・OP MC with a cult following that blindly worships him.

・His sister while "villainous" actually has very valid reasoning but the author keeps dragging her villain era out.

・The 2 main ML are not as impressive as I expected.

・The writing feels kinda immature or too simplistic.

how the 3 side MLs never get any action with the MC and how the sister was treated. I was advertised a harem and I love all 3 side ML so I was really disappointed. And I usually don't really read harem novels, not because I hate harem, but because a lot of the dynamic feels awkward. This one really works for me though. For the sister, I just felt really bad for her at first. In the end her hate overstayed and it just became frustrating.

Hilariously mirrors how powerful women are treated at the workplace in real life.

The MC ended up with two MLs therefore it's a 3P, I would much prefer it if it's a harem novel. I don't think the two MLs are a bad choice but the more I read about the other potential lovers I felt they deserve a piece of MC too and to be in the MC's love life because all those men hold genuine feelings and worships our MC.

Admittedly, the novel wasn't all that bad but there was a lot of wasted potential when it came to character development for the following reasons:-

1. The extreme antagonisation of Gong Xiangyi, (mc's sister) was uncalled for. Considering what she had been through before her rebirth, her actions of retaliation against the MC after her rebirth felt very human and she didn't deserve the constant bombardment of people's scorn or questioning her sanity etc. Yes, she was annoying, rush and paranoid at times and no, I am not condoning her actions, nor do her past traumas excuse her actions but in my personal opinion she was not deserving of the degree of ostrastion and damnation she received from almost everyone.

2. The general tone and characterisation of the few very women in the novel was rather negative and unconvincing. Perhaps, it's just my personal observation but I have noticed this type of overarching negative representation of women in Chinese BL novels which is rather sad and backwards. Women don't need to written as s*upid or weak or irrational just to highlight that a man is strong or smart or decisive.

3. I understand that this has the smut tag but ffs, did the cognitive functions of the MLs brains migrate to their lower halves because 90% of the time they were having some form of ambiguous s*xual thoughts towards the MC. Worryingly at the beginning of the novel, the MC was only 16 years old at that.

4. The MC, well, he is certainly a subspecies of the whitelotus type MCs but not at least he wasn't a holy father. Sure, he is naive but also ruthlessly OP which serves as a nice binary contrast. His halo was a little too bright and wide for my taste coming off as a little unrealistic and forced. As everything he does is amazing yet when if the same standard were to be applied to a minor character not so much. Also, by the end his accumulated incessant worshippers were a bit cringey. Other than that, his character was somewhat fleshed out displaying a few different sides to him. He had a clear appreciation for his new chance to live a free and happy life and his love for his friends and family felt sincere.

5. Lastly, this is not quite relating to the characters but the setting itself. The world building was lackluster and convincing. If half the energy that was spend describing how much of a jade-like beauty the MC was went into the world building I think the outcome would be a much more vivid and memorable setting.

**However**

It wasn't all bad. I read it to the end and that can be considered evidence of this fact.

I thought that there was an interesting exploration of human nature and how different character reacted to the apocalyptic setting were the moral bottom line is sequestered so far into the ground that one has to wonder if it's even still there.

Some side characters had noticeable character growth, though not fully explored it was still enough to make them vivid and memorable. At times they felt more fleshed and three dimensional than some of the MLs!

Anyway, overall, it wasn't actually that bad of a novel, it just fell short of its true potential because of a combination of a few minor annoying things that when accumulated made it a bit meh.

I won't advise against reading it since it is not my place to do so, but personally I feel that there are more interesting and exciting novels out their with the same or similar premise e.g. thrive in catastrophe or little mushroom.

I also feel bad for the other 3 ML hahahahaha they didn't get a chance to do it with MC as the author settled with just 2 h**ny MLs lol

I liked the plot, although the ending seems kind of abrupt, or maybe it's just me, but the issue of the zombie emperor was like given so abrupt and ended so abrupt? I would have also wanted more esp after killing the emperor. I also hope that Gong Lixin would've told the others his origin, but I guess that's just my selfish hope for the guys to know what Gong Lixin really went through and why he is the way he is. Gong Xiangyi's circumstances were just sad at first, but she was being eaten by the past and doesn't feel grateful for what she gained through going back in time and it's pitiful. It's nice tho that she was always helpful to her family and she was also a big part of the plot.

The characters were nice and actually easy to remember. Gong Lixin's team is really lovable, esp how they laugh at Gong Lixin when he doesn't know things and when he isn't good with direction hehehe I don't think I can remember their correctly but, Wang Tao, Ling yun, Da liu, Gu nan?, Ma gun? Sun jie, sun tiantian, cao yanan?, the other two, jin shangyu, jin shanghui, lu yun, wu ming (unfortunately died sigh) li dongheng, luo daihai And of course Papa Gong and Grandfather Lin are also really nice characters who teaches Gong Lixin to be good, I'm just really happy for all of them

Gong Lixing, honestly I think even I fell in love with him. His contradictory attitude is really lovable. It's a bit sad that he isn't dug up more by the other characters. Like I know they love him and care for him but they also never cared enough to ask more things about Gong Lixin, although it's probably cause they trust him and doesn't want to push him, but still. I wanted more to come out of Gong Lixin cause he's more than just the hero, like I wanted them to know how Gong Lixin really feels at times and they should've asked them why he feels like that, especially when he doesn't want to be left, I mean he always reacts like that. I just really wanted them to explore Gong Lixin more. I thought Dou Heng would have more scenes in this thing cause Gong lixin said that they were the same, and I thought that would be explored more but it wasn't. But I am happy that Gong Lixin is surrounded by many people who loves him, just sad that there's no one who cares enough to really dig his whole being, but I guess that's because of the harem?.

First of all, the main Song Haoran and Lin Wenbo. I like them, I really do but I'm mad that they're keeping Gong Lixin for the two of them hmpp. Dou Heng and He Jin was cheated fr! And there's also Jin Shanghui who had so much potential loll, I mean he's the only one who could play with young master gong and it was really really nice to have him hehehee Back to Song haoran, hmm, he was the first one who knew what he wanted cause he already saw Gong Lixin being hot, honestly he seems like he has the protagonist halo cause of how lucky he is that he is the first one that Gong Lixin encountered hahahaha it's just really the timing that got him where he is, and I did like him at the beginning too but I didn't like that Dou Heng and He Jin were cckblocked HAHAHA anw, I like him and it's lol that he had to share Gong Lixin to his friend, lol with the tacit understanding HAHHAAH done thousands of times? HAHAHAH, The memorable scene with Song Haoran and Gong Lixin is in the car. LOL bch really came in a car with so many people around them cause Gong Lixin was rubbing him, omg, I cant HAHAHHA they bothh came. Lin wenbo was judging him so hard HAHAHAHA

then there's Lin Wenbo, he is different from SHR by how much he can control himself, and he's also a businessman so I pretty much like him cause he's different from the other 3 by how he's suited for business and all. I really admired his strength in controlling himself. I liked that he really accepted the fact that he can't be the only one solely with Gong Lixin and he's really rational. Memorable scenes with him is pretty much actually the one where he stopped SHR from putting it in LOL literal cckblock! HAHAHA Also the one where he was scratched by a bat and Gong Lixin told him that he wouldn't leave him, that was so very sweet fr. I really like how Gong Lixin just spat some serious things so honestly

It was my first time reading a harem, and especially a threesome. So hot fr! They even did double p lol tacit understanding hahahah and the scheduling ahahahaa could've been fivesome tho hmp AHHAHAHAH or sixsome if jin shanghui is completely humanized lol ehhehee

Next is He Jin, THIS. BCH. WAS. ROBBED. AND. CHEATED. He is so aggressive that I don't think he wouldn't have done anything to do that with Gong Lixin, I KNOW he wouldn't just let himself be left aside. It was quite new how he had the ability to hurt Gong Lixin, and even tho I know he's faking it, I also felt hurt then, was a nice feeling tho cause there wasn't really any sad things here. Probably the only time that Gong Lixin was really hurt. The author confessed that he cheated He Jin, and I feel so bad cause I really liked his aggressiveness! HMP. The most memorable scene, definitely my fave BTW, is the one where they were checking He Jin's body and Gong Lixin touched He Jin's body and how his dragon suddenly rises with the touch and he so shamelessly dress like nothing happened HAHAHAHA I can't!! That was so so so embarrassing which. Is. Why he was cheated!!! He's so shameless that I think he's the only one who wouldn't be scared of how Gong Lixin would react with him and really be aggressive with him and I hate that the author had a fall out with him huhuhuh

Dou Heng, , liked him. He was robbed of a simple kiss, fr! I think I can accept it if he doesn't do the deed with Gong Lixin but he could've at least kissed him!!! Jin Shanghui the zombie even beat him to it!! HAHAHA He's always peeping and I feel a bit mad of Gong Lixin cause it would be nice if he was the one who approached Dou Heng! I was really thinking it was plausible, and it would be unique but it didn't happen!! I was really happy when Gong lixin said that he also always looks for Dou Heng and even got to like Dou Heng following him everywhere. There really was so much chance with Dou Heng and it's sad!! They had the evilness and experience as common field and it's really really sad that they didn't get to explore that!! Memorable scene? Honestly he was only always peeking huhuh I guess the most memorable was when Gong Lixin stared into his eyes and instantly liked him cause he is the same as him and would never surrender even if he had to go down with his enemies. Hmp

Then there's also Jin Shanghui AHAHAH he also had so much potential. I like how he can play with Gong Lixin. I just really like him. The most memorable scene with him was how he kissed Gong Lixin and said that it was better than the core hehehe and also! The one where he watches Gong Lixin having s*x and then runs and looks at his soft little thing AHAHHAHAHAHA so funny and so cute. So much potential tho!! Wanted a side story for each guy huhuhu

Don't make us love them if they're not going to be doing it until the end with Gong Lixin huhuhuh they were robbed!!

Either way, it was still a hot read. The only Chinese novel that had no censorship whatever, thank u author
