Shi Chan is an omega with exceptional beauty and a remarkable fiancé. He was once seen as a winner in life, just waiting to marry his fiancé when he turned twenty.

However, on the eve of his twentieth birthday, this exceptional fiancé—whom he had only met a few times—suddenly announced that he was marrying another omega.

According to the rules, once the deadline arrived, Shi Chan was genetically matched by the system and assigned an alpha husband who had also reached the deadline—Xi Ming, a violent, cold man with crippled legs.

Xi Ming was a criminal of the Empire. His mistakes led to the loss of the border and severe civilian casualties.

After returning severely injured, Xi Ming became disabled, his brain was damaged by radiation, his energy uncontrollable, and his temperament increasingly violent and cruel.

The Xi family had long put out word seeking an omega to soothe Xi Ming’s mental instability, but no omega was willing to marry this imperial criminal.

Xi Ming, 28 years old, had reached the last deadline to marry as an alpha. His genetic data automatically entered the matching pool. Months later, the system notified Xi Ming that he had been matched with an omega and that they were required to marry within a year.

Everyone believed that the timid omega would be scared to death or tortured by the mentally unstable Xi Ming.

However, later on, people discovered that the violent alpha, whom no one dared to approach, was tightly holding the hand of a beautiful omega by his side.

Overall the writing is just ok, imo the MC doesn't get enough moments to shine despite being the literal miracle plot device that cures incurable space cancer. And also a beauty so gorgeous that it makes your brain freeze. And also an S-class omega that could overpower all Alphas & pilot a mecha with ease. And also also, the magical cultivation toolbox that can reverse all curses & turn invisible & perfectly disguise you & do just about anything else you'd need in a pinch, really. Is it just because... more>> he's too op that he doesn't get to really do anything? Like, I understand that the main driving conflict is ML's revenge story, but this really does read like the ML is holding MC back, and the MC just forever indulges him.

It feels like this story started as a typical feel-good, face slapping, dog food BL but then veered off course into much darker themes. There are spades of gender exploitation in all sides of the three way war in this story, and thinking too deeply about it just makes me uncomfortable. The least problematic is MC/ML's side, because the MC is willing to do anything ML asks, but both of them acknowledge that ML can be toxic, controlling, and possessive. It's literally just because MC likes him & doesn't really care about his personal freedoms that MC can continue to indulge his alpha. The normal Omega reaction would be to feel suffocated & trapped by the Alpha's rule & the uncontrollable feelings that developed due to the AO bonding.

The empire that they defected from forces all Omegas to get married by 20 - despite average people having a lifespan of 200 years. And also despite the overwhelming disadvantage of Omegas in AO bonds, where the Alpha can live just fine without them but the Omega will start their periods monthly heat cycles after being marked. Most literally can't live without their Alpha anymore unless they take mountains of drugs for the rest of their lives. And since there's not much higher education or job opportunities for Omegas outside of marriage, there's really no way out for them.

The federation uses all these examples of oppressed Omegas as propaganda, but behind the scenes, they're using them just as much, having trained & raised so many Omegas into spies. Without regards to how much these Omega spies would suffer from the disadvantages of an AO bond, they make them seduce top Alphas & sneak intel back to sabotage the war. Some of them aren't even willing to sell their bodies to the targets, but nevermind their personal feelings. It's all necessary sacrifices for the sake of the country that kidnapped & brainwashed them as children.

Maybe the point of this story is simply that war is goddamn awful no matter how much either side tries to justify it, and it's better to just end the fighting as soon as possible. That's what the ML does, and he's supposed to be the hero of this story, no matter how bitter. <<less

The overall plot and idea are good, however, the construction of story is a lil lacking. I like that the personality of characters are consistent based on their past experiences (insecure and distrustful).

Overall, it is satisfactory

the main character exhibits a calm demeanor and, although occasionally lacking in understanding, demonstrates intelligence. The male lead's character is portrayed as cold yet deserving of respect.

The romantic development seems somewhat rushed, as emotions appear to emerge unexpectedly.

It does feel somewhat peculiar to introduce cultivation concepts within an interstellar context, yet it remains engaging.

for me initially, there was a strong interest, but it gradually diminished over time.

While I feel that the pacing is a little odd at times (the relationship felt a bit fast paced, but that could just be a case of both knowing what they want) it’s very nice to see the MC and ML be true to themselves. Also, the ML is concerned with consent and treating the MC right, with the ML even asking for Mac’s consent aloud (this may seem like a low bar, but with a lot of BL novels this isn’t the case at all). The ML is definitely... more>> possessive, perhaps to a bit of an unhealthy degree, but he does carry respect for MC <<less

To be honest it feels like a cerebral bubble gum. It's not bad, but that's it and the taste is kinda fading. ML is at the same time unhealthy and quite respectful. MC is a petite lil' flower and a powerhouse. Cultivation in sci-fi is a fun idea but also feels kinda jerky.

I mean it wasn't bad enough to drop it, but for sure not good enough to reread it.

Also something that I didn't like from very beginning. Yeah, it's perfectly realistic and believable that society with mandatory marriage age... more>> would be unfair to childbearing gender, but still I can't help but feel annoyed that deadline for alphas is 28 and for omegas is 20. I guess thanks that it's not 18.

'But it's realis!..' - it doesn't have to be. In the sci-fi universe where men live till 200 and can give birth, their clocks very well can tick a little slower.

Ultimately it doesn't matter, because MC remembers his pas life, so it's not like he is really 20. Just.. Annoying. Feels like autor did it just to force a 'conventional' BL age gap. <<less
