This is one the saddest background an author could write for MC. It makes me depressed even remembering it, and tbh I dont want to read those part again.

The rest of the story went the same as the rest of the same theme novel.

Suuuper gooodd.. This story is super good. Even if I only read until ch 9. But I think this story will be good till the end. Im not really good with english. And this is my firts time writing review so I can't say too much. But you can trush me. This story is super good. Love it ?

Characters are meh. Also, despite MC saying he wants to focus more on people he cares about than revenge, the focus of the plot is really more on revenge and aromatherapy. The romance parts are sandwiched between the face-slapping and helping friends only happen a few times so far. I guess I was disappointed by the lack of romance. You would think that it was slow because ML and MC got together around ch30-ish, when actually the two didn't have a lot of development. ML fell in love pretty quickly and it only took this long since there was a lot of face-slapping nonsense and ML was absent a lot.

Gotta admit that reading aromatherapy is a magical cure in the story (curing sickness/ waking up coma patients) is just no (especially reading during this time). At least the author admitted in the notes it wasn't real, just fiction.

I've read a novel like this where he also married the father as revenge and fell in love chuchuchu.

Gave it 5 stars because it entertained me sk much throughout the story even though the ending made me a bit disappointed because I was expecting more from it. Nevertheless, this is a very fluffy and cute novel, read it for 5 hours straight and I dont regret wasting my time reading this.

I highly recommend this to everyone who likes a fluffly and simple bl.

Hm, I won't rate because I'm only a third of the way through, but I'm dropping it.

It's reasonably readable and if you just like a predictable story where every "relative" so is greedy s*um and the main plot points are repeatedly the MC excelling at things or the s*um ex-boyfriend and stepbrother getting face slapped then this is a fine story. But I reeeeallly don't care about these "villains" after he initially exposes them then kicks them to the curb. Not interesting, go away. I don't need paragraphs, pages, chapters... more>> and more chapters about them.

Similarly, I get that this is a story where all the things he wants to do he's already excellent at because of his past timeline's experience, but that makes every arc and mini-arc about his achievements immensely boring to me. Yes, he has and does work hard, but we don't see him struggle and gradually improve, we see him (for instance) study a few ancient books and then come out in first place. Personally, what I enjoy is seeing the process of learning and developing a thing. I'm not interested in long sections introducing random bigwigs to either doubt him and be face-slapped or to be impressed and gush over him.

Then there's the main romance. I really do like that the MC is already in love, because that's a more satisfying motivationfor me than when the MC starts out marrying just for revenge. It's a pity that so many of his actions on first getting married are to use his new status against the ex-boyfriend. But the ML's falling in love... it's not immediate, but somehow it still feels perfunctory and fast? We see that the MC obviously cares about his health and invests time and energy, but...I don't really see... as many moments of genuine emotional connection between the two as I'd like to. Moments where there are small things that just make me feel that they're really delighting in each other's personalities. Not as much as I'd like, and not enough to have made me reeeeeally feel the process of the ML falling in love.

It's... fine. It's not that we don't see them doing things together or doing caring things for the other. It's just a bit unsatisfying and empty to me.

Oh, I did forget to say that I like how there ARE some good and loyal friends in the story.

I almost like the way aspects of the two main antagonists (ex-boyfriend and stepbrother) almost feel sympathetic - we can see how the ex-boyfriend gets no love from the ML who is supposed to be his dad and how he has been somewhat brainwashed by his maternal grandfather into thinking constantly of his father's wealth and not considering how his family's attitude harms his father. We can see how the stepbrother has always been in an inferior position and is genuinely striving to fit in and wants to have the acceptance and confidence among the privileged that the MC has. It's just that I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do with these details, because ultimately they're both people who'll harm the MC even if they're given kindness, and so we're supposed to revel in his revenge on them.

And so, since it seems like the main plot will continue to be a repeat of what has come before, just bigger, I think I'll end my reading of it here. <<less

This was a light-hearted novel with some face-slapping mixed in. There is nothing complicated about the plot or the characters.

It is an easily digested novel, so if you’re looking for something with more plot, angst, complication, and villainess antagonists, then this is not the novel for you.

Ahhhh.... I don’t know what to even say?

I really wanted to love this novel, but I think... it’s just okay? I like it but definitely not enough to continue?

I haven’t read a book and stopped this close to the ending before... I’m on chapter 63 and the book ends in chapter 88 but I don’t know, I just don’t feel like continuing it?

I love BL novels and I love mpreg novels... but what I care the most about is the feeling of love that develops between the ML and MC.... more>> This one just felt... odd? Like even a “fall in love at first sight” kinda love is okay but in this one, it’s kinda off the way it explained how the ML fell for the MC?

But I still really love Meng Yang and Luo Xiu and how our ML dotes on the MC. The pregnancy was also cute but idk, I just don’t feel connected to the novel?

I think it failed to pull me in? I don’t know how else to think of it. But like another commenter said, if you stop reading around chapter 60-62, it actually tells you most of the plot lines ending like it tells you how the people who screwed with the ML and MC end up suffering, how the MC safely gives birth to their son, etc.

I’m sure more things happen in the next 20 chapters but I don’t feel as into it and won’t finish it for now. I’m leaving this comment here so then when I do come back, maybe I can pick up from chapter 63.

I usually end my reviews wishing the reader a love pertaining to what I read in this novel... though this time I’m not sure aha

I wish you a doting partner like our ML dotes on our MC? Idk hahahahaa <<less

I really liked this novel but like 2/3 of the way through I felt like the novel should have ended. All the loose ends were tied at and the MC and the ML should have metaphorically ridden off into the sunset together, but instead

First time I'm completely nope-ing out of finishing a story.

Usually, if it's boring/uninteresting, I just drag it out and finish over a long period of time, but this one...

It's cute. And brainless. A bit too brainless, imho. The story itself is not very special, quite a slice of life. The main point of difference is the big age gap and the misleading title. He is not that old as title implies, so don’t worry. But yes, there is an age difference.

The story is a bit of revenge, face slapping while having main focus on MC trying to have a good life with ML. Also, some career episodes, but some things are not realistic, so don’t take it too much to heart.

The relationship. They are definitely quite nice.... more>> It changes between lovers and child/elder from time to time, but it’s not bad. They speak, support and understand each other. Not toxic, no misunderstandings to drive to plot, no dog blood drama. Fluff mostly. Also, a child care. BE AWARE of mpreg tag. It’s not ABO, just an mpreg.

This story is mostly a one time read for me, but it’s a relaxing and cute read. I’ve enjoyed it and it put my heart at ease after more dramatic novels. Recommend to give it a go. <<less

Pretty decent read. Nice healthy relationship between the couple, understood why the MC didn't speak of the past it sounded pretty brutal. Loved the face slaps and found the revenge to be karmic justice. The translation was easy to read with minimal confusion which I appreciated the translation notes as I'm English and didn't get references at times.

My favorite BL Novel so far. I've reread this novel so many times and I usually don't reread novels!

Love it. Not much angst n drama. Although the aromatherapy is super powered up, it's good to consider as a holistic therapy. After all, we have main 5 senses and smell is one of them.

Mostly sugar between MC n ML.

It's nice sometimes to see people receive their karma. But too bad rebirth usually happen in novels

It's not perfect but a good entertaining story. Author already made it clear on the author's note the trajectory of the story and how gary stu MC is cuz she/he meant it to be a happy happy and easy to ready story. As you can see on the progress of the story that author never tortured MC aside from the tragic past and also gave us a good face slapping. It is also not a plot center story so don't expect too much. Although I also found some plotholes that... more>> maybe the author forgoten, its still manageable.

Those people too that Meng Yang is being too much about his revenge, you are all naive. He's already being nice enough to not actively take his revenge on them, in actuality it is the villains who keep messing around jumping like clowns aroud MC so have to retaliate to appease his anger and it is also this villains that do it to themselves that's why they are suffering. Honestly if you were in Meng Yang's shoe you will also never forget all the tortures he suffered from those people in his past life.

Cheng Sheng is yeah quite pitiful because he have a terrible mother that used her own to take revenge on her father. Plus those Cheng family who nurtured him into that of a scum. Luo Xia is already kind enough to let him jump around and not maltreating him aside from being cold. Duh it's not his son, what do you expect? But his pitiful family shits will never be a good excuse for the shits he had done, he never repented nor regret any sins he have done. His head is always full of evil thoughts and inheritance.

So I recommend this story if you are up to a chill and easy to read story with satisfying face slapping plus OP MC. Don't invest too much on the plot and just focus on the fluff plus their cute little dumpling.

Btw for some reason I can't read the translation from the second translator so I have to rely on MTL. <<less

Why settle for less, when you can marry for more? 😂 A story of revenge and finally achieving a happy ending.

I love this novel and I regret not reading it sooner! This is a story of the MC breezing to success in this 2nd life, as opposed to his 1st life that's full of pain. Although this somehow made the MC feel like a Gary Stu, I feel as if it was a deserved change and attitude since the MC did suffer. I think his suffering in the 1st life... more>> was already enough as it is.

Although I love this novel, it's not perfect. There are some points in the plot that feels as if it was an "instant happening" (as in something suddenly happened out of nowhere), while some of it feels as if the details are too fleshed-out/overexplained. There are also some points where the author introduces a character out of nowhere and then just slams them out (this is especially seen in the last chapters).

The flaws aren't really that bothersome, especially when you're reading for the romance and the counterattacks.

What I had a problem with is accessing the translator's website, to which is probably because of server problems (which was soon solved by promptly refreshing and a few random clicks). The work is still incompletely translated so I used MTL for the remaining chapters (and I do not recommend the MTL because there's a lot of translation lost -- as in crucial info that is lost. I dunno if it's because the author used deep words or something).

Overall, I want to rate this novel a 4.5/5. <<less

Cute and simple novel. The main couple is adorable and honestly, it's nice to see MengYang (MC) being doted on by LuoXiu (ML) because his past was honestly quite tragic.

it's pretty similar to "Rebirth of a Cannon Fodder from a Novel" but not at that level story wise...

I actually read this a while ago but didnt know how to review it... Is a relaxing read, I mean there is some angst, but over all is more of a slice of life rather than a "revenge-reborn-relive", it does have some face slap but it's more about the loveeee

It's really Wonderful Novel so far! Not gonna lie. It's not perfect, but it's really really Good!!!

So far no misunderstanding between MC and ML or between MC and everyone he close with. Though near the end of the novel ch69+, finally there's a little Conflict between MC and ML that we hope would reveal lots of things especially MC's previous life experience. Even with this little Conflict, they still Loving toward each other and didn't have Cold War that last more than and Hour or very few hours? Very short... more>> emotional conflict that lead them to fast Fluff and more Loving moments.

MC is Badass so far because he learn things in his Previous life, for more than 2/3 part of the story, ML only know his Skill that related to Aromatherapy.

The story also show a little bit of MC's Trauma he has from what he had experienced in previous life. But only a little bit. This can or can't be count as Flaws, since the story itself mentioned why MC barely thinking about his Tragic Past; because his Present Life is Wonderful and because he also Busy. And barely in his present life related to his Trauma, except the Enemies who caused them in the first place.

Anyway, the story is Enjoyable and has Nice Pace. I hope the rest of the chapter is as Satisfying as the whole story! <<less

Recommend. No misunderstandings and both MC and ML are great together. Healthy relationship and cute kids. The main I like is that they really cut off toxic people in their life including their family and parents if they need to. None of that - cuz your family I won't do anything to you but know I don't like you - no they rly cut em out if their lives and it's so satisfying seeing the family regret and the main characters living their best life!
