It actually has more depth and intricacies in it that you think it'll have. Also, it's rare for this type of setting to have a Male Protagonist for an MC and not be Yaoi or a harem one.

MC is quite commendable and intricate character, I guess. I mean, he shows character of being a wise emperor even in his first life. I like that he wasn't foolish and tried to make amends in this life type of things but rather wise but not given opportunity type of person.

Although, at some point he wasn't so democratic as it seems. I mean, there's a part of the story line where he welcomes the victims of disaster and at some point he seems apathetic of the casualties of that groups. But I do understand that, it's inevitable, he can be emphatic as he wants yet he couldn't bring them back to life.

Next is the way he handles things, he never shows any sort of shortcomings after rebirth which I like cause what's your rebirth for if you were as fool as you are in your last life, right? This is something that lack in most of the rebirth stories I've read. They seem to lack the awareness and tack they should have after a living a life of betrayals and mistakes.

And also, the part where he reminiscences the past, it's so touching. Like he prevents that to happen but at the same time he never forgets the hardship and meaningful memories he made from that life. Like the catching of bird that the FL did in their last life. I really like how he gives importance to the people he had in those times.

Also, I might want to add how commendable Shouxi's character is. How he remains loyal in this life and last life especially. For me, although the glimpse of the past life is short, it's heartbreaking, especially how he did thankless things for MC given their circumstances, and how he died alongside them 🥹 all he did was being loyal to his master and yet he died an unjustified death alongside them.

Next is some parts that, I think deserves more of an answer? Like who is the real princess? Like the princess that takes over Lu Yining? I was expecting of another arc about her back ground but they decided to keep it as it is.🫤

Anyways, it's a good read overall. I did enjoy it.
