I reccomended this to everyone I know, lmao.

Genuinely my favorite CN so far.

I always keep my expectations low when I read CN but this was really good.

... more>> Typical cultivation story with hints of le medical knowledge tag.

ML is incredibly considerate of the MC's feelings even with the black belly tag that he acquired. Like, genuinely respectful towards him. It was super refreshing to see.

I dislike the second lead unlike a lot of these reviews but I can see why you might like him.

It touches on triggering topics as expected from a CN, but the novel didn't traumatize the MC for the sake of it.

The author seems to care quite a bit about the plot. Mature scenes are also all cencored out. Slow burn romance but overall a fun read if you want a light read. :D <<less

I`m literally obsessed with this. Not only is the plot very well written, but I also appreciate some non conventional details the story and characters have (such as the gong 1 being a yandere, or the feisty-brute-aggresive personality of gong 2. All of this while the shou doesn´t even know what´s going on lol). I´ve read tons of BL xianxia and this is definitely recommended :)

Be prepared to feel sorrows even everything seemed lighthearted and a bit cute.

I only read up till 27 yet I already have an anxiety over ML being mistreated again 😢. I just want him to be happy, and destroy everything that made him miserable. So sad 😞 but luckily MC would take good care of him so I don’t have to worry too much and stop my reading here because my already fragile heart can’t take any more of those ab*ses.

A masterpiece of a novel! Wonderful characters, Yue Wuhuan is so tragic and twisted in a sad way but all his thoughts are so relatable and understandable. MC, Song Qingshi is very cute and smart but can't communicate well with people which is also an interesting trait.

I love how their cultivation is portrayed, for example, Song Qingshi is a mix of two fires and poison and his cultivation is on the cold side to balance fires. Yue... more>> Wuhuan leans more in the wood spectrum, with poisonous vines. They're such an awesome combination, I can't wait for their further development. <<less

Great story!! The author thought well in the role of each characters and the step by step ML's salvation. If I were really the ML I woudn't wait for years of being humiliated and I would definitely plan several ways to die from the hand of others (since he couldn't kill himself). Reading this is like putting knife in my chest several times. I also like the other characters.

Downside for me is the MC. The author failed to fully portray the comedic part and ML's salvation. I find it a... more>> little lacking due to MC's characterization. I somewhat agree with @XYJ. I love it! I mtled it because the plot was interesting.

I love both MC and the ML.

There is a reason for why MC is cold. He loves to read and don't know how to communicate with others.

ML suffered a lot. There were many times where I almost cried.

But don't worry it's a HAPPY ENDING!

I recommend it ^_^

The MC’s clueless most of the time but he knows exactly what he strives for and isn’t afraid to pursue it. He’s all for the ML’s behavior and supports him in everything, takes care of him, would do anything for him. The ML’s a victim of s*x trafficking, he’s wary of the MC at first but ends up being heavily obsessed, there’s this contradiction between wanting the MC and the MC being ‘pure’. The plot twist at the end where the MC waited over 3000 lives is insane work, he’s devoted^2, and the ML is also equally that. A blue, white stone and a phoenix.

Wasn't bored.

Sometimes even reading the really good stories you can feel like you want to skip this and that to get to the good parts (of course you don't skip), but this was great.

I wish I could read more about the side couple (s). We all know that some love birds that remind us of LWJ and WWX will be together.

MISVIL is really good. For most of it, I was invested but not super attached to the story. But then in the last two chapters, a lot of things happen and get revealed that put everything in a new light, and that made me like it a lot more. I feel like it's actually the book version of Everything Everywhere All At Once (if you haven't seen that movie, it's very trippy but fantastic). It gets progressively more trippy as it goes on. The same scenario keeps repeating in modified... more>> ways, and with several layers of reality. It's in 3 sections. The first one is extremely intense, and then the 2nd and 3rd are super trippy... though the 2nd feels like a suspense thriller and the 3rd feels mostly like a rom-com, with epic action/fantasy/drama at the end. And everything gets explained, in such a way that I definitely want to read it again in the context of this new overarching information that puts basically all the events in a new light!

Mind the trigger warnings; the first half especially has a lot of references to s*x s*avery and general ab*se and the gong trying to recover from the severe trauma of that, with the shou's help. The author handled the trauma aftermath very realistically, which I was really impressed with. It does have a happy ending.

The FTL is amazingly good. My only gripe was that "I like you" is written in parts where it obviously means "I love you." Maybe "like" is the literal meaning of the Chinese word used (maybe as it is in Japan?) but in English it doesn't mean nearly as much as "love." But "I love you" was used for what a s*ave owner was saying to his favorite s*ave, so that makes it an even more odd choice for the main couple. Especially since the phrase is used as a big part of a plot point in their relationship. Other than that, bravo FTL'er, and I hope whenever it gets licensed, they are hired for it.

The only other thing I wish was different is the s*x scenes. I knew there weren't explicit scenes but the vague references in this are so dry and factual that they did nothing to bring me into the scene. Even with 'fade to black' the things leading up to that are more interesting in other danmei I've read. But in MISVIL it's more like "they did a lot of wild things in bed" factoids. It's mainly disappointing because they are really in love and the male lead does have such amazing skills and they both have very exotic tastes, so it sets you up for expecting a bit more to get the feelings behind it, even if it's not explicit (which I wish it were). <<less

This is an extremely well-plotted story with complex characters with realistic motives and growth arcs. The writing is often beautiful, vivid, and heartbreaking. So much research and knowledge on multiple topics went into this novel—medicine, psychology, mythology—and the setting is truly fleshed out. My only gripe is that side characters don’t get enough screen time and there are some amazingly interesting side characters in this! The dynamic, history, and development between the MC and ML is so satisfying. I don’t want to spoil a single thing about this work it’s... more>> just truly incredible. I understand why people are hesitant to read this because of its dark themes, but for me, this novel’s construction is the pinnacle of Xianxia Danmei. (And of course, the love story is beautiful). <<less

My thoughts: It was a beautiful story and HE! Admittedly, I initially struggled to engage with it, setting it aside twice before. However, I’m now glad that I gave this novel another chance. So if you’re on the fence about reading it, I wholeheartedly suggest giving it a try; you might just find yourself pleasantly surprised!

At the firts 20 chapters I swear I wanted to abandon the story and don't continue suffered about all the traumatic things that the ML pass.

The way that the author make a new world full of s*laves, r*pe and an endless ab*sed make the story hard for read, and I you aren't into this kind of topic I assure this novel is not for you.

But if you want to read a good story aboud transmigration and a romantic growth between the ML and MC, and the way that they could... more>> do everithing for the relationshipp full of dog's food, this is the correct option.

A book that makes you both cry and laugh will always be a hit for me. A lot of the plot revolves around how a survivor of trafficking and s*xual ab*se try to make a life for himself in a world that is not very nice to people like him. He has help by the MC but he in turn has a slightly autisitic personality and struggles a lot with his understanding of other peoples emotions which leads to many hilarious misunderstandings. What I really like about this book is the many interesting characters who all get fleshed out even of they have small role and they are not the typical kind of heroes and villains either. It’s quite a lot of heavy subjects and many of the characters deals with some sort of phsycological problem so it’s not a book for those who like fluff. If I should give some criticism it is that some parts feels repetative in the later part of the book, those parts do have a point but maybe they could’ve been a bit shortened. <<less

Based on the blurb (and, I now realise, after completely ignoring all the tags on novelupdates), I expected this to be a funny story about a dumb and naive transmigrator MC who is completely oblivious to the ML's villainy, and for the ML to be an out-and-out villain along the lines of a demon king or something. What I got was an intelligent and naive cinna-mu*der-bun MC who is far more aware of things than the people around him realise, an ML who's 'villainy' is mostly justified, a complex plot... more>> with a bunch of twists, and themes of trauma recovery and learning that who you are is not defined by what you had to do to survive. <<less

This book has so many of what I dislike from a plot.

First of all, this is my preference so it won’t be the same for everyone. I see so many enjoyed it so this might be for you. Just not for me.

Now let’s say what I dislike from this book so much.

AMNESIA ARC

This book is divided into 3 arcs, and the last one, the ending — after the climax, we suddenly got back to 0 (okay maybe not 0 since ML has already fallen in love). And the misunderstanding that I hated from Arc 1 kinda restarted again in Arc 3

Also, I don’t mind amnesia if it’s from the start, like the mystery to be unveiled. NOT THE LAST PART WHEN THE CLIMAX HAVE BEEN BUILT. Idk, maybe for the sake of the plot, but I can’t enjoy it at all. I’ve skimmed so many chapters in last arc because of this.

SIDE CHARACTERS

Okay, I love side characters and their stories. But the reason why I love them are because they stay as they are — at the side and for me to focus the main. Like, I don’t need a whole 4-5 chapters describing the side character which imo doesn’t give much to the plot. Aside, well this character has such a sad history blah blah blah

But come on, I spent 70 chapters before the last arc and there also have some side charas but not much. Still, if the author wishes to make them, then put it in extra — not in the main story where I want to enjoy the main couples

Not to mention because of this, I almost forgot what happened to the main because we have like 4/5 chapters describing that Bai (the protagonist shou)

UNRELATABLE MC

I have to relate to the MC if I want to enjoy more of the stories. But for this one, the ML is more relatable. At least something that can be saved from this story for me.

Yes I love naive MC, but too naive and idk, at some point MC just becomes too 2D for me to enjoy.

Also, you said he’s a medical student or sth? But then he didn’t think of, idk, develop a medicine to be used by everyone? Why did it have to be QL who proposed the idea? He’s more of a researcher to me ngl

ADDITIONAL CHARACTER

Oh if that’s not enough, when you’re closer to the ending suddenly the author decided to add a new character. Okay that SJC is not mentioned much but gdi, a new chara when you’re so close to the end???

As of now, I’ve finished it just for the sake of it. Truly disappointed because I have seen many praises for the story and that the first 2 arcs are something I enjoyed. The last part tho...

Well at least the ending manage to save it slightly... still I guess finally I can say I’ve read this...
