I like Ruijin and Yuxing together. I agree that it is a little predictable seeing that Yuxing is the only ger or girl their age around them, but it was still nice to get the hint that Yuxing was interested in Ruijin first. That kinda changed their dynamic for me. I couldn't find the raw for Ruili's ship but I think the hunter x rich kid woild be interesting.

For example when they were hiring the beggars as farm-hands the jump from the JinYu twins being babies to like 4/5 year old toddlers was a little much

Scholar Fei got a concubine and everyone's reaction was to judge the concubine and call him a b*tch. I guess that is quite realistic, but it still rubbed me the wrong way. Especially when Zhang Fangyuan judged him too. Like in the beginning they sounded a little sympathetic to the concubine and saying that he was most likely not a prostitute and was instead seduced by Scholar Fei- most likely with false promises- and once he got pregnant he had no choice but to find him. But later on they kinda switched up. It rubbed me the wrong way because zfy was already established to be sympathetic to prostit**es and their plights and understood that many of them are just playing with the hands they were dealt with. Obviously I am aware that it's not that serious and more of a plot device to establish zfy as a family man who would never take a concubine so I didn't dwell on it to long

That being said I did think it was funny that Shaochun's son established himself as the head of the family and used his money to punish his father for what he did to his mother.
