Note that he dies (in chapter one), and the death lich is his childhood friend, who was admittedly his first love. So yes, while he might have old feelings for her, in his mind, protecting ALL LIFE ON THE CONTINENT comes first. So he takes a hard line on her, to see if it was her being driven to the brink, or if it was something else that was controlling her. The problem is that it seems really counter-intuitive in that if it WAS her own will, driving her to the brink won't f*cking help lmao.

That made quite a lump.

For example, Eve, a girl who was groped by someone pretending to be MC. When the culprit comes back again and Eve realize it's the fake MC, the author instead focuses on the culprit's POV. It detaches from the danger of the situation without Eve's POV; especially since the culprit pushed himself into the room. Instead of reading about her fear and thought process of situation, we get the thought process of culprit being confused of Eve's relationship with MC. So underwhelming.

Then there's Rin. Rin could have been an easily lovable character. She turned evil in the future, she is sad and jealous of girls around MC, and is MC's childhood friend. But again the author just makes it sound so mundane from a third person POV. She even confronted him and the scene was so lackluster. Just "I'm not dating anyone" from MC and done. Back to status quo and come back to it in future chapter, because author wants to drag it on.

the people seemingly don’t know that the MC was the one that saved the world even though it was such a big deal in the main story, in fact not just that the people also somehow forgot about the “first apocalypse” even tho it was such a big deal in the main story to the point the childhood friend went into hiding.
