My Husband With Scholar Syndrome

Mu Xiaoya lived for twenty-six years before she knew that she had a sudden genetic disease. There was no medicine for it, and there was only death waiting for her.

Before she died, many people came to see her, but she was most impressed by Bai Chuan.

Bai Chuan was her neighbor, an autistic child with scholar’s syndrome. At that time, his face full of scars was desperate: “I – I studied all your medical records, but I have no way to save you.”

Mu Xiaoya was stunned: “You are a doctor?”

Bai Chuan: “I am not… …”

Mu Xiaoya’s disease was a genetic disease. Unless the gene was changed, there was no possibility of cure. However, Bai Chuan was the only person who tried to cure her after she fell ill.

Mu Xiaoya: “Why are you going to cure me?”

Bai Chuan: “I want to marry you.”

Mu Xiaoya laughed: “If you marry me, you will soon become a widower.”

Bai Chuan insisted: “I – I want to marry you.”

Bai Chuan, who has cognitive impairments, can’t express his meaning very well, and can only repeat it over and over again.

Later, Mu Xiaoya still died. When she woke up, she returned to the summer of her college graduation.

Bai Chuan: “I… I want to marry you.”

Mu Xiaoya: “Good.”

The starlight in the eyes of Bai Chuan was the most beautiful scenery that Mu Xiaoya had ever seen in her life.

This is such a good book! It didn't turn out anything like I expected and there's a lot of angst but it's all worth it. The dog food the MC and ML throw at us is so sweet, it rotted my teeth but I kept coming back for more.

It's light-read, short, and there's no drama. Just a novel about ordinary girl and her extraordinary husband. Sometimes it's heartwarming, sometimes it makes you stressed for them, sometimes it's just so silly that makes you didn't know either to laugh or cry.

In short, it's enjoyable to read.

This was short and sweet :3

I was hesitating to read this novel in the beginning since the summary didn't seem that interesting but trust me, you won't regret it.

Tbh the whole novel I was wondering how the author would keep her alive even though she had a genetic disease and to be honest, I was disappointed...

So a jade she was wearing released rays and her genes mutated so although she still had some problems she didn't die. This part just felt too unrealistic and just boring. Like, I wasted all this time feeling anxious about what would happen to the ML and how sad he would be, but instead I didn't feel that anxiousness at all which was nice but also felt a disappointing.

Apart from that, the relationship between the ML and FL is really cute and the kid is sweeetttt. His relation with the ML is pretty funny. The novel went at a decent pace and the translation was good. Would I read it again? Not really. <<less

The thing about novels where mental illness is used as part of the plot device is that - I truly do not know enough about mental illnesses (such as autism in this one) to be able to see this novel as a “realistic” take on the illness. Sometimes, I feel like around the ending and extra chapters - they give off the illusion that the character is “healed” or at least extremely high functioning despite being differently abled. Which I think can happen but is not usually the case?

However, as... more>> a romance novel - this gets 4/5 stars for me. Because it made me feel. There were so many chapters where I cried for the characters and I feel like that is noteworthy because for a piece of writing to be able to immerse their reader is a feat in itself. <<less

ML is also adorable, he is always trying his best. The side characters are also so loveable. MLs parents and brother are great and MCs friends are so good

A semi entertaining read if you curb your tail for some of the questionable terms used for some parts. This is a super romanticized read and will really sate your sweet tooth.

A really sweet and fluffy story. Slow slice of life description with a good ending.

As for the autism description - mild, a bit stereotypical. We need to remember that a) this is a fictional novel b) there are some really mild cases of autism that are more focused on low EQ and inability to adapt to change. This is a similar case.

Overall, I highly recommend this story.

i totally accept the fact that this is a supernatural story, bc it starts with a rebirth already but still, I cant accept the fact that she survives bc of a mere bracelet. I mean come on! Of course I'm so happy the fact that she lives but ending was a bit off for my taste.

FL was very likeable. After her rebirth, she just wanted to cherish her loved ones and live her life instead of working hard for achieve something. ML was really so cute and I really liked their relationship. They were real. I mean, not op, not overbearing, not perfect. They were just like boy next door, girl next door.

Tbh, I didn't quite like "Rebirth in front of the Civil Registrar's Office" by the same author, but this one I liked heaps!

It was fluffy, sweet and tender with some bittersweet moments. Your heart will go 'boom-boom' with the MC's

Most touching part was when
Spoiler

ML waited 24 hours outside MC's University to tell her to go home every weekend since he misses her.

The story is very well written and translated. It's a smooth read. It's was fun to read how both MC and ML grow in their relationship. It was interesting to read how hard ML worked to come out of his little world. Also loved the extra chapters in the end.

ABSOLUTELY 5 STAR. I think I got diabetes while reading this sweet fluffy heartwarming story. No bad guy, no drama, just the sweetness and fluffiness all around. And funny too! Just read how they learn to accepted each other and compromise. This is what you can learn from ML and MC, if you want your relationship as fluffy as them, then learn how to accept and embrace each other weakness. Love love love!

This is a gem! YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY READ!

I was hesitant on reading this at first because I am someone who is sensitive with the mental illness tag but thankfully, this was written very well. It is heartwarming and has a lot of insights on being patient & understanding when dealing with people with autism. I particularly liked how the MC & ML's progress was gradual, starting from their familarity to understanding to their own personal growth (especially with Bai Chuan). It was such a pity for the past life Mu Xiaoyu that she missed and forgot a person who loved her to such degree silently. Well most of us is the same I guess, we never truly know who loved us sincerely or how we impacted the life of each people we encounter, but thankfully, our MC had a second chance.

This was a very good read, its refreshing, fluffy and heartwarming. Definitely gonna add this to my favorites. It honestly surprised me I didn't notice sooner that this was from the same author of <Rebirth on the Doors to the Civil Affair Bureau> because it was also one of my favorite reads.

The whole novel was so sweet, a little bit of drama but everything was solved. The thing about curing her disease... well, she was saved, but it felt forced, anyways.

Sweet childhood memories, supportive family and friends ^~^

And, of course, I like the way they worked together to improve as individuals and as a couple :)
