What to say about this story.... It was a pretty ok story.

As I started reading this novel I felt it to be bit too plain for my taste. In other words I always felt something missing in it.

Half of the story about early 45 chapters were quite plain, there wasn't single element that aroused my curiosity about the story, in other words it was way too plain. I felt all the characters were 2 dimensional, just simply a normal chapter, it was boring.

But after 50 chapters,... more>> I started enjoying the story may be due to ML and MC's more interaction and the start of their romance. It indeed added a taste to the story, and this was the reason why I continued this story.

It was ok on later parts, I liked MC's and ml's love story they were very supportive of each other, they never interfere in each other's choices. they both had so much respect for each other’s choices. And the best part as others said was LC did not rely on YM to achieve his goals or status.

There was no face slapping or revenge, it was a nice story overall. had his own separate identity.

Thanks author and translators for the hard work. 🙌 <<less

Good novel, bad translation.

If I had to nitpick something I was not too happy about; MC had struggled a lot after he is graduated and after years of bad times and unlucky events he is reincarnated to 9 years before he died, when he graduated.

After this point he is too good at everything. He had really bad time before, but this time he is so intelligent, so funny, so intuitive, so socially adept.. You name it; he is good at that.

And not just good. When he is in a social... more>> situation, he is the best talker there. When in a dangerous situation, he is the best at fighting. When in negotiation, he is the best dealer. When in movies, he is the best actor. THE BEST. Anytime the author narrates a situation, he is the best. And the reason is always something s*upid. Previously he worked at a hotel so he knows etiquette and is at home when talking to rich people. He worked in business sector so he knows how to make deals, he was an agent for a time so he knows acting, the movie industry etc. All of these jobs he was fired before, but now he is reincarnated, it turns out he is actually great at anything even loosely related to that.

I wished he was mediocre at one thing or he said ok, this, I don't know anything about. <<less

I like everything about this novel. The author really maximized the things that should happen when one gets a “second chance”. The romance isnt fast paced and it’s not slow either.

at first the translation is confusing but it really gets better. Thank you translators for giving this novel a shot💖

A simple story of wisely using one's second chance at life. The romance is not too fast paced but we know the gong was already attracted to him early on. It wasn't too sweet but we see their sincerity with each other. I loved their friendship as much as I loved their romantic relationship.

If you want a low-stress read with a calm and smart MC, this one is for you.

I've actually picked and dropped this novel several times due to being dissuaded in the beginning by the confusing translation of the early chapters, although the translations became a bit better later on. I'd probably just give the translation a 3.5 out of 5. It's a light read and although some scenes are too absurd to my taste and I don't like how things become a foil to romance development, I just remind myself that it's just a novel. Still, the plot twist at the latter chapters of the story... more>> did give a nice surprise. <<less

My rating is between 3.5 - 4. The story direction is generally okay, but the relationship between MC and ML are actually very strange from the start.

In the premise that the MC is just an ordinary intern and assistant, he called his boss, the president, for help in such trivial/unrelated matters ... more>>
Spoiler

such as borrowing a sport car for his own film shooting!?

[collapse]
Who in the world would do that!? Even with 10000000x more confidence, no one with a bit of conscience would do that. This doesn't make any sense. I would really thought the MC is actually the president himself if I'm an outsider tbh. 🤦‍♀️ And the fact that he himself said he doesn't want to be a serious entertainer, but still wanted to join in the huge box office movie, and even snatched a very good role with the recommendation of ML. Lol for whatever reason he said afterwards, this is the most hypocrite and ridiculous thing ever. I read until this part and rolled my eyes like hundred times. Didn't he have to work at the company anymore? How come his assistant work is so light? And the description of his politeness and gentleness in every chapters is really uurrg. 🙄 Seriously, he's one of the most pretentious MC I've ever read. Even the characters in system novel that requires a lot of acting could not beat him.

This story really make me speechless. There seems to be so many things happened, but at the same time it feels like nothing has happened at all. The ML is rich and powerful, he handles everything easily, while the MC can basically solve every problem by storming through every incidents with his SUPER HIGH ABILITY. This is ridiculous. Honestly, it may be more enjoyable if I don't know how the company operates and inserts reality into fictional plot. Unfortunately, this story is not for me. I won't recommend it. (But it is alright if you want to kill times though) <<less

I guess it's just a bit too fast pace for me.

MC is op. Looks. Talent. Smarts. Money. Background. He almost has everything. But there's no interesting conflict. The MC is a smart and elegant person with no visible flaws. I'm too tired of these kind of character.

There's no clear background or setting in the story. There's a business part but they didn't go into detail. The MC also became a part-time actor. There's also a thriller mystery moment about the death of mc's parents and someone is targeting MC. But... more>> it's slice of life.

The novel is ok but it didn't really make me interested. Maybe because I read mtl and there are parts I didn't fully understand.

There's no drama at all. I was really interested at first but then my interest faded. It's a feel good sweet story. If you don't want any drama and just want to read somthing then this is ok. <<less

I really like TBaW and ETT, so this story greatly dissapointed me...

MC is hailed as Mr. Perfect but he trully is too perfect to the point it's unrealistic

His luck stat is also too high, the events feels too staged and the ML is too good to the MC too fast

Overall: Average OP/easy-life quality story (the dissapointment is real)

➺ 3.75/5 🌟

As what the title suggested, the MC has been lucky since his rebirth and meeting the ML, a total opposite of what he'd been through in his past life. If you're not into lucky protagonist who seemed to earn a golden finger in life, who can always escape an otherwise fatal situations, you might not like this one.

The plot itself actually has some high stake conflicts but it always felt low stake knowing the MC's luck. There are a few minor villains who come and go very quickly... more>> because the problems they brought couldn't even reached the climax before the MC overturn the situation to his advantage. You might think it's boring to read something when you couldn't even feel anxious for the protagonist, but in my personal preference, I have no problem with it. I always loved lucky protagonists as much as I loved unlucky protagonists who can give you anxiety for their wellbeing.

The romance here is very straightforward. There's no flowery words of confession, just bold sincerity. The confession was almost anticlimactic in a fiction sense but not in a bad way. It felt more realistic without being too emotional. As what the MC said, love confessions on TV are done on TV for a reason. I couldn't agree more. The simple and candid way of doing it is much more in line with the MC and ML's own personality.

That being said, both the plot and romance are interesting but not exactly well fleshed out. It's not tackled too deeply but enough for the length of the novel. I quite liked both the protagonists and even the side characters are very enjoyable to read. <<less

I found it perfectly middling. Nothing that I really loved but nothing I hated either. I think my favorite thing was that the MC's character was consistent.
Spoiler

For example, the MC wasn't ignorant and when the ML was being obvious about his feelings he actually noticed and understood without having to be told. It's frustrating when characters are supposed to be smart but can't tell that the cold, unfeeling CEO whose warm and nice to them alone likes them.

[collapse]
The couple was sweet with a dynamic I enjoyed. I'm just a little disappointed because I think the bones of the story are really strong, the mystery portion just wasn't really paced well and lacked tightness or suspense when revealing information.

A sweet love story by Yue Xia Die Ying. I quite like the romance of this one as the two main characters' personalities are just a match.

The ML is a rational person and he's an introvert in terms of chatting level. Opposite of him is the MC, who is smooth when talking and dealing with others. I love the chemistry between them.

Other characters added a bit of color to the novel, but it didn't delve into it that much.
Spoiler

At the same time, the reason why he undergone rebirth wasn't explained and pretty much just left off.

[collapse]

The main focus is the romance with the conflict. There's only one big conflict at the end, and it wasn't that dramatic, which is good. This kinda dragged off at the middle, but fortunately, the ending made up for it.

Overall, this is a mellow novel with a sweet taste.

First half was done pretty well. Especially the characterisations. Although some descriptions and dialogues were redundant but it didn't really matter much. Also, honestly some supposedly "courteous and charming" lines of MC was slimy and cringe lol. Ie. His lines when he flatters women. But the energy he gives off is still done well and he is really charming.

The latter half though wasn't really up to expectations. The flow of the story came off to me as if unsure how to develop.
Spoiler

Quite a lot of nameless mobs died unnecessarily. Personally, I think the extent of danger and killings were uncalled for. For this type of story. More so if the way the villains were dealt with was so anti-climatic after all those hypes.

I remember reading and dropping this novel because it was boring. I'm always excited when I start a rebirth or QT novel, but this just turned out not that interesting. The interactions between the ML and MC are meh... Nothing interesting goes on... MC working in an office with office colleagues... 0 effort put in the plot. Thnx to the translators though

It was a nice story for the most part. The translation quality hindered my immersion in the story, but the story wasn't bad. The romance was definitely a subplot in the story rather than the focus. At times it was confusing to understand how Lu Chengyu developed feelings for Yan Mu. I've read other novels by this author and enjoyed them a lot, this one just isn't my favorite.

Rarely we meet such a deep and interesting characters like Lu Chengyu and such a pure and still not dull lover like Yan Mu...

This is a very good novel with well developed plot... it’s also well constructed and paced. The development of their relationship and how it changed from a casual meeting -> boss-manager -> love interest -> lover -> deep and stable relationship is very smooth and really natural.

It was a good experience and I found myself enjoying every chapter of it.

Let me tell you... the ending is... more>> so satisfying !!! without spoiling I want to say that he is the winner of life while choosing what type on winter he wants to be. I love how he is stable and confident... not greedy for the things he doesn’t need in his life while taking what he want and need... <<less

I like this story (overall) so much that I want to scream! I like the MC attitude and mindset. Not to mention ML is a malewife (?) material.

Spoiler

However I feel this story lack the part where their love is tested. You know, the typical jealousy, third person and so on. But hey, it makes this story unique. Who ask the author made ML so strong and reliable XD

This novel has it's good points and it's bad. Recommend for anyone who likes slice of life, light romance, and a dash of random drama.

The story was a bit boring at the beginning but the random family drama at the end was too much. The romance was seriously lacking and even at the end I didn't believe our MC deeply loved the ML. Started out as slice of life then turned dog blood drama.

I really liked the MC and the MLs character set ups, just not together. I never felt... more>> like the 2 we're actually a deep in love couple as the "netizens" portrayed them to be.

MC was strong, smart, and a bit shameless which is a nice change. I like that he didn't rely on the ML completely.

ML was cute; strong, cold CEO falling in love for the first time which made him flustered. ML really didn't grow as a character though... except becoming more whipped?

The side characters were okay. The ML's 2 friends were interchangeable, they didn't exactly have their own personalities. I liked how the grandpa didn't understand their relationship but tried to for ML sake. Wish we knew more about the actress that tried to help him and more about his first life attempt.

As for the translation it was... ok. I appreciate the effort. It reads like cleaned up MTL without many explanations. There were some paragraphs that didn't make sense, some sayings used that if you haven't read lots of Chinese novels are difficult to understand and other sayings completely lost their meaning in translation. I mean I got the gist of most of it but there were some places I was just lost.

**Side note that is probably a cultural thing but I didn't get how EVERYONE was weirded out or disgusted by the MC and ML being a couple. Like really there weren't any who were okay with them being gay? I don't understand why so many basically thought "as a straight man I don't understand" I don't know just seemed like they author wanted everyone against them, even some of their friends/acquaintances. Most Chinese novels have only a couple s*upid people who are completely against being gay. <<less

Tried reading this twice, I still can't go as far as I want. It's pretty boring. MC seems to have had his share of bad luck in his original life but because of how the author has now twisted this to show that he's been having great luck in his new life - it just makes him seem like a gary stu. I'm hardly seeing personality, everything he does will get noticed by passerbys/ML and see him in such a good light. LOL half a year in martial arts class... more>> can make him stop a flying teacup with a folder??? There's also too many conflicting attributes given to the MC e.g. Where he is supposedly "mature", but likes to argue on the internet in his private social media account. Idk, I just don't have a thing for bland, op characters. I can tell that this second-life of his will just be used to just take advantage of what he knew from the past, and use it for personal gain, exhibit a: investing in films that initially didnt get enough support, exhibit b: buying stocks in Hua Ding at its lowest. I was really pulled in with the novel art but the personalities are a shame! Don't even get me started with the ML, he's so stoic and stiff, he's really trying his best yes but this romance dynamic is so so cliche I cannot get myself to continue reading. Cold-hearted ML x wallflower MC vibes. Anyway leaving this here so I stop myself from reading it AGAIN for the third try. <<less

Absolutely f*cking beautiful. As expected, Yue Xia Die Ying never lets me down! MC and ML are both mature and smoothly transitioned from being friends to lovers.

I have to say though, ML's attraction towards MC was rather abrupt, but it was done prettily so I have no qualms about it. ML is willing to do everything for MC, but he will not rob him off his responsibilities or whatever (like buying clothes, etc) because he knows MC can stand by himself. He is a loveable ML. This is what I noticed about YXDY, he can always make the ML loveable (even her scummy ancient ML).

MC is also rather mature. My heart aches for his past life, he suffered so much but, I love how he let others pay back for his pain in his current life. He keeps grievance, even the smallest one but returns gratitude tenfold even if they only did a small good thing for him. He's smart and cunning, a fox. He's also quite clear about his feelings. I love his approach towards ML's confession, not lying but not denying his own and ML's feelings.

There might be initial problems with Ml's side of family, and it might seem complicated at first (even I was scared for the result) BUT they quickly recognized MC's hold in ML's heart and recognized his abilities. So they accept him.

My most favorite scene is the airport scene!!!! If you've read it, you will know. So painful yet so delicious!!

My only problem is that the translations may be a bit confusing and I missed a few points (last translator). I almost had a feeling it was MTL'd but it may be due to the editing. The 2nd translator was an MTL'r but I didn't have that much problem so it's okay.

Anyhows, its still so so so good!!!! 11/10!!

Started off quite interesting - super lucky MC who's using his second chance to live a better life. He's mysterious, he's cool, and he's a super nice person.

However, by the time I got half way through, the novel took a nosedive and turned into a really generic face-slapping 'OP MC who does no wrong and is the best at everything' kind of novel. And all of the twists/surprises in the novel didn't even matter because MC didn't even care about it.

Even when MC got together with ML, it was a... more>> really awkward transition. MC went from "I'm so OP that I don't need anyone" to "I won't ever separate from ML" in a blink of an eye. I'm just like ????

The one redeeming factor is the ML. He's like the perfect husband 👌 <<less
