progressing well because there’s no villain, you say? But I’m busy saving up money and studying so that I can live well after the collapse.

This is such a pleasant read. Mainly because the translator is so good at translating the huge amount of formal language being used, which resulted in a good experience at reading beautifully worded English. We can really see the graceful conversations between the characters inside this story. Quite a rare sight for something that is fan-translated.

Anyway, moving into the story, this is what you call a pure definition of slice of life. We follow the life of main character, and thus if you cannot come to like the main character,... more>> it would be quite hard for you to like this story, I guess. 10/10. <<less

One of the best otome reincarnation novel.

Finally an otome reincarnation that doesn't focus on only shoujo romance. A pure comedy slice of life school life with nonexistent romantic relationship.

It's a cute story. I dropped it at first because it got boring but it picks up when the MC gets to high school. If you're looking for romance between the MC and ML at this point in the story it doesn't exist. The MC is not romantically involved with anyone at this point and it's hard to guess who she will end up with.

I love love love love love Kenkyo Kenjitsu.

It's pretty slow paced, set in a modern world which might be lackluster for some people, but don't let that fool you, this novel will surely brings you

giggles and smiles if you

LOVE

    1. Silly-clumsy MC who sometimes exceed your expectation, from being a cowardice bunny to a sassy Empress (for a while)
    2. Love snacking as much as the MC does
    3. Crazy pack of characters which actually have a purpose and not just there for the sake of 1D stereotypical cast noises, and plus they grow alongside MC and develop their characters even further with her.
    4. Light-hearted slice of life, which is completely believable. Even a beautiful Ojou-sama get fat and needs to diet once in a while you know! Or so our MC said...
I really recommend this for light read without any expectation for serious plot and romace, but only for pure joy of seeing our MC Reika live her life modestly and humbly, trying her best to be independent to no avail.

I love this so much. I've been laughing so much that I got a cough. MC is super cute and ridiculous and tries to avoid conflict and everyone is really funny.

Somebody said that Reika was talentless in their critique in another review, even though she was a 20something year old woman in the past. Well maybe not everyone has talents and we don't all have something that makes us stand out from the crown. Actually that's more likely than not for most of us. Reika is just like that except... more>> she ended up in a super rich family. She's just a kid growing up like the rest of us. Also I wish I could read Japanese because Google translate is hard to understand. <<less

I adore this light novel. The protagonist is a rich ojousama and she deals with that role fairly well considering the fact that she was a normal middle class person before her death.
Spoiler

She just wants a normal life, and thus she pretty much tries to ignore any popular kids so as to keep herself off the Emperor's radar. But someway or another they find their way into her life.

Even though she is the character that plays the villan, I have a feeling that the people around her, like her too. Because she doesn't ACTUALLY want to be the villain and tries to be as friendly as possible with her peers.

I actually started reading this a while ago and stopped. But I came back to read it for the adorable siblings. In the end, I started reading it for both the sibling's interactions and for Reika-sama. Though she can be a bit... dumb and dense sometimes, it's actually quite adorable. I believe she has a whole fan club all to herself without even knowing.

I would totally recommend this for people looking for minimal romance in a modern school setting. Along with a somewhat dumb, rich female lead (ojou-sama) who... more>> used to be a normal commoner girl but is now rather popular. <<less

TL;DR

kenkyo is about a funnt MC and her attempts to prevent the ruin of her family which she tends to forget about (alot) and goes and has fun give this novel until the first pov chapter because that where everything changed for me and made me give this a 5 star rating, and trust I know I read alot of stuff but I have only reviewed two novels before because they where exceptional

I truly like this story for the fact that she is sensible and clever while understanding her... more>> limits as well as the family relations in the novel, no novel ever develops the family relations, I get it if your a oprhan but come on, they reason in the snyposis always starts with they have to save their family or protect their mother but just forgets them after about 30 to 40 chapters. Now the real review, Kenkyo is about Reika, at the start of the novel she is 5 years old, she is rich and very much loved by all peers and family, she suddenly gets a shock and realizes that the world she is in is the same as a manga she red before, after she tries to avoid the two people that will cause the ruin of her life and family breakdown. (I know "I have read this type of novel before why is this special") here is the twist, they story starts from before the part where she knows the manga thus she starts making preparations and starts to live the exact opposite (again "how is this a twist, isn't that kinda of obivous") bear with me as I say that entry part of her going to high school is the twist so many stories just start off at the where the game/manga/movie/insert some form of media starts but the this develops the characters and gives you the journey which is much more fun and Rofling than the actual drama. And also the translation and the chapters where you see her from a another person pov is always ROFL, they give a chance to see the MC in a different light and also shows how cute she is from other people pov, if you hate the MC just skip the chapters to pov ones the table of contents titled those ones and look at the MC from them and see that she is awesome and lovable and that you want lannistars to happen or actually have her go forever along because if he is the romantic partner sucks D**K, <<less

This is one of my favorite light novels for a reason. First, the translation is very good. The grammatical errors are minimum and the pacing and wording of the story is understandable and short. Secondly, the characters are fully fleshed out. The readers are given time to get acquainted with the side characters of the story even those with a minor role are either reintroduced or mentioned in future chapters. Unlike other novels where minor characters just disappear all of a sudden or die off from mysterious circumstances. The protagonist... more>> is likeable and the story is so heartwarming and funny that even if the romance is subtle you wouldn't really mind. I especially like how some of the side character's POV's are given and how the author still manages to maintain the mysterious nature of the male leads. <<less

Well, well, well, from what I've read so far and as far as I assume, this story is really enjoyable, cute, funny, and interesting! :) Every chapter there will be something that will pull your interest or curiosity, making you anticipate what the next chapters will entail (involve etc.), funny, somewhat sad, exciting, and many more emotions that you will feel and experience while reading it. The protagonist Reika is very relate-able, she's someone average doing her best to survive in a world pretending to be someone better then herself. (Pretty much everyone does that right?) But unlike your average person Reika has extraordinary courage and kindness that makes her stand out. You want your hero's to face adversity, so you can see how they overcome those obstacles and grow, in that sense Reika is not your hero. I just want her to be happy and see only good things happen for her, sometimes you treasure... more>> someone just because they bring you a smile. <<less

I love this novel to the point that after finish reading all of the translation available, I try reading all the raw (245 chapter) using web translator (not that I can understand much though).

I'm so grateful for the translator of this novel. :D

Reika is a funny girl. She is a very interesting character. The story go on slowly but we can see relationship between each character more clearly. It really is a good story and I think the translation is good as well.

I really recommend this novel to everyone in... more>> the world.

PS.I ship Reika and Enjou so hard.>////< Hope the author would make it happen. <<less

A fresh, cute, and fluffy story. No angst, no tricky intrigue; like previous reviewers said, it is a really enjoyable novel. Up to 42 chapters, the plot is well-thought out, and the MC's point of view presents many interesting scenes. MC main love interest is still undetermined though, and I wish he will be unveiled in future chapters with much twist. However, even if Reika-sama decided that boys are too much of a bother, I'll still happily read about her days of hunting plebeian snacks and new friends.

All the characters are well fleshed out, believable, and entertaining to read about. All the events in the story are consistant with the internal logic of the story and the characters are consistant with their base personalities. The main character is really fun. If you're looking for drama (I've read up to chapter 35), this is not the story for you. It is a slice-of-life about a precocious (due to her past life memories) young girl who is trying to enjoy life to the fullest.

Definitely one of the best SoL novels out there. Mostly focuses on the daily life of MC. There are some other povs but not much. The comedy is just sooo good.

It mainly focuses on SoL and comedy and a pretty good plot. So 5/5 from me.

This was a waste of my time.

The MC is absolutely braindead but everyone else here thinks it's quirky and cute, apparently. She was a grown *ss adult before transmigrating over, and yet she's intimidated by a PRIMARY SCHOOL-KID. How does that even make sense?

She has this whole plan thought-out as insurance in case the horrible fate of her family in the original work actually takes place, but she's not really doing anything worthwhile except saving up the grand amounts of pocket money she gets, which takes practically zero effort. Her... more>> grades are sub-par and she barely has any talents. She spends her time pigging out on chocolates and sweets, going nuts in daydreamland and simping over her older brother.

The other characters are 2-dimensional. They're only there to fulfill a certain role, like the Emperor being utterly obsessed and crazy over his first love but obnoxious and cold (mostly cold) towards other people – The classic trope of the ML only being a decent human being towards the person he's head over heels for. His first love is a classic sweet onee-chan. Her best friend is that androgynous tomboy both girls and guys alike fall for. And the MC's brother is that unrealistically patient, kind, slightly spoiling-the-little-sister type of sibling in novels like these.

This novel takes forever to progress, and when it does, nothing happens. It's bad enough that her back-up plan isn't going anywhere (because she's not doing anything even remotely useful) and the MC's romance is basically non-existent, but there are so many useless sidequests (being forced to help the Emperor's first love be on good terms again, "dealing" (I say this because she doesn't do anything except get out of their way) with her cram school friend's childhood friend who has a crush on him)... what's even happening? There's nothing of substance and the plot is so bland, even for a light read. It feels like I'm reading air. <<less
