her body is literally riddled with scars after knowing him for 3 months

The MC dies after 3yrs (which is how the story started and gets caught up near middle-end of story) and there will be a time skip of another 3yrs in which she returns in a different body.

After she died, the ML was devastated and immediately departed to Xian Yantai to revive her. He was told that she will return once her soul has recovered. During the 3yrs, the ML preserved her body (which was in a sleeping state) and she was conferred the empress.

In exchange for returning to his side, she made an agreement with Buddha that within a few months’ time she will make him realize who she is. Which starts the second half of their story in their second life.

The ML misunderstood her to have an affair with the general. The general was always a deep rooted demon in him due to the special relationship the MC has with the general. When they got together, he chose to believe, trust and wait for her to be ready to tell him everything about herself (her modern status, and why she seems to know so much about the general). However, when she was found to be pregnant, hs reason, anger and emotions broke him. There was so much evidence pointing to her affair and her attitude in protecting the General and refusal in saying the truth, altogether, led him to exert to extreme measures. Even when he imprisoned and shackled her, he never wanted to sentence her to death, he just wanted to expel his anger but he chose the wrong method and his anger blinded him from trusting her and believing the person that she is. He never expected his eunuch Xu Xi to not give her medications despite his instructions leading to her death of blood loss and miscarriage. (To those who wants the spoiler to her pregnancy and why she isn’t telling the truth, you can go to the forum for spoilers for the book)

FL, ML, second ML, second FL, and the male villain are all gods in their first lives and now in order to reinstate the ML godly powers the FL must make the ML choose her instead of second FL in one of their lifetimes but both the FL and ML don't have any memory of their past lives and FL doesn't even know that she has this mission until really late in the book

I really wanted this 3rd redemption arc to be longer and more subtle. So previously in the story the ML caused the FL death due to his jealousy but he only regrets it after she is dead. In this arc the now "dead" FL has her soul transferred into another body 3 years after her death and she has a mission to make the ML recognize her within 1 year without telling him or her body will expire. This arc seemed way too rushed. Its less than 40 chapters

but he purposely instigates her clan to rebel and doesn't warn her, lets her get arrested without any special protection and during this time she is poisoned and almost killed. Then he demotes her to the position of a palace maid so the concubines can bully her. Later she is imprisoned after angering him and he lets concubines bully her while shes in prison. Then finally he sentences her to death, r*pes her before the execution and she dies

If I had to nitpick, I wish the magical/supernatural (?) aspect could have been more developed/explained, because I really want to know more about the magic, the gods and the celestial realm and the war that was supposedly going on. I haven't read the other novels by Mo Wu Bi Ge like Chuan Qi though, so maybe they go more into the backstory and mythology.

the MC can't tell the ML some apparently huge secret cause it will cause him to die. I mean... if you are telling him alone, he can just choose to keep silent about it? Why will it lead to his death if only he and a few people know about it? He doesn't seem the kind to commit su*cide either and clearly has shown he will do anything to stay with the MC. It just doesn't add up. I wonder what huge secret it is and how the author plans to justify it.
