When they were studying, Ding Meng was a student who excelled in studies, whilst Qiao Yi Chen was a problematic student who constantly helped to raise the class average score. Every single time they took an examination, Ding Meng would scold Qiao Yi Chen like a dog.

When they got married, Ding Meng was a rookie singer who had just entered the entertainment industry, whilst Qiao Yi Chen was a golden producer who produced innumerable hits. Every single time they recorded a song, Qiao Yi Chen would scold Ding Meng like a dog.

…… The Heavens have never spared a single person from its wrath.

This is a story that details the male lead’s journey in empowering the female lead to lord over the entertainment industry, whilst conveniently capturing her heart simultaneously.

My 3rd novel reading from the universe. Overall, the novel is somewhat similar to the other, it's cute and fluffy without any troublesome. The plot is simple, no much drama.

I skipped some of the epilogue. Overall, it's a good light reading :)

Not bad. Their relationship progressed slowly enough that it didn't feel like love at first sight and yet fast enough that it didn't feel like it was dragged out by misunderstandings or unnecessary drama. I appreciate that for the most part the story didn't have any. The only thing I will say is that the MC is a lil too OP, like she got too amazing too quickly, but oh well it was still okay. I would've liked to see more of the friendships in the story.

Also, I absolutely did... more>> not read that last extra, hmph.
Spoiler

Gu Xin x Sima XiaoXiao!!! And they'll have a baby for Qiao MuHan!!!

Fluffy, lighthearted, and saccharine sweet. Not a bad love story in the beginning, but very quickly loses dramatic tension and becomes nauseatingly monotonous in its lovey-dovey atmosphere after the relationship successfully launches.

Sweet, but hard to care about characters. They pretty much embody easy mode.

Cute, fluffy, and a lovely read. I'm not one for overly sweet or cheesy novels, but despite the showbiz factor there was something endearingly genuine about this one. I smiled through the whole thing.

Went and read the raw using Google translation, the ending was good! I enjoyed it but also wished there was a bit more drama to the story. But overall the novel is good and I think the couple are cute!

Marriage... I think the premise to make it work is to know a little bit of each other before engaging with someone else. If you start a marriage and skip all the courtship and the boy-girl friend thing it is hard to know if that relationship will work and is no-one fault to fill the expectation of anyone but is your responsibility to negotiate between what can you or can not do between both.

The ML and FL are whole words apart they are too different so this make really hard... more>> for them to compromise, this is the very first emotional /love /relationship /experience for both so they are learning. For me the divorce is a most if they want to make it work they have to go to square one and live the process of courtship and learn to communicate like he express in this part

Spoiler “
Spoiler

Honestly, we both needed some space to grow up. Both Yang Wei and I had never been in love before getting married. I did not court her, and did not even propose. This is her great regret, and I am willing to fill in this blank for her”

[collapse]

So maybe for others is hard to swallow how can you just decide marriage and divorce like a child play but sadly in the society we live today relationships are plastic and easy to end so I want to see this novel as a criticism to those marriage that maybe started not for “love” but for the responsibility and the following rules that most of people listen. And also how they say “distance make the heart grow founder” when you are not together you may realize all the good things (also bad things) that you may take for granted or never take the time to get to know about the other person.

Spoiler:

“Darling, I never wanted to divorce you right from the beginning. I was hoping that learning to draw might help me learn more about you."

for me this express the compromise of taking time to really know the artistic part of her wife.

“He had realized then that they had never been able to sit down and just talk.... Well, he had really wanted to talk to her, but he had never been able to find a topic, so he always defaulted back to Goldbach.”

they did not have a common point or haven’t find it yet so the misunderstandings toke place.

Things that I did not like spoiler:

-The ambiguity with the movie star when asking him out and for dinner. for me it doesn’t have any sense and even if she lied to him he was really mannerless he could just explain and leave and that’s it (of course I lately dislike that girl for being shameless but well the autor just provide us with the cannon folder aura for this one)

-The effects of a second ML that is so sweet! but we all know he is just the second male lead.

-pregnancy in romance novel when they haven’t resolve the state of the relationship is forceful and I personally dislike it.

Things that I really like the FL personality and ways of teaching.

She is not ambiguous with the Second male lead she is very clear about what she is feeling and in which point she is with her husband (she does not know if remarriage is going to work so she give her Ex a chance to try).

If you in real life what to chase after someone that just break up that maybe will not work because we have to grieve the end of a relationship too and improve and heal oneself. (Second male lead) <<less

Not bad but personally not my favorite from Chestnut.

After reading 3 straight Chestnut novels am beginning to lose interest in a way cuz it's all becoming too predictable.

I do appreciate the universe created though and fun fact sometimes I forget Mo is a fictional character, he's mentioned in every other novel and it tickles me everytime he's referred to by wives and girlfriends who are ALL just so crazy about him ha ha!

It really is the story of the most PDA spreaders...

While reading CEO Song and Pei Ying's story, I read one netizen's comment on the story that Yicheng and Mengmeng spread more sugar. And I admit it 🥹🥹

Our ML is one of the most shameless Chesnut characters 😭😭🥹🥹 really!!! He chases after his wife so epically! Of course he's our best producer!!!

This is a Showbiz story set in romance, because from the beginning of the story the author describes Mengmeng's struggle to become an amazing singer. But it's worth it, their... more>> way of getting together is so sweet, our Yicheng is consistent with his glamor 🥹🥹

Contract marriage, I was worried at first, there will be strange unpleasant things! But that problem was solved very sweetly 🫶🫶

There are no overly annoying characters in this story. It was really the kind of light story that makes you want to have fun. For some people, try to read reviews with high stars, because sometimes the reason someone gave 1 star doesn't make sense.

And thanks to the translator's hard work to finish this story 🫶 <<less

i dropped this at chap 45, same reason with another reviews saying its coercion and im not comfortable with it. But then I picked it up one month later to give it another chance bcs the rate is higher than average so im curious as to why. But still, FL is overly passive ... more>>
Spoiler

she is more like give in to ml's desire, and didnt enjoy it. Whereas it should be both sides

[collapse]
the other reason bcs I think this story lacks of research. I don't see a taurus traits at all, except for liking snacks. Its like the author casually found taurus is a foodie so they just put her as taurus. <<less

Everything in the story was natural and going in great development until their marriage came out in public.

I wonder what the author was thinking using that kind of method when their marriage come out. Suddenly forcefully inserting an unreasonably hateable character in the scene just to start a conflict made it lame and unnatural. It lacked creativity, though I know the story is pretty cliche. It was hard continuing the story after that.

I would have rated this 5 star if not because of that.

But of course the translation is a... more>> 10/10. The translator is so informative and did a lot of research which I highly appreciate. <<less

As expected of Chestnut's novels, I'd say. The fluffs are to be expected, but what amazed me is the music world here. I actually wished to hear the songs here while reading the novel and I was amazed by how the writer wrote her grand final at the competition. Truly good stuffs.

Sweet cute light-hearted romance starting from when they were already adults. ML is a tyrant at work but sweet (and later pe*verted) at home. Feelings were not really mentioned, so it was unclear how they ended up falling in love, and it's pure speculation on our part, but otherwise it is quite cute. It felt more like a "natural progression of things since we're already married" rather than actually falling in love though. Overall, decent light read for some fluff.

It is a beautiful and heart warming story. 🤠 (there are some parts which will annoy you, the parts are of ML...😏)

It is a interesting story with great plot. I might guarantee you will like it if you enjoy this types of genres.

I remember, that I read a comment " this story feels interesting from the first chapter and you will get urge to know what happens next"

I feel that, that comment justify it after I read it. 🙂

Going to read it again after some months...

The synopsis didn't really strayed off of the novel's plot and nature. I guess I was a bit (just a bit) disappointed because I initially thought the story's timeline would start around their middle school time.

I'm actually not sure of what I feel. I find it boring but the kind that still made me want to see it through its ending. There's not really enough character development between the characters. Idk if the improvement in skills count but regarding the overall character and personality, I didn't see it. They're both... more>> steady. In the aspect of romance, I'm quite disatisfied with how the 'love' was not properly established. In my opinion, they're not really childhood sweethearts but just close friends. The few extras from the time of their middle school era also didn't show that romantic feel so I expected them to grow some awareness by the time of their marriage BUT it kind of went like a chapter have passed and ML suddenly love her. Excuse me??? There's not even much interaction that can support it. He just suddenly showed jealousy out of nowhere and then starts loving her. They didn't even interact that much to trigger those emotions in my opinion. Then Ding Meng just also kind of went through with it. Sigh.

I would've understood it if the author outright clarified that they're childhood sweethearts, or if the author clarified Yichen being in love. However, the author never really clarified it. The extras were also not reliable in that aspect. I also think that Ding Meng's career went too smoothly and the only hurdle that can be considered to be a challenge was the marriage being exposed. She's an overachiever for a rookie singer who just months ago was learning the basics.

Anywayyyyy if you're looking for something light then go for this but I suggest that you don't expect for well polished details, drama, and even love rivalry bec it doesn't exist. <<less

the story is hilarious. The MCs interactions gave so much laugh.

it's lighthearted and funny. No angst whatsoever. Multiple time I'd thought that some character would create drama but nope. Also romance has no build up.

Honestly this is okay... but after all reading I think 8 chestnut novels.. is that my head aches for that parents force their children to marry trope... and that arrange marriage or marriage for convience.. they treat this only for fun and parents who force their children to get married is so toxic. They wish that their children will be happy but they are more likely to be a divorcee after a useless marriage..🙄🙄

Really my head aches reading this kind of repetetive troupe. Fluff scenes it could be good but... more>> not the toxic parents <<less
