What a cute novel, I couldn’t help but rate it a perfect 5. It’s pretty calming, there were bits wherein sugar rush could make dear old me giddy. There was also a part wherein I teared up a bit, honestly it was probably because I’m quite sensitive with topics about parent-children relationships.

From reading multiple novels this month that brought my emotions through a roller coaster, I think this novel was a breath of fresh air for me to actually calm down. I kept this in my bookmarks for future reading... more>> and didn’t focus much as the synopsis did not catch my attention at all although I did see how great the ratings were.

I didn’t expect much starting this novel, I was only looking for something to pass my time and dear ol’ me was surprised on this gem of a novel. A slow paced romance, beautifully written, and not really that drama you’d usually expect or commonly see with this genre.

I wouldn’t say I’d highly recommend this, but it is still commendable and deserves praise. Now that it’s completed then it really is best to enjoy this novel binge-read. Play your favorite songs along with reading this novel.

it’s sooo adorable and cute. Our FL and ML are perfect for each other, watching how they behave with each other is really entertaining.

One of the best novels I've read. This is a light, worry free and very comical novel. One of the best, if not the best friends to lovers, I've read. Taciturn ML and Lively FL, there is family love, one or two conflicts but it's not a crazy thing.

Love the relationship and the timid ML, top 5. 20 out of 10. Recommended

yeah, he look fierce but has the softest heart. He has a sharp tongue but actually just a tsundere and a giant puppy.

But Although this is pleasing and relaxing to read but I must say you have to be in the perfect mood for some slow pace romance to be able to finish this. as someone who doesn't really like slow pace I almost lost my patience but the author managed to grab my attention back, she's really skillful

Just like everyone I also felt unsatisfied with ML parents but from my Asian perspective the author handle it quiet realistically. In reality there is nothing we can do as child but ignore them hoping one day they'll realize what they've done.

as for the translation / translator, people are just being mean and ungrateful because I've read worse but if you're not used to MTLs it's understandable. but best you can do is not hating on someone who did their best and spend their money for you so you can read them for free <<less

This is a slow burn romance, the story flow seamlessly, the leads characters compliment each other. This is a type of character, especially FL, that have affection from the author. She is blessed almost flawless environment, perfect family - even with divorced parents, perfect friends - even with 1 backstabbing friend in the beginning, perfect work, and love life.

The courtship from tsundere ML is adorable too. Usually tsundere character is shadowed with toxicity, but ML's character have none of that, especially when he treats FL as girlfriend and later, his... more>> wife, so well.

The ending not quite satisfactory, but maybe because the author already planned to close the story with extras. The last extra story is the perfect ending.

I felt bad for the male lead Yuan Yi and his brother Yuan Bo. Their parents really had the gall to control them. Thank God, cute Grandpa Xu was there. These pair of brothers are basically the kids of those ML and FL's from the cliché Chinese web novels where the male lead is jealous of his own son for taking away his wife's attention.

Even the antagonist Song Chao has my sympathy card.

There is barely any face-slapping dogblooded incidents. The dynamic between the leads was delightful. And finally, our President Yuan has a family of his own. The last extra just took the cake. It made me feel like an old mother finally seeing her son live happily ever after😭😭😭

This Slice of Life is the type of novel that I would've rated more than 5 ⭐ if only I could. Definitely worth it!

I loved everything about this novel, but I adored the complexity of it's characters even more. I was happy that the author sought to portray the Ml's parents as jerks who despite being madly in love with each other treat their children as add ons to their relationship. It felt very revolutionary reading a book about the neglect that a child can suffer under the hands of parents who love each other deeply. For me it showed that parents do not need to be dysfunctional to be neglectful. Better yet... more>> was the juxtaposition between the really terrible ML parents and the very loving FL parents. Despite them being divorced and her mother having passed, the love they showed their child made whatever the ML parents try to do pale in comparison. It left me thinking that sometimes, the presence of a parent, though ultimately ideal, does not negate any of the harm they can enforce on their child, whether intentionally or not.

I loved that the FL was given a job that touched on exposing society's good and bad, and that through it, they were able to channel meaningful change. The FL being a contradiction unto herself was also a delight; despite her frail appearance, she was actually a very assertive, outspoken person, who had guiding principles for how she lived and interacted with others.

Even our main antagonist, who in retrospect I should have been cheering on, what with his morally grey characterization, was given depth and substance. He was a downright entitled as*hole with very little in his heart to give, but he still fit well into this idyllic novel. This is not a novel where good prevails over all, and that was a bummer, cause I thought that several people needed their comeuppance, despite the unrealisticness involved

This was a very chill, slow paced book filled with hilarious sweet moments, that I'm sure I'll keep rereading. <<less

Alright, usually I don't like to give some comments regarding the plot. But, this. It's well written, imo. And the characters all relatable in society these days, I don't understand parents who wants children but can't be responsible for it, luckily the ML and FL do a good job solving that problem. Sigh, the parent and children situations really pissed me off, thank god it's a HE.

I'm not a big fan of tsunderes but ML is very sweet so it made him bearable. I found the story more interesting than I anticipated. Second ML is insane but pitiful, which was different to this sort of sweet slice of life story. I dunno. It kept my attention til the end which was nice

I had fun reading this novel. It would have been better though if the parents at least faced some retribution or realized their mistakes. It was just brushed under the rug even though they were an accessory to the ab*se of our ML.

A light-hearted story with aspects of romance, comedy and slight drama.

I especially like the bickering between the two main leads and how they fall in love with one another. The ML not knowing the emotion of love and realizing he's actually in love with the FL is so cute.

Highly recommend this as a quick light read.

My only gripe is that the summary for the novel does not relate to the story at all.

The main leads are adorable and I love them and all but one thing that really stuck to me is that the second ML could be a potential of a novel where a reader gets s**ked into this novel to save him. He's honestly really pitiful and if he had someone like FL in his life, he could've not been such a lonely and painful soul.

, straightforward and honest personality, kind and sincere heart, great friends, and of course, a fulfilling career. Unlike other female leads, she is more rational yet a bit reckless (since she does have a bit of strength) and is also really funny in a way lol. I also really like how she clearly distinguishes whether she likes someone or not and doesn't exhibit any sort of ambiguity towards the second ML.

ML (Yuan Yi) is really interesting as an ML. It's actually pretty rare to see a real tsundere ML in CN novels so it felt sort of refreshing (since most MLs have the same personality as the second ML). At first, you'd think of him as extremely rude with his poisonous mouth and rash personality (coupled with the descriptions of his appearance). You'd even wonder why he always helps FL every time even though he always says it's troublesome. Of course, as a seasoned novel reader, once he starts accompanying FL to meals, you'd then realize that he's just someone who has a hard mouth but a soft heart. He is very hesitant at first to admit his feeling and work on it since his parents made his heart doubtful about marriage

ML is literally just a soft, milk wolf that looks and sounds fierce but acts like a puppy.

Though no worries since as much as second ML did end up liking FL, he is rational and cold enough to suppress such feelings since I do think he realized that FL and ML who are both extremely pure and kind to the core are more suitable. Still, I can imagine someone trying to protect him when he was younger and receiving all the love and affection he couldn't give though. Definitely someone who would be able to love him wholeheartedly but it's not really necessary.

I really like the supporting characters. Aside from ML's parents (who I have mixed feelings for since they did feel a bit of regret (?)), the rest of the characters were lovable and supported both leads along the way (ah, forgot about 2nd ML's shitty family, damn, the second ML deserves better even though is a shady person).

It's a nice, warm read that reminds you that as much as humans do have their inner dark side, all the good things such as love, warmth, and kindness still predominate in us. <<less
