I'm currently at chapter 55 (around the beginning of volume 3) and all I can say is... WOW.

Sh*t just got real.

The story starts off as your typical 'slightly intelligent MC reincarnates into game world' trope but the plot grows to become so much more epic than that.

I was just cruising along when BAM the middle of volume 2 smacks me over the head. And suddenly EVERYTHING is cranked up to 11 and I'm on the edge of my seat in fan-anguish because I so did NOT see the story going... more>> in this direction.

And it's almost midnight and I have class tomorrow and I can't stop reading and I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

#YOLO #noregrets #readerfever #coffeehigh #allnighter #neverstopreading #whoneedseducation #ihavetoomanyhashtagshelpme

And yes, I was high on coffee and sleep deprivation when I took a break from reading to write this review.

And now... Onward to chapter 56. <<less

Full stars all around!

The story and the feels in this book is amazing! I would highly recommend it just for the story in itself and how it compels me to read it over and over again.

There have been very few books that would compel me to read it again and again from the start and still incite tears of joy, laughter or compassion.

Update: I started reading this a few months after it was first released way waaay back in 2015 I used to even dream of it back then I... more>> was that obsessed. With the rate of release though my hope of ever seeing it finished has gone. I still love the book and the MC but I truly doubt this will have an ending. <<less

Excellent slightly-slow paced story. It has a huge amount of world building and character depth. It deserves the high rating it has in ever sense. Even the translation quality is amazing from the very start! Read it... it's definitely an extremely enjoyable story. :)

I don't know, but... it kinda gets boring and a bit stretched at times. I mean... he's still 13, is it too hard to make a time skip? At times it feels like the plot was made on the spot, like how there isn't a conflict so why not make it as if the game plot sped up? The in-game villain suddenly shows up, uwaaah.

If it weren't for Erika, I wouldn't have lasted this long, and even she won't show up any time soon, cause... why the hell not do we make the MC very OP while the rest of the gang are too weak to be considered. Sorry, mainly whining about how Erika is too weak to be given screen because, guess what, she's 13. We don't really know much of the game, and I don't know if it's me that missed the details, but it makes me feel like the game plot sh*t is unrelated to me because I don't know a sh*t about it, and the MC is making such a big deal out of it. It gets boring. MC is too OP, it's a bit unreasonable, well I don't know why it's necessary, but it gets boring, like all we ever know about his strength is that he's strong. By the way, he only imitates game movements, and doing it everyday.

Apparently, that makes him strong. Maybe I should copy Runescape or AQWorlds battle animations so if ever I get transported to another dimension, I don't need a cheat item or a grandpa. Lastly I guess is the characters. Saying it kindly, I can't grow attached to them. A lot of the characters make me irrated. Mostly the ones who overestimate the MC, like Juno (spelling might be wrong), Codey (is this right?), and Vincent. Even the MC himself... I don't know how to express it. I don't particularly like him. Not that I hate him like how I hate the others, but just that he's not likeable enough. All of these are actually personal opinions, and the one true fact is that Erika is waifu, but I can't help but think that the author is somewhat amateurish, or maybe all Japanese Light Novels are like these? By that I mean the plot feels forced. Making her hate him, then making her love him, bla bla bla. Well, I only think she's waifu since... she's just waifu. Just that she had to through that kind of development, which is a bit annoying. So yeah, giving it 2 stars because of Erika, giving it 2 stars becuase the rest of the novel is not particularly interesting.

Not your everyday wimpy JP MC. OP MC, misunderstood coz of his foul mouth, helping people from the shadow, arrogant yet kind in the inside, cute heroine. This is perfect!

Well, this is a pretty entertaining novel.

The MC is an ordinary person who got reincarnated into a villain of a game he played before. He decides to use his knowledge to help solve problems that are going to happen in the future where staying anonymous.

This novel's world building and characters are honestly pretty average, they don't really stand out at all, and the story doesn't really focuses on them.

In this story, drama is a huge part of its element. Due to that, and the author being seemingly a newbie in... more>> writing (or probably just didn't put much effort into the character creation, planning, and world building aspect), the characters are not very developed. And some of the earlier characters got sidelined after the arcs they are involved in are over.

Well, the focus is on drama and not on characters or world building anyway.

Some parts of the novel is a little forced, due to the need for drama and to make the MC unconscious of his own achievements (i.e. LP farming and co.).

This novel has a lot of potential to be a 5 star novel. If the author focuses more on the character interactions and development, I think this novel will be a better read than the current one rn. Besides, since this novel focuses on drama so much, focusing on characters more will also create more opportunity for dramas to be created. But right now, it is simply a "turn off your brain" novel where you read to have fun and not to think. <<less

When I first started reading this I thought it was gonna be another one of that generic isekai that exists out there fortunately that was not the case in this one. Because even though this may have a complex plot it nevertheless delivers the story close to perfection and that's why I'm having trouble understanding why some people don't like this series for reasons such as "Harold didn't prepare enough even though he knows the future". Because as far as I know the MC is just a normal person, and... more>> it can be seen in the things he did in the novel. There are many good points in this novel to point out, but as my English and grammar are not up for it I leave it to someone else to explain why this can get so addicting. <<less

I love how there is a twist that the MC has to act like a actual villain. The fact that what he wants to says will be 10 times worse when they come out of his mouth makes the story stands out from the others isekai novel. I love the type of MC where he/she is transported to a new world and take over a villain body. The only thing that I don’t like about that kind of plot is that the MC can actually changes his/her personallity to a... more>> completely different person which is so annoying like does anyone even question if the villain they knew is a complete different person so that just soooo annoying for me. So this is the perfect novel for me. 100% recomended <3 <<less

It's start's promising and avoids most cringe worthy tropes. Every free female falling for him bothered me but they haven't advanced those plot lines forward so loophole "maybe".

It feels like you would have to be a Masochist to continue reading a story where the protagonist is a constant verbal punching bag to everyone they meet. "Love interests and people directly in their group don't count".

So far the Author lacks a basic understanding of story telling in that the flow of all stories are supposed to have hills and valleys ... more>> (or low and high points) in its "progress" or "tension".

There needs to be points in the story where they are appreciated by those outside the group "even if briefly".

A story that never lets up is closer to "Misery p*rn".

Def: "concerned with the protagonist's triumph over personal trauma or ab*se".

I know that's not quite what is going on here but I feel is fits with the Authors personal ab*se of the MC. <<less

This story is so good. Every character is fleshed out, all important characters are written beyond the first impression and their role in the game MC remembers.

Specially high praise on how the MC behaves and is evaluated by his peers, the leading misunderstandings and his loneliness and despair each time he makes a new decision.

The pace changes drastically at volume 3, and out starts to rely on the 'past' not seen through the time skip. Honestly I love this work

the story is amazing, one of the best isekai anime. I hope the manga version is going well. The tense where MC makes a choice whether to go through the story or make a change and I like how hew make the decision.

The female lead is likable and cute, not a flower brain girl and has reasons to like the MC. Like most other isekais, the author didn't keep MC as a villain only in name. Has shown actions of being a villain. I like how the story is going... more>> amd hope it will get more arcs <<less

3.5/5 I have to say I had a blast reading this. Just that after reading 80+ chapters the story starts feeling repetitive and kinda frustrating with everyone hating MC cause of misunderstanding.

I mean does he really need liner and co to beat Justus? I mean the guys is a recurring boss character that keeps getting stronger each time. IMO he's more than op to fight Justus head on.

Anyways, it was fun while it lasted but the story is going downwards. Right now I'm just reading for the sake of seeing the ending. <<less

An absolutely fantastic novel. Every character feels real and the author writes so well that you can't help but be attached to Harold and certain other characters. The weakest aspect of this novel would be the main antagonist (as their is not much depth to him, at least personally.) and a timeskip arc. But it picks up pretty quickly again once the MC starts interacting with already familiar characters. Either way, great writing, great characters, every character feels real and just a wonderful novel. I feel most people would be... more>> able to actually sympathize with Harold naturally and the writing makes sure that it doesn't feel forced. <<less

This is one of my all-time favorites. It's a funny story with a (not overly) op, intelligent, and highly misunderstood (both as a good person and a bad person) protagonist :D

Some people didn't like the third arc, but I think you should at least read the first two arcs first if that's why you're considering not reading it; even if you don't like the third arc you can still enjoy the arcs before that, unless you're the type that gets invested in the story and characters easily.

Since (obviously) this... more>> is an otome game isekai, you're going to have an MC that knows plot and stuff. The game's system holds a lot of power in this setting, so our MC is controlled by it during the typical cutscenes in the game, and it also forces him to keep the character's original way of speaking. The novel's setting is faithful to the game, right down to the fighting and farming mechanics, albeit adapted to real life (you won't find any game interface-type things in this novel). If you don't like this, I can suggest you not read it, because it does play a role. Despite being of the romance genre, you won't see too much romance in it. Worldbuilding is alright, but not anything super amazing.

Of course, the novel has some flaws (they would be spoilery so I'll refrain from typing them out), but it's still a highly enjoyable time-waster. It's too bad it doesn't update very often. <<less

Definitely in my top 5 isekai. The MC is cold and calculating and tries to play the villain act, but is seen through by the people close to him. Basically the story is about the MC navigating the Game's story playing the villian while trying to do good deeds here and there. The Heroine is a great character that earnestly wants to help the MC and knows he's a good person. Their banter is my favorite part of this novel.

Only downside is the slow release from the author.

The greatest part about this book is honestly the protagonist. He's someone who actually uses arrogant words and stays by them. He's not like a tsundere, when he says something, he goes by it, even if it's a complete lie. He's dissapointed and frustrated when he fails to do what he set out to do and is one of the most unluckiest chatacters that I've read about, though to a normal degree. He's by no means perfect, and completely understands that so he uses his knowledge as best he can... more>> and realizes that without it, it's going to be a big problem. Because of that, he tries to reproduce everything he can while only modifying small bits of it so he can still see what's going to happen next. Thanks to that, various troubles happen, though he's never really in the wrong. <<less

The main character is suddenly thrown into the body of a game character and although he still has his personality from when he was still alive. The game's character Harold Stokes translates his words/feelings portraying what the game wanted Harold Stokes to be. Always getting misunderstood because of the game's characters' portrayal, he doesn't try to fix the misconceptions that people have of him due to the game he knew from before possessing Harold Stokes body.

What I liked most of the story was the misconceptions, and I am easily led into a onion ninja trap. I felt myself holding back my manly tears as I imagine and feel what the author was trying to convey in his story.

Having to take responsibilities for something people who have given rumors about without checking the facts. This has made me love the novel more and more.

Very interesting read and I was holding off on reading it because of the summary. <<less

I really love this novel. Although it might not be the best, it is still one of my favourites. The MC can sometimes be really annoying, He does a lot of unnecessary things like helping people out, but in the end it's all part of the plan :D. He carries a lot of burden alone, specially for those who are important to him. He somehow reminds of Itachi, although he is way better of a character than Harold. It kinda disappoint me a little when he snapped his composure when... more>> he met the main antagonist of 'brave hearts'. But at the same time, it makes him not so OP for making such a mistake like declaring his resentment on their first meeting.

I definitely don't recommend it to people who watches and reads too much shounen mainstream manga and anime. Or people who skip a lot of texts on the novel because they often skip the most important details. But if you like Tate no yuusha or Arifureta, this might be another good read for you guys. <<less

One of the best Transported to Game World isekais I've read.

I love the misunderstandings that makes othre overstimate the MC, also it's good to see butterfly effect actually work. The multiple POV is amazing as the serie doesn't focu 100% about MC and allows learn more about the other characters.

MC 4.5/5

... more>> MC is strong but not insane OP due to his constant training as well to know all game character's skills. His sharp tongue is something I personally like as I'm not in the classic sweet words hero.

Secondary Characters

Are well made, with POV you can learn the difference between them from in-game and how they change dueto MC's actions. <<less
