I'm probably going to get flack for this, but I find the FL pathetic. There's something about her lack of action and lack of commitment to things that drives me crazy. It's wrapped up prettily in this idea of "dignity, " but quite frankly, I find it more undignified that she allows people to walk all over her. I find her so 2D that I'm wishing that she just dies to spare us the drama of stretching this novel out.

I feel horrible for saying that because I would never wish... more>> death upon anyone struggling mentally, but there's something about her lack of ANYTHING that makes me feel like she's a perpetual victim and wants to stay there. Ugh, and that is very much victim blaming since FL is most likely suffering from strong depression and PTSD 😩 However, I can't stop the feeling that all of her issues snowballed because she didn't have a backbone. Everything was always done for her or to her and she just cries all the time. The FL is honestly mentally/emotionally exhausting to navigate. The author also started waxing compliments about her towards later chapters (90+) but it just felt like filler to me to make her seem "more" - I ended up disliking her more cuz I felt like she was just acting like a martyr.

I can't even blame the ML because he's literally an inhuman being that lacks understanding of human emotions. You can't bind supernatural creatures under the scope of human morality. They literally view humans as worms, as ants - even we as humans view these creatures as nothing in our day to day routine, so what are we to creatures who are potentially immortal?

I'm having mixed feelings about this novel. I do enjoy the writing flow (thanks to the translator!), but the MCs are not great imo. Final rating TBC once I finish. <<less

This novel is dark. If you can't handle the dark stuff and then comment here, "Hiw can ML do that, it's too disgusting" thingy, I really would just throw my broom on you.

ML is not a human, so for him Human conscience; Honesty; Sympathy; Kindness; Pity; Afraid of losing the loved ones ~ these are practically unimaginable.

He had stayed alone for eons of years, being betrayed by even the most trusted person beside him, won't he be blackened like ink?

You can't judge him with a human perspective. It's like an Alien, who's wondering why humans have so many complicated things. If you're Ally = Alive; Enemy = Dead; Stranger = Keep a eye ~ Won't it be enough?

Why it's like "He's my enemy, but I still like him // He's my love, but I hate him too"!!

If we don't have Feelings; we will be robots; without feelings is our ML. An Alien; terrifying power + no feelings = BOOM 🌋

FL is strong too. My oh my, ML didn't f*ck her physically, FL was mentally f*cked and my emotions were disarray because of this.

I was terrified, was happy, was tensed, was sad, was feeling nostalgic, as well as feeling sweet at the end.

It's a free ROLLERCOASTER ride of emotions; enjoy it. 😉

Really had to force myself to complete this story. I was expecting more to it than FL suffering left and right and losing her mind more than once. Tried to understand ML is not human but this was just nicely wrapped abusive story

It actually is a pretty good novel and it is exactly as it is advertised. However it would be better for people who do not like reading stories including yanderes to avoid it since it can get pretty sadistic.

A surprisingly good story overall. Very dark -- Villain is a villain is a villain is a villain -- and that's what I like about it.

This is more of a psychological thriller than I had initially expected, which made it very unique compared other "otome villainess reversal" novels in this genre.

I also very much enjoyed the MC's really horrible dysfunctional family. Some of the way her family acted really explained how she grew up super love-starved and trying to be "perfect" so that she could get their approval/love, was what often landed her in a certain situation to start with.

So we have a story about a MC who doesn't know what it means to be loved with an ML who doesn't know how to love. Very good match.

And probably the reason why she eventually forgave him: despite the sh*t he did to her, he apologized, regretted it, and actually changed. And he genuinely gave up everything for her.

Which I cannot say for the rest of her family.

Happy ending, definitely worth getting to.

Translation is a mixed bag, character names and pronouns often mixed up (I recommend Grammarly) and the idioms and expressions were either completely literal or didn't have any coherency in English at all. Translator's notes didn't help much with the flow of the story and sometimes contained spoilers. <<less

Interesting story.

Will put this on-hold because I'm feeling like this isn't my cup of tea lol. I'm just not liking the FL's personality and character but it will probably gets better in the later chapters but I'm planning to read this when I don't have any other story to read.

For the sake of the author and translators, I will not rate this story due to me judging this story too early but anyways, the plot is interesting and unique so I may recommend it.

I really, really like this novel so far. I hope the updates keep coming. I strangely love the ML and how twisted he is. It’s nice to see him change his actions for the FL. There’s more romance headed in further chapters I believe!! (Or hope lol).

The ML is clearly not human. To treat him as such is naive. He has never had real relationships with anyone, and views humans as “pets.” The FL outwits him and is able to test his intentions with her. However, due to MLs previous treatment of her, FL is slowly losing her mind (PTSD from witnessing a tragic death of a character she came to like). She is now having trouble discerning what is real and lacks trust in those around her. ML is slowly working towards showing her his “love”, but it will be interesting to see how he helps her regain her sanity - if possible. FL has never had a family to love her, neither has ML. They are both similar in ways.

The conversations were so bland and seemed monosyllabic though they were actual sentences lol. It felt like reading random sentences put together in a chapter.

There's no unique characterization of different people in the novel. All seemed like lifeless puppets robotically blurting out their lines. There was no soul in this novel and I am surprised how it is rated above 4 stars.

I was fed up of FL being usually torn between hurls of her useless father and blandly going with the flow but also want to reject things happening with her. She seemed even more purposeless than ml. Sorry it's not my cup of tea.

Absolutely amazing novel. If you are looking for an extreme, intense yandere that somehow acts like a gentleman (despite all he has done) this is the novel for you. I’ve read many yandere novels and I have never been so absolutely batsh*t terrified of the ml. He never harms her physically, but emotionally... Absolutely petrified through the screen. Despite everything, he is so well written it is impossible to hate him. 11/10 best Yandere novel I have ever read. (I set up my account to make this review)

When she “ran away” and Nathaniel essentially recreated the Truman show... My jaw dropped open and did not close for a long time. Also how he slowly goes from uncaring if she breaks to regretting everything is so well done

LOVE THEMMMMMMMMMMMM!! It gets a bit tiring in the middle because it won't go the way you expect, the 'satisfying romance novel' way, I agree that it was so horrific. But in the end, I still love them both!!

I love how realistic it is. ML is not a human so naturally he would only pursue what he wanted without thinking about the emotions of the FL. FL is human so obviously she would run away after all that is done to her by the ML.

The story is very mysterious and thrilling. I like how even thought it is a fantasy, the story and attitudes of the characters make sense.

This novel really has me up and down. It's really really good till I pity the characters. The way ML can't understand and how to express love is devastating. At that act play arc really makes my heart breaks. The author describe ptsd in FL shakes my mind... Sigh... I sometimes want to slap the ML in the head

I created an account just to write this review!

This has easily become one of my favorite novels.

A story that's heart wrenching and beautiful at the same time. Although it starts off a bit cliche it quickly shifts into a unique story, the motivations/ backstory's for the characters are flushed out, the world building is fantastic, the writing and translations are superbly done. This is NOT a lighthearted fluff story, there is definitely angst and drama and it's done well.

There is no greater compliment I can give it then I read... more>> it all in under 3 days.

I have a terrible attention span and get bored very easily, That's how compelling this novel was for me. Although a bit slow at the start it's still good and it gets even more captivating as the story progresses.

I personally really liked the ML. If you like dark characters, I think you'll enjoy his character but that being said

The ML is not a good guy. So don't expect....'oh it was all a huge misunderstanding'. No he does bad things intentionally and even though we get to understand his practically non existent moral compass, and see his motivations that doesn't erase the messed up stuff he does, to our MC and other characters.

Also I love the female lead, mostly because She felt "real", she isn't a Mary Sue but a real person. Although I have developed quite a tolerance to main characters making dumb illogical decisions (no hate I still love those FL's even if sometimes they are a bit silly!lol) this novel is a breath of fresh air where I agreed or was at least able to follow her thought process and decisions.

Alot of authors kinda butcher how characters react to trauma, having them be sad for a day and then shake it off. Or have them do a complete 180 in their character. In contrast, in this novel it was handled very well. The way she processes trauma and her reactions to her overall situation, are very realistic. How the pain shapes her character and thought process was very well portrayed as well as heart wrenching. (FTR people have different trauma responses depending on the situation and individual but Kyrie's experience and behavior were close to the patterns you would see in real life trauma survivors.)

This novel is worth the read. The angst took me to deeper ends but those cute little moments between the leads brought me solitude. The ending of the novel must be a consolation for the trauma we had as a reader lol

Anyway, thanks to Jasmine and her team for translating this story! Greatly appreciated it.

This book has become one of my favorite novel from this site. Great plot with right amount of angst that makes you keep reading nonstop. I read so many bad comments about ML but I really liked him and his twisted mind. If you can understand him better than you'll know why he is that way. From the moment he was created he was always abandoned, betrayed, lied and attacked. So he never knew how to care or love. His character development from beginning to the end was really interesting.... more>> I think I will never forget ML "Nathaniel" even after I read so many other books. <<less

A romance between a rando noblewoman and immortal literally born from evil, what could go wrong. This novel will show you the most irredeemable monster to ever exist and make you feel bad for him. 9/10, never show me this thing again, I'll cry.

I read everything but the last 12 extra chapters which haven’t been translated (tl’s stopped in 2022), but I’ve read the bulk of the novel and it’s quite enjoyable. I struggle with het romance and while I enjoy angst I can’t stand novels that have the ML causing the angst for some s*upid reason. Not a problem with this novel.

I had fun reading this and the story felt surprisingly deep and wasn’t childish like some novels that have similar themes.

Sigh. Where to even start? I started reading after seeing a thread in Reddit comparing which is worse between Magnus, Nathaniel, John and another guy (of different yandere manhwa/novel, IYKYK). I thought I came prepared.

Nathaniel is just on a league of his own, not comparable to others in the same genre. Obviously clear headed and painfully logical to be called crazy, not even human so all kinds of humanity, common sense or human rights do not even register, manipulative and experienced unlike some others who act on instinct to their... more>> possesiveness or obsession. A contradiction of something in a beautiful human skin that could act the sweetest in one second and cruelest in the next. Kinder and caring than anyone in Kyrie’s life but more cruel and sadistic than any human being.

And I never wished for a redemption for a yandere guy so much before. Because if it did, I just knew both of them could be GLORIOUS together.

My heart broke again and again for Kyrie, and whenever I thought she would break down, she didn’t. Until she finally did, and it gave me a painful satisfaction to read Nathaniel’s pov of the situation.

This is like a journey of a childish god finding one special amusing ant in an anthill filled with jumping ants. How he decides to keep it as a pet and tortures it because he doesn’t believe this ant can survive everything to be with him. And then shocked to find that the ant breaks instead of hating its owner. Instead analogy ever.__.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed this novel very well, Nathaniel is a jerk but his attitude is understandable given the fact that he is not human. I really love Kyrie for not forgiving Nathaniel so easily.
