Description
Links are NOT allowed. Format your description nicely so people can easily read them. Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.“My teammates are all protecting me, but I can solo kill all five opponents.”
Lin Xiao is the canary that Ji Shijin keeps by his side. He doesn’t have to do anything every day and has a bunch of gold cards to swipe casually. Not until Ji Shijin’s first love returns and he is kicked out of the house.
The homeless Lin Xiao stayed up in an Internet cafe for the night and was tricked into playing AD for a team with a box of instant noodles by a desperate manager.
At the beginning, everyone had low expectations for the canary. Who was a picky eater, needed to use milk for bathing, and had to go to bed at exactly nine o’clock.
Later, in a game, he achieved three pentakills. Causing numerous teams to fight over him, eager to recruit him at any cost.
The teammates gradually turned into licking dogs. Always protecting him during the game. Even the mid laner, who always went his own way, would personally help him buy milk and test the water temperature for him.
At first, Lin Xiao just wanted to live a better life, but unexpectedly, he became the favorite of the team and their main support. He didn’t let everyone down and led them to the World Championships.
When the former owner came to see him, Lin Xiao said, “I don’t want to be your canary anymore.”
—
Ji Shijin was still waiting for his canary to come back and admit his mistakes. But instead, he saw him open a live broadcast with a messy hairdo, looking like he hadn’t slept, and said to his fans with a sleepy face, “Hmm, I promise you guys, if I make it to the World Championship, I’ll do a cross-dressing live stream for a month.”
Seeing that the canary he cared for was “struggling” to make a living, Ji Shijin finally decided to forgive him.
Later, he arrived outside the team’s gate, hoping to take Lin Xiao home.
The mid laner holds him by his shoulders with a vigilant look. The support of the team stood in front of him, smiling. The jungler was eager to fight and crouch down. The top laner already had TP around the back. Lin Xiao, who still looked sleepy, said, “I’m sorry, they are used to protecting me.”
Ji Shijin, who was burning with anger, impulsively invested ten billion yuan to establish a new team. No one knew how much he regretted it. That night, he said something unpleasant to his canary: “You’re just a bird that I raised. Just behave yourself and listen to me. What’s the point of showing off?”
— self-reliance, self-improvement —

Or maybe it's just because the entire story felt like it's an open ending. THERE'S NO f*ckING CLOSURE TO ANYTHING. The s*upid canary guy was annoying from the start to the end. Very consistent. Leader He DESERVED BETTER. It felt like he was a spare tireeeee!! The childhood bully was a not-needed addition.
It gives the feeling that the author was planning on making this a harem but changed his mind at the end because the editor disagreed.
It's all over the place. Sometimes while reading, you're going to ask yourself "why the f*ck do we have to talk about that guy's backstory if you're just going to ignore it and leave it at that?" Or "oh, that guy's the bully. Backstory. Sorry? Can't remember me? Oh. I help u." It just made me scream Why??? What for???
Anyway, final comment is that it tastes like a cheaper knock-off version of the novel "I can do it." This is my first unhappy comment ever since I started reading novels in novelupdates.. So I guess that's a milestone? 🤣
Looking back and thinking about what I liked about the story then finding almost nothing is frustrating. I'm all for timid, naive and innocent MCs and tsuntsun MLs but the execution on this one.. Just makes me sigh..
