I don't understand how MLs always say MC is always pure, but the MC never said himself was pure okay!

Gradually he matures and loses his childless and he dual cultivates left and right.

It was really a smooth ride he so OP. There was alot of faceslaps, but felt we needed more bases war and human vs human. These Zombies are too weak. Barely any cannon fodder even died. MLs are protected like gods they didn't even get injured once in the novel lol.

The smut is good, I like how MC... more>> personality is like a child but also sense of mature and knows good and bad. Be kind to the kind, take revenge when there's grudge. <<less

I would say it's not that bad as everyone says. It's actually very entertaining.

Plot

MC reincarnates from an abusive life in a cultivation setting to modern times. He's overjoyed at getting family, friends, and just not being imprisoned underground. This falls apart when the zombie apocalypse occurs and MC has to use his skills to keep what's important to him. It's a harem but so far only 3 MLs have been introduced.

... more>> Characters

MC (Gong Lixin) - OP. Innocent because he grew up in captivity. Surprisingly cruel at times, also because he grew up in captivity. In his last life he was kidnapped as baby and raised very strictly by Xiao Lin until MC kills him and consequently himself. Is more indifferent than kind despite his reputation. He's mostly generous to those that are first kind to him. I think the author tried too hard to make him perfect resulting in him being inconsistent and unrealistic. However, the author succeeded in making him charismatic. I always ended up rooting for him and he's generally a fair person.

First ML (Song Haoran) - the first person to meet the new Gong Lixin. A stereotypical alpha male that's soft for the MC. He's actually my fave ML so far. He's in the military and leads most of the apocalypse fights. He's unapologetically bias to the MC.

Second ML (Lin Wenbo) - OG Gong Lixin had a crush on him. Is Lixin's future brother in law. We can all guess how that turned out. Is a businessman logistics person.

Third ML (He Jin) - a mercenary. Fell in love after 2 days. Is supposedly the only that rival Haoran strengthwise.

Gong Xiangji (MC's sister) - most of the controversy is around her and rightfully so. The author wrote her in a way that we would feel sympathetic towards her but then kept pushing her over the deep end. She's a regressor and after risking her life to save the OG Lixin he betrayed her resulting in her death. This leads to her and our MC becoming enemies. She was constantly villainized until it became difficult to feel any sympathy for her. She eventually became unlikable but it was out of character from her original setting. The author explained as the built up of stress from her past life as she was basically traumatized. Honestly, I think the author did it as excuse to rightfully have Wenbo leave her for the MC.

Pros- the story is interesting and entertaining. There's a large character cast. The premise nicely blends cultivation with an apocalyptic world. And it's enjoyable

Cons- Uncomfortable age gap between MC and MLs. Despite his past life MC is innocent and naive so... yeah. It's a bit difficult to see the relationship between MC and his sister because they could have been a better power team than him and the MLs. They're like parallels of each other except one is liked by the author and the other isn't. In many situations they often react the same but receive different results. The drama between them isn't even that great. MC is so OP that it's just sad to see her try. Also, the characters are a bit one dimensional and revolve around the MC. <<less

Loved the smut though it was very few. Also loved the MC. Yes, he was OP and not very smart and sometimes portrayed as a 12 year old despite him being a 17-year old, 170cm kid. The 2 MLs are horn dogs. The sister of the MC who was reborn after being betrayed by the og MC was treated unfairly because she was cold to current MC. She told them about the coming apocalypse, volunteered her space, and hoarded a lot of things for their comfort but she was scorned... more>> when she didn't act the way they expected her.

For example:
Spoiler

one of the friends of the MC's father was convinced by the sister to use his money to prepare for the apocalypse by showing foretold events. The friend felt sad because he basically has to turn their family's estate into liquid cash but the sister said that money would be useless in the apocalypse. Then she was thought as inconsiderate lols.

[collapse]

Honestly they didn't deserve the sister and I wish she had the strength to separate from them and help other more deserving ppl. Ah well but it's BL and we know how it usually treats women. The only saving grace was that her fate at the end wasn't too bad. Honestly what she needed was therapy but her character development was more of learned helplessness due to the overwhelming power of our MC.
Spoiler

her rapist in her last life was killed by MC with the wave of his finger. It must've messed her up and how f*cking easy it was for MC when it tormented her even until her 2nd life and strained her relationship with everyone

[collapse]

Anyway if you can stand these things, try it and I think you'll still enjoy the journey. <<less

I mean- its kinda good?? Just what I don't like is how the sister; who has a good reason to shut people out, is perceived as a "villain" and the MC is just a mary sue or a Marty sue or whatever- he's too perfect and not relatable in anyway. And the age gap of the MC and the ML (s) is pretty disturbing but again, this is fiction. (Not that I'm ok with pe*ophilia, ew no f*ck pe*ophiles. But lets understand that these characters arent real) But nonetheless its... more>> still readable and entertaining. (These are just my opinions, u can have ur own and disagree with me, but pls don't hate on me) ((also yay first review)) <<less

I wish I could give this book another chance since I’ve genuinely enjoyed some of this author’s works before. However, at some point—perhaps even from the start—reading this became a chore rather than a source of enjoyment.

The author isn’t exactly known for producing masterpieces, but her works often fall into the realm of guilty pleasures. Revenge plots, overpowered protagonists, and toxic-but-not-quite-toxic relationships are common tropes she handles decently. These elements are typically enjoyable enough to overshadow her recurring themes of misogyny and obnoxious self-righteousness, which are often subtle enough to... more>> ignore. Unfortunately, in this book, these flaws are cranked up to such an extreme that it becomes impossible to overlook them.

The protagonist is essentially a rehash of her usual formula: impossibly beautiful, brave, strong, confident, and—most annoyingly—blindingly self-righteous. This man is incapable of making a mistake, and the narrative goes out of its way to ensure we’re reminded of that constantly. Every other character, save for the villain (and even some of those who eventually “see the light”), worships the ground he walks on. If this were handled with any nuance or finesse, it might have worked—after all, similar protagonists exist in her other books and remain tolerable. Here, however, it’s shoved down your throat to the point of absurdity.

Take, for example, one particular scene:

Spoiler

The protagonist’s sister—the so-called “ultimate villain”—breaks down a wall between two small rooms to create a slightly larger one for herself. Sure, this is the apocalypse, and resources are scarce, but is wanting a bit of comfort in such a bleak situation truly a crime? Apparently, yes. The protagonist and his harem of MLs descend upon her like a sanctimonious hurricane, vilifying her to a ridiculous degree while the protagonist delivers a long-winded, holier-than-thou sermon about selflessness. I get his point, sure. But let’s not forget: this woman contributes significantly to their survival efforts. She fights, she gathers resources, and she deserves a moment of peace. And here’s the kicker—if the protagonist had done the exact same thing, you can bet the MLs would have fallen over themselves praising his “sacrifice” and calling him “adorable.” The double standard is laughable.

[collapse]

The romance is even worse. The romantic developments are stale, lazy, and downright cringeworthy. There’s zero build-up. The MLs fall for the protagonist after one dramatic moment: they see him in a compromising (but hot) position or witness him being extra OP. That’s it. From then on, they’re completely obsessed with him, ready to throw themselves at his feet. It’s eye-roll-inducing and unimaginative to the extreme.

Then there’s the blatant misogyny. It’s always present in this author’s works, but it’s usually subtle enough to ignore. Not here.

Spoiler

The treatment of the sister compared to the protagonist is so stark it’s almost comical. Yes, she’s a selfish, manipulative character who’s tried to get the protagonist killed multiple times. That’s unforgivable, but the way the author twists her into a caricature of s*upidity and malice just to elevate the protagonist is frustrating. Her actions, no matter how minor or understandable, are vilified to the point of absurdity, while the protagonist’s decisions are heralded as divine wisdom. Even their father’s blatant favoritism towards the protagonist is painted as justifiable, and we’re somehow expected to pity him for having a “problematic” daughter.

One line from the protagonist that stuck with me was something about how pitiful it was for one of the MLs to have the sister as a fiancée because she was “walking all over him” and how “women shouldn’t even think about it—this is a man’s field.” I can’t remember the exact phrasing, but the sentiment was disgusting and emblematic of the book’s many issues.

[collapse]

The flaws in this book are too numerous to list. Between the irritatingly perfect protagonist, the lackluster romance, and the overwhelming misogyny, this was a deeply unpleasant read. I’m baffled that the author, who has handled similar tropes so much better in the past, could produce something this unbearable. Avoid this one. <<less

The world building is awesome. It's so well made that even if there are plot holes it doesn't matter because the story pacing puts a chokehold on you. The smuts may be few but they are like hot. I like that even when the MC is op, he still have a lot of friends and lover that helps and protect him. There are also good female characters around him which is appreciated.

MC's dad, despite being a normie in the middle of skill-filled superhumans is the GOAT and no one could... more>> change my mind. That sister is really dumb but I understand where she is coming from. I actually gave up on her but finally she woke up and had character development. And I dig character development. Overall, apocalypse adventure with balanced cast appearance and good system makes quite the solid base for the story despite some loose thread that it will not mind it that much. Tropes are done good, character design done well (esp MC's complicated personality), lots of twist that kept it interesting.

I like the balance of good plot with some uncensored smut + multiple semes. I have this story included in my plot with smut rec list. As for the reverse harem, I am severely disappointed that the other 3 MLs weren't included till the very end. Like at least make in develop in the fanwai or something, c'mon.
Spoiler

Shame author's mind changed and did not end true harem but I guess I could do with the threesome. Others were left in an open-ended way tho. Will still keep my stars as is to help the rating.

Very pleasant read

I like strong MC and this novel delivers, with his cute ignorant side, firm and cruel when needed, knows what he wants and how to obtain them.

As usual CG always have great translatora and editors with sense of humor too 👍🏽😁

Great read

Though the first 30 or so chapters just feel like the characters are just taking turns to suck Gong Lixin's d*ck and it gets a bit too much, the plot gets going after meeting up again and it starts to get good.

Honestly you can feel the author improving as you binge read through the chapters. As previously mentioned they try to insert too much Lixin ass kissing scenes at the start and it destroys the mood, but author gets a better sense in when to put it in later... more>> on so that it doesnt get in the way of the tension and progression.

Though what I can't understand is some reviews saying that the characters are hypocritical about Lixin, they're not.

It's a difference of having tact and knowing *when* to say something. Just like knowing that there's some things you can say at a funeral and some things you can't. It may be funny a few months after but you have to know when to say things.

The character reactions make sense, most times. Though its a bit forced, none of it is complete nonsense overturning of facts, at least.

My favorite character was Xiangyi tbh, she's not the best person, but she had the most character development in this. Her traumas were understandable and honestly the author treated her way too poorly (rip fem chars in BL novels).

What irked me the most was the infantalization scenes. It's the sexualization of childishness that makes me ugh. It gets less later on so its all good. <<less

I sympathies with darksun's comment.

This was a good story with good plot and good MC. But I can't take it anymore because of the Mls. It feels like what they feel for MC is more like lust than love. And honestly because I have read a lot of novels on this site I know my requirements fol ML is pretty high. But even then I feel like the mls here are sh*ts.

I honestly like the older sisters character. If it was any other novel she could easily be the MC.... more>>
Spoiler

Lin wenbo is a shi*ty sc*mmy piece. At this point he is just finding some reason for cheating

[collapse]

The MC has a character that is understandable but is likeable (for me, maybe for some other people) he has childish possessiveness that definitely isn’t love. If the genre changed to josei that he would be the villain.

I like op MC but I didn’t like this op MC cause it only made the story boring. All that is left of this story is people worshipping the MC and the mls fighting each other and shi*ting on some side characters.

I could still go on but the reason I couldn’t bear anymore was because of discrimination. The discrimination between MC and his sister made me stop. I feel really sorry.

Instead of helping gu xiangyi all of them just try to find reasons to hate her and made me feel very sad. Society has many emotionally unstable people but we should try to understand them and heal them instead of just casting them as villains. This story could have been a lot better if the characters weren’t so indifferent to her and tried to help the sister to understand between future and reality instead of blaming her.

This story has nothing going on for me. The MC setting made apocalypse boring and mls made the romance boring and side characters made the plot boring and the sister made the story painful for me. If somebody is used to nitpick the characters like me then they better stay away instead of wasting time like me who was s*upid enough to not read the comments before starting.i hate the mls here. The story would have been fine without them <<less

I am genuinely mad. Why? Because when I started reading it, the novel had a lot of potential.

To begin with, the MC is a very unique character. He has no sense of morality that we could relate to, and there is a good reason for it: he spent many, MANY years of his life being imprisoned in a dungeon, repeatedly r*ped and cultivated to be killed. If he didn't comply, he would be drugged too. This resulted in him having a twisted worldview and subjective sense of right and wrong,... more>> and since he isn't a villain, it's a perfect dichotomy: we are meant to see him in a positive light despite his (rather selective) sociopathy. Since MC is devoid of usual human desires for conquest or admiration or power or revenge, we are given a POV from a character powerful enough to raze the Earth to rubble, but who chooses to live a normal life since that's what he always wanted: freedom.

That's about it for the positives though. So why am I so mad? Because of the tragic love hexagram. There are SO MANY LOVE INTERESTS; two of them don't even matter for more than half of the story, one of them is plain illogical as a love interest and would be better off as a bodyguard or an admirer or a training partner WHATEVER. Just... If you have multiple characters in your story serving the same role (aka madly in love, wants to bone MC, no personality beyond that), then you either cut the repeating characters out or change their purpose.

Spoiler

In the end, everyone suffers, and the MC ends up with two men at the same time who kinda hate each other (lol what is a healthy 3P anyways, amarite), a h**ny pet zombie, and some jealous side c*cks just in case. What an embarrassment of a story. And the petty drama was getting so bad towards the end, that my OTP became brainless zombie x brainless MC. Three of the love interests could be very easily removed from the story and it wouldn't change a darn thing. I'd much rather read about Song Haoran and Lin Wenbo's rivalry for that much longer than have to sidetrack for insignificant cannon fodder that serves no purpose beyond "more love rivals/options that will not be utilized anyway but you can keep on dreaming lol".

[collapse]

The translation is good tho. And the story is genuinely engaging and fast-paced, no time is ever wasted (unless it's wasted on "romance" lol). I seriously think that, at this point, the author probably wanted to just write an apocalypse story, but knew that without the gay smex no one will read it, so it was slapped in as an afterthought and the quality of the story suffered because of it. Yet, what is the saddest, is that I myself would probably never read it if it wasn't for BL so... Maybe the author was right in destroying a perfectly good story for the sake of building readership. Sigh... <<less

I really enjoy it, how the MC build his power and colony until they become strong! I am not into harem, but I am okay with this one. The MC is cute and lovely. I really like this story from the mc’s point of view. I do feel bad for the villain sister though. Having been betrayed, she suffered through the apocalypse and learned some harsh lessons for her to become like she is today. It’s not fair for people to just see things in innocent/ignorant mc’s POV... : (

It’s also kind of sad MC isn’t trying at all to mend the relationship with his sister. But overall, if I just ignore that little detail, the whole novel is low-key wish fulfillment in apocalypse... more>> and I kind of like it. <<less

Yo so far this novel is good until I read the comments and they woke me up a bit. Now all I could think of is that you know those transmigration stories of a smart MC getting into a world that is completely dominated by a single white lotus? Well this story is the villainous white lotus who captures male leads and male figures with his halo. I honestly want to comment more on the unfair treatment with the sister but it's too much. I just thought that the idea... more>> that this story could be a story an MC with a system "fix" because the white lotus is getting out of control and ended destroying the world, is mildly interesting. <<less

I love the MC so much! He's pure in character but not weak in strength (OP) and his straightforward and lovable personality makes him seem like an innocent youth. Most of the people's first impression. Proven so badly later. ?
Spoiler

MC transmigrated from a cultivation world one year before the end of the world. He deeply cherishes the family members and friends that love him. His time in the cultivation world made him understand that good feelings are repaid with good feelings and same with bad feelings. He's very sensitive to them, so he knows who's good/ bad. He gets into a relationship with Song big brother first, then Lin big brother. There are two others that love him, but the author didn't describe their relationship any further.

The story has a lot of action and drama, definitely will get your fill of the apocalypse life. An enrapturing novel.

Surprisingly entertaining! This is definitely a story where the protag is in one story (a level up/beat 'em up plot), the ML are in another (various HE/BE High Heat Dogblood Romances) and everyone else is just trying to survive being forcefed dogfood and/or faceslaps. Do Not Bring Your Brain Cells, just come for the amoral protagonist and his Cult

I rarely write review, but somehow i’m in the mood today

I surprisingly like the novel and the top reason is probably how OP the MC is lol. Maybe I’m quite tired with weak to strong MCs in the apocalypse with their OP magic space and then... start farming or somewhat similar. Here the MC is just the one punch man type of person, strong and can buldoze zombies like stepping on ants, but nothing else (unless you can consider his beauty lol)

The one with magic space and reincarnated is... more>> not even the MC here, so I can how the MCs will look like without their halo. Quite a nice change of perspective there

As for how many dislike the treatment for the sister, I quite agree with one reviewer that said the sister never share the pain/trouble she experience with her families. So, her personality change suddenly without any explanation and then she just expect everyone to accept that and also expect others to support her harming her own brother (who at that point should still have good relationship with her) ?

Anyway, if you like OP strong from the start MC like me, you probably like this one

Just one complain though, I found some face slapping to some villains not satisfiying enough despite the build ups the author create like

Spoiler

the end of the prison (just killed by one the harem, really ugh) ; and also the death of the last villain is too quick, like why just instakill after that trouble of leveling ups
