Lin Feng was a diligent and hard-working person. He studied hard, did his best to make his family proud, and not get into trouble, but when he saw a girl being taken advantage of, he had to intervene. This once great novel went down hill for me when I noticed there was no deeper plot but the author constantly throwing in random targets for the MC to be annoyed by then kill or cripple. Stories with only revenge as the plot are always terrible, yes ALWAYS, revenge should be only a side dish while the MC is trying to achieve something better. Ah I almost forgot its usually a battle of words and somehow during high-speed attacks, soo many conversations from crowd reactions and also the MC and... more>> his opponent insults occuring in that supposedly split second attack. Oh yh he likes walking step by step to his opponent and the opponent probably doesn’t even know how to run and justs waits there, its almost like the whole fights happen in slow mo.

Take ISSH for example, yes the great MC takes revenge (well planned btw and doesn’t try it on people stronger than him only to win somehow or get someone OP to do it for him) but we know that the plot is not there but is to be found in a fckn big universe beyond our comprehension awaiting us in the future.

Just know that when a MC gains most of his power from outside sources (his spirits absorbing powers for him) and doesn’t have a single natural skill he posses like good perception or a calculating mind but only goes around being a hypocrite even to his own righteous beliefs, he’s a FAILURE.

Sad thing it has a great TL, only reason I stuck around till now really. <<less

Is this novel any good?

To me, yes. This is a very entertaining novel despite its lack of plot twist.

The story can simply be summarized as, someone bragging to be strong, the MC appearing and wipping the floor with the other guy while teaching him/her (yes the MC beats girls as well. Gender Equality Achieved!) and showing off how superior he is while impressing both friends and foes a like. It's as if the author was someone bullied all his life and used this novel as a way of expressing his... more>> hatred or something. There are times where I find this disturbing.

People around the MC will feel their "heart throbing" and "mind exploding" from the shear awesomeness of the MC. Its actually very very typical. Take this plot structure and repeat it for all eternity.

But why is it good? Simple. I enjoy it. Though it doesn't rank as high as the biggest names in xianxia novels like ATG, CD, ISSTH, TDG and other top ranking novels, this will be one of the novels which you read after reading all your faves.

I give this "nice-to-see-daily-update" novel a 4. <<less

I am unable to comprehend as to why people give so bad rating for this novel.. seriously this is one of the best Novel I have read so far beside ATG, TDG, CD, and MGA...

MC’s are all badass fighters..

I also want to thank for the fast translation.. it is crazy..❤️

The longest reviews are to say that it’s really bad. Usually I don’t review for something that got reviewed a lot but I want to defend this Xianxia a bit.

First, very traditional xianxia with transportation/reincarnation... It’s a bit useless in that case since the reincarnated person doesn’t bring a lot of things but I get it, the “dead” MC is a piece of tr*sh who has a useless (not that useless actually) spirit, when someone takes over his body, it’s not a supreme expert but it gives him another spirit... more>> which is going to serve him for the most part of the novel. It’s a good set up, really usual, with the Clan story where he’s not recognised and the stakes keep getting higher and higher so stay tuned ^^.

Second, I like it because everybody except the MC is the bad guy. It’s also an argument to say that you dislike this novel but I like it for this reason, the MC is always treated unfairly but he’s also stubborn as hell so he ends up fighting and fighting and fighting but the progression of his cultivation and techniques are steady. I don’t really like novels who have too much inconsistency like a MC that uses new techniques everytime a fight happens (that’s why Death March gets on my nerve for example, he always has too much spells out of nowhere).

It’s a bit repetitive but you get a lot of content and the build ups are good. People don’t like it but they keep reading it, believe me, it’s because it doesn’t really have flat parts.

Third, the translation speed is great. It’s been 3 months, but already 240 chapters and a bunch in the weekends, always something that I look forward to ! So... Check this out ! <<less

the problem with this novel is that the author has no idea what it means to be a human. How is it that so many authors are convinced that shitty logic in the middle of intense combat/arguments will somehow be able to shame or prove anything. The obstinate will never bow to logic, and this author has only proved that he’s one of the most obstinate and stubbornly s*upid of them all.

of course, other than that and the “99% of rich and powerful are tr*sh, ” the idea of the... more>> story is fun & interesting.

3 because interesting story that could be 4~5, but good enough if you have a high tolerance for s*upid characters.

edit: actually, forget that. More of a 1/2 regardless of interesting concept.

why do we have no one who has any hesitation to kill, or that simple yet honorable bow with "thank senior for being lenient." why is it that this is only good guys v. Bad guys. And STOP WITH THE EXPLAINING. No one gives a damn that the villain is a contradictory piece of shit. Please, explain to me the obvious logic that the guy who killed all your friends is a bad dude. No really, I need that right now. what?!

really, our MC is just so f***ing s*upid. But that's just because the author has half a brain. <<less

It's not amazing, but it is entertaining. Pretty decent action, some nice twists, and likeable characters. One of my cons is some characters are given a lot of time, but then just drift off. 3* for story and 1* for the translation work.

I think it's sad, that this novel get such a bad rating. Yes, the novel does have some problems, in the start it is all about the main protagonist being the underdog, and being called tr*sh all the time. The problem might be that the word use is 'tr*sh' all the time, and yes, it gets annoying and frustrating because the MC is quite OP. A positive point of this novel is that the translator and editors are extremely efficient. The translator has spend some crazy hours translating this work... more>> at an amazing quality, and it is one of the best translation works i've seen.

Spend some time with this novel give it aleast 40-50 chapters. When the MC progresses, his peers will stop calling him 'tr*sh' atleast, though there are still problems with other underestimating him, but it is common in these xianxia novels.

I will give this novel 4, 5/5.

4 because of the novel itself. + 0.5 because of the translator and editors Amazing work. <<less

The story gets a big restart every 20 or so chapters with villains being roughly the same with the exception of belonging to different clans. Good thing is that we get to know many characters that are on the same side as MC and most of them are more than just a name and get some development. The arc that is currently getting translated is rally good at least in my opinion some things went different than expected. MC is ruthless and is starting to gather a harem (3/4 members... more>> for now).I have feeling that the plot will be quite intriguing in the future so if u feel like u’ve got nothing better to do why not check this one out <<less

This is serial has a good start now a days it turned in to a game where he offended me so that guy has to die instead he dies in the end. It kinda of boring to see the story built on the same concept.... but this series has very good dialogues.... this novel is worth reading for its magical words

Lin Feng's harem powers have grown considerably he is able to have his 2 girls meet in the same room and console them both well enough that they aren't even asking him who the other girl is =D

The start of the story was great and I was completely engrossed reading it and was a really expecting what was going to happen and how the MC can redeem himself but after the end of the arc it just got repetitive.

The story goes on and on with similar theme but different scenario.
    • MC gets bullied, MC kills bully etc etc.
    • Bully harasses MC's girl, MC kills bully etc etc.
    • Bully harasses MC's friend, MC kills bully etc etc.
    • Bully harasses MC's teacher, MC kills bully etc etc.
So on and so fort it just got repetitive and the story got stretched with the same theme. It felt like saying 'thank god it ended already' something like that. But I did really enjoy the earlier plot and I wish the author ended it there but no he continued on and on until it just got uninterested. Still going to give 5 stars though because I enjoyed the earlier plot, it was just that great for me.

I have read a lot of novels based on cultivation or martial arts and after reading peerless martial gods I must say this is one of the best series I have ever read. I liked the MC attitude which is kill those who he considers as enemies and how he cherish his friends and family. There were lots of character I liked, for example, Yan di, emperor wu tian. The story of this novel was wellthought and was represented beautifully. I recommend everyone to read this.

I read many wuxia xanxia novels and finished a lot of them.

First and foremost the ending of this novel is not rushed like others, it was a great ending I couldn't ask for more.

This novel might seem repetitive as Everytime the MC go to another place some arrogant rich family kid will provoke him and he would smack them.

It's a good novel he has a few children at the end and they became strong too, his friends became strong too as the novel progress so if you enjoy those stuff... more>> you will enjoy reading this novel.

The ending was very good and all the mysteries in the novel was answered unlike novels like ancient strengthening technique a novel which at the end there's still many unsolved mysteries and Hail the king novel which a few mysteries didn't get answered at the end, this novel PMG ending is 1 of the best I've read. I don't understand why many people rate this 1*, I mean I can't even read those novels with high ratings like release that witch it bores the hell out of me.

If you enjoy novels like against the gods, martial god asura, hail the king even novels with no harem like coiling dragon, desolate era, then you will enjoy this novel too like I do.

I really struggled reading this back then when the first dozen chapters came out years ago. Dropped it after getting sick of how 'slow' and looped-de-loop it became.

It got me interested until it became tiring to comprehend the plot. Seriously, the character does less comprehending how to get stronger through efforts and more for the reader to comprehend how the heck this all even worked out.

A typical xianxia novel that you can read after reading all the nicer novels out there. As the plot is generic, highly repetitive and words are often used repeatedly. Very suitable for killing time if you are not very particular about repetitive plots. My review only consists of my own opinion that helps you in deciding whether you will read this novel. It is not to debate on other peoples' opinion on the novel.

Let me elaborate on the points I mentioned above,

    1. The MC goes by a rule which if one decides to offend him, he will go all out to annihilate the offender. Which sometimes only involves mild provoking of the offender. The MC would just abandon his/her cultivation, sever their limbs, or kill them. The ending of the offender is always the same, dies. There are no anticipation of what is the ending for his enemy as throughout the novel it is so repetitive to the point that you know whats gonna happen for his enemy who had offended him.
    1. The same situation mentioned in point number 1 repeats TOO FREQUENTLY.

      So in every 2 to 3 chapters there will be fights involving the MC for the same provoking reasons. For example, cultivator A disregards the MC and insults him as a weakling (highly prevalent). MC will... more>> get triggered and decides to give cultivator A a humiliation by overpowering him/her in a fight and lastly end their lives. Next, stronger backups from their clan or organisation would come to attack the MC and he will just annihilate the clan. This is repeated throughout the novel I assure you. It is understandable if the cultivator gets killed because of insulting or endangering his loved ones, aka girlfriend/wives/parents but it gets totally mundane and boring if it happens to random people on the streets or in some meetings just because the offender does not know the capabilities of the MC.
    1. After those points mentioned above, the MC would level up and goes to a bigger field and restarts all those nonsense mentioned in point 1 and 2. Which the process would repeat all over again.
    1. I dont really like to criticise vocabulary but the author only knows how to incorporate the word "DIE" into fights between cultivators. It's 1000001% shown whenever there are fights.
    1. There are 2000+ chapters in this novel, if I can realise these issues at the start of the novel @ 500+ chapters, think about what lies throughout the 2000+ chapters. Thus, you should read this novel when you are extremely bored and dont want to fly a kite.
However, there are also some good mentionable points if you decided to embark on this novel,

    1. The romance is somewhat okay as it shows the process of the MC gradually making the cold tempered girl (meng qing) to fall in love with him. (IMO) The princess romance I think it somewhat forced upon, still manageable I guess.
    1. The cultivation style is generic yet straight forward to the audience. (You can understand easily unlike emperor's domination, i've no idea wtf they are talking about lmao xD)
    1. time killer I guess? If you have nothing else better to do, read this.
Lastly, if you choose this novel thinking that it may mindblow you, let me disappoint you because it is not. Dont expect too much from this novel. <<less

I had a great time reading this. Can agree with other negative comments in the part that many events look repetitive and story is very long. But for me it was not a problem since author managed to keep my interest and emotions burning on every spin of events. For the whole story I had no thought about dropping it. This alone is enough for me to give 5 star. Was very refreshing since it's different from other books I read recently. Style may be a little weird for western... more>> public, so I would say novel is not for everyone but if you like it this will keep you occupied for a very long time. <<less

Subjective and jumping the gun review

A really boring novel. It's not that bad if you just read first hundreds chapters but after that you'll notice it's just endless loop of doing the same things all over with different side characters. MC has the greatest plot armor ever and fate will always in his side.

If you ask me if I want to read something like this for 2500 chapters? No thanks. Piece of advice, there's also PMG 2.

Ah! too much violence.

The MC would often kill someone for rubbing him in the wrong way. what the hell? he justify it also... better have a peace of mind than reading it... The MC is like a WALKING DISASTER yet he transmigrate from modern time, no sophisticated ideas. better should had a different back drop.. it more like a hate story...
