The plot is very typical and nothing new. There's lots of face slapping if that's what you are in for. I actually like the age gap of more than 18 years, lol, between MC and ML. There's also enough smut for a CHN novel. I think the MC and ML relationship is quite cute.

That being said, I minus one star because there is no difference if this story the MC were to be a female instead of a male (BL). Actually, in a lot of time I keep thinking the... more>> MC is a woman, lol. The MC can give birth, just not have menstrual cycle like woman do. When I see Mpreg, I often wish the author would not make the MC like a woman, unless it's omegaverse. Because, otherwise, the MC would be no different from being a woman.

This is your typical teens fantasy novel with little braincells so don't expect much. The author's original writing (not the translator) is also quite immature. The part about the world they live in being a novel is totally useless to the plot so just scrapped that out. I'm not sure why the author even bother to add that in because this could just be a normal rebirth story. <<less

I stopped reading it at 50 ish chapter because author was getting out of hand praising the MC. The MC is unreasonable overpowered, and always gets glorified to the extreme. There is no details or info about fragrances, tests, the competitions, and etc. At least not as much as what I was expecting. It’s just paragraphs praising the MC, and face slapping the other almost one dimensional characters.

So in last life the ex cheated, and to prevent MC from exposing them, he poisoned and threw him off a cliff. But in next life, it’s clearly stated that although ex likes to save face, but is not ashamed of the fact that he cheated, and it’s normal in the circle, and whatnot he was fine with everybody knowing. And his reaction at being publicly set up in next life wasn’t that big. I just find the mu*der part a bit abrupt.

And ML is unreasonable as well. So the ex is not ML biological son. And only the mother, MC, and ML knows this fact. So, he and ML treat the s*um ex like a shit, and ex is being used by everyone, grandpa, family, lover, like everyone. And he is upset by that reasonably, like he sees the ML as his father and expects his support, but the ML does not expose the fact that he isn’t the biological father nor that he doesn’t want to be part of his life.

Even if he was a scum, I still found this a bad quality story, I was excited about the perfume part, thought there would be detail and interesting facts, but no it was mainly focused on the main story.

A typical dog-blood [Drama-filled] novel. I do think the couple are very sweet and we get a lot of dog-food [Affection between couples] whenever they interact. I just feel that the basis of their love is too shallow. There was not really a feeling of truly falling in love. While there also wasn't a love at first sight either it was at most love at first week, and the doting you see when the powerful ML loves the MC started almost instantly (again very common in novels).

An age difference that... more>> large is also a unique premise of a novel, but I didn't really feel that ~20 years age difference at all and it just feels like any other 27 y/o ML Genius CEO with 20 y/o Super Talented MC. This is not bad, just nothing new, so no worries if you are nervous about the difference. It also didn't really make more impact to the plot either beyond maybe a few sentences about a side plot.

Meng Yang's career choice was quite interesting and different from the entertainment/actor/model route or the secret computer programmer/game designer or socialite/secrete ceo that you see in other modern novels. It's easy to see that the author doesn't have any deep knowledge of the industry that Meng Yang is a part of, but that's to be expected because the author is an author and not a part of that industry. This story is also fictional and some aggrandising is to be expected in order to make the reader feel good about how talented Meng Yang is alongside him. As this reviewer is also not a part of that industry I really can't say anything about the accuracy and because it is a large part of the story those of the industry should enter under the assumption there will probably be inaccuracies. It is refreshing that not all people that he encounters and "beats" in the process of progressing his career became live long enemies because their pride was hurt.

There were of course quite a few plot holes, but they don't really detract from the story as they were made to stir up a little more dog-blood and of course to show off how much better and talented Meng Yang is compared to everyone. Which is again typical for the genre. *Shrug*

Overall this is an interesting read. It's nothing ground breaking, but for a short read it was enjoyable and it's a good recommendation for introductory dog-blood because besides the references to the past life it isn't anything too vicious. I also say the revenge was very measured and nothing like cruel retaliation for past grievances. The revenge happens due to things that happen in the current life, and the past life was to develop skills and have some insight in people that may appear good, but are secretly white-eyed wolves [Betrayers/Un-grateful people] <<less

Ahhh I love this so much!!!

It's super fluffy and cute :) Yes there are a bunch of plot holes and the aromatherapy sometimes gets out of hand but 1) it's fictional (the author and translators tell you multiple times this is a fictional world) and 2) we're all here for the romance anyway (✧≖ ͜ʖ≖)

Note that there is a significant age gap which I know is not for some but if you're looking for a wholesome, cute, rebirth, romance, this novel is for you!!

first of all, why can't one of the kids be a girl?! All the female characters in this novel were horrible, I thought at least they would have a little princess. The part that really pissed me off though, is the author implying the ML having his kids go for some random secretive training and the MC doesn't care.... ok fine but us readers care ok!

This story is amazing and a little bit different from other novel, where you usually see the MC revenge toward the other MC in the novel.

But in this novel, he get the revenge by married the Father of the ML which is pretty interesting.

The other concept and plot is the same, but it's good to read and the baby is cute.

I feel like I've read to the conclusion of the main plot points, so while I haven't technically completed this work, I think it's safe to objectively review it now.

Honestly, this whole things reads like a juvenile, tr*shy wattpad fanfic. But sometimes you're simply in the mood for something dumb that doesn't require a whole lot of thinking, and if that's the case for you, this should be an easy read.

This whole thing is fantastical. From miracle-performing aromatherapy, surviving head-on collisions and unexplainable car racing prowess, and a knight in... more>> shining submarine. This whole fic builds up our MC, Meng Yang, waaaaaay too high on a pedestal. The ML is... he's like when you make soup and it tastes good, but you know you're missing something, maybe acid like lemon or more earthy body like beef bouillon or fish sauce. He's simply incomplete as a character and more often feels like a phenomenon to progress the story--a deus ex machina rather than a person of real character.

The villains are flimsy and the general public that the author uses to substantiate their influence and power is ridiculously dumbed down to make the MC seem amazing in his average intellect and character.

Still, it was fun to read this nonsensical novel just to rubberneck. <<less

The writing is very immature but if you just want something to read without thinking too deeply it's ok. I only got put off the story in an ick way by the events around chapter 72 I think. I'm grossed out by dad-husbands in age gap relationships if I read them at all. He 1-pats the baby too hard in his anger and 2-spanks MC like a child, and MC is afraid but then they sleep together and all is brushed under the rug. The inequality in the relationship is... more>> just rubbed in the reader's face.

The way it was so close to the happy ending and was then weird was disappointing and I skimmed the rest of the story.

I also kept track and noticed that there were a total of 2 women in the story that weren't evil shrews--an unnamed female classmate and the housekeeper Aunt Huang. Pretty typical of cn bl. <<less

I know I haven't read a lot. But I simply can't make myself read more. It's a bad book. It's badly written. The style is.... Immature? There really isn't any style tbh. It's like a 15 year old tried writing their first fanfiction. Absolutely good for you and I don't disparage your effort but then it's a beginner story, something you're making fun of years later. Not a book for recommendations.

Firstly, the settings get messed up as well, and again usually I don't care but there are so many mistakes.... more>> It's just top ofs my irritation.

Secondly, there are multiple plot holes. Multiple. And I don't usually care because I read BL to feel good not to find the next masterpiece. But here.... Things are written just to be written. The author thought about it, liked it and then just wrote it. Natural consequences, what is that? The MC is supposed to have spent 15 years in a cave... blind deaf and mute. Okay. Weirder things have happened. But then, he survived how? He was waiting for the ML and again why? If he could survive blind, deaf and mute he could have gotten out of the cave? I wouldn't care but it's brought again and again so many times it started bugging me. Then the rebirth and suddenly he is smarter, no explanation. He got amazing skills, lazy explanations for all of them. Yeah he practiced real hard in last life. Cool dude. Random but cool.

It's just... It is supposed to be a feel good novel but it is so lazy with the plot that you get bored real fast. There isn't much tension (what tension?!) because he just got everything he needs. It not that he plans ahead and we are amazed at his witt or cunning. No. Things are just comfortably set up for the MC. The only thing I was amazed at was that there are 80 chapters of it.... I've read bad books. But this book is again LAZY, BLAND AND BORING. I can't even say it's bad because it's just mainly MEH.

And the MC is just ugh. He's bad guys. He's the cannon fodder in all those other novels. He's the villain. He's petty, obnoxious and not cute. It seems like he is supposed to be hard working but I can't feel it. He solves EVERYTHING by using ML as his husband. I get that he was wronged in his last life but then do the revenge. Plan a masterful downfall. Don't play with tea ceremonies like a third rate villain. Let me explain it this way. If he was my friend... I'd be embarrassed and disgusted to be around him. I don't like the actual villains but damn do I also not like the MC. Ugh.

I seriously love this novel. Although there are some chapters/paragraphs which concentrate heavily on aromatherapie (which is something I don't really understand, therefore for me this part is quite boring) the plot around that is amazing.

We have our MC, Meng Yang who was reborn and suffered from the trauma of his past life almost until the end of the novel. Although it is not that obvious for the people around him (well for us readers it can't be any more obvious though). He's a 19 years old student who is... more>> very gifted in blending fragrances and aromatherapie.

Luo Sheng is the scum-gong in this novel and the legitimate heir of the Luo family. Meaning he's an arrogant rich 2nd generation, wanting to inherit the Luo family with the support of his mother's natal family. He got together with MC but was later seduced away by his "true love", the white lotus shou of this novel.

Yu Junchen is MC's stepbrother, a typical white lotus who seduced his own brother's boyfriend. He is also studying aromatherapie and surprisingly has some talent in it on his own, but still relying on MC's inheritance and family. I think he's around the same age as MC and is the son of MC's father's second wife.

Our ML is... Luo Xiu, Luo Sheng's father. He is almost 40 years old, quite a bit older than MC who is only 19, so for those who dislike this large age gap, please be prepared ;) He is mature and steady, smart and reliable and a very wonderful husband. He's just plain adorable! I kinda want to kidnap him for myself.... *cough* He's the patriarch of the Luo family who singlehandedly holds up the Luo Group and the rest of the family while having to fight off those who want to swallow his family and company. He's suffering from insomnia and headaches due to overworking and a previous car accident.

I'll try my best to avoid spoilering too much of the story, so what I can tell you about the story is as follows:

As said before, MC had a boyfriend who is Luo Sheng. MC's stepbrother seduced his boyfriend and after some years MC found out about the two having an affair. Because Luo Sheng as the heir of the Luo family was too strong of an opponent, MC had to flee for his life and met ML who was crippled because of a car accident. They fell in love but got separated because of the s*um gong. MC was poisoned and spent 15 years alone in a secluded valley while being blind, mute and deaf and developed a highly sensitive sense of smell. Then he got reborn.

He still had his golden finger of highly sensitive smell and knowledge of his past life. So he started his revenge by breaking up with the s*um gong and separating from his blood-sucking relatives. He saved ML from the car accident and they got married. (Contract marriage initiated by MC with a duration of 3 years). The rest of the novel is MC becoming famous in the aromatherapie circle, getting together with ML, having children, tons of face slapping for all kinds of people and MC curing himself from his trauma of the past life.

There is no drama, no dog blood or anything. Just a fluffy story of two people falling in love. It's a very healing story and I'm very much happy and thankful for the two translators, the one to start translating and the one who finished the novel! Thank you both so much for your hard work. Both of your translations are awesome and very easy to read.

On a sidenote: I personally don't understand who added the adultery tag to this novel, or why that person did so. Neither MC nor ML cheated, if this was added because of Luo Sheng, it's even more confusing, because although in the previous life he indeed cheated on MC for a long time, but in this life MC broke away within the first few chapters. Moreover, MC and the s*um have never been married (at least I don't recall them having married in the past life), which makes me wonder how this tag showed up here. So from my point of view, ignore that tag. <<less

It has so many plot holes its not even funny. The MC also really got on my nerves bc he felt veryy mary-sue-ish.

The ML and MC fall in mutual love after like a month or two and the formal way the MC addresses the ML is super f*cking weird (espcially when the MC calls him 'uncle', a shiver goes down my snipe omll).

I'm not wasting my time on this and neither should you.

Worth the read. The MC and ML deserved a great life after everything that happened in their previous life. The MC and the ML really were victims in their last life, everything that happened to him and the ML was awful😞

The synopsis is interesting. Unfortunately, the story is easy to predict. Like the story of Danmei Ceo, who met him for the first time and immediately liked + modern revenge after repeating reincarnation.

The MC from beginning to end thinks about revenge. ML is also so jealous. The writing style is like a beginner's wattpad story, like a dream type to just be a CEO partner.

I have watched better Taiwanese/Thailand/Korean dogblood telenovela daily drama than this shitty tr*shy novel. I have tried and failed to appreciate any of this author's novels as they are too tr*shy. But this novel is the worst of them. You can change the gender of Meng Yang to female, it will read exactly the same as he does not behave like a man at all. Actually this applies to the author's other novels too.

Instead of wasting your time reading this, why not choose a tr*shy vengeance Korean drama. I recommend... more>> the classic Temptation of the Wife. Or you prefer double the dog blood, The Promise. For Thailand, Sea of Greed 2019 can make your blood pressure rise from how dogblood the plot and filming is. I puke blood watching it and still prefer it over this novel. <<less

I’m 25 chapters in and the revenge has already gotten kind of tedious to read about. It’s basically just MC being better than his enemies at the most random things. Like, he’s just a world class street racer and one in a million aromatherapist? (Not to mention the hundreds of other things he’s inexplicably good at.) The romance is shoved in the backseat just so we can read more chapters about MC beating his ex at street racing, which is a shame because the romance is the best part of... more>> this story. I like that MC falls in love first and does his best to protect ML, and in the beginning when they actually talked, and you could feel MC’s hope and love for ML, it was really cute. Unfortunately, instead of getting to see their budding romance, their pasts, changing their fates etc., we get to see bafflingly illogical aromatherapy sequences.

Also, MC has good reason to hate his ex, but ML doesn’t. The ex hasn’t done anything to ML, and he’s the ML’s SON. ML totally abandoned this kid, beats him, and is just generally abusive. It feels like the author took every single trope from a BG revenge fantasy webnovel and forgot that this trope (ML hates MC’s enemies even though he has no reason to) does not fit in this situation at all.

Generally, this webnovel reads like a stallion novel with the genders switched. Author wrote in the author’s notes that MC is not a Holy Mother character, but I would describe MC as more of a green tea, fake white lotus character. It’s amazing how the MC can have such a sympathetic backstory and still be so hard to root for. <<less

Cliche revenge plot. It's so obvious that MC would win with every arguments with the chars he hated. There's no shocking element, no unpredictable outcome. Just a lazy plot by the author.

  1. Though, am here for the fluff, but even the fluff is minimal than the cliche every-other-family-members-are-greedy-bloodsucking-bastard. MC won't stop scheming it's getting annoying. Can't author create a 3D characters and make the story colourful?
Got boring fast. It's a C-rated reincarnate novel.

Honestly I am loving this novel. The MC is definitely OP, both in his skills and his cunning. The face slapping is all one-sided, but the few sweet moments we've gotten so far between MC and ML are just adorable. I love MC and his clever brain, I love seeing ML warming up to him. I love the face-slapping.

I feel like the story would have been different if the MC had married ML purely for revenge purposes and then love came later, but...

When you find out that he married the ML because he is genuinely and madly in love with him, it makes the whole story so much sweeter. MC fell in love with ML in his past life when ML helped him, and he loved him deeply despite the ML being a paraplegic and disfigured. Although MC is highly motivated by revenge, his first and foremost priority is saving the ML from the accident that disabled him in his previous life, and then supporting him, making sure he stays healthy, and slowly trying to get ML to fall in love with him, all while face-slapping ML's scheming, greedy son (MC's ex-bf).

I love this rebirth story a whole LOT. Meng Yang changed his fate and made sure he will not be wronged again. He specialized in aromatherapy and helped people.

Second time I drop a novel in five or so chapters in.

That’s just... too ridiculous for me. I get OP MCs, I get simple uncomplicated stories, I really do. The following are not the spoilers, really, as I said, I didn’t get past fifth chapter.

Can someone explain how in the world am I to suspend my disbelief? The MC (a fragile city boy) was poisoned, went blind and deaf, was thrown off a cliff, miraculously survived the fall — nothing too outrageous so far... AND THEN SURVIVED FOR FIFTEEN YEARS... more>> under the very same cliff? Being a a cripple from the fall? Also blind and deaf? In the damn mountains? One year was already unrealistic, but fifteen? What? Fifteen years, what? What?

I, actually, don’t care what kind of godly intervention author will employ to explain it, if they deign to do it at all, but I’m done. There are novels that give the same simple face-slapping+romance stories, that are also brain-preserving. <<less
