Chi Wen’s short life has been bumpy. Ever since he could remember things, he was already living in the orphanage, growing up without a family. Later, he entered the entertainment industry and became a first generation film emperor. However, he finally ended up in ruin. In the end, Chi Wen jumped off the top floor of a building, but did not expect that he would get a chance to open his eyes again…

Back to his infancy, Chi Wen coldly looked at the woman who was laughing s*upidly in front of him. He waited, waited until the moment she finally abandoned him.

Fu Yunruo was transmigrated as the cannon fodder in the novel ‘First Generation Movie Queen.’ When she first transmigrated, it happened to be the plot point when the malicious cannon fodder tried to frame the female lead for the last time. After that, her evil deeds would be exposed. The whole netizens mocked, and her father angrily drove her out of the house. A former wealthy and pampered young miss fall into the mud and finally died after accidentally falling into the water…

Because of the high popularity of the original book, the author used the daughter of the original female and male lead as the protagonist for the second book. The villain who had been against the main couple of this sequel also met his just end and died tragically. After his death, the female lead let out some vague words that made readers speculated that this villain was the illegitimate son of the prequel’s cannon fodder.

After recalling the plot, Fu Yunruo stared at the pregnancy report in her hand. She was torn: should she give birth or not?

This story takes a little too long to progress. It's very sweet at this point and I don't dislike MC or ML (or Wenwen), but I also don't have the urge to continue reading.

It’s a 4.5

its very cute and overflowing with maternal love novel. The novel is focused equally on the baby and the female lead. The baby scenes were so cute. The male lead is quite cunning. Loved the extras with the different outcomes. Original baby life was so sad.

4.3 ⭐

After so many time dropping other novels, I finally finished this one particular novel... It was a good read! With only this one point I promise you that you won't be disappointed for wasting your time reading this novel!

The ending was concluded beautifully too BUT!!! There was still a missing piece that makes me to rate it under 4.5 star.

It's a late romance story, more than half the story is focused on the MC (FL) and her son. The story is more like a relationship between them... and... more>> between MC with the people around her. I like it because our MC is truly a great character. I love the village where they're living too.

I like late romance stroy, but this one feels kinda flat? Somehow the romance is too late? I understood that the romance in this novel is so logical, especially since it's about a single mother.

The ML has appeared since half of the story butttt his presence is like a thin air? I like him, he's definitely a green flag ML so I don't blame the character but the author for not giving more presence to the ML.

There's not a single butterflies-in-stomach-worthy moment at all. The romance is nowhere to be found and it was so regretful because I was hoping for a josei-like romance between the FL and ML.

I also kinda frustrated with FL & ML's son WenWen.

I know that in his first life he doesn't have a family, so he's obsessed with his mother (FL) in this current timeline but it frustrated me that he suddenly hating on ML when he knows that he's his biological father. He won't let the FL & ML to have their own quality time. WenWen can't 100℅ blame ML for what happened in the first life... Fortunately it ended up being better on the late chapter.

It was still a good read tho! <<less

Haven't finished yet– somewhat almost at the middle mark of the story.

First: BIG clap to the translator, very good TL quality although there will still be minor minor mistakes but nothing ground-breaking.

Some positive words to describe so far: adorable, slow-paced, slice-of-life.

The characters' (FL, her son, and the community as well as soon-appearing antagonists') relationships are handled pretty well and are believable, I love especially how the FL and son's relationship is (duh they're the main duo ofc) but TBH since the father appears and begins to "assimilate" into their lives..... more>> I can't help but find it irritating.

POtential MINOR SPOILERS
Spoiler

perhaps it's because like the FL and son, ive gotten used to it being just them and their close-knit community, but it feels like the ML is just bringing along trouble.

[collapse]

One BIG factor I'm going to rant about that is causing me to want to drop this (I haven't decided yet if I'm faulting the author or not) is due to the privacy concerns that comes with showbiz-lifestyle novels that include paparazzi. It's honestly a bit jarring and stressful to read as FL has her identity revealed after trying to hide herself– and not even that, her son is exposed as well! The disregard to privacy by paparazzi-like figures as well as the characters themselves is just too hair-pulling inducing.

Mind you I'm aware that these are fictional characters that aren't real, but the distress I felt the whole time is, and right now I'm seriously considering dropping this as although the story does require a suspension of disbelief (come on– an orchid gardenist having millions of fans online and topping the equaivalent of Twitch consistently? Fans actually being coherent online?), once the privacy concerns appeared I found myself struggling to make excuses to keep reading this. I'll still persist though– right now at C52.2 and it /seems/ like the end is nigh on this particular arc. If not, well you'll see that this review is not edited since *now*.

Other than that detail though, it's a good story. I just find it hard to ship the baby daddy with our beautiful strong FL right now, as so far the romance hasn't kicked off beyond mutual appreciation bonding over the son (that she still isn't aware she conceived with the help of the ML). <<less

I actually wanna pass away... while I do (somewhat) like the ML, he sure does frustrate me to the bone!!

Spoiler

while the FL's younger sister (the villainess) wouldve found out eventually, she never wouldve realized the FL was her sister upon seeing her if it wasnt for the ML who hinted/revealed the revelation!!!

(But like good for him for calling her out for being a hypocrite)

I also am so frustrated with the scene where that GREEN TEA SISTER confronts the FL with her gawd awful fiancée and the ML just stands and watches from a distance to "see how she could handle it" and "if she really did change from her past"!!! Like shut up!!

He can literally shut up with that "he took all the bad traits from her" when he was talking about their son

YOUR FAT@SS HEAD WAS PLAYING ABSENT FATHER, aint no way the ML really claiming all the good behavior traits his son has when he wasnt their to influence him🙂🙂

[collapse]

But yeah love the FL and her independent self<3🤭 She's a good mother and is truly a good person!! Love how she can stand for herself like a queen. Live laugh love women

Her son on the other hand... bruh I wanted to punt him like a football in the beginning chapters but I'm glad he finally "realizes" the "truth".

Spoiler

Instead of finding out that his mother had transmigrated, he comes to think that his mother also regressed back in time like him. And thinks that his mother never abandoned him but actually died. Which is like half of the actual truth but yk...

[collapse]

But yeah haven't finished it but it has its potential, Im just emotional and wanted to prepare those who are similar

The ML and FL are probably the best parent I have seen in c-novel. Plus FL genuinely cares for her son wenwen and don't neglect him like other FL lead who seem to forget their child exist when ML shows up. ML is also good a dad, he doesn't get jealous of his own son like other ML and don't compete with his son for FL affection. Truly a good novel and wenwen relationship with his mother is soo sweet, it's sweet enough to give you diabetes :)

@Blueraven I'm so agree with you.

  • I really dislike the ML now after he said that " All the bad parts of my son r from that woman" 🙄 what tf??! I forgive you because of you dude the fl's reborn villain s exist but did you just fvckin really insult the FL??? I mean saying th*see sh*T's without even feeling guilty after ràping the FL just wow!
  • Like as if you just mating a dog in the street?
  • FYI!! YOURE FVCKIN ABSENT! When the FL struggling while giving birth and FL didn't know where to go after she was abandoned by her tràsh family.. Because SHE'S PREG.. TO YOUR CHILD SHE BECOME DESPERATE to find shelter and where r you again at that time after releasing your lust your done. And nevermind?
I... more>> KNOW THS S ONLY FICTION BUT I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THS KIND OF SCAM AND IRRESPONSIBLEL ML STILL ATTRACTIVE TI OTHER READERS. The sh*t!?

now that the FL 's reborn villain can already walk and talk then fvckin dog ML finally sh0wed his bu*t without taking any obligation from where the fl's reborn villain born. Bro how can you still think that he's still attractive??? <<less

I really enjoyed this one, and the mtl was decent enough to read to the ending (though I've heard there are extras, which I couldn't find). The first half does really well at building the relationship between MC and re-born son, and I find his emotional arc interesting. I also think the story did a good job at still having him impacted by child-brain attention span and inability to handle intense emotions. Being re-born does not turn him into a little adult in a child's body, nor can he get... more>> other people to treat him as anything other than a child.

The second half was still enjoyable, but the sense of any tension was lost, yet it also didn't have the fluffy warmth of slice-of-life child rearing so much anymore, so while I enjoyed it, the second half lost a star for me. <<less

The first half was okay. Their time on the province was peaceful and entertaining. BUT when the second half came, it became a cliche plot with a white lotus step-sister and a domineering ex-fiance. I thought it would be a good novel since the execution of the first half was good but I became disappointed as a read until the end.

It’s meh. It was so hard for me to read until chapter 15. I keep getting distracted along the way. This novel just couldn’t hold my attention compared to other novel. While I saw people still enjoy the beginning, it was pretty hard for me to stick with this novel early on. It’s boring.

I’m not a fan of FL at all. So bland, there’s nothing interesting about her. I saw some people enjoy her interaction with her baby son. I did too but some part just feel very painful for... more>> me especially when she keep forcing to make her son wearing girl’s clothes despite him rejecting the idea. I just couldn’t enjoy or laugh at it. Probably because I personally hate it when people force me to do stuff I don’t want. I could enjoy other interactions because most of them are just a miscommunication between a baby and adult but this particular scene just feels very uncomfortable because the baby clearly expressing his rejection that even his first word as a baby is a “No”. That’s how much he rejected it but instead FL keep pushing the idea until he finally had to give up. <<less

This was an heart-warming novel. Our little villain, Wen Wen, was so cute and smart (but not overly genius like some novels). He's POV was fun to read and also made me emotional few times Actually, he's the main highlight of the novel especially his relationship to people around him.

Mama Fu Yunruo (FL), she's gentle character but strong mentality and great perseverance... You can feel how much she loved the kid and feel her fears as 1st time Mom. She was transmigrated the day Wen Wen was conceived so she... more>> really love the kid wholeheartedly as Mom. I like that she chose botany as her profession instead of acting which was common for transmigrated heroines LMAO

The romance was just added bonus but not necessarily needed tho bc the development was slow... Daddy Si Yue (ML) was a good father who got good relationship with his kid despite some Wen Wen's misunderstandings in latter parts. He was just too OP with powerful background behind him.

Too many kind characters and also dumb ones... I also sympathized the original owner Fu Yunruo was obviously not bad but circumstances and people around result to her demise. So I'm glad that past Wen Wen and OG Fu Yunruo was given justice this life.

I just felt that the ending was rush and kinda "slightly" unsatisfactory which was the only con of this novel.

Spoiler

The ending of some characters was left open-ended like OG leads (just ended after bankruptcy) and Fu Dad. Also no wedding happened for Fu Yunruo and Si Yue... I also wanted to see Wen Wen as grown up

If you want something light and warm-hearted, then read this!

But the title of the story really doesn't have anything to do with the novel, or the plot itself, so beware!

Anyways, as long as you take notice of that, then you'll enjoy the process of reading the novel.

Alright. I had no high expectation from this novel. It's a light reading. Lots of face slapping and such.

The story antagonists, mainly the original ML n FL IQ seems to decreased a lot in second life.

The first quarter chapters probably the best part of the story because the author really portray the sense of 'reborn person' which is what we are all here for.

Spoiler

But sadly, after finding out the reason behind his 'abandonment' in the first life, the MC decide to embrace his childhood. We no longer see the sensible movie emperor from his first life aside from his 'inherited acting skills' from the ML.

[collapse]

The best part for my opinion is

Spoiler

The MC cried in his mother arms when he heard that his mother is trying to survive from her possible date of death. The MC realised that his mother didn't actually abandoned him at the orphanage but she died (when in actual, the transmigrated FL actually referring to the canon timeline lol)

[collapse]

The worst part of the story:

Spoiler

and like every typical C novels, the MC dad is a billionaire whose family able to turn the country upside down. Royal descendant and such cliche. Idk why the MC dad even bother to play around as movie emperor despite being the current patriarch of the old wealthy family.

you see because the MC dad is so OP, the whole face slapping is easy like ABC. No struggle at all. It's all working like the protagonist halo. A deus ex machina. While I'm okay with the cliche, it certainly ruined the potential brought by the first quarter of the story

[collapse]

It's a light reading with family theme. Face slapping. Secretly rich background and other thinkable cliché of a chinese novel. <<less

loved it MC is nice and the son is written as a child instead of a reborn little big men cliche. Although the novel has many other cliches but makes a light hearted easy read. If you are looking to feel rested while reading this is perfect for you. It does not require much brain power plot wise very simple and cute.

To tell you the truth, I cried when

Spoiler

Fu Dong (mtl is really confusing) felt that his daughter already left the world, which is true, however he wakes up knowing that she is still alive, the same body, but not the same soul

    • When he was alone in the sanitarium
    • When Si Wen (Fu Wen, Chi Wen) came back to his previous life, and that his mother already died and his father isn't Si Yue
    • When Si Yue still adopted him although he knew long ago that Chi Wen wasn't his son
    1. And then, one night, I dreamt about myself being in the same situation as Fu Yunruo, however, I was a coward, I tried to escape, but they always find me (my s*umbag father, his mistress and stepdaughter, my ex fiance, and another group of reincarnators who want to kill me), I tried to escape, hide, kill myself before they do and I was betrayed several times, and it all happened 7 times, however some times, they would kill my son too, which made me really heartbroken even though I knew it's all a dream. But in my 8th life, I targeted them all, tortured those reincarnators who just messed up their memories from that life and instead of me helping them and that stepsister torturing them, it became the opposite, so that's why they always targeted me, I cried, me and my son, as well as those who helped us that suffered, just because of a jumbled memory, and instead of killing them out of hatred, I broke their 4 limbs, then sent them to different sanitariums, my son was born, healthy, happy, but my dream of having someone, or just for my son's biological father to show up or just save my son, never came true... And you know, I woke up several times with my back filled with cold sweats...

So, this novel falls down into the same category of transmgrated MC with child + being ab*sed by her family + got schemed by stepsister into ML's bed and pregnant + and ML didnt know anything abt the child + ML was the number one hidden boss. Same old same old.

Then what's the difference with the others that made me read this even MTL from chapter 4 to the end?

1. The child WAS USED until the very end by the author. He didnt magically get shoved into school and... more>> be forgotten when it's time for the ML/father to woe his wife to marry him.

2. ML or the father was not an overbearing entertainment boss/movie emperor and rarely exercised this attitude. But yes, the father still thought his baby son as nuisance when he tried to win the mother of his son to be his wife, but thankfully the father didnt do any of those childish jealousy rivalry thing with his own child.

3. ML found out about the child existence pretty fast. The first time he met MC, he alr 'That's the woman at that night, so that must be my son" moment.

4. MC was not the easy to blush or weakened into the state of "fair maiden in love" whenever ML was with her and she's not the "I dont need your help, I can do it myself" aggressively defending her stance as modern woman.

5. The reborn son's thinking and emotion would change and fluctuate with the previous live memory there, but maybe because his body was a baby's, so his deposition, behavior sometime would change and adapt with his physical body. I mean, he played with children all year, treated like a baby all year by his neghborhood, and all that. His brain capacity was the child's capacity although his mental was not, still it couldnt win against the reality of a physical body. So it's good that he's not an OP child, or a mature child in his 4year old's body.

6. MC didnt go to the entertainment route and dazzle everyone with her act, NO. It's the usual boardcasting online money making anchor route instead lol But we still got to see the entertainment side, since it beame the reborn son route instead XD

7. The focus in this story is not the romance between MC and ML, or the wooing part. MC and ML romance part maybe only got written around... 15-20% and the rest is just the son's story.

8. In fact, I dont think it's too farfetchd to say that the MC should be the reborn son; his story, his pov, his emotion were far more interesting to read.

Thar's why and how I MTL this novel from chapter 4 to the end and truly enjoy it. <<less

Very good!

The little villain is very cute, and the whole novel you will exclaim how cute he is! We don't feel wierd seeing an old guy acting like a child because since he's a baby we could see his baby brain make him unable to really think clearly, he's basically a victim of the undeveloped neurons. So he stay cute until the end of the novel.

The MC is also a good white lotus! A very caring mom and she has a brain in her. She does everything for her child... more>> and do not fall willy nilly with the ML. She also calculate revenge clearly and do not entangle herself with the previous body enemies as long as the others don't bother her.

ML is the typical uber rich CEO but we can see his care for his son and son's mother. He basically resolve everything for the pair of mother and son including their enemies so if you don't like stories where ML solve everything this is not for you. And ML is not cruel in his revenge, he is lawful and not excessive.

The MTL is very easy to read. I do tend to skip some paragraphs in the later half of the story because it doesn't advance the story they are just copious dog food thrown around and bragging how rich ML is. But all in all a good read. <<less

Too ideal.

The first half was good and enticing to read. We see a single mother raising a son who definitely doesn't like his mother. It was very cute reading Wenwen's contrasting attitude towards her mother, although I wish the author made it clear if his age regressed with his physical body. Reading him firm on the first half and completely acting like a child towards the end was a bit... eh.

Now on the second half, ML appears which is supposed to be yay! but everything is too ideal about him.... more>> Only thing author couldn't give him probably was the identity of a prince. Anyhows, MC and Ml's relationship was a bit eh, awkward and somewhat not giving. As grown ups you'd expect they'd be grown in ways of love but the purity complex in which this was written with was interfering with it. Anyhows....

The only thing interesting was the appearance of the antagonists which was unfortunately short. Though others might love to read a free going novel, with barely any drama, this is for u. <<less

This is one of my favourite transmigration novels with a childcare sub plot.

I personally felt kinda sad for og body tho.

I think this book work well even without the ml.

It is just a slice of life made me feel like I should focus on gardening.

Spoiler

I didn't like the romance or general plot but I loved how the son and mother interact.

I love how FL didn't forgive the father of og body cause it wasn't her place.

And the side stories were also interesting.

And I like the fact that father of the son wasn't the same person in first life. I always feel bad for og body too much when a guy who never love them loves the new transmigrator, it just feels so odd so this one was good.
