Elena, who spent her entire life as a cold-blooded female knight to avenge her family, ended up dying without claiming her revenge. When she opened her eyes she found that she went back into the past. By day she was a lady in a dress, and at night she carried a sword to change history and prevent her family’s destruction.

“I want to marry you, Your Highness,” she said to the crown prince. She would do this to save her family.

This novel is good, but not amazing. The translations are completed, which is a plus for me. The MC is fine. She's good at everything and everyone always praises her. But it's fun to have her wielding weapons and protecting the ML. There are some sweet moments with her family that were nice: a cute little sister, a stoic dad, etc. The ML is in love from the beginning and the MC realizes it at a decent pace so there's not as much prolonged miscommunication or forced nonsense.

this novel once is actually not that bad, I enjoied a lot once it was finished. SOLID 4★

i mean I bing read it.

although there were parts of 3 or so chapters that made me take a break,

... more>> if I read it on regular releases I might have put the reading on hold indefenitelly. But im really glad I didn't.

the story is coherent, there are a clean reason for the MC to have come back to the past.

the interection between ML and MC are really nice too.

this is a refreshing reading if you are interested in personal development of the characters rather than a flowery adventures full of Plot armor... <<less

I finished, but I got bored (2.5). I loved the art though (+1 star)

It's not my usual cup of tea (revenge), but I thought MC was endearing (with her love of her family). It started off nice - MC was strong (both mind and body), goal oriented, strong familial bonds. ML was not offensive. That's honestly the best way to describe the journey I went on with these leads - unremarkable but inoffensive to my sensibilities. Is that a good or bad thing?

Seemingly a good matchup. But then... more>> I realized they were TOO perfect together. Didn't feel like they had much obstacles. After MC fell in love with him (let's ignore how ML had a strong affliction of insta-love that was never explained), story fell flat into the dirt. It was like reading a run-of-the-mill list of points of how we got the ride off into the sunset. Reminds me of a read where there is a princess and a starstruck dog panting after her. Cute but lacking any substance (little to no development with either leads, guy started starstruck in chapter 1, and girl just kept getting more and more OP). At least MC kept her family in mind the entire novel instead of forgetting about them the minute she fell in love.

Story was about revenge (I think? lol, sorta lost its momentum...), but writing wasn't geared towards antagonizing the ML and his kingdom as the big bad to sanctify and legitimize the MC. My pet peeve is when writers vilify something to legitimize the wrongness of something else (common in revenge p*rn), so this book was a refreshing spin on it. I liked how the ML had almost nothing to do with the target of MC's original revenge.

Story was vanilla - not much risktaking or angst. It's safe but boring (good for a filler read). MC was invincible despite looking like a supermodel. ML was there to be the starstruck cheerleader. The other characters were also unremarkable and sometimes annoying (the little sister).

All in all? It's a salad without sauce - I'll eat it b/c it's food and I'm bored, but don't expect a raving review. <<less

The story is:

  1. Unrealistic
  2. Bland
  3. Slow
No stars for the overall story and plot.

The stars are for the effort everyone pitched in to provide this (thank you to the tranlsators, proofreaders, editors).

(I meant to give 4 stars but I don't know how to edit that)

I really liked the leads in this story and despite them having a contract marriage, I find their take quite fresh because:

    1. They didn't add the "I won't fall for you" condition (which usually doesn't make sense in marriage situations so I don't get why leads force themselves not to fall in love
    1. ML is very expressive of his feelings towards FL although FL thought that he was just great at playing his role.... more>> (But seriously, I don't think we can blame FL much for being too 'dense' since FIRST of all, before she died in her first life, she didn't get to experience that kind of relationship with anyone and SECOND, she lived 20 years of her life in a literal hell before returning to the past so the fact that 'that' part of her brain had been ignored until ch185 should be okay.
I also love that our leads aren't weak, especially our FL and although some parts may be lacking like some of the dress illustration during earlier chapters, I believe that this novel doesn't deserve such low ratings, especially for those who didn't even finish reading it <<less

I can’t, she’s done nothing interesting by this point. From the 1st chapter, I thought there is mu*der and more action, but it was just said and then left to rot. There’s so much talking and there was none of the action I came for in the 1st chapter. I’m bored, so I’m leaving this novel to find something better.

I really liked this book! It's a good fantasy romance novel for those interested in that genre. The translation was really good as well, so thank you Translators!! Also, the pictures that come with the story were a huge bonus while reading this!

The pacing was well done in my opinion and every character had their moment to shine. The FL and ML fluff moments were the best!! This book has a strong FL, but she also has her own struggles that she has to work through, and with the help... more>> of ML she does. THE ENDING WAS AMAZING, we all love a good Happy Ending! :) <<less

I really enjoyed this novel. First of all, the female character is such a strong character and I just enjoy how she interacts with people and how she dealt with situations. The story is well written and the characters each have their depth and flaws and really enjoyed it. Also the translation quality was greattttt. Elena is such a boss and I love her haha

The chemistry between the FL and ML was really well done too.
Spoiler

Watching Elena go from being filled pure revenge and then finding further purpose in life than just getting back at Paveluc was really interesting to read. Also Carslisle's loyalty to Elena was also really sweet to read.

Highly recommend :)

Love it!

Many people have complained about the pacing of the novel, but I found it to be well-paced.

The main characters were very well developed, between them and with the side characters.

There were some details and side character growth that I would've liked the novel to put more attention to, but since the main, and really only, focus were the two main characters, you can't do much about that, unless the author makes some kind of spin-off.

It seems the reviews is having a war too; a war between 5 stars and 2 or 1 stars. It had some bad parts but it doesn't mean it is not good. I am at 290+ chapter and all I can say is that I am begging for more chapters. The writer and translator did a great job for sharing this story and I do think that they deserver good reviews.

I am giving this review because I think the end is nigh. The story is about a girl who went back after being killed by the Tyrant Emperor. In her second life, she hopes to save her family by tying hands with the crown prince who was killed early in the story. The MC is bad-as and level-headed. I really like strong and active girls. So props to that.

Once again, the translation is really good. I'm glad that I knew of this novel when it already had a lot of... more>> chapters. It was really a good read. Thank you <3 <<less

So currently I am hanging and I dont know if I will read it further...

The translations are great and the added illustrations as well but at least for me the story became gradually more boring and I believe thats because between social gatherings and a pampering crown prince whos obviously love actions are not seen by the dense Elena nothing really relevant happens in 80% of the chapters.

Still, I think it is great that the protagonist holds her ground against the prince and is telling him that her sword is... more>> part of who she is even though she also (as many other pampered wifes or wifes-to-be...) tends to hold herself back somehow. <<less

This is the first time I got hooked in reading a novel. Normally I would get bored in the middle of the story but this got me reading up to 70 chapters in a day. I love the heroine and the plot is really nice. Though some scenes were a bit cliche, I loved them. Maybe because I actually don't mind cliche stuff *>*

If you’re looking for a life changing story or expecting something super revolutionary obviously this isn’t the novel for you. Generally this was quite entertaining and you’re guaranteed to have a good time if you’re shoujo tr*sh like I am. The problem I usually have with these novels are usually the personality of the characters, generally the male lead. They tend to have super sadistic, manipulative and obsessive behaviours and they like to casually spout lines that gives off stalker or even r*pey vibes at times. So im glad to... more>> announce that this novel’s main lead is given a pass in my book! I love the way they set up the text and the illustrations are pretty so id say that overall this is an inoffensive and enjoyable novel. <<less

I stayed up so late reading this story, it's the most satisfied I've been reading this type of book for a long time. The pacing is great and the characters are well-fleshed out with their own motivations. As time goes on we see more and more as to why the male lead seems to be so smitten with the MC and I live for it. The MC doesn't suddenly lose all reason after meeting the ML which was sadly refreshing compared to other similar stories. Also the translations are really... more>> well done! Dialogue is supplemented by pictures of the characters like a visual novel game, and there is an illustration at the end of almost every chapter. I highly recommend it! <<less

im so looking forward for upcoming updates the story is sooo amazing and it has a dark sense of atmosphere (the ML and mc). The past have way more than the history itself. It's like the bridge reconnected because a certain event did not happen. They are sooo caring to each other and the storry makes you breatheless. Yaaaa ( ̄3 ̄)

(Edit: As you can see, my initial impression was very good, but I ended up dropping it when it devolved into a Cinderella story and the 'warrior' part was traded in for a tone of 'she's a real woman after all.' I may check back later to see if that was just one arc or it really turned into a 'Prince pampers his Princess' story.' Too much cat fights at parties, not enough warrior. If I could take away a star or two, I would.)

This is a really... more>> great story. The female lead is strong and competent, not a child, and most thrillingly, doesn't take a massive downgrade in ability when the ML shows up. And he respects her! Amazing, right? I'm loving this. <<less

Yow! Really, this novel hypes me up every single chapter. Good thing the author did not drag the story any further. Direct to the point. Elena, the FL, is intelligent, strong-willed not just a pretty face, and definitely a combatant herself. AND Caril... my goodness, Caril made my standards so high like for real. He kept on trying to win Elena's love. For those who got bored in the early chapters, guys you're missing the fun. The action and the fluff scenes are worth the wait 🥹💪

welp. I don't really... more>> get why some reviews here are so downgrading LOL

Spoiler

Elena is Caril's rest.

Their love for each other is so genuine that I even want to experience it...

They are not afraid to show their love for each other. How selfless and brave they are though.

A few years ago, I remembered reading this and literally read it almost everyday, but things got me busy and so I haven't been on novel updates for a really long time. But I do read manwhas and mangas online! And when I saw that the novel finally had a manwha, I was so excited!! The art of the manwha wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as the art from the novel. I finished reading the manwha and so I wanted to check out the novel version. When I... more>> first read the novel there was a picture of each character to show who is talking plus there was scenes in some chapters that were drawn by the illustrator, but now it isn't anywhere to be seen : ( ( (Maybe the old translator stopped so there was a new one? I am not sure but I am alittle heartbroken to see that it isn't there anymore.

Overall though, it was a fun read! I enoyed reading both the novel and the manwha. <<less

I've read many stories here in NovelUpdates but this is my first time writing a review. I've liked many stories, some not so liked, not so easy to read, and some I went through like a breeze. But this story is very good and I love the ending the most. I recommend it!
