I couldn't read any further than chapter 70. It felt like I was forcing myself to read at that point. Sure the NU score is high but it sucks so bad.

All of the characters in the story are complete a**holes who only wish for others to die. If you don't get on their good terms, they automatically want to kill you. What the heck, how does that logic even work? There are hardly any normal characters who genuinely want to help each other out or react properly to situations. Everyone... more>> is needlessly blood lusted (including the MC) which makes the story so unrealistic and irritating to read.

Also, the MC hardly takes a breather, he's constantly in action which is tiresome if you are trying to binge read the novel. I couldn't imagine reading 400+ chapters of non-stop action that is repetitive and boring to read.

Also, the Multiple POV isn't really good for this type of novel. All the characters only try to scheme and kill each other, so it's uninteresting to see the story from their point of view. First person POV would have elevated the novel a lot since redundancy would have decreased. If the characters actually had some humanity and depth, Multiple POV would have worked.

I'm giving this 2 stars because the story is somewhat interesting. But I just can't bring myself to read anymore due to the shitty characters who offer nothing to the story besides irritation. <<less

I can't speak about the writing but at least the translation is god-awful. It is not worth reading. Nothing special about this that would make it worth getting through all that jumbled "english". No emotional connection to anyone or anything, no pacing in the writing, omniscient narrator feels super boring and disconnected, the phrasing is awful. The plot is the classic MC is perfect, all-knowing, all-powerful, gets all the.. Maidens and of course has a tragic backstory and an undying determination to fight his journey to the end and save... more>> the world. I've read these cliches often and I can easily say this is not a well executed one. <<less

Honestly, don't bother unless you don't have anything better to do.

While beginning is really good - good plot, story building etc. It goes downhill later on. Author locked himself in a very bad writing style for novel - every new arc is basically blank state, with OP guys from previous arcs being whimps and basically everything they done before is meaningless.

Of course it doesn't apply to MC, which overpowers everyone who worked for their strenght for months/years within a week or two and have unique items which evolves with him... more>> getting stronger. Also everytime he have problem with something, given arc have perfect solution for given problem, taking off any sense of danger - it's like "of I'm lacking X, good thing this area have Y, which is perfect solution. I just need to do Z to unlock that".

Not to mention that, due to MC backstory, he already have solution to EVERYTHING upon arrival. Author tries to mess with it a bit, but it's just - "look MC isn't a God, he needs to struggle for one entire chapter!" kind of thing.

Author also have meaningless gigantomania - every enemy have to be tens/hundreds/thousands meters long/tall, but in most cases (only one arc does that well) everyone fights them like they are the same size. What's the point then?

It's not bad - maybe it'll get better later on, but at the point where I am right now it's straight up boring and repetetive. Making MC all-knowing, super OP guy is fun for a short while, but no for long novel <<less

Why you should read:

    • if you enjoyed reading 2nd coming of gluttony, you will enjoy this!!
    • Time travel and reincarnation.
    • Climbing tower theme and levelling up!
    • Action packed!
    • Each "level" of the tower is its own interesting world. Enjoyed the diversity and the "adversaries". Never a dull moment.
    • MC is smart, ruthless but not psychotic. He has his priorities and knows his mission is important. MC becomes OP.
    • Fully translated K-Novel, just under 500 chapters. Doesn't drag on and on! My god I hate reading 2k + chapters of plot repeats.
Why you may not like

    • No romance. There were decent chances/ opportunities but makes sense author didn't pursue it.

Its good.

However, the ending is a bit abrupt? Also, I really don't want him to be with someone, haha my selfish whim eh. But well, he lived full of difficulties and hardship for the sake of humanity so I guess, he needed a companion, though not really sure if that will really happened.

So far, I like it. So I give 5 stars❤️

The MC's personality was too dry that I lost my interest to read and not to mention that so many side characters made me unable to enjoy the story. It'd be better if the author keeps the MC close with Sungjin. Also, the way each arc write was a bit too draggy for me, which made it slow. I usually enjoy slow progress, but this one is not the one.

When I was wondering whether to continue reading or not, I read the spoiler and found out ... more>>

that the MC lost his memories later because the god decided to take it from him. Like seriously? I hate amnesia in stories and this one only made it worst.

Because of that I finally dropped this. <<less

Allow me to express my opinion regarding this. Never have I been this pissed off reading a novel, it lack actual plot, everytime something happened the author will cut it off and went for another part of the story apart from main scenario and left you with disgusting cliffhanger, seems like the author don't know about consistency of information, the worst part is everytime it return from sub scenario to main scenario, the action is really vague, it's not even enjoyable experience where you guess something like mystery novel, it... more>> just left lingering bitter taste, I suggest you to not read this because it's mentally exhausting. Thank you. <<less

I began reading this because it's a pretty well-regarded Reincarnation story that inspired others... and really came out disappointed. The first two arcs are pretty solid, but between the author's writing style, the way side characters are introduced suddenly and handled strangely and the very poor translation muddling the whole thing I ended up dropping it at the end of the Orange Zone. It's just flat out hard to read.

The MC himself is.. alright, I guess. He's a bit too dry and stoic, needed a bit more wit or personality.... more>> Can't really say much beyond that. <<less

The most disappointing to me as of now:

    1. incredible amounts of side-chars with their thoughts and dialogues that makes the story-flow be so slow.
    1. the need to be civil to the greedy thugs due to the MC's aim to save as many people as possible. Even though quite some change their views after MC beats them in some way and after that they become civil to the MC.
It's somewhat tedious as of now, even making me lose focus to continue listening to the story - too much unnecessary text.

Got bored halfway and just could not find the drive to finish the novel. The novel kinda reminds me of those 'infinity' novels because MC is practically in a different world per zone. The translation early on was not really good which made reading not a very enjoyable experience but other than that, the first half of the novel is pretty good. One prominent issue (which might be due to translation but I'm not sure) is the gender of some characters. Gender pronouns get mixed up here and there and... more>> to be honest, up until chapter 277, I'm not even sure whether Clementine is actually a male or female.

Another thing I don't like about the novel is that the current arc I'm at feels really draggy and a bit nonsensical in terms of 'levels'. Speaking of levels/power, I am not a big fan of the power system of the novel as the stats have little indication of one's battle prowess. <<less

I made this account just to write this review.

This is the best action web novel I have ever read!!!

I have read a few (About 50). There are some goods (Everyone Else is a Returnee, Warlock of the Magus World, Sun Knight, etc).

... more>> But, besides Overlord's light novel, this is the best action novel out there.

Here are 5 reasons:

1- Each character have a unique personality. Even the secondary characters!

2- The MC is very cunning and active. He moves the plot, and not the opposite. He is not just 'reacting' for the world events. The MC is creating world events, and adapting when another character do some unexpected move.

3- The story is reasonable! People acts in a reasoble way. Some readers can say thar the characters are 'emotionless', but is quite de opposite. Different characters has differents levels of greed, passion, sumpaphy, cowardice, bravery, etc. If you consider this, there will be no response that will make you think "This is not the type of thing this character wold do"

4- Its unpredictable. In most webnovels you can predict what will happen in the next 5 chapters. But reicarnator has plot twists. And the mos shocking thing: They are reasonable! The world has too many secrets, and the hints are hidden all over the story. Its not about 'seed a information here, so it will have a effect in 25 chapters'. Its more like 'seeds more than 6 hints about it, so it will have an effect in 25 chapters, then will have a bugger and unpredictable effect 60 chapters later!"

5- The most important thing: Its not repetitive! There is a 'gamification' grinding phase, and, before is becomes boring, it goes to another phase. So, comes the 'humans are cruel' phase. Than, goes to a thriller phase. It keeps changing! Its not about the (level-up -> overcome -> repeat) cycle. The MC is always rushing, running against the clock. Saving who he can, but looking foward. The MC has no time to repeat himself to grind!

Well, 5/5 <<less

I really liked this story till he got out if the tutorial and into the red zone, and more accurately, the first parts of the tutorial. It was just a constant repeat and every chapter is a prolonged fighting scene, it gets pretty boring quickly. It had a good start but after a point it felt like the author was trying to reach word count or was running out of ideas. Side characters also get thrown off which is a little annoying and emotion descriptions arent the best as it... more>> felt a little 2D. No side character development in this story. It is an all ME show. I tried rereading due to the manhwa that came out but it gets worse later on... other people say the first half of the novel was pretty good, which means the 2nd half must be really sh!t if the parts after the tutorial were already that bad.

This novel isnt for every1. If u want an op centered character with no focuses on side chars and constant fighting action, then u will enjoy the read. If not then I lokely wont and pnly enjoy the tutorial. It was tiring to read once the book became focused purely in him fighting/op instead of the developing/relations plot structure the book had at the start. Only thing I appreciate is the book does a really good job of breaking game filler as most books using stats go overboard ridiculous on the amount of words they use to make it fill word count. The descruptions of skills were about one paragraph and not dragged on like most game element stories so I also liked that aspect. <<less

It's a good novel. Though to read and the translation of Webnovel is way more subpar compared with translations like The Second Comming. The better part of the novel Hansoo is an enjoyable character, but the later half? The author kinda went: "Hey I don't know what I want my MC to be anymore, let's try jumble a few personalities into him"

But I liked the ending, he kinda made up quite a bit.

3/5 the history.

The translation is quite awful.

This is a pretty good one, very little in the way of filler and a mostly consistent storyline. The first half is very cohesive, but the middle is a bit of a slog, and there are a few inconsistencies towards the end.

Still, good, give it a shot.

Apocalypse! A cruel world where the strong rule and the weak are either cannon fodders, s*aves or livestock. It's good, a somewhat average deliver but has great concept with a calm headed, mature, ruthless and a dgaf type Protagonist. (Tho he's inferior compared to Ains of Overlord and Leylin of Wmw.)

This is good but.. This novel could be better! The author tends to skip both important and unimportant parts.. Like getting a certain item, the protagonist will suddenly pull out an item I don't even know where he... more>> get that but the author will just say "he get this artifact on the way 3 days ago" and some things of how the protagonist upgraded his artifacts, the Protagonist rarely check his status too and everytime he check that it's already on another realm. All his growing artifacts also got stronger but the author didn't show the process, the novel showed how he upgraded the armor artifact and ring artifact but I have no memory of him upgrading the others but it grows like magic. There's also scenarios where the Protagonist would look really badass but the author fail to deliver it properly, it didn't look lame but instead it just looked normal. The parts where it should be amazing and striking, toned down, because the author failed to unleash the potential of that scenario.

I know the author focused on the PLOT but author really skips a hell lot of things that should be enjoyable.

Checking status window and the like is also something I found enjoyable since I would be able to follow the Protagonist's growth but the author also didn't do that. It's something that Warlock of the Magus World and Solo Leveling has that I really like.

Many things like descriptions or whatever that doesn't make sense..

Spoiler

"Dakidus is a 4-meter wolfman with a 4-meter mouth." ?? Lol. Then after that "Another wolfman a head taller than Dakidus, and is a 5-meter wolfman!" Just a "head" taller but crossed the 5 meter height.?? Welp. Higher races addressed the Yellow Zone as "Earth" ? Yellow zone is an entirely different world. Earth is planet and not a name that classifies worlds.
[collapse]
As for the translation.. There's A LOT of grammatical errors and the TL often forgot to put "commas". This novel needs a serious cleaning and editing.

Well here's one example..

"From the words of Clementine which told them that if they didn't made the contract the or attacked the humans that she would use the Destruction Jade they had."

Almost every chapters chapters had these kinds of errors and confusing to read. Specially on describing the setting, I'm getting a hard time imagining what happening on a certain scene because it's incomplete, the sentences are shortened, just quite a few bits are removed but it's really obvious that a fragment is missing and creates a hole on imagination. This happens alot, not just on one or two scenarios.

-

Well I really did enjoy the Tutorial arc, it's the best part. After that it's still good and interesting around Red Zone and Orange Zone arcs but I didn't really enjoy the Yellow Zone arc because of the translation keeps confusing me.

My final score..

Plot: 4/5

Good start but became somewhat boring after 50 chaps. It's still interesting tho. Concept: 5/5

Great dimensions and interesting power system. Characters: 3.8/5

Lots of annoying characters, they're pretty much the same with just having different names. But characters are moving by logic so it's still okay. World Building: 4/5

Great universe but settings aren't detailed enough and the author tend to use weird metaphors to describe something. Translation: 2/5

Subpar translation is still manageable but fragmented sentences? Nope. Overall: 3.7/5 <<less

I enjoyed the first half of this series a lot. Interesting opponents with well thought out and desperate struggles. The skill and level up system was interesting and made internal sense.
Spoiler

Then it hit the transcendent ranks of power and it just broke down in story telling, skill usage and level system. You are suddenly following the chosen one that uses a different level up system. Which the author has full control of and uses to not power him up for years or power him up multiple stages in a day.

[collapse]

Translation quality was mostly good. The plethora of translators that took over after the move to webnovels did an acceptable job but often messed up gender pronouns or names of characters. They messed up in the stage where a translation is made into good English. The translation itself seemed to make sense though.

I do like how characters from early on keeps importance during the entire story though what little romance there is feels tacked on because it is required.

Just finished the last chapter there.

This is a great story. I will admit you need to use the wiki to get your head around some of the world building as the translation can be off from time to time which messes with your understanding of the world.

It's got it's ups and downs just like any story but where this story shines is that everything wraps up nicely by the end and makes you feel so satisfied. I mean that you can read other stories and they are great throughout but... more>> by the time the ending comes up, there were still plot points that were annoying you which weren't explained. This actually does that which is why I give 5 instead of the 4 I was originally planning on when I was at around chapter 450 or so.

The length is perfect, I think if it was any longer, I would have started to say it was dragging on but it ended right where it should. Read it all, you won't regret it by the time you finish. <<less

A really good story. It's my first time seeing a novel being capable to have common sense when someone goes back in time under time pressure. You can tell how pressured the Main Character is when trying to clear an objective given to him.

The Philosophy is great in this story. The Author was capable of judging how people would act when thrown into this world.

Not just that, the World building is unique and I really like it. The backstory is great even though the amount of characters popping out of... more>> nowhere will make one become confused.. But it wouldn't get in the way as new variables get introduced. The Author tries to give us a better view by showing us the bigger picture piece by piece.

A great story but I'll put it on hold because I got bored of it a bit. Highly recommended. <<less

There’s a lot of good review so I really tried to persevere, it took a of effort reading it through chapter 46 before dropping.

There’s too much unnecessary POV of unnecessary characters. I think it would be better to just give the general idea of what the other extras are thinking about the situation or about the MC.

After reaching chapter 40+ all I can say is that this story is too damn s*upid.

If anyone of the other 3 were to go back they would have an extra 20 years to prepare and strengthen the things from the get go, meanwhile here we have an MC who goes solo the whole time while constantly saying one mans strength ain't enough don't know if things change in the later chapters but things have gone too s*upid and boring for me to read any longer.
