—Breaking News! Admiral Lucas of the Empire has dispatched his men, reportedly to find his date from the hotel last night!

The reporter excitedly asked a question: What would you do once you find them?

Lucas’ eyes glinted coldly: Kill them.

The crowd: ???

Why does he seem different from everyone else…

Gong’s perspective →

There’s nothing the short-tempered Admiral Lucas looks down on more than the whiny and annoying omegas in his life.

A significant other? Will never happen in this lifetime.

However, if he is forced to elaborate… He much prefers the gentle and honest beta secretary, skilled in both combat and academia, who can brew coffee and match clothes for him.

Shou’s perspective →

Luo Ran is Lucas’ secretary, and what he does is the most inhumane job in the entire empire.

He has to wait on the nit-pickiest superior who sits above him, and below him, he has to deal with the entire empire who dare not interact with the admiral, the admiral’s subordinates, coworkers, admirers… etc.

Not only that, but he also has to carefully hide the fact that he’s an omega, as well as his identity as the admiral’s “one night stand”… constantly facing the imminent threat of getting killed at any moment.

Until one day, he accidentally went into heat in front of Lucas, the sweet and lovely pheromone an exact match with the pheromone of the person from that night.

It’s over, he’s about to be killed now.

“How brave of you.” Lucas held the back of Luo Ran’s head, the other arm looped around his waist as he smiled, “Now… I’m going to kill you.”

A story of healing, moving forward, many interlinked relationships and getting the happiness that one deserves. At first point you will thought that MC is a calm, all knowing secretary but he's not. He also had his low point in life and hardships before he became the man he is in the present. ML is of course his life mostly revolves in Military and slowly slowly... realizing MC's importance to him. The accident that happened at the start of the story interlinks to many hidden intrigues. It's also one of... more>> the trigger for our couple to be more conscious of each other. There are many twist&turns in the story especially both MC&ML had some parts of their memories that they can't remember. They will gradually remember-near the end of the story. What chap ML knew it was his secretary that night? At chap 80+ hahaha there were also many couples here. All hail for the empire's cp fans & the military cp fans of our couple HAHAHA how many children did our couple have?
Spoiler

1st birth Male twins, 2nd birth 1 girl, all SSS

[collapse]

A good story with mysteries, military, some misunderstandings (but funny & will be cleared) and how our couple complete each other lives. All I can see was that the author did a good job making the charas complement each other. Read it! <<less

Oh my God! This story is seriously good. It's been a long time since I've last read a really good omegaverse story.

This story not only focus on the growth of their relationship but also on their daily life and job. It put emphasize on the military aspect and I really like that. Other stories usually just tend to focus more on the love and physical relationship, but this story has both! How can I not like it.

The premise reminded me of kdrama "what's wrong with secretary kim?". You will understand... more>> if you read it.

In short, I really love it! This is gold, truly! <<less

Damn, once again, this masochistic single dog jump into a pit, become addicted, and impatiently read the raws xD.

I admit, the starting point is nothing new, some might say a bit cliche but damn. Cliches like this are my cup of tea *^*.

Plot✔

Fluff✔

Comedy✔

Mpreg✔

Just the right amount of the things I like UwU. If there's something that is a bit of a disappointment is the lack of depth of some of the cannon fodders... aside from that I enjoyed it.

MTL-ed the story.

This novel feels like a typical ABO novel with unexpected depth. The story flow was smooth, with the plot points tying together nicely mostly. Foreshadowing was brought up at appropriate times for most plot points. Although there were many cliches, the way they happened was quite unexpected at times.

Spoiler

Ferris Wheel Scene, spoilers without context.

They didn't enter the Ferris wheel together but due to a breakdown, the ML jumped in to the MC's carriage while in mid air.

[collapse]

Spoiler

ML and MC both had amnesia but they only forgot a specific period of their relationship instead of completely forgetting each other.

[collapse]

The misunderstandings between the oblivious MC and narcissistic ML were quite typical but funny though.

Bonus points for this novel:

  • Doctor Shen
  • Forum shippers
  • Well-Balanced partnership between MC and ML even after they got together.
  • The relationship between MC and ML visibly strengthened each other's characters and brought healing to both of them.
  • Cute cheesy pick up lines, below is a rough translation from what I vaguely remember.
Spoiler

ML: Do you have a lighter?

MC: No

ML: Then how did you light up my heart?

[collapse]

Spoiler

ML: Why do you address me by 'You'

(Formal form of 'you') ?

.. Some dialogue...

MC: Because you are on my

heart.

D: too bad you can't type Chinese in the comments but basically the word for the formal form of 'you' is made up of the normal form of 'you' written on top of the word for 'heart'.

[collapse]

ML and MC:

The ML appears to be slightly childish and possessive at the beginning but it got better later. It was also cute to see him taking the initiative to learn how to treat the MC better/chase the MC. The character development for the ML was done pretty well.

The MC appears 95% of the time as calm and nonchalant. But he's actually a person with a lot of inner worries.

Although the MC took a long time to respond to ML's feelings, the author brought up good reasons for MC's hesitation. The healing/reassurance for MC was done pretty well too.

Spoiler

Both of them have mental damage that ties into the plot. I do mean mental damage instead of mental illness btw. Although they both do have mental trauma as well.

The mental damage for the ML appeared to have been an unspoken reason for his slight childishness.

[collapse]

Spoiler behind ML's grabbing MC's wrist:

Spoiler

There were a few scenes where they showed the ML accidentally using too much strength when grabbing the MC's wrists. It was only revealed in the second quarter of the story that (if I rmb correctly) ML's hands were actually made of metal which is why he had difficulty gauging the strength of his hands at times.

There was a funny incident when the ML tried to cook an omelette for the MC yet he kept breaking the eggs.

There was also a cute scene in a flashback when the MC taught the ML to write.

The minute I read the confession scene, I decided to give it five stars.

It was just too cute and wholesome! Had me rolling around in bed for half an hour while squealing! Luo Ran, our omega MC is super strong and mature, able to handle most tasks while still being adorable. Then there's Lucas, our rough, bear-like alpha who is hilariously narcissistic at times, but also quite adorable and clumsy with some matters.

I do admit, his possessiveness can go to certain extremes at times, and he's also rather childish too,... more>> but not in a way you'd dislike. It makes for a rather funny read instead of being off-putting, as I have seen in other novels.

Very enjoyable read, not angsty at all. <<less

I never thought that I will write review in NU although I read many novels now in NU. This is sweet, fluffy and wonderful novel. The ML tenderness and caringness is only for the MC.
Although at first the CP don't know their feelings, seeing them slowly realising is truly nice to see. Their natural trust to each other and dependence and their interactions is really wonderful. Its satisfied my appetite very much.
The ML is overbearing and possessive towards the MC and sometimes a bit excessive. The MC is caring and understanding, which is a good pairing. Dont think it is toxic because the ML trust the MC and never hurt him intentionally. The trust between them is what makes the plot success.
This is full of interesting plot I swear it will not bore you.

This was better than I thought. Couldn't stop myself from reading the raws. It's humor, politics, some mystery, and lots of romance. There is one pretty sad part about it but that's what made this story I guess. I love how the MC and ML are both powerful in their own ways.

I don't know if this is considered a spoiler but:

Spoiler

The ML isn't heartless or one of those MLs who hurt the MC's on purpose or anything. There are times he couldn't control himself out of anger or jealousy but he never really wanted to hurt MC and MC knows him well enough to know how to douse his anger. He does have his reasons for treating other people the way he does. And he actually treats MC pretty well despite how he seems to others. I think he's pretty childish whenever he's with MC and it's cute; even the MC thinks so. He's often described as a lion by MC and I think it fits pretty well. He's not only protective of MC but of his subordinates too; like they're part of his pride. He may act like a spoiled child with our MC but he's pretty responsible when he needs to be.

[collapse]

And the sad part:

Spoiler

A lot of things happened to both ML and MC in the past and that gave both of them some sort of trauma. That's also the reason why they were so slow to notice and act on their feelings for each other. That's also why they have/had some social problems as well. Like ML and his family which he doesn't consider family and MC with his own feelings for ML. And also how ML's uncle died and caused ML to be disgusted by human contact except with MC. Though things get known later and some of these problems get solved, that doesn't mean the trauma and hurt don't exist anymore. Good thing they have each other though. They're basically each other's saviors. At least it's a pretty happy ending.

[collapse]

And then there's this spoiler too:

Spoiler

There's also the supporting characters. I like them too. All basically have a pretty happy ending. Can't like the antagonists though. It was great that the author gave me a reason not to feel sorry for that one guy who also likes our MC (I'll leave this blank here XD). A lot of stories make me feel bad for the "second male leads" or whatnot. Since they usually are the ones who treat the MC or FLs better and yet can't get together with them. And maybe does stuff they regret because of this unrequited love. But then the things this guy did doesn't really have anything to do with love. Though he does mention it a few times and he does fall mostly because of his so-called "love" (which I don't think it is? At least it wasn't stronger than his wish for power).

[collapse]

Spoiler

I also really love the story of the MC and ML. It's not completely given to you until near the end and that definitely kept me curious. I won't say exactly so I don't ruin too much but it's cute. It's also a happy ending so no worries. Most of the story is fluff and both of them being oblivious while almost everyone else are just CP fans. The people around them already think they're together while they themselves don't think so. It's funny reading about their interactions with their CP fans.

[collapse]

This is also an MPREG, as stated in the tags. So if you can't accept that then don't read and look for something else. Though actual mpreg doesn't happen until later and doesn't really show much. Like, they only talk about it near the end, don't really focus too much on it, and the story (at least what I read so far. I haven't read the extras yet) ends before he gives birth so...

Honestly, though, I wouldn't mind if it was slightly longer. But I think the length is just right as well. If it was any longer with all that political stuff I might have quit reading. It would've gotten too lengthy and boring.

I guess that's about it. I'm only mentioning the points important to me and that kept me reading this story. Hope it helped. <<less

This is the story of a brain-damaged German shepherd in a trench coat pretending to be human and his autistic handler. Our heroes have been in love with each other for years and are the ONLY people in the entire empire who don't know it. Seriously, Lucas has only two brain cells - one used for mu*der and one focused solely on Luo Ran - and they have the combined EQ of a hermit crab. They have amassed an enormous following of shippers who have chat groups and post updates... more>> about them constantly and are honestly the best thing about this book. This book was written by shippers, for shippers, about shippers, and the author makes sure that EVERY ship sails by the end.

This is the most hilarious thing I've ever read. Don't read it in public because there are going to be so many times you're laughing uncontrollably or yelling/squealing at the screen because these people are insane and I love it. The second hand embarrassment is real, and someone needs to revoke Lucas's internet privileges before I have an aneurysm. I legitimately had to use a breathing treatment because I ended up in a wheezing fit after one of his attempts to be sexy/romantic based on his internet "research". And I can never read the word GeGe again.

All in all, don't take this too seriously but seriously read it. It's good. The story is amazing. The characters are nuts but as you learn about their pasts and traumas their oddities make more and more sense. There are no love triangles (not for lack of other characters trying, but our mains are so oblivious or not into it that nothing happens outside of them) and no messy drama. Even when they don't realize their feelings they are so cute and sweet together, and once they do it becomes a little diabetes inducing. There is no smut though. It feels like there should be, and it's implied, but no smut. So sad.

Spoiler

I will never forget the scene of Lucas chasing Luo Ran, screaming "Get the f*ck back here and be my wife!" while Luo Ran runs through the entire ship in front of everyone, wondering how he got there.

It was good at first and then it got a lil too cheesy and events were glossed over a lil too much. Overall, I was tempted to drop it but my curiosity pushed me on to the end. So, I read the main story and two of the five extras. I skipped the extras about the main couple and MC's older brother.

MC, Luo Ran, and ML, Lucas, have a strictly boss-subordinate relationship but everyone around them thinks they are together or want them together. However, I don't get it since... more>> they kept talking about the couple producing a heir... MC is an omega pretending to be a beta. Hardly anyone knows he's an omega, then how they gonna make a baby? Anyways, they got a bunch of brainless people wanting them to get together. It makes no sense.

A lot of the novel goes against common sense. If you're a reader who prefers logic and emotional connections to your characters, this story can be pushed to your list titled, "Last resort. Don't need to think. Fluff and more cheesy fluff. Might regret reading this."

Spoiler

SPOILERS...

...

MC was an orphan and adopted by his parents. His real family were from Pure City and was annihilated by star pirates. He survived for six months in a cave under the care of an huge insect. There he absorbed energy from the ore UNK.

MC was rescued from the cave by ML and his uncle. MC was then sent to the capital and entered an orphanage. MC didn't remember ML but ML remembered MC and allowed him to be his secretary later on.

MC's spiritual injury was caused when helping ML during his second year of being ML's secretary. Both MC and ML forgot this time period since they both had injuries. However, that was the first time ML marked MC.

BIG SPOILER...

...

The first prince and ML's older brother were the culprits behind ML's drugging. They planned to ruin ML's reputation.

They were also traitors that colluded with star pirates. This led to the death of ML's uncle.

ABO novel with gender equality. Both MC (O) & ML (A) are strong mentally and physically (coz of many duals and practice). Plus they are the best in their own fields and use their own methods to protect each other.

Romance is slow since they take time to realise their own feelings beyond the boss-subordinate relationship. But they are so naive it creates many cute and funny moments. (ML is the cutest 😍)

The plot goes round and round on many mysterious which are interconnected. The villains are few obviouse candidates.... more>> Rest of the characters are around just to make the mysteries more mysterious and cheer for the main couple. No dog blood drama.

A very very good read. I hope someone picks it up for proper translation. <<less

After finishing, my first impression is that the author improved as the novel progressed. It began a bit cliche but then gained depth as the story developed. I enjoyed the mystery of who was behind each dastardly deed as much as the relationship between the MC and ML.

The ML is a bit dense. Childish in some ways. But he joined his uncle in military service at the age of 13 so was somewhat emotionally stunted in the ways of love, although that didn't keep him from supporting the ML when... more>> needed (before they ever got together). He also suffers from past events on the battlefield - as most former soldiers do.

The MC, on the other hand, is one of my favorite type characters. One that people view as weak, but instead is quite competent with hidden depths.

It was heartening when the MC and ML had their first serious, truthful, sincere conversation. Their lives are woven together in strange ways and I was there for all of it.

The novel isn’t perfect. There were a few plot holes and some mystifying events on the battlefield. But, all in all, I liked it. If I didn’t check regularly to see when a novel was going to end, I call it a success.

The extras are also nice as they wrap up the side character’s stories.

My only complaint is a long-running one that shows up in way too many novels. I hesitate to mention it as I’ve written it before – but, authors, please stop with the ‘biting lips until they bleed’ trope. It’s not sexy or sensual when one character violates another’s mouth in this way. <<less

I'm not good at english so expect some grammatical errors

The novel is ok. not too good but it's not bad either.

ML has low EQ so you will find him annoying from time to time (in my opinion) . every time ML appears, I always feel like I'm not really seeing a grown-up man but a child, a brat to be exact. sorry not my type of ml. some might find him cute because his a tsundere (which I also like... the tsundere I mean) but I apologize 'cause... more>> I find him annoying.

I give this story 3/5. It's not bad for beginner readers, but as a seasoned reader I found this story cringy and cliche. It's not the plot that's cliche, but the development and character interactions and dialogues. I usually enjoy lion/puppy type ML vs Rational MC, however I found their personality inconsistent. Sometimes MC seems super strong and smart, but will make the dumb cliche mistake for the sake of driving the plot, ML is a smart (at battle) and strong admiral, but has no clue about anything else. Too... more>> many ineffective plot points, emotion not well developed and not connected. I kept checking how many chapters left, sigh. Will not reread. The translation is good though. <<less

This novel is cringey, some paragraphs made me super awkward, the author keeps talking of "super strong alpha hormones" and "super rare SSS omega blushing".

The ML is acting like a child (cannot pick his own clothes or food) and the MC like a nanny. There is no cute romance stuff, the ML keeps having his way is everything and sometimes with brute forces, not cute at all unless you like a relationship with a manchild.

I finally completed this novel after so many years.. Loved the beginning and the last 20 chapters.. in between was supppper long and kind if boring.. I almost gave up so many times but so glad I pushed through... It was definitely worth it to finally see them get together. 3.5 stars.

Although I liked the novel, it's not without flaws. Some major, some minor. Inconsistencies, plot holes, and a little too much silliness do exist, but I don't know why it really didn't bother me.

Don't get me wrong, there were some serious events that happened either in the past or present, but the author did fail to portray them in a way I could feel the importance of them or make me sad etc.

I classify this as a novel to pleasantly pass the time and not think about logic, timelines... more>> etc. <<less

This novel reminds me of the korean drama what's wrong with Secretary Kim but in ABO setting - Domineering Alpha x Omega Secretary.

Luo Ran, the omega, was responsible not only with the Admiral's work but is more like his wife with how he prepares the Alpha's clothes every day, buying clothes accessories for the Admiral, etc. Lucas on the other hand, abhors physical touch and being in a relationship with anyone (except for the Omega of course).

I thought Lucas would know early in the novel the identity of his one... more>> night stand, but it dragged longer (I almost dropped it cause I was losing patience). However, the flashbacks were integrated well in the story. It ties the plot together revealing how and why certain characters or things happened. Thankfully I was able to finish this.

What I really appreciated in this novel is the fact that the main couple is not the typical Omega being soft and has to be protected at all cost kind of trope. I liked that Luo Ran can stand his ground and can even match some Alpha in sparring. He is capable of protecting himself. I also appreciate the ML, Lucas, for not underestimating his mate at all and even using each other as baits during their war campaigns against the space pirates.

Overall its a good novel to read to past time. <<less

I love this series.

Okay for starters, The name can be misleading. I actually thought that MC had a crush on ML so thats why he pretended to be a B. But not really, he pretended to be a B cuz of family issues.

MC is strong, independent and definitely not a love sick person.

... more>> On the other hand ML is someone with no common sense of life. He can't even remember what he ate for lunch but he can remember that MC can't eat this or that.

He couldn't remember what his fiancé looked like but he did remember to buy some sweets that MC liked when MC was on date.

Its really sweet and fluffy would def recommend it.

Let me tell you my fav scenes

Spoiler

When ML mother asked MC about ML type and he dictated few things in the end ML mother just wrote find someone like luo ran (mc)

[collapse]

Another scene I love is when

Spoiler

MC told someone that he and ML were together and then he had to eat with that person so MC was like I have to pretend to be with ML lets read the blog about 10 things that couple do when eating out.

Abd it was all the stuff they were doing. Like ordering food for each other and sharing their food and such stuff. MC was like wait something is wrong.

Accurate rating would be 3.6/5

This had been on my to-read list for a while now and it started out really promising but it got boring halfway through. The plot and romance is so unnecessarily draggy. It has been pretty obvious since the start that the MC and ML have good feelings for each other so I wasn't expecting the romance to drag out this much.

I actually really like the ML a lot. Sure he is overbearing and unreasonable but he is also attentive and have good morals. His aversion to... more>> people is mostly due to PTSD and having joined the military at a young age, his thinking is straight-forward and he doesn't understand twist and turns. I would say the reason he didn't realize his feelings for the MC is because he have never thought about wanting to fall in love. However, with just a little push he managed to figure out his feelings and pursue MC without hesitation.

On the other hand, the MC feels pretty hopeless and very wishy-washy. There are wayyy more scenarios for the MC to figure out his feelings but he's always avoiding and giving excuses. He's adamant in keeping his professionalism as a secretary and is firm that the ML will never fall in love with anyone even after the ML showed interest and confessed. It's not like the MC have to accept the confession but his actions since the start are highly ambiguous. It's like he wants the good but without any feelings attached. I guess there are reasons for his behavior but it was never hinted and wasn't impactful enough to erase the frustration I felt.

I really liked the MC at the beginning but unfortunately he became a bit of a damsel in distress in the latter half of the novel which made me feel a bit uncertain about the power couple tag. Though I would say I loved the MC and ML's mutual protection and care for each other.

The plot wasn't anything complex so I don't see the point in dragging it out so much. I would have finish reading this novel because I don't like dropping novels when I'm already 3/4 done but the conflict and villains are too uninteresting. For an omegaverse novel, I liked the way the author go about writing it but the plot is too weak. <<less
