Kim Dokja does not consider himself the protagonist of his own life. Befitting the name his parents gave him, he is a solitary person whose sole hobby is reading web novels. For over a decade, he has lived vicariously through Yu Junghyeok, the main character of the web novel Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse (TWSA).

Through Junghyeok, Dokja has experienced secondhand the trials of repeatedly regressing in time, in search of an end to life-threatening “scenarios” that force people to act out narratives for the amusement of god-like “Constellations.”

After reading 3,149 chapters—long after all other readers lost interest—Dokja finally resigns himself to the story ending. However, he receives an enigmatic message from the author, stating that the story will soon be monetized, before his surroundings suddenly go dark.

He swiftly realizes that fiction has become reality and he is now living through TWSA. Although he is the singular omniscient reader of the events yet to come, his success in the scenarios is not guaranteed—but perhaps his advantage will empower him to step into the protagonist role that never suited him before.

This is honestly the worst novel I've ever read and I've read some pretty terrible ones. It could have been good, the whole 'live-streamed death game' and 'world of a novel brought into the normal world' could have been interesting, but those concepts were ruined by terrible characters, a repetitive plot, and random jumps of logic that aren't explained til after the situation is over.

None of the characters are likable at all, they're all jerks and/or creepily possessive and there's no character development. There's character degradation though.

The plot is the... more>> same thing over and over again: something happens and Dokja knows how to solve it cause of the novel, that will be repeated a couple of times until there's a situation that can only be solved by Dokja sacrificing himself, his 'friends' will protest him doing so but he'll do it anyway, after a while he'll come back and his friends will all get mad at him for sacrificing himself. And then rinse and repeat.

Kim Dojka's plans are never explained until after everything is done, which gives the impression the author is making stuff up as he goes.

And then there's the mythology stuff, ORV takes mythology and characters from a bunch of different cultures, shoves them all together and then goes "Well actually this myth actually happened this way, and this things was a lie and was actually done by this person" and overall is just very disrespectful towards things people actually believe in.

The only reason I managed to make it as far as I did was that it felt too ironic to quit reading a novel about a guy who benifited from being the only person who didn't quit reading a novel. Save yourself the trouble of even starting to read though, this novel is awful. <<less

No one faces any consequences and it starts to somehow feel no one will really die? The risk factor is basically non existent in this novel.

Even when someone really dies they are brought back to life with deus ex machina or some BS several times.

The plot is all over the place and it is tiresome to follow it and you eventually start skimming them.

I simply couldn't enjoy the novel because it tries to cater to only shounen fans and discards any seinen or other genre attributes.

Typical Racist Author who picture Japanese ppl as a bad guy in a lot of scene to the point I doubt his inferiority complex.

If he hate Japanese that much then first better stop using Japanese plot.

Not really unique, a typical mix of several already existing novels/manga/anime, the title really should be changed to "Omniscient Reader’s Plot Armor", basically there is zero suspense or build up given the fact the "MC" we read about who co-exists with the "proper" MC knows everything we do not know.

This means that out of nowhere, no matter what happens to the MC, even in dire situations, the MC can suddenly just sit there and do nothing and bam "Unexpected Situation X" just happens because reasons, this happens pretty much non... more>> stop to the point of s*upidity...

Even near the start the MC technically "loses" only to swim in the water, gets eaten by a big ass animal, but nope, he hasnt failed because there is hidden situation x that no1 but he knows about to save his bacon, this just happens repeatedly making the entire story pretty pointless and dull.

It is also another 1 of those lazy game/skill/stat info dump novels where most of each chapter is just pointless filler material that serves zero purpose other than to needlessly boost word count.

Okay I really love This Novel. But thats not the reason I wrote this review. Now I'm the kind of reader who rarely writes reviews and just enjoys the novel, so at first I was not intending to write one. But after I saw one comment that got on my nerves I had to.

So according to that person, one of the cons of novel was how a measly unsuccessful office worker was unrealistically able

to become such a smart cookie. They thought it was unreasonable and not Logical how he suddenly... more>> gained wits to tackle the scenarios even if he did read the original novel.

Now this is quite obvious from their comment that this readernim either hasn't properly read the novel or forgotten much about it. Cuz it was clearly mentioned by Yoo Sangah in teh latter parts that Kim Dokja has always been a smart person !! He was never a measly unsuccessful office worker. Even during their interview where they had to find something, her and Kim dokja got paired up and using their wits together they got the top score out of all the candidates ! Like she said Kim dokja helped their team alot back then.

Now the reason why Dojka may have been dubbed as ' unsuccessful worker' and about to be kicked out must be cuz he was not like your usual worker who would bend and bow to the superiors and heed their order to do overtime or go forcefully to drinking parties. And he was never too shy to go against the superiors orders if he felt it was inconvenient to him. He would always leave at 7 regardless of what others had to say. And remained to himself without interacting with others much.

As said by by Yoo Sangah she admired this Dokja who unlike her never bowed to others and compromised himself for superiors. And even when he needed to out her as culprit who tampered with coffee, he didn't and just lied about not seeing anyone. Depsite knwoing that if he did he could very well have been promoted or given a permanent position in the company.

So when Yoo Sangah clearly told us how cool and smart Dokja was then how can someone say that his change during scnario is unreasonable or illogical just based on what his faulty narrative said at the beginning ?! When it's clear taht Dokja has never been one to yield to others and has aleasy been smart, jsut like in teh scenarios.

And knowing how companies work it's quite clear why Dokja would not be hired by company. Cuz no matter how smart companies cleary don't like people who don't bend and bow to the superiors and knowing Dokja's lonely nature he must not have had friends there. So it's quite obvious why at such a work culture Dokja might be dubbed as ' unseccessful worker ', when he clearly is not one!

Now I have more complains regarding more points form that comment but I'll shed light on them later.

  • And their another complain which I absolutely couldn't get head or tails of was that ' supposedly ' the side characters have no backbone or features aside from roaming aound Dokja and depending on him all the time. Ans that yoo junghyuk wa the only better character as he didn't give all his attention to Dokja or revolve around him.
  • Liek WTF ?! Have even read the novel properly cuz if u did then you woudlnt be saying this kind of bullsh*t ! Like throughout teh novel we see them grow on their own away from Dokja and gain their own stories and become stronger while developing as characters. Their entire personalities dont revolve around Dokja but it's just that they love and admire the person has saved them and made them come this far while sacrificing himself for their sake many times. They wish to protect that person who always pours them first while having no sense of worth for himslef such a precious creature who has always kept their team together ans never backed down from adversities .

  • And having gone through so much together ist only natural that they want to cherish him and protact him and bring him back, ' which this person calls " obsessing over him".
  • Dokj has always been their salvation so it's only natural that they too become his safe space ! So no I don't think their wish to get back Dokja and actions which revolve around him are brainless or obsessive as they said. Cuz if I had someone like that to me then I too would do the same.

  • Who says that only those in romantic love can sacrifce for each other ? I believe besides romantic affections there are other type of bonds and love that can make you wanna bring back that person at any cost and go to the end of teh world for them. And that's the kind of love the companions have for Dokja,

    . So don't sully their growth as person and their love for Dokja as some mere illogical obsession.

  • And next time read novel properly without prejudice and comparing it with other novels incessantly.

From the very beginning this is a weird story; where the apocalyptic scenario of a barely read WN becomes everyone's reality. With deadly missions portrayed like some sadistic live streaming game show. With little Korean Goblins as the host. And well-known Legends as voyeurs. Following the only "average" adult male who read the whole WN (really?), as he struggles to find helpful companions, whilst rapidly trying to survive through these messed scenarios.

At times the scenarios become difficult to follow, with how much info is dumped into all of them, how... more>> convoluted character's schemes are and how not a single one of Kim Dokja's plans is without its hiccups. But its sporadic nature is what allows this novel to avoid a lot of obvious clichés, making outcomes incredibly difficult to predict. Yet even that becomes its own formula, where I end foreseeing the exact moment for yet another nonsensical battle, with the last 200 or so chapters becoming a chore to read. <<less

It's hard to summarize a novel like ORV, but as I remember someone saying, ORV is a love story. It doesn't have romance, but it functions as a love letter to every single reader out there who has ever felt like Kim Dokja. It really is a story for anyone who loves stories. The novel's straightforward yet effective prose manages tell a story that has touched me in ways I never knew was possible.... more>> To be able to be live in a time and world where ORV exists is a blessing. Thank you, authors, it has been a wonderful time reading this novel. <<less

This is a novel that I really like, that i've grown to hate over the thousands of pages and hundreds of chapters, and the only reason I finished it was that i've spent too much time on it already. The author constantly berates the webnovel that the main character reads - and I feel the same way.... about this novel. In fact, I will put some no spoiler quotes from chapter 454.

  • "Could it be that you yourself can't explain this and are just coming up with random stuff???"
  • "We're currently stuck inside a crap novel. Since the original was crap, this is the end result. "
  • "If I was this novel's writer, I'd have stopped doing (this) at once or twice. Even the () probably can't figure out whats going on here".
What makes the novel bad is because the novel is written like a story chain game, where the author is the only player. He constantly makes things up, to the point that it isn't enjoyable to read. If character A is weaker than character B in the last battle, character A could be overwhelmingly more powerful than character B in the next battle, because "Author writes some made up excuses".

There were also a lot of references to mythologies that we as readers may not be familiar with, and... more>> some of them are korean mythologies. A lof of these references weren't explained, and the way he refer to them isn't set either, it changes all the time, that you've got to keep track of it to understand who he was referring to, and later on, realize that maybe it matters not who he was referring to, because you know he'll just make up the next section anyway out of thin air.

The main character likes to keep his friends in the dark. He also likes to keep us in the dark. Things happens that would put his friends and us, on edge as we fear the worse, and later on we find out that it was planned by him. Then he does it again. And again, and again. His friends hates him for doing it, and I hate him too. It is like watching goku getting beaten up, to only go and say, and hahaha! I have another transformation right here! over and over and over again over the span of thousands of pages. At least dragonball is a movie.

Dont read this book. The manga showed promise, but now that I know what the book is about, I am worried that the authors of the manga hasn't actually read the novel to completion yet, because I can't imagine them trying to draw some of the scenes that the author just made up.

This book is crap. The most interesting part of the story was at the beginning, when we were presented with an apocalyptic scene and believe that we are living a novel that becomes reality. When MC was focused more on staying alive and saving himself. Once that arc is over, and we realize that this is just a tiny piece of the theme, and really, this novel is about constellations, myths, stories, and how stories or fables have powers, etc etc, it became unbearable. The MC forgot his chaotic neutral character and went pure good. He would sacrifice himself over and over for his friends, that it got boring. Really? he is going to die again in this next section? Without telling anyone that was the plan all along? Without consulting anyone? Its like people sharing life and death situation can't simply talk through their plans. So what was that "preparation time" before the scenarios was all for? Usually you start with a semi unlikeable MC, and grow to like them over time. I grew to really hate this MC.

And the way the author refers to constellations. You could start a wikipedia with how freely he changes names. For example, Sun wu kong is prisoner of the golden headband. Okay... make sense. Or sometimes, he refers to him as, Great Sage, Heaven's Equal. Okay.. Or sometimes, Most Ancient Liberator. what?... oh wait. turns out there are other characters that is also called Sun Wu Kong.... they are Meihouwang, Bimawen, Douzhanshengfo.

Really? how can we keep track of all these terms? This is just for a myth that is semi familiar to me. There are korean myths that makes zero sense to one who isnt familiar with them. Then indian myths, then norse, then....

No. do yourself a favour and don't read this.

A 5 STARS *****, Of course, this novel is not entirely perfect, but this book made me CRY LIKE A BABY, it hurts so good (sounds sus). This novel genuinely gripped my emotions like only a few novels ever had.

I'm glad I did not drop this because I would survive in the apocalypse (like a minute longer than you noobs who dropped the story and review it without finishing it *raises middle finger*)

About the MC

  • The MC is OP and got a literal plot armor but HE GOT PERSONALITY (his pov is not boring to read because hes not a gary stue or dude who had dead soul like you)
  • His natural talent is SCAMMING (he scammed not just the fictional characters but me too at the end of the story, this bastard tsk)
  • He's f*cking s*upid and lovable (im typing this while crying)
  • 10/10
About the Side Characters

  • Do you know how long I have been finding a novel with interesting side characters? WELL THIS IS IT
  • They are realistically portrayed and relatable (they have distinct personalities and are not stereotypes)
  • If you are expecting a love interest or harem involving them, then BAD FOR YOU. THIS AINT IT. They aren't simps (like you)
  • 10/10

I find it ridiculous that some are going here to judge a story while reading a few chapters only. Excuse me but you don't have the right. As an avid fan of fantasy, I absolutely love this. While there are plot holes and cliches, this is undeniably one of the most enjoyable webnovels I've ever read. Let me list it's charming points.

  1. MC who's a ridiculously relatable and has an actual personality (shocks he's not a ruthless killing machine).
  2. f*cking Character Development
  3. Side characters are not just there to be stepped on and make the MC shine, they have distinct personalities and very lovable.
  4. STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS in a shounen/seinen genre? (Hats off to the author who respect women power)
  5. Plot twists that will make your brain twist
  6. Their relationships are actually realistically made and not awkward HOW
  7. This is written by a couple (just to make you feel even more single)
  8. World building (though the translator at the half gave me a headache, thanks for everything though!)

I've made an account solely to review this. This isn't the first masterpiece I've ever read. Or at least what I considered as one. For me, a masterpiece is not just one due to the exquisite way it was written, the coherent way it all come back together as if being hit a large brick of realization "Oh... this...!" Indeed, it's the moment you become speechless and realize that no words could ever begin to describe the feeling, because at that very moment you know it's a "masterpiece". Not only... more>> due to the shocking plot twists, the 3-Dimensionality of the characters, as if you knew, deep inside, they are real, it's not only due to the way the story was written, not only due to the investment of emotions, that you as a reader, has started rooting for these beings in the story, instead, it's everything above and more, that make me consider a book, a masterpiece.

I have a a very high standard for my masterpiece list, I've been reading for 6 years now, ever since in my youth and until now, my adolescence. To this day, my list is still less than 10. It might not be much, I don't even consider myself an expert, but I am still a reader. As I kept consuming stories, the web platforms changed from time to time, I don't think I've ever left comments the way Kim Dokja did in "The ways of Survival". Instead I frantically read every story that caught my interest without stop, not even leaving them a review. The simplest reason was that I was too lazy. I thought I would do it one day, but I didn't, until I read this story.

To be honest, I've stumbled upon this novel way back before it was still incompletely translated, I no longer remember, but I think it only had 50 chapters or so translated. At that time I read it, kept it in my to-wait list, then never looked back. For I have forgotten it. From time to time, I would pass it, but some sort of misconception seems to grow inside me, perhaps it's due to the countless novels I've read that it began to become mixed up, but I suddenly had a resistance to reading it due to remembering it being "bad". But now that I have read it, my memories was indeed mixed up. I no longer remember why I didn't read it before, but that sort of pause allowed me to read everything in one go, so while I was not part of the journey in waiting, I have arrived at the end all the same. I've binge-read this for 5 or 6 days straight. And now.

This review isn't the normal one that critiques the plot, characters, settings, and etc.

This review is my way of leaving a mark on the wall, even when the other side cannot reach it. Hoping that one day, someone will read it. And my message to you, is to read it.

For this story has made me realize that I too was a reader like Kim Dokja. I too has lived on stories to fuel me, to continue with my life, to continue forward, to wake up one more time so I too, "could read the next chapter".

And that is why, I believe, whether it is fiction or reality, that Kim Dokja is living his happiest dream, in a big house, with Yoo Junghyuk, Han Seo yung, the kids, Shin Yeusung & Lee Gilyoung, those pair, Jung Heewon, Lee Hyunsung, Lee Jihye, Biyuu, Jang Hayoung. And the rest watching over him, Uriel, the monkey, Sun Wukong, that chuuni Abyssal Black Flame Dragon, Goryeo the First sword, the Hongik constellation, his mother Lee Seokyung, and the rest of the world. They are all happy. This is the ending, I as a reader believe he had, will have, and already have.

i swear it's a funny novel!! :)) all jokes aside, this is really good. The plot is really interesting and the side characters are somehow all relevant in their own way, all of them with unique personalities and backstories.

This novel is fully translated, actually! Just not listed here. The subreddit for the series has a link to a pdf. Also has a comic adaptation over at webtoon (tm).

Ah, orv. Where to start? I have many, many good things to say about this novel. Omniscient reader starts off as a typical novel of its genre- protag, Dokja, knows the plot of a novel that's becoming reality and has a dumb advantage over everyone else for it. And for a part of the novel, that is very much what orv... more>> is. Your usual power fantasy apocalypse fantasy novel, much like others in its genre.

But orv's entire plot and uniqueness centers around human relationships, found family and bonds that trascend time. Dokja is particularly an interesting protagonist, and his relationships with people and the world around him are quite complex. Orv deals with a lot of topics in very respecful ways that I find entrancing. The action scenes are thrilling and the emotional ones are, just, really good. In a way you can't explain unless you're there, in the scene, with all its context. The pacing of the novel is good, and the arcs flow and blend together naturally. Character development is present as well. I could get more into it if I were to spoil the series away.

I definitely think its worth a read, and its my top 1 favorite novel. I genuinely, genuinely love this book. <<less

What disappointed me the most in this novel is:

Why the f*ck did the MC's IQ (Kim Dokja) always go offline, always downgraded, always drop drastically, whenever he faced the Protagonist (Yoo Junghyun) !!!???

I really, really like the premise of this story. I like the MC's character as well. He is rationale, calm, quickwit, and decisive. So, what annoyed me the most is, all of those amazing qualities goes down the drain whenever he met Protagonist!!! f*ckerrrrrrrrrr!!!!! I got so annoyed, and literally wondering, "Is this a general novel, or is this a supposed BL novel with a supposed to be calm and cool uke/bottom who always become weak and s*upid in front of a seme/top!!??" I thought I could run away from this kind of ridiculous notion that haunted the... more>> BL's section when I read a general novel, but this novel give me the same nightmare of the Famous phenomenon "IQ went the drain when encountering a certain character". Oh God...

I could stomach the repititive plots, I could stomach the MC's godly golden finger, I could stomach the Deus ex-machina or whatever plot armor the MC is having, I could stomach the fast pace of every arcs or events, I could stomach the MC's cliche Webnovel Protagonist with bullying past and trauma, I could stomach literally everything.

BUT!! I couldn't stomach IQ's goes offline, I couldn't stomach the MC literally become a hapless kid in front of the Protagonist, forgetting all of the basic setting of his supposed to be cool, calm, quickwit and decisive personality! I couldn't stomach the so called "bickering" that goes against the sky and makes so many UNNECESSARY misunderstanding, like bruhhh, I thought you have resolved your communication problem dozens and even hundreds chapters ago???

Author-nim, is the MC's IQ goes offline supposed to be GAP MOE??? A gap moe where the MC become a totally different person (IQ's dropping at a significant rate) in front of the Protagonist??? Is the MC and Protagonist misunderstanding supposed to be a young couple (or perhaps a middle school couple?) 's quarrel who went suspicious and misuderstood at every single thing??? <<less

I thought i'd give this a try since there are so many comments praising this novel, but it seems this is not for me.

The writing style of the novel along with the content of the first few chapters makes it a drag to read. Plainly, its boring. When I cant even get past 10 chapters no matter how good the novel is in the next chapters I cant give a decent rating.

I have noticed this writing style in some other korean novels as well. It seems its actually a korean... more>> thing. Its just bad from my perspective.

For example Solo Leveling, is actually one of my favorite novels, but the writing style I dont like compared to other counterparts of the Chinese Novels. But still Solo Leveling kept me interested since the beggining even though I didnt like the writing style.

But with this novel I am bored since the beggining.

The start of a novel is probably the most important part in order to attract readers, but ORV is plainly boring at the start.... <<less

Reality is, more often than not, cruel. And so begins the struggle to escape from it.

This is a story about a reader.

At first, I began reading this, expecting another one of those 'OP, rebirth dungeon' types of story. But boy, was I wrong.

While it may have elements similar to those types of novels, ORV has this unique take on the concept of power. Interconnecting such idea with the concept of 'story', the authors Sing and Song had woven a fantastical view for us. Quite realistic, too. As in the manner... more>> in which the type of story we have built and accumulated (throughout our lives), are the very basis of who we are now — though in this novel, this is translated as, 'power' and 'strength'.

It may seem generic at first, with KDJ seemingly bearing similarities to other novel protags, 'power' is not the main focus here. It's the friends we made along the way.

It's the relationships born out of hardships and survival. It's how those bonds can flourish — even piecing together a broken man, or granting one a new hope for life.

KDJ's journey wasn't necessarily one of action, about growing omnipotent and conquering the world.

It was about how he once again found himself, a solace, and sincere, lifelong bonds as he continued navigating through the broken world.

For that, I would give this novel a 10/10. The world-building, plot, the protagonist, as well as the side characters were well fleshed out.

I like how members of KDJ's company built a strong bond, how they continued to support each other, even willing to make sacrifices for one another. Like how

HSY chose to sacrifice the world, just for a possibility that KDJ won't die; how YJH chose to infinitely regress, even giving up his own established happy ending, just to see KDJ again. (Also how he became an unemployed astronaut lol). JHW branding KDJ as the 'world' she wished to save, etc.

That in itself is a valuable thing, more so for the post-apocalyptic world they have come to call home. Perhaps this was the reason KDJ chose to continuously do 'that'.

On a (very) biased view, I want to give the ending a 4/10. It's very traumatizing, especially for someone looking for a happy ending.

I do believe that it's the "happy ending" KDJ thought would be best for his companions, but no. As JHW said, his "salvation" was cruel, like giving a hand to a drowning man, only for them to realize that hand was full of thorns (I can't remember the exact quote, it's been a while).

But hey, "none can pursue a happy ending without any sacrifices." And for some reason, broken man KDJ thought he's the best for this task.

I understand, that 50 chapters is too little to rate, but people saying that the start is the best part...

So many 5 stars for this tr*sh? I seriously don't understand why. Premise is the whole Earth is becoming a TV show for basically "aliens". Who forcing all people to participate in some battle royal games while watching it with some type of twitch chat. People get RPG stats and skills, quests working like in games, green safe zones and you know... bullsh*t like that. GMs for some reason have full... more>> control on people lives and even the world. Why is that - just because, you know, games is fun right? No. Good games is fun and this is not the one.

MC is just another loser in life who reads novel for ten years and once it become reality... Boy oh boy he immediately becoming the most manipulative hypocrite, master of mind games and planning. Why he was is loser with such godlike abilities for climbing social ladder? Mystery. His cheat giving him a full info about people stats and skills, he can read their minds once he know them a little more than Hell0-Hello level, just to be sure that no one ever will be smarter than him.

People around him basically NPCs, for example he needs to "evolve" his companion skill. So he talks to him and saying a lot of nice things to him, like you strong, people trust you etc But this dude knows him for barely a day, and it feels like in games where you can just throw gifts to NPC and level up affinity from 0 to max in couple of minutes. If someone dares to question MC decisions - trust me, he is gonna be slapped in the face 5 minutes later, since he is omnipotent god remembers every quest, dungeon, loot and so on.

Overall, MC unlikable, ppl around him is just sidekicks NPC, stream stuff at twitch chat level. Plenty of munchkin stuff, equipment with tiers, leveling stats, some bullsh*t skills and so on, I don't feel like postapocalypse needs all of this. They constantly killing other peoples just for aliens fun to complete "quests" without any second thoughts. I guess 1000 chapters later they gonna turn on them, but I don't think it's gonna be any better. I just can't find any reason to read further. <<less

I tried to like this novel. I really do.

Many people say it's greater than Solo Leveling... but no it's not. I dropped it on 300 something chapter. The protagonist just let the people walk over him.

Okay, the novel he's reading became reality. Then, he met the protagonist of that novel... so what did he do? Be a coward. Because it was described in the novel that the protagonist of the novel is crazy and arrogant, so he let him do his way and let him walk all over him. He... more>> doesn't have the guts to say no when the protagonist of the novel say "this is mine" even though he's the reason why the good items dropped. Everything good has to be given to the so-called protagonist of the novel. f*cking annoying.

I also super hate the character Lee Jihye, the sidekick of the protagonist of the novel. She's always super disrespectful to our protagonist. Always blaming him for everything and calling him ugly, likes to shame him, always rude to him even though he's the reason why she's alive til now. Ungrateful b*tch. I hope she dies. Lol. <<less

I'd like to issue a warning, if you don't like ambiguous endings do not read this novel. And don't ever look the characters up on the ORV fandom wiki. There are massive spoilers completely out in the open.

I like this book but I also hate it. The beginning of this novel was intriguing. The characters, the plot, everything was well written. I really loved reading it. Sometime towards latter third of this novel, things changed. I began to feel like I was reading an OOC fanfction. I caught myself thinking,... more>> "Is this for real??" numerous times. Things that went against the flow kept happening. The characters stopped feeling real. It felt like their personalities had been shifted just so certain things could happen. Nevertheless, I continued reading until the last word.

I feel truly dissatisfied. I am frustrated. I love these characters and I feel like they lost their free will. Forced to behave in a manner unlike themselves in order to achieve the authors' desired ending. I have so many questions in the end. I want to question the authors, why would so and so do this? Couldn't they have done this instead?

From the start these characters were intelligent and determined. So many of their actions in the latter third of this novel contrasted with their personalities established in the beginning. It wasn't character development but the opposite. They lost their depth. I'm certain that the authors manipulated the characters to achieve their desired ending. Truly, an injustice.

In the end, I had this thought. If we, the readers, are the constellations, then the authors are the dokkaebis. The storytellers who value the story over the characters. <<less

A horribly beautiful story.

It starts strong with the classic korean-novel like regression and litRPG elements and brutal nature but betrays itself after a couple hundred chapters, when it turns into a complete lalaland. It does manage to redeem itself in its 40 chapter long epilogue but by then most my interest on the story was gone and while the package was nicely wraped-up and with a beautiful first apearance, the content is rotten.

I'm personally glad I pushed through the story to it's end thanks to sunk-cost fallacy but to new... more>> readers I advise against reading this novel. The beginning is too strongly disconected from what this story truly is, it's like you start reading game of thrones but mid-way the story got swapped with a disney fable and in the end swapped to a zero escape game.

The story's true overall plot is it's biggest strenght yet it's only rly at it's best during it's epilogue with few moment given to shine between each arc.

The system governing the novel power system starts seemingly rigid but towards the middle of the novel becames completely lax to a frustrating degree. Every fight seems like it may go whichever way with any possible conclusion which is heavily disliked. Over and over again the characters survive impossible situations due to luck, new allies apearing out of thing air and opponents giving up due to being "too expensive" to deal with, only to later have them spend more and more and depite having things described as being expensive everyones pockets are emptyless and they aways drive the characters just to edge of defeat. It trully becames annoying after seeing it happen the third time, only to ahve it happen next to 10 times through the story.

Throughout most of the novel the fights are embarassingly long, convuluted and eratic with too much words wasted on the constelation messages which by then are just repetitive. The fight's description are also as lax as you can get and there are always insignificant sacrifices and at least 3-4 plot-twists or new challengers showing up to be defeated by new allies or unexpected power-ups.

Most of the cast is a bunch of irredeamable idiots with an extremelly bland and hypocrit MC even by MC standards and there is little character progression and only superficial interactions between the cast.

Even after finishing this story, most characters are too foreign to me. They are either too idiotic to be predictable or too unpredictable to be real. Everyone's end-goal keeps changing along with their bottom-line.

We then cap it off with being on what's truly a fantasy universe with fantasy rules which can be made up or broken when plot convenient. Probability is the most ret*rded thing to exist in this novel.

Above all this novel doesn't know the concept of pacing at all, it's one emergency after another to the point the reader can't help but realize they're just there for shock and to delay any meaningful plot development.

TL:DR- Novel is bait, it's a disney like fantasy which a SAW like start and litRPG elements just to bait you in. It's awfully repetitive and boring. Characters have no interaction between them with a couple baits at potention romance which doesn't even sprout much less bloom.

My advise, don't read this novel, if you have aready been baited by it, after 150 chapters, read chapters 291-300, then read the last 40 chapters, there is nothing important in the middle it just meanders and goes downhill from there. <<less
