Oh well, I think people are expecting too much from fantasy light novels these days. I didn't have too many expectations so I enjoyed it. I don't want others to have the misconceptions mentioned in other reviews so I'm listing them so that you know these things didn't happen.

  1. There's no harem. There's no romance even. They are too busy fighting. They don't have time for that. There are only two female characters and they look very beautiful. One was part of his old life and they were friends. He was a little bit interested in her but it didn't really amount to much in previous life. This life, he likes someone else. She's Korean too. And there's no drama. Like, literally nothing happens until the last chapter and we read the epilogue.
  2. Stats. The reason he doesn't KO the bosses is because they are supposed to be killed with a team of 10 or 5. Even if we get to the later chapters, boss fights do take some time from him but he grows gradually. Compared to others, how strong he is will be described as part of his introspection in chapters. It's very clearly shown. Also, their stats grow progressively along with the strength of the boss monsters they face and the people who can't make that cut will be eliminated. And him running around is with the help of items. So it is very possible for them to finish searching the map.
Cons: The ending was so rushed. It could quite literally be double the size it was and be spectacular. But I rated it 5 because I really liked the concept and the way he fights. It was very exhilarating to read. Even though it was an old novel, I somehow was extremely satisfied when I finished it. Maybe because I know that it's an old one and at... more>> that time, for this genre, it was good enough for me. If this kind of book is released now, I would be complaining a lot about the rushed ending but it is understandable if it was 5 years ago. I'm saying this because the web novel industry is more mature now even though it's not perfect. Like I said, I didn't have high expectations from such an old book. And it delivered exactly what it said in summary. It was a pretty generic RPG novel.

Repeat, my 5 star rating is entirely based on my subjective satisfaction after finishing it. It wasn't an exceptional piece of work by any means. However, it wasn't a 2 star tr*sh novel either. <<less

It lacks as much as it has succeeded. A unique experience were it's a good story despite many faults.

The author wrote very bare bones. Little outside of constant fighting/stats. Characters/world-building/plot/romance are all on the back-burner. Despite this my attention was held to the end.

The author has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth. Some comments may be offputting. Also he has the GUY FROM NEW YORK order Chicago pizza. Absolutely ruined my immersion of the character.

There are better KR dungeon novels out there but this one wasn't bad.

I can't bring myself to read any more of this novel. It's horrendously boring. The fights aren't detailed whatsoever, to the point where it's just the main character dodging a few attacks, cutting off a limb, repeat. On the same note, there is nothing descriptive about this novel. The world building is also horrible, in the sense that it doesn't exist.

Furthermore, I have no idea how stats work. The average stats for strength, dexterity, endurance, etc is 10. 10 is what the average human is. So, naturally, when the main... more>> character starts getting to the realm of 800+ dexterity, you would expect that would mean he is 80x faster than a normal human. However, this is hardly mentioned throughout what I've read. It was even implied that this was in the realm of being human. So how the hell do stats work? Does dexterity not increase movement speed? Not only that, but I'm confused with the amount of random mob villains/idiots that survived in this novel. First of all, 99.9% of humanity was killed in the first few rounds. So naturally, you would expect that everyone is relatively okay at combat/teamwork. After all, the main character went back in time and is barely managing to fight the boss solo. However, that is not the case. Theres so many random mob villains and people who will sit there as a sword is flying at them, it's insane.

Now as for the main character... he exists. Hes also an idiot. He seems to be cold towards people who are weak/incompetent, and neutral towards those who are competent. His personality isn't really memorable.

The plot in this novel is also shallow. It feels like they are just copy and pasting a rough outline of every raid then adding in a few noteworthy things.

Overall, this novel isn't all that great. I would normally read a bit more but the reviews about the ending are putting me off as well. <<less

Honestly, I was really into it up until the end. The entire time, I quite liked the plot and the people K interacted with- he runs into different people, and it's one of those obviously OP MCs who sort of have all things going for him. But I really liked the world building, and the game reality they were trapped in. Also, the MC's abilities, even if OP, usually have a comedic factor following it (such as when he went headhunting). Like, I fell in love with the world more... more>> than with the plot tbh. The underground merchant, the idea you can switch titles, the levels and holy sh*t the DRAGON like I was so obsessed with the dragon mother. There's this, , , sort of Lovecraftian unknown associated with them who clearly have a foot outside of this reality, but then-

The author never elaborates on them. The author sort of just??? The ending never tied anything together, didn't really??? Oh my god? Like? They left so many unanswered questions, and the MC doesn't even question it again!! Like what???
Spoiler

and what about the time-turning thing like WHAT WAS THAT? That entire ability for a mortal to mess with time like huh?

[collapse]

yeah. I. It's one of those where I love the world, but have no like : (idk. I loved the world, had less interest in the cast or plot past the 'overarching plot' that feels unknown to the characters. <<less

A solid 5 from me. It's pretty small but I truly enjoyed it.

If you love novel like solo leveling then you should like it too This one is not as good as solo leveling but still good enough. Give it a try if you want.

Spoiler

Happy ending but could be better if he hold his power, MC is cool headed, Powerful from the start comparing to others, little bit romance.. At least he got a girlfriend and the feelings developed slowly

It was a solid read that rather than on story it focused on levelling up and cool raids.

Ultimately though it's a one man show and endless non-stop raids with very little storyline get tiring.

The side characters do gain some relevance eventually but because of the rushed ending, they hardy have any character development or importance in the story.

The ending of the story is rushed... rushed to the point that rather than story, it feels like you read bullet points that author made. Everything is skipped, including the raid that MC... more>> originally died at... and also the so called final raid which MC is preparing for this entire time so far.

What should've been the climax of the story is skipped, leaving readers with disappointing conclusion.

Ultimately, MC doesn't really get proper conclusion or final development. We don't get any sort of answers either.

Spoiler

Let's not even mention that the entire storyline is pointless. Not only because we get "It was all just a dream ending" but also because 'the last player gets restart" mechanic.

This game had no BAD ENDING. There was but one conclusion from the very start. The humanity would continue to repeat the loop, over and over again until one regressor finally succeeded.

[collapse]

So ultimately it's a solid read with disappointing ending. Worth reading if you are bored but I would recommend dropping it towards the end. <<less

Pretty enjoyable ride but it seemed like it should have continued to explore more world and secrets. This book has only questions, no answer.

So if you are someone like me keen continuing until there is no secret, it would become one of questions that will make you restless at the night

Lol writing is korean style and yea this style sucks so hard I mean I dont know who will rate this 5 stars I mean people who havent read any novel? Or people who like agt mga?.

Very shallow writing nothing descriptive and nothing to set the atmosphere. World building is shallow like many other KR novels. Its very very shallow novel. What I mean by shallow is writing is horrendous how can anyone think this is good? Does this even qualify as a novel ? More like memo of MC... more>> who is f*cking op.

Even agt mga is better than this crap. At least their author can write much better even though story is shit. <<less

I love this Novel. It may not be very special or something, but it tells the story straight and doesn't try to be deeper than it actually is. The Ending is very satisfying. I would have loved to read more of it

(sorry, I'm still learning English)

Below average novel. Story was decent and conclusion of the story was good too. If only, author spent more time on it, novel would have been good. Boring side characters.

What the hell was with that ending? Author wrote about the final fight in only 2 paragraphs. There were total of 21 dungeons that MC and others had to clear to survive. And author wrote about final 3 dungeons in 5 short chapters. As you can see it's definitely a rushed ending.

I don't know why... more>> some people rated it so highly! <<less

Simple overpowered MC.

It’s all about the past & present, with a unique plot that’s amazes us about why it happen in the past, and what to proceed on to change it.

Sometimes, ignorance is a bliss.

It was a good read..

The pacing is good and the characters revelation is also nice..

It's not too heavy and easy to read for most people..

There is this Korean novel The World after the fall, it's to heavy, and trying to continue reading is a chore..

But this novel can provide nice binge reading experience..

Very good novel.

It's short.

Engaging story.

Minimal drama.

Not too cliché.

Good cast.

Perfect for when you're fatigued by binge-reading other novels and just want to chill.

Plot holes too small to care about.

Translation quality is marvelous.

It's not a masterpiece but I enjoyed reading it very much. I'd recommend it.

Perfect score because its all good points and negligible bad points.

No, I will not apologize for this method of writing.

I hope you all have a day as pleasant as you are.

The MC was Super rude to his teammates and seemed just unable to communicate like a normal human being. I get that survival is most important and he doesn’t necessarily have to help other human beings all the time, but the way he treats that one person who called him teacher and wanted to be taught how to fight more efficiently by him and has never shown any malicious intent to him just especially put me tf off. He treats his words like gold, but his words arEnt gold. plain a**holery, but don’t worry he isn’t like that to just anyone. He’s like that to everyone!

i feel like at some point author is gonna put an easily angered character and have him make a move at MC bc of his sh*t attitude and everybody’s gonna side w MC bc. He’s. MC.

maybe that’s just a flaw planted for character growth but it doesn’t really make sense bc he should already have grown in the first ‘life’ of being in the competition.

props to TL for listening to readers and reporting any mistakes to the author that their editor didn’t catch, as well as great translation <<less

Overall, this novel has a simple and decent story, but nothing mind blowing or very original - just the short description shows everything you need to know, MC goes back in time after being killed in a place where all of humanity was sent.

Not a great reading time, however I was entertained.

A few of my issues with the story:

... more>> 1) Very repetitive - MC goes from raid to raid following the same pattern throughout the enire novel, since it's a shorter novel this is bearable.

2) Stat system - most novels that use this form of system - with STR, VIT, etc. - Usually just show a bunch of numbers that doesn't mean a lot to readers that just keep increasing and fill word count. This novel is no exception to this rule.

3) Side characters - they were very superficially introduced to what were their motivations, peronalities, background, etc. <<less

At the beginning,

this novel looks promising and fun to read. The concept of the raid is interesting and smart.

but in some point,

the story become raid and raid only,

doesn't show other game system. It's a shame that the story still has many potential unexplored, other side characters are a bit boring. The ending is lacking and feel's off. It's too rushed and not making sense.

Spoiler

The MC doesn't suspect a thing about the whole problem roots and try not to understand it. He just went with the flow.

Overall,

I still recommend this novel to pass time. <<less

It's a power fantasy through and through.

Pros:

-raids system is interesting

... more>> -narration is often changing its point of view when action is boring (it doesn't help to flesh out characters though)

-quality translation

Cons:

-the main character is narrow-minded and not so smart

-RPG stats are hard to follow (numbers are insane, and there is no reference to what they give)

-the story is repetitive (fights and stats distribution started to annoy me after the 10th raid or so)

-almost nothing happens besides fighting since the main character is s*upid and raids are isolated into separate worlds by the author (MC isn't trying to explore the world or to find the truth earlier than allowed, though he has ability and means to do so)

-romance is thin (it's almost non-existent to the extent that it doesn't deserve "Romantic Subplot" tag)

-characters are twodimensional and often featureless

-the author doesn't understand what random things 7.53 billion of people are able to do while repeating the same process again and again

To me, it looks like the author made a really interesting concept, but failed to explore it and rushed the ending. It's ok to read this novel when you want to kill some time. <<less

MC seem inconsistent in his attitude towards others, one paragraph he doesn't care, the other one he's already all-in on 'friendship is magic'.

Luck is off the charts, on the level of plot armor even.

A book geared towards teenagers and excitable readers. A light-hearted read especially for those who don't tend to scrutize the plot or don't need characters with a bit more depth.

The power-ups are overpowered and the MC suffers for little to no deviations.

Finally finished reading this wonderful series, I would like to thank the author and the translators who worked so hard on this. The ending, though seemingly slightly rushed, was far more satisfying than I could have hoped for. No wishy-washy ending like Shieldbro. Only one true ending that leaves a bit of an open-ended feeling but generally everything gets resolved.

There was only one question I had left after the end which is:

Spoiler

What the heck is God's Judgement and why did they make this type of raid system to enact it?
