Xu Qingran, originally an antagonist in an apocalyptic novel, finds himself pulled into a different interstellar world by a system after his death. In this new world, he is unloved by his biological father and stepmother, and his innocent stepbrother interferes with his relationships. He suffers ab*se from a scoundrel lover, enduring a tumultuous journey before ultimately achieving a grand happy ending.

The system instructs him, “You must undertake the strategy task, lay low, improve yourself, and turn the tables!”

Xu Qingran agrees, determined to fight back fiercely.

He then becomes a master at ruining others’ plans.

The system advises, “Act obedient to win back your father’s love and reclaim the wealth left by your biological mother!”

Xu Qingran responds, “Alright, I’ll be obedient.”

He kicks open the door, confronting the despicable couple occupying his mother’s property, demanding, “Will you leave peacefully or be carried out?”

Outside, people label him as a jealous brother, disruptive and ill-tempered, a notorious young master of the Yin Long faction.

The system says, “You have a natural advantage in appearance. Just act like a ‘green tea’ character, clear your name, and you’ll be more beloved!”

However, Xu Qingran not only counters all accusations but also outmaneuvers every ‘green tea’ character and intimidates even the haughty Third Prince.

Ultimately, he solidifies his reputation as an untouchable villain across the Empire.

Xu Qingran declares, “All beings are equal.”

Equally, he spares no one from his relentless demeanor.

That was such a satisfying read. I haven't read a good story in a while now. The plot twists and everything had me on edge sometimes though lol but, with RanRan's presence somehow, I was never once worried. It just gave me laughs, satisfaction, and feeding on their love.

My only complaint is that there were a lot of repeated paragraphs, and some were missing as well, confusing me in some chapters. Otherwise, it's all good. Thank you for your hard work in translating and not giving up on this story!!

I... more>> hope the extras will be updated soon! Can't wait!! <<less

One of the few stories where the MC and ML are in an equal relationship.

Both crazy and proud, they first start as enemies before progressively becoming lovers.

Just be aware that MC is very OP and has little to no struggles. He shines everywhere he goes and do whatever comes to his mind.

Now, about the MC

Spoiler

He's totally heartless. Even when it comes to ML, as he says it himself, if he dares to betray him, he will not indulge in sadness and will immediately move on after killing ML.

He's not an E-type (supposedly people who are prone to be evil, violent and unfeeling) but he's at the same level -if not worse than them.

He's also the crazy and rebellious type and doesn't fear to die (as long as he takes everyone with him to hell). Given his backstory, I don't think it's OOC of him to have no moment of soft-heartedness, except when it comes to ML for whom he accepts to do some concessions.

[collapse]

and the ML

Spoiler

He's crazy but has more self control than the MC. He refuses to give in his nature (E-type) and consequently appears as more gentle than the MC since he isn't the type to always act infuriatingly every 2 seconds.

Though, he is actually extremely cold and unfeeling and even sadistic. However, the difference is that he remembers good and tries as much as he can to repay it. The good thing is that it influences the MC in positive way.

[collapse]

About their couple dynamic

Spoiler

It's very healthy. They both follow their own goal and aren't always in contact with the other.

ML is more clingy than MC but MC progressively realizes that he also likes hanging out with the ML so he gets more clingy as the story progress.

[collapse]

And finally about their backstory

Spoiler

MC:

From the apocalyptic world, he died after being ambushed by the protagonist and his group. He originally is the villain from a book but the system management realized that he developed self-awareness and thus, sent two system, both for him and his sister (whose death resulted in his blackening but who actually always followed him and planned for his future happiness). The reason he was sent to the world of ML is because his sister wanted him to be happy but wasn't sure about how to make him open up to other since in the apocalyptic world he was lonely and viewed by everyone as cunning and villainous due to the plot influence.

ML:

He is also the villain from some guideverse book. Thanks to MC's sister, he was given the chance to be reborn. He already experienced a life full of suffering and meeting the MC allow him to also open up and progressively free himself from his hate and also painful past.

[collapse]

The only "cons" I could find

Spoiler

-At times the story could be a bit draggy and then suddenly it would quicken up its pace so it was a bit confusing.

-It was always the same thing with the netizens: criticizing MC, others defending the madman, and finally they all get face-slapped.

-Some antagonists were a bit cliché (the half brother of MC who kinda live in his own desillusions for some reason?) or just didn't meet the end they deserved (the Queen was so evil yet she was left off super easily while her son, who committed as much as she did under her brainwashing suffered a tenfold, which is imo really unfair.

[collapse]

Overall though, a very good story which follows the summary (it isn't always the case). <<less

From the beginning, I despised the evil tower. It was too obvious that it was just a tool the monarchy used to control powerful figures they feared.

This novel is a big thesis on nature vs nurture. You had vile non-E types that were psychopaths but got away with their crimes because their nature declared them innocent. All of the E-types without exception were bullied, ab*sed, violated, tortured; they were nurtured to dwell in negativity then condemned for it. I truly wonder if even one E-kid was lovingly raised, would they... more>> still become a psychopath, or just a regular autistic kid with superpowers.

This novel is quite gory. There is no mercy for any and all antagonists. Forms of punishment I would have found utterly intolerable easily passed because I felt a greater disgust towards the antagonists:

Spoiler
  • I don't believe anyone deserves to be r*ped. But I couldn't even defend Xu Qing'an because it was his own arrangements. &Amp; many more people had suffered at his hands.
  • MC was truly a master at making people suffer from the works of their hands. Again, I despise any plots to do with drugs. But the prince created these drugs. Created the Evil Tower 1. He led to his own demise.
  • This novel had me so twisted, I was mad the Queen got away with so little torture.
[collapse]

Anyway, the world building was excellent. Plot got a bit convoluted because it was a mixed bag of rebirth, transmigration, systems, etc.

The translation is subpar, often changing important names and mixing up paragraphs. <<less

More like 3.5 stars, but I enjoyed it enough to finish so rounded up.

Let me first say that I completely understand how some readers love the MC and ML, for me though, I just didn't like them. I prefer MC's that have a little kindness in them. So below are just my opinions and don't suggest reading them if you loved MC.

MC Pros: strong, he doesn't need the ML to save him. He is proactive when it comes to snu snu times, no shy boy.

MC Cons: there is just something... more>> that bothers me about him. Maybe he is too brutal? I want a MC to stand up for themselves, but his actions went too far. He doesn't really care about anyone other than himself. Sure he'll help some people along the way as long as it's fun for him or not an inconvenience, but he is selfish. He does care about ML at the end.

Spoiler

honestly I get why his sister got a chance to change her fate, but not sure why the MC did. His life s**ked for sure in his apocalyptic world, but he was also brutal and villianish. I guess that is why he was sent to a world that was falling apart? He was a villain but redeemable so as long as he fixed the world he gets his chance? Idk just seemed weird when the explanation from the system comes out, could be missing something as it's just MTL

[collapse]

ML is seriously the typical smiling fox cold CEO type. It's all explained though that it's because he is an E. Which I don't like the whole E's are basically psychopaths with no feelings except towards a D type and then they are overly possessive.

Spoiler

I was really hoping the author would show us an E or few that didn't fit the stereotype just like how MC doesn't fit the D type. All shown E types were the same though. I was just uncomfortable with the setup

[collapse]

The idea of the story is very interesting and is what kept me from dropping it despite my dislike of the main characters. I will agree the entertainment esque parts felt forced.

Spoiler

I don't usually like tsundere characters, but the third prince was a fun side character. Love his interactions with MC in the later parts, just wish he had more time in the novel.

The rest of the side characters are kind of forgettable. The ML has his 2nd in command that is like a husky, he is okay but nothing really new. Most of the characters introduced in the begining get delegated to the back, but wasn't that interested in their story lines.

The half brother pops up randomly, but never really does much, just gets face slapped. It's like a game of random wack-a-mole with him.

The MC sister still being there and no resolution with her was a let down. Wish she would have let go so that the MC could let go. Kind of weird to have your sister watching you always from your boyfriend POV.

[collapse]

I wish the ending with the devil's was a bit more fleshed out, with the 2 leads working more together, but meh. The end was abrupt, there are extras, but not really interested.

All in all I may not read again, but it was a good time waster. <<less

People say opposite attracts, but what we have here is where the same kind repel each other then attract each other, mix with madness and love all roll in to one. Their so intense, yet so fragile because all sort of data and reasons that never give the out come their are the best suited for each other in the entire universe.

We introduce to a world where people are categorize into different categories according to their Psyche, Where E is the one most people are afraid off, but are also... more>> the strongest with their tendencies to be violent and possessive and all kind of negative emotions that lead them more likely to commit crimes.

Our ML just happens to one of them, just like MC he's has a really special secret
Spoiler

He has been give the chance to Rebirth

[collapse]

Both MC and ML are OP, but no don't just be put off, because we explore how they became OP and how much pain and suffering they have to endure to get that point. It makes very emotional invest in them as characters.

MC's whole original family are tr*sh, watching him teaching them a lesson then hand them slap after slap was very satisfying, never gets tired of MC doing face slapping, he's so unpredictable and gets the title of Little mad man from the whole empire. He went from being so hated to be so loved and respectable, awe by all people. The journey was very fun to read and go through, it is very rewarding watching him grow not just as his powers but as a person as he opens up more.

Both MC and ML are very lonely individuals, who trust no one and very cruel to enemies. They can kill without batting an eye. I just like that about MC, why waste time talking tr*sh, if they want to harm me, send them to hell. It's not brainless killing, he chooses the right moments too and give good reasons, had people shut up and it feels extra great!

You just feel so bad for both them for their past experiences as you keep reading. You unconsciously want to be together, want to them be happy, want them to have the best of everything. Couple time want to jump into the novel to stab that villain Crown prince and his mother a few times..

The title is right about stabilizing Madness, them stabilizing each other's madness. Novel within novel, the madness driving themselves crazy and rescuing each other, this is so good to read, enjoy the madness, the world setting and facelslapping, also other characters regardless friend or foe all very well written. <<less

The big strong point in this story is MC and ML and also the universe of the novel. They're not together yet but their vibe is so sexy and passionate

The faults are first of all the very low IQ of the secondary characters like when MC beats someone in front of everyone (and even during a live broadcast) because they provoked it and the next day other people came to provoke him while everyone saw that he was super strong.

or another time:

Director: You can't find a better teacher than this... more>> general major

While MC coexists with another major general!?

It's a pretty frustrating and boring repetitive cycle.

Also the original host to a really over-the-top melodramatic story that isn't very believable after a while. Even the MC comments on this weirdness.

(I'm french so I MTL my opinion) <<less

First of all, I LOVE THIS.

This really satisfied my itch about some BL stories.

The couple has a early chemistry but as rivals, friends to lovers. They literally want to fight or kill each other early on. Then they became friends to lovers after knowing each other.

I like that, unlike with other BL stories, the MC and ML still focus on their own careers but never forgets to spend time together. Them being both dominant didn't stop them from pursuing their own goals. They are both supportive. The ML is not... more>> a cold domineering excellent ML but possessive. He truly cherish MC and supports him. While the MC is not a effeminate aimless guy. He has clear goals and determine. He equally values and cares about the ML.

The MC is very chaotic and the "uptight" is there to be his partner in crime. They are madmen but their every step calculated.

This is definitely a must-read for those seeking a genuine power couple. <<less

It was a very enjoyable read with a lot of face slapping, interesting supporting characters, redemption arcs, and a detailed world building that spanned years.

I appreciated the slow burn between the MC and ML that allowed them to get to know each other. I actually liked that they didn’t like each other at the beginning but grew to enjoy each other’s company. Also, really like the build up throughout the years that showed us MC becoming stronger progressively and being more and more badassed.

This is a darker novel so a... more>> lot of deaths do happen and some characters get pretty humiliating and gruesome endings. MC does not pull punches and retaliates in the same way the schemers would to him so that means he punishes them with their own scheme. This could even mean r*pe or disclosing s*x tapes.

Spoiler

loved that the MC’s powers depended on his own affection towards ML instead of the other way around. It’s very in line to who MC is. Little sister was also so cute and cool haha

This is probably one of my favorite interstellar novels so far! MC is super OP, and he never does what I expect. He's so unpredictable, sometimes snarky, but always crazy. He doesn't compromise when it comes to his own interests. There were a few scenes where I had my mouth gaping open. I love this character! Good times!

Both MC and ML support each other's endeavors, no matter how crazy. I love how they each have their own careers and lives, but still maintain their relationship in their own way.

Anyway, great... more>> read. Regarding translation, there are a few times the names were incorrect, but that's fine for me. What really kind of bothered me was that many sections of the novel had quotation marks for each paragraph, making it confusing to determine if someone was speaking, thinking, etc. Also, there were a bunch or sections that repeated randomly throughout the book. However, I believe this is a an editing issue maybe. I sincerely thank the translator for picking up this amazing novel!

(Note: Chapters 1-113 are fully translated, but the extras are not.) <<less

An enjoyable interstellar novel that has a somewhat unique take on the psychic powers so prevalent in this genre. The main character is enjoyable. He's ruthless and can be very cold-hearted to his enemies, but he does, in fact, follow moral guidelines that make him relatable. Part of the enjoyment is watching him confidently bulldoze his way through things other characters (including the male lead) would hesitate on, but he does so in a manner that is enjoyable and never made me really question the ethics of the character. It's... more>> this characteristic that draws the male lead to him in the first place, and their relationship is one of mutual reliance that allows them to grow. The ML was a breath of fresh air, as he doesn't follow the stereotypical "interstellar Marshall" seen in many of this genre. He has weaknesses and likes and dislikes that don't match the stereotype and instead, the way he and the main character interact with these personality traits makes their relationship far more enjoyable.

I did almost rate this a 4 instead of a 5 as there are a few plot lines and such that came up a bit abruptly, but such is the way of a serialized novel. Everything was rounded out quite nicely. It was, over all a very satisfying read. The chapters are also very long, so it feels like a much longer novel than 113 chapters. <<less

I love this novel. Just finished it and although proud that it’s now on my reread list, I’m kinda mad I didn’t read it earlier. The two protagonists are the ultimate CP, both in terms of strength and psycho-ness. The insanity is off the charts and it’s wonderful. I personally feel some things were better off... without, as it kind of threw the plot off the rails for a second... but overall, the story was well written. It’s rare that I find novels I’m unwilling to put down, and this... more>> is one of those gems. <<less

MC and ML are both MAD, LUNATICS AND FIT PERFECTLY TOGETHER!

I really enjoyed reading this novel. At some point the I felt that MC's madness is too irrational/reckless but soon as the story progressed, that recklessness had rationality behind it. Especially at the last few arcs..

So when reading it, just trust the process and keep on reading it ☺️ 💖

This was nice. I'm not a huge fan of sci-fi and all that but man, what a difference a good writing style makes. I did have to scroll along some of the lengthy sci-fi bits though.

I liked the MC's price and confidence, but I didn't like how he goes over the top especially when retaliating. ML is definitely more fair and kind in comparison. Sometimes I wish MC had the maturity to not waste his efforts on insignificant characters, but maybe the writer was trying to meet a face slap... more>> quota. I'm also a sucker for when the MC and ML don't get along at first sight; really enjoyed their rivalry and banter.

I wouldn't recommend this to those that don't like an extremely OP MC. He did have his challenges and some limitations but he's very protected by the plot.

I found that the story tried to close out any of the little hints it gives out during the story, explaining how they all connect to each other which was nice.

There were times when I thought "oh this is a bit cliche" or "oh this is just a plot device", that it ruined my immersion of the story a bit. I also had my own reservations on the charactisation at some points, I've found either the MC or ML acting a bit out of character but I guess you can say that they changed cuz of love?

All in all a nice read. <<less

The part where the MC was sentenced to the evil tower really set the mood

[collapse]

The relationship aspect was a long wait. I love how it isn't some love at first sight or the stereotype of some ABO novel where the love was predestined by fate and you just magically became attracted to one another. The ML and MC slowly develop, understanding each other and falling for the person they are.

MC wise, a madman, in a chaotic neutral way? I see a lot of comments saying he is a villain but honestly, all his actions are just retribution for what others have done to him. He is simply karma incarnate. But his action doesn't actually go against any of moral, with the author explaining his seemingly drastic measures which kinda let me down. But overall a total badass.

I took away a star cuss when reaching the 80s chap where MC go to develop his camp. The romance almost became nonexistent. It was where it go into his career development faze but also where the novel became vanilla with how OP he is. Before when he was in the academy, it showed his hardworking and persistent how nothing was handed to him for free (very refreshing). But now somehow nothing could even leave a stain on his shoe. It was just too gloss over with no unique flavor of the earlier chaps.

But other than that pretty good. <<less
