Su Mo, a boy that often wears a smile. A strange guy that although his face may often seem impassive, his heart is far from it.

Is he depressed? No. He just has dissociative personality disorder.

His other personality’s name is Chu Han. A gloomy yandere, with a fervent passion for creating ‘art’. A soon as he appears, all of the people around him go silent with fear.

However, in Su Mo’s eyes, he is an innocent. To him, Chu Han is merely like a ‘feral child’ that occasionally tries to act cool and show off.

In the beginning, the writing was—as one commenter remarked—quite sporadic. The turn of events was easily confusing, but as the story progressed, the writing aswell as the translation got better and better. By the 100th chapter, it was waaay better than the first few chapters. I'm on chapter 171th right now, and the tension has definitely been upped significantly. I think the reality mission with the cat demon might be the most exciting for me. I could barely contain my excitement!

This contains (major?) spoilers so be warned. This is regarding... more>> my thoughts on the relationship between Su Mo and Chu Han.
Spoiler

In the beginning, maybe due to the fact that this isn't the first two identities in one body trope that I've encountered, I wasn't really uncertain as to what would their relationship result in the end. What did surprise me though, was the unexpected personality and situation of one of the main protagonist, Su Mo. As I've mentioned, the earlier chapters were easily confusing, but I kept reading. Primarily because I was intrigued by Su Mo and Chu Han, until now, I keep wondering about their backstory. I really hope some of their backstory is divulged, I don't want to be wondering forever.

Okay, sorry, I have a habit of getting off-topic. I wasn't really pushing the idea of them together, even though I knew they would inevitably end up together. My interest primarily lied in how the author would paint Dreamland Paradise. That being said, I wasn't completely disinterested with the romance aspect, just that it wasn't my focus. I was even quite fascinated, especially when the two of them developed a rift with their trust and relationship with each other. That was when I realized how this was vastly different with Supernatural Movie Actor App. In that novel, the main protagonist clearly considers his 'alter ego' as a completely separate identity from himself. With Su Mo and Chu Han, it's different. They consider themselves as one and the same, but at the same time, two different personalities. I think the part where Su Mo contemplates about how Chu Han's identity as a personality may have started making way for him to be a completely different entity due to his discovery of a place such as Dreamland Paradise, was especially interesting. It highlighted a struggle I hadn't considered before, what with the later conflict when Su Mo discovers that he may not even be the primary personality. That part was such a twist, in the end, it's not explicitly confirmed, but it is an interesting hypothesis.

[collapse]

Anyway, so far, I really like that we do see how their relationship with each other develops. I'm also excited with the other cast, such as Old Ke, Ghost Face, and Ryan. I understand that they are absolutely all inhumane. But quite like how a badass character in an action manga might be, I do admire their qualities that are just tailor-made for unlimited flow-like scenarios, especially since they're fictional. Now, if they weren't, I wouldn't wanna exist in the same timeline as them. Out of everyone, Su Mo surprised me the most.
Spoiler

Especially when it was revealed that he possessed no sense of right and wrong.

[collapse]
It sounds simple, but that's a scary quality to have, it basically ensured that he would never be able to coexist peacefully in normal society. The only reason he's gone largely unnoticed by the world is due to how rational he is, if it was Chu Han, oof.

Honestly, with how excited I got while reading this novel, I'm actually itching to illustrate some of the scenes as I imagine them to be. My life's felt pretty dull recently, which is why I picked out this novel to read, and I have not been disappointed. I feel like I can socialize for 3 days straight with all the excitement.

Another thing I noticed was that in the earlier chapters, whenever Chu Han appeared, it was like the narrator becomes possessed and the narration has this hint of comedy flavor, especially when they always referred to him as Uncle. I think it may be a title signifying a form of respect, but it's still funny to me, since I'm unclear on what exactly it means in Chinese. Everytime I read Uncle Chu Han, I don't know, it made me chuckle. Chu Han also has a really... peculiar personality, I mean, aside from being a monster. He's absurdly hilarious at times, most relatably, he reads romance novels ah. Most often, he possesses this kind of naivety, due to how unconnected he may have been with the world. It's surprisingly... cute?

With all that being said, I'm not used to writing book reviews here, since I'm usually a silent reader, and even all my lists are private. I just felt like writing one since I'm in the mood for it. I'm reading purely for pleasure, if I like it, I like it. If I don't like it, I don't read it.

So, I wrote the almost all the above-part of the review while I was starting the last arc of the novel. Now, I've completely finished reading all of it. Not much to say since I took a few hours to kind of let go (reaching the end is always kind of bittersweet) and decompress my emotions. I have to say, the most exciting parts of the novel is in the latter half of it, and although the ending felt kind of like a abrupt halt, the extras made up for the other curiosities I had. All in all, would recommend tou try reading it, especially if the synopsis was interesting to you. I also really liked scenarios, even though Dreamland Paradise remains a mystery.

Regarding their back stories, for the five of them, including Chu Han.
Spoiler

The four extras contained a brief recount of how they ended up at the 'yard' but don't really delve into what their life was before.

I've mixed feelings for this novel. The idea is good, but I just don't quite feel it. Although I have to say the first half was pretty interesting, the latter half felt kinda repetitive (??). It's not purely repetitive, but there's a feeling like I just knew what would happen. Tbh, I got bored halfway and skipped lots of chaps.

And I'm sure this should have the "slow-burn" tag or at least "dense protagonist."

Finally it has been picked!

Just a warning for this novel: this novel has gore, r*pe (ML to mc), the characters don't have humanity, killing everywhere.

The characters are psycho. Well, MC is a sociopath while ML is a total psycho.

... more>> Anyway, the protagonists were in mental hospital so there you go...

This one is not like Supernatural movie app. The MC and the ML is literally the same person...I mean it's the personality.

The MC and the ML is not like different soul in the same body like the movie app, it's DID.

Review contains super spoiler! Beware!

MC and ml

Spoiler

MC is actually artificially made... he is the clone of the sickly original. He is quite tragic. After he killed his original body, his parents hated him, and so Chu Han was created.

Ml-chu Han eats all mc's emotion, because he can't bare it. That's why, the entire text, the author describe Chu An as the evil itself. Because he was MC's negative emotions.

[collapse]

This is actually really good to read.

MC is one of the four great demons/devils of the assylum. In one of the extra, their back stories were told

The first one-- the monk

Spoiler

He was known as the most cunning of the four.

He is the brain actually... despite MC's intelligent he sometimes step on the Monk's trap.

Anyway, in the past, he was actually a philanthropist. A kind and good man. But he realized that no matter how much he give and give and give, those who are kind and generous will lose in the end.

So he becomes like a con artist... not rely more like a cunning shemer.

I don't know his race but his skills and abilities were realted to support and assist. He write and draw talismans. And his buddah bead have many uses.

[collapse]

Second is the Kingkong Barbie (I forgot their names...)

Spoiler

He is a half foreigner. He is tall, have long hair and full of muscles. He sometimes act like a woman.

He's specialty is dancing.

Whenever he dance surely you'll dance with him carrying your death.

His race is... undead? Something. His super skill is when he wore his tux, which is his weapon, the music will rang all over and the will dance.

[collapse]

Third is the ghost mask?

Spoiler

He always wear mask. And he is the youngest of them all.

His race is ghost. His presence is super low. And his profession is assassin.

He always wore a mask because of his delicate and youthful face. His ompast wasn't mentioned, but according to the monk, he also have dark past.

After all, he won't be sent to the assylum and tag as dangerous entity if not.

[collapse]

The fourth one who was send to the assylum is MC and ml.

Spoiler

Everyone is scared of ml. Actually, if not for his mental illness the government already shot MC to death.

Because Chu Han killed in reality. That's why they were so scared of him.

MC is a marksman. He has this pair of poker gun-- which has different effect depending on what card he shoot.

And ML is a natural fighter. He is OP.

Their race is a new race of elf.

[collapse]

Every great demon has a soul weapon or something?

Mc- has the soul devouring dagger

The monk has his buddah beads?

Kingkong Barbie has his tux

I forgot what weapon ghost mask received.

And the greatest spoiler!

Spoiler

the one who bought the four in was the four great demons' assigned psychiatrist.

[collapse]

The adventure of MC and ML is super fun. The theme plot lines are rich.

I like it specially when the four great demons always destroyed everything

One time when Kingkong Barbie and mc/ML teamed up, they almost destroyed that copy. Hahaha.

Also, the four great demons, although they are a great teammates, they don't trust each other. The author will always emphasize this.

The ending is relatively open.

Actually, this is a story of su*cide squad using criminals to fight of criminals.

So after the four great demons defeated the villains they went their life playing in the instances. After all for them the whole inifite flow is a playground. <<less

FINALLYYYYY!! SOMEONE TRANSLATED THIS!!

If you're looking for spoilers about this novel, read the review upstairs, not mine.

I've read this novel relying on mtl and I highly recommend it. I even posted in the forum last year of November for someone to translate/pick it up.

... more>> Which someone did, the reason of my joy today. I just got to know it today because someone commented on my post in the forum, linking this. (THANK YOU!!)

I did a review about this but I don't know where it is already so I'm just gonna type what I like about it;

  • Really good plot, I love it!
  • Excellent execution of words and everything.
  • The supporting characters are great! They're definitely not the type of character that just highlight the main protagonists.
  • The flow of the story is not too short nor too long. Simply perfect.
  • There is development!! And it can be clearly seen. (What I love.)
  • The romance is simply, chef's kiss.
  • The protagonists!!
  • The arcs are crazy!! You'll know when you read it.
  • It's BL, just mix it with UF genre and perfect!
  • It may seem similar to Supernatural Movie Actor App at first, but the two are vastly different.
Bye, Su Mo~ Chu Han~

Looking forward to another crazy year for you two.

Live a happy life~ <<less

It's a premise I'm really interested in but the writing was subpar. The author is constantly pushing the descriptions of the characters and their supposed madness onto us. Some things have to be left to the readers interpretation, we don't have to be force fed how crazy the characters are every few sentences. The closest description I can make of the author's writing in this novel is chunibyou. But that is my opinion, I don't want to discourage anyone from trying this.

I saw a comment saying that the MC is a sociopath and the ML a psychopath, and I would say that it's acttualy the opposite.

Despite what I thought when reading the sinopse, the MC is an cold and rational guy, takes no bullsh*t from his second personality but still care for him.

ML is the cutest red flag I ever seen, he's described as a maniac and dangerous person, extremely aggressive and unpredictable, but he's just a henpecked husband around the MC, and this contrast is lovely (gap moe maybe?). If... more>> you are worried with the r*pe tag like I was, don't worry, it isn't bad as you think.

While the MC and ML are overpowered, somehow they don't give off a "Gary sue" feeling. The world isn't made for them, there are things that they can't do and don't know about, albeit rarely, they make judgement mistakes too, it makes the world more realistic.

Now the bad points.

I feel like the story tries to force too much the "These people are psychos and crazy, normal people couldn't understand them" thing. Yeah, I wouldn't call the MC and his "friends" normal people, but they aren't unhinged as the story makes them look. Even, by the end of the story the MC and ML gradually moves from the guys that cause destruction and kill people to the guys that prevent destruction and save people, that made me a little sad considering how the "evil protagonist" was one of the things that made me start this.

This one can't be helped, but reading the mtl made the experience way worse than it could have been. The names were confusing, one single character can be mentioned using three different names, and it's hard to understand the more complex parts. If a translator picked this up I would totally read it again. <<less

Fun read. I haven't finished it but maybe sometime soon. Will say the author sometimes uses a bit of filler in the story, and I will agree the romance is SLOW. I read another review saying this, and yes it's true you really won't see much of the actual romance for a very long time.

Moving onto the novel itself, the MC is cold, apathetic, and cunning to the point where he can use anyone as a chess piece, while the ML is ruthless, a bit playful, and obsessed with killing.... more>> I think the characters are well written and have their own distinct characteristics. The story plot, direction, and 'npcs' are all nicely portrayed. I like the dash of face slapping in it too.

This novel is definitely not for everyone, and if you haven't seen the tag, yes there is a non-con r*pe scene.

Spoiler

(Slight r*pe scene spoiler: It's to be expected, they're both mental cases but ML was amnesic and possessed, so do what you will with that information)

I really loved this novel. I love the theme, the characters, MC and ML, action, and fantasy.

It's not for everyone and there is some dub con. I am particularly sensitive to any dubious content but here, maybe because some scenes lacked descriptions it wasn't blatant. There was a reason for that but I don't really believe in reasons behind dub-con. So, there is a reason, quite logically and rational but overall, it wasn't too bad when taking the whole novel and the discourse into consideration. It wasn't like in many... more>> novels where the MC is r*ped and the MC loves the oppressor and the oppression. This story is deeper and if it was like that I would drop it. Besides, later ML became a loyal dog. Not even my words, but ML's xd

It can be also because there is not a lot self-cest novels especially this long and well written. Additionally, translation is really good.

In the 1st part MC and ML didn't know how to cooperate but later, their relationship was becoming better and better. You could feel their affection for each other.

Another things I love - they are truly crazy. If ML is a psychopath, MC is a sociopath. It's not common for MC to be evil but here he is. They don't care about others, mainly each other and their own interests. ML is really crazy too, even more than MC but I like him a lot. He's not a typical overbearing CEO type but rather crazy chuunibyou overlord... at first (and there is a reason for that). Later, he matures a little while discovering the world. They both learn how to live and love.

In my opinion, the novel was rushed at the end. It could be soooo much longer but it's ok. The arcs were really long and interesting.

It was one of the very few novels were I was genuinely interested in side characters and would love to see spin offs. I really hope there will be a sequel because the way it finished it either can be a definitive end or it can be continued. You don't FEEL like anything was left fortunately but it's not like they can't continue their shenanigans. There are things left but as I said, it could be sooo much longer if it was really picked up because it could open the possibilities that are only available in the fantasy setting novel. After reading, I didn't feel like the ending was unsatisfying. The opposite, actually.

Overall, I loved the theme, characters, stories, worlds, and plot. I love that MC is evil and the self-cest part of the story. Mind the dub-con along the way but even if you're sensitive to this content it's not as bad as it seems. <<less

Overall Review:

Good story but it's just a bit slow for my taste.

Complaints:

It's just mostly my patience. But it's quite slow in my opinion. I like fast paced stories but not too fast to the point, where the pacing is just weird.
