MC transmigrated into the novel he wrote about the end of the world where he became the zombie king near the ending, but he was on the side of humans, helping them fight against the other zombie king. He interacts with his family and ML's family, and companions, really bringing life to the novel. The highlight of this novel is definitely the love between MC and ML, it's fulfilling and heartfelt.

This is so so good stort, it is a must read !!!

must give applause for the author, this is an easy to understand story even with MTL-ing, the story is interesting, not boring at all, a HE with a little bit heartbreaking between.

I cannot hold my tears when MYF died and the atmosphere feel so depressing, I even felt the heartbreaking of ZBT when he lost MYF (┳Д┳)

A definitely must-read!! (＊￣︶￣＊) The shou is just so funny and adorbs. He always break the tense atmosphere either by his monologue or action.

The placing of plot twist is so clever, but if course there are some plot holes as well.

But disregarding the plot holes this is such a sweet story (and sad at some point too). The little bun also very much a sweetheart ?

The MC has to be the most likeable character I've seen in a while. Story was well written and character development was perfect. It had me hooked until the end. Made me laugh like a maniac, sad, and giggle.

overall, it's good but it doesn't have too much impact on the story line, too much focus on romance to the point of forgetting that this story is about "zombie king" but it doesn't focus too much on the development of his character as "zombie king". The author should have changed the title to "my romance of zombie king" so as not to confuse the reader. For MC his character is only lukewarm, doesn't make an impact, even the fighting scene is lacking. The most unsatisfied, they didn't reveal MC's... more>> identity and let the other characters wonder.

What I don't understand the most is what is the function of the Qing Tian beads that become Mu Qing Tian? Why did the bead become human and what is the purpose of being human? The purpose of the beads to become human is not told. Next, I don't think it's fair, why didn't the author create another character who has a crush on MC? 2 characters have a crush on ML but no other character has a crush on MC, I also want a venegar drama between ML and the person who has a crush on MC. The author described that MC is handsome but it seems that no one is interested in MC other than ML, so what's the point of being handsome if no one is interested?

2 stars because it made me cry. I cried when the MC was dying, the author managed to make my eyes hit red onions. A scene that was so sad that my eyes were swollen. Well done author. <<less

Too magical, and because there is many characters so I give 4 stars. HAHAHAHA

NOT Recommended if you're the person who didn't enjoy the plot holes, multiple rebirth, MC who depends on ML too much (?), and many characters (you can find the ending several characters not the last but at least moment), don't read this!!

I recommended if you like some story about clinging MC and loving ML. That kind of lovey dovey but sweet (at least for me)

I find this story amusing with some drama in some last chapter... more>> but still good. <<less

Ah, I liked this novel and the MC, Mu Yi Fan, a lot. His personality is quirky and somewhat carefree. MC's personality brings levity into the novel, helping the novel to not be too dark. It was a fun read.

MC transmigrated into his book and thinks he should kill the protagonist Zhan Bei Tian (ML) so he could go back to the real world. However, ML looks exactly like his best friend and he can't do it. He ends up swallowing a bead that belonged to ML. The bead grows into a child inside MC and they become the parents.

Then comes the growth of their relationship, fighting zombies, and trying to get their families to accept their relationship.

MC is the novel's author.

ML is living his second life in the novel.

The original Mu Yi Fan (oMYF) ended up taking over the body of ML's cousin. This oMYF is living his third life in the novel. So he wants to take down ML's family from within.

ML's cousin ended up taking over the body of an ancient emperor. The emperor was the origin of the zombie virus.

OTHER SPOILER...

MC and ML are best friends in real life. Since MC was a baby, ML had cared for him. ML loves MC but MC was too dense to notice. Once MC goes back to the real world, they end up together. ML is the same ML as the novel. He had gone into MC's world but things didn't go as planned and he ended up being born and losing his memories.

This book is too funny😭. It’s fun to read, I honestly don’t go for books that are too long cause the story usually loss it’s flow or become unreadable and boring. But omfg, the author actually made the story fun to read but also made me cry so much..!!! It’s a roller coaster ride that I come back to read again and again

The flow story was good, but will be more perfect if it was include the real back story of the Novel Mu Yi Fan, that make me curious behind the story that supposed to happened in the MC written novel book. The input comedy between especially the ‘pregnant’ incident, it was hilarious that make me wonder, does the MC to gullible or naive? The hardships, the drama, the bond between characters make me cried. The main couple progress was handle with care and manner, at the same time with the... more>> side characters, the author don’t abandoned them. What I’m wonder if... if Zhan Nan Tian (OG Mu YiFan) grudge and misunderstanding resolved, will the story will changed to a more happy ending?

Like...I take pity at him (just half) from his description after ML took him to the experiment. He might be wonder what he’s done to ML to torture him like this (maybe to death), when he betrayed by ‘family’ to infect him became a zombie that he doesn’t knew after turned and triggered/drove him to death road.

This is one of the danmei I first read when I started reading this genre. This is my spoiler free review.

It's an amazing story not without it's flaws as other comments have already mentioned * cough * poor translations, and MC being not nearly as intelligent as one would have us believe considering he pretty much wrote the story and should be exemplary familiar with all the characters and aspects of that world. Yet this still is quite an enjoyable read.

One of my favorite aspects of the story is that,... more>> despite the seriousness of the various situations MC finds himself in, he always finds a way to joke and have a positive attitude.

I just loved, and still do reading this years later, how hilarious his reactions, thoughts and often inappropriate conduct is throughout the novel.

The story has such an interesting plots for it's time. It's quite a unique blend of comedy, romance, action, drama, horror and transmigration genres. This is truly one of those stories that can give you serious feels one minute only to and on the next paragraph, have you laughing at something or another. This story really can't stay serious for very long.

The relationship between the MC & ML are a bit of a slow buid and at different points in the story, both actually had intentions to seriously harm the other. Yet this bad beginnings slowly paves the way for our duo to communicate probably and honestly with each other, sort out their issues and find happiness together. Their relationship is a key and pivotal point of the story it's pretty much why we are reading this story to begin with. The author's delivery of the main characters relationship development is the most amazing part of the story in my opinion.

So if you are only really interested in our main couple than this story is about perfect for you as it doesn't delve nearly as much as most would prefer into the stories of the side couples.

Which to me is quiet a plothole in sime instances and really should have been better fleshed out so we actually get to understand the true motives of the side characters that do play vital roles in the story as a whole. Im not going to spoil too much but one of the side couples have an interesting motive for not liking our MC. And one of them even does something about his ill feeling towards MC. Only to have a change of heart later on off screen for reasons that need to be explored and elaborated on.

Also MC and ML have priority issues throughout the story which some reviewers have already mentioned. Like when you know someone is doing evil stuff please at least try to stop them before the situation escalates not in essence say something that amounts to "oh well we'll get to that later".

Anyway the story is far from perfect but hilariously interesting nevertheless, as few stories have as uniquely fun put together plotlines as this one does. <<less

This was a really good read.

Maybe I'm blind but this is the first novel that I've read that's actually delved into the mpreg aspect and not just some time skip bs.

Ex. MC finding out he's pregnant and then poof 3 years later, the buns out of the oven.

I understand that it might be a key point in a plot but I wished authors would put more emphasis on it like for this novel.

The ML caring for the pregnant MC was refreshing to read about. We love dads who there from the very beginning. (If anyone have recommendations with similar point as this, please tell.)

This might contradict with my earlier point but I wished the bun had more screen time ;-; The MC and ML are always very busy and have to leave their bun behind most of the time, to have other people look after him. I know it's an apocalypse but if you read those chapters you'll get what I mean.

Somehow, I remember reading this without being confused 🤯 I don’t know why I treat mtl reading as normal translation 😭 I was a child!! After reading HN1F I search for [number one] in mtl search bar and come across this and thankfully my non-discriminate young mind did not give up so I read this story smoothly without hiatus and Ta! Daa! I’m back for more 🥴🥴...

also I read number one lazy merchant after this, it’s also good 👍 (definitely not amway 🙂)

Ahhh this story was pretty good! But I couldn't get myself to keep reading it. Might just be a mood thing. The novel is pretty long after all (kind of dragged a bit ig??) I'll try and reread it again later though. For now, the tentative rating for me is 3-4 stars.

(Updated: 2nd Reread - 03/22/2023) Reread it, and can now confirm that it is not a mood thing. The reason why I can't get myself to continue reading this novel is that it's a bit of a mess.... more>> The world is set in the zombie apocalypse but the zombies are not really zombies (most of the ones we see on screen are conscious) and there are plotholes everywhere. Anyway, no amount of ranting will truly get my point across, so let me just say this --- it's an okay novel, but the plot was clumsily executed and the MC and ML were not strong enough as protagonists to hold up the failing plot (I hope that makes sense XD).

SUMMARY: The MC, Mu Yifan, is an author that transmigrates into his own zombie apocalypse novel. He takes on the role of Mu Yifan, the Zombie King that was directly at odds with the protagonist (AKA, the ML Zhan Betia). He fully expects that the protagonist will kill him after he regains his memories of the previous timeline (wherein the protagonist dies at the hand of OG!MYF). MC thus decides it would be best to kill the protagonist off so that he could go back to his own world. Unfortunately, he's trumped again and again by the fact that the protagonist looks like his best friend in real life (also named Zhan Beitian). So, instead of successfully finishing off the protagonist, he ends up magically pregnant with the ML's baby lolol.

CHARACTERS: 7/10

Outside of the relatively detailed MC (who is an idiot most of the time lolol), the other characters are not so complex. It's really kind of depressing. Of course, there are a few good ones out there, but they don't have much screen time T.T

Mu Yifan

The MC! He's very very dumb. It's a bit annoying at times djdkdkdk but also sometimes amusing? At least, I found him very amusing after a certain point. It's just that his choices are a f*cking mess. The author also has a tendency to mystify things -- constantly hiding the truth from the readers so that the MC's actions become even more and more inexplicable.

Zhan Betian:

The ML! He's the typical, powerful, and responsible kind of Gong! As a reborn protagonist, of course, his ultimate goal is revenge on the one who killed him. However, he's forced to spend time with the MC and slowly transforms from a stallion protagonist to a doting gong lol.

ROMANCE: 7.5/10

I found the romance pretty fun at first. I dunno, I like mistaken identities stories lol. Also, at least it's a lot better than most other danmei novels where the MC and ML don't even communicate. It's nothing too complex in terms of development, but it was amusing. So yeah!

SETTING: 4/10

The main focus of arc one is building up the relationship between the ML and MC. It's really not quite what I expected when it comes to the setting. It's definitely not focused on survival or getting stronger (like most zombie apocalypse novels are). Also, the author's worldbuilding is all over the place. LIKE, it's a mess, seriously. I was very disappointed about that DX. But yeh, this novel isn't really the one to read if you like detailed backgrounds. Here, the zombie apocalypse is really just a backdrop.

I enjoyed what I read. But I really couldn't get myself to continue reading it after a while. Part of it may just be because certain parts felt like they were dragging along and going nowhere. And it could also because the author fails so hard when it comes to setting up the world. IDK. It's not for me, but I'm glad I picked it up anyway, since it was a good way to waste time for a while. Oh, btw, the first time I read this, I only read up to 117 and my rating was vaguely 3 stars. This time, I made it a little further (C163) and the final rating is 3.08! (As a final note, the TLs for this novel are all over the place. I recommend reading the first few from the original translator and going straight to MTL-ing it on Google Translate.) <<less

Its quite enjoyable but there are just elements that's lacking for an apocalypse story. MC do have s*upid decisions/actions that causes unresolvable things. Tho he's still good. Well the baby is the one carrying the whole story but he doesn't appear much and he have two unreliable parents lol.

Anyway yeah its really good but got bored with it in a long run cuz there's a lot of filler chapters. Might continue reading some another time. It gets dragging because it focuses more on their love life rather than the situation... more>> during apocalypse. The action is bland. <<less

This novel may not the best, but it's heartfelt and warm. There are many second-hand embarrassments but I just laughed it out, because the MC is just really shameless. I can't be shameful if he's not, hahaha.

I love how they first approached their relationship. You know it's not perfect, their relationship is, but I really felt it even if I'm only observing. It's beautiful

You don't have to be complicated with this novel. Don't put much expectation to it, and just ENJOY IT. This is how I approach things now. The world is difficult, enjoy every single time you have.

The only thing that irks me is that they don't pay much attention to their children. But in retrospect, it's the apocalypse and time is ticking for them. Having children in an apocalypse is very hard.

Their family also, what's with this and that that men can't be together. But it went well. It's just annoying for me at that part.

All in all, the novel was worth it to read. It made me laugh, cry, shy, and mad. Thank you for giving us a chance to read this beauty.

its a cuuute story ♡ (> ਊ <) ♡... from my perspective, this story is good for leisurely. Anyway, although it still has some s*upidity that my brain cannot accept (as I read, I'm accepting it... ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ).

I would like to give this novel only 2 stars but bc I didn't read it all I can't really judge it.

(bc I know how unfair it is when people judge on less than 100 chapters)

While I was reading it the secondhand embarrassment was astronomical. It's too much for my brain to take so I had to stop.

Another reason is bc reading this novel felt like having a fever dream. Everything happens extremly fast, chaotic, illogical. So though the novel my brain just made time out bc it... more>> couldn't comprehend wtf I was reading.

Basicly this is madness... not for me but maybe others will find it funny.
