Wu Jin, as a trainee from a certain entertainment company, had a peerless, stunning face. He was qualified to debut as a lead performer even if he just sat there and did nothing.

After signing up for a certain talent show, the shining path to stardom beckoned to him––

Wu Jin: Hold on, why is this show different from what we agreed on? Wasn’t it supposed to be about jumping around, dancing, and singing songs? Why do you have to send me out into the wilderness…

Program Producer: You’re a once-in-a-century high appearance value competitor! We’re relying on you to save the program’s ratings!

Wu Jin: … I seem to be on the wrong show. Wait a minute, this isn’t an idol show, it’s a fighting survival reality show ahhh!!

Ten months later, the little cutie who had been thrown into the show––

Turned into a human weapon.

Powering up through various instances, slight entertainment circle elements.

Extremely overpowered gong x little cutie who grows to become an overpowered shou.

I actually finished this last year when the translation was done. Best infinite flow novel!

Reason? I have so many reasons!

  1. Gorgeous copies! My fave is definitely the Tarot card instance! Not only because that is the beginning of our CP, but also because I've played Persona series and I love how the author implement them into an instance. Second fave is the Versailles because it sounds super interesting and I'd love to try in RL!
    Spoiler

Although seeing ghost projections will scare me

    [collapse]
  2. Super hardworking MC! It's not his high face spec and adorableness that hit me the hardest, but his sheer hardwork. Me, an absolute failure in exercising, cannot relate to how MC just go from 'never touching a gun and making a fist' into who he is by the end of the show. He grow so fast in 8 (?) months! (I think the whole show only takes 8 months anyway...)
  3. ML is an iceberg on the outside but his inner monologue when describing his action is very cute. Also... our ML has developed quite a number of kink by the end of the show! Hahaha
  4. Sad dramatic backstory revelation. I think nearly all chinese novel protagonists have sad backstory, but theirs are definitely plus points here!
    Spoiler

especially the reveal that there is no transmigration at all. It's a good explanation!

    [collapse]
  5. So much colorful side character that shines throughout the story! Protective dad Zoe, the chill mom Wen Lin, the oblivious bro Caesar, similarly silly bestie Ming Yao, gentleman Zuo Botang who accidentally got bent, socially awkward supposedly a male God Wei Yan, the supportive little follower Lin Ke, the proud narcissist Thin Fire, the ever heartbroken mama fan Vera, and Ning Fengbei the queen who'd rather die together than lose. Names usually escapes me, but I can remember them still after months :')
There is only 1 con... I needed more of their reveal!! One chapter where their fans reaction is only @%&#*@£ is not enough!!!
Spoiler

I don't even think the fans ever figure out that Wei Shi is the king of Floating City!! Or at least they should post their marriage certificate so the fans at least knew how long their CP has sailed! I am indignant on their fans' behalf!! XD

literally waited every day for our god XIIN to update this masterpiece. An AMAZING PLOT with BREATHTAKING characters. I love all our main cast from the cute but sharp and intelligent wu jin (MC) to the emotionless but doting and powerful wei shi (ML). ML actually lets MC develop his skills on his own and allows him to go through his own sets of challenges. MC goes through such a satisfying character development. You can tell how much I love this piece. ALL THE STAGES/WORLDS ARE ASTONISHING! I loVE the... more>> louis XIV and dinosaur one! And the way MC and ML spreads dogfood while hiding from the livestream cameras are simply *melting sounds*.

I like it. My brain is mushy rn so I can't really think well but this is a good story.

My criteria for judging interstellar stories are

  1. What are the rules they've created
  2. Does their actions comply with the rules?
I think yes.

I grew up watching Detective Conan so I'm numb to all the critics saying he's able to gleam the rules from a glance. Even if it's true, I don't think that's wrong because he clearly has other shortcomings to make up for it. Plus, there were a lot of timeskips that omitted... more>> the amount of effort MC put in so he wasn't bad*ss in a day.

About the ML.. Did you read the story? ML have tried giving plenty of resource to MC but MC often rejects him and uses his own effort to win many of the battles.

I like it, their romance is uhh really different than others

Spoiler

Their pterosaur dates!! Their armory proposal!! Wth its so so different from other cp I read so far.

[collapse]

I really like the side characters as well, they feel like they exist outside of MC's world and each of them have their own characteristic.

I think most of people's disappointment stems from their weird expectations for this book before reading it. Which is.. I dont have the word for it but it is strange.

I feel like when I get my required amount of sleep i'd come back and see a lot of grammar mistakes here but nvm <<less

This novel was so good that I got post-book blues after I finished reading it.

Our adorable and obedient 9-yr-old (no, not actually) child MC-Little Witch-is possibly the cutest MC I have ever encountered across all the danmei I have ever read. Our ML-Wei Shi-is really doting to MC and is the type who supports his little bunny bf from the back and always gives the MC just the push he needs to succeed. He’s super respectful to the MC’s wishes and doesn’t interfere with MC’s career. Like literally he is Little Witch’s #1 super fan husbando and isn’t afraid to show it. ML also gets more and more romantic as the story goes on. I truly believe that these two are star-crossed lovers who truly deserve each other because the way their past played out really stabbed me in the heart and healed it with sugar and warmth afterwards with their interactions. It was also pretty cute whenever the two of them bantered and I love how their family of little pets just keeps on growing.

All the characters in the survival training show are so organic and you really can’t help but feel attached to them. Mah lil boi Wei Yan and his confusion and helplessness due to his inability to outwardly express himself. Mama Zoe and Dada Wen Lin ahhhh I ship them so much. Also JINGYI CP!!1!111 I especially loved the extra with the Jingyi double-c couple (really wish there was more bc I ship them so friggen much hnnnnngh). Sometimes I felt as if I was part of the Crosson show audience and I felt connected especially with all the Little Witch mama fans, Scarf CP girls, Jingyi CP fans, etc.

Also, the author is an absolute genius with the setting and world building of this novel and each of the competitions. My mind was super duper... more>> blown away by all the technology and you can really tell the author did her research to make all the futuristic science stuff believable. Honestly.. The author is probably just as much of a learning tyrant as Little Witch lol.

To be completely honest, this review was just a rant for me to vent all my excessive feels from reading this masterpiece of a novel. I honestly got super attached to all the characters and am really sad now to let them go now that I finished reading╭ (╯^╰) ╮ If I could give this novel a 10/5 I would bc everything about this novel was just so perfectly well done-even the extras. <<less

First, before I pick up this novel, I rely onto comments from other readers who finished this novel. In my opinion, this novel is one of many novel which portrayed realistic improvement of MC. I can give 100% support to his changes and self improvement which move from placing in the bottom range to successful debuted in 4th place. Not to exaggerates neither the author push MC to rely solely onto ML. Although ML still has the overbearing aura which can be seen commonly in other novel, but here I... more>> can point out the differences which has mature elements. The author seems to put how MC and ML regardless their special relationship still respect each other pride as man which rarely be seen.

I feel proud to see a novel which has it owns special characters which different and able to stand by its own. Everything in the plot are real and parallel with the facts which you can google on later if you wanted to further inquired more information.

For the arc, most of them show how the MC improve himself and you might seem the author really portrayed him to be a perfect figure, but later it all make sense because the author will reveal his real identity in the 31st century.

The interaction between MC and ML is full with flavor and there will be a mix of maturity in it. For those who wants a cute fluffy MC who act coquettish towards ML, this novel is not for you. All I can say is this novel portrayed a high understanding couple who know what they want and what important in their life.

For the other reader who comment about the slow pace in this novel, well they are right, because author focusing more towards revealing MC and ML characters which suit in the 31st century. Although they fall in love with each other early, but the realistic of human nature is there and I really love it. This is what human beings will act in the real life, because none of use able to read others mind. We tend to have anxiety and wanting to proves ourself in order to leave high impression. Well that's exactly a natural human feelings.

For the sake of revealing their marriage, for me it is not important, because that's is their privacy. Even in the real life most of us will tend to make it memorial between the couple themself because it really whats matter. But here, the author make it seem the MC and ML not really hiding their relationship neither publishes it to the public. Well none of it concern me, because I always educates my self to respect other wants. Again, this is based on my opinion and since I read many novel and encounter many good, excellent, and poor novel, for me this novel still unable to get me read through it for the second time. I have no particular reason for this, just for me this novel does not leave me with a huge impression other than how great the couple are and how good the level of understanding between MC and ML. <<less

I dropped it because not only it became boring and I needed to push myself to continue since ~100-ish chapter, but the setting and the plot made me so frustrated! I'm even quite angry thinking about it.

Main couple's interactions, their chemistry are enjoyable, but there are not enough of them.

Just in the end I felt like everything's senseless, because every MC/ML's success is driven by The Fate Itself. It's not interesting, it decreases your will to live and improve yourself and it's just disappointing. Everything that happens with MC and... more>> ML and a couple of side characters is simply caused by who they are by the right of birth.

And so I found myself desiring one of more realistic and humane, not absolutely 666 side characters to be MC instead.

Also the conception of future doesn't feel satisfactory, unique or realistic. I hate politics in such novels, it usually is a tr*sh. Monarchy and market hegemony, classic!

Talking about the Show itself, I liked it and I loved historical themed arc, though MC is solving everything because he's MC.

To sum up, it may be quite funny, but if you don't like the idea of main characters being perfect creatures destined to each other, I do not recommend it to you. <<less

I really enjoyed reading this novel

  • MC is cute and hardworking
  • MC's path to being strong feels natural
  • ML is devoted while not being overly possessive. He still lets MC improve and grow on his own path.
  • There's no "b*tch" character thats one-sidedly evil that everyone hates or tries to tear the relationship apart
    Spoiler

I mean theres the scientists but that doesnt count since they arent really expanded upon

    [collapse]
. Every character in the talent competition genuinely just wants to do well for themselves and their team, its great to see
  • Theres female characters introduced for one arc and I really like how they arent portrayed horribly as other bl novels I've seen (Ive seen so many novels treat women characters as sluts and its so annoying tbh)
  • Some arcs may be long and can kinda drag on but the scenarios that the trainees go through are so creative, it makes up for it. Seeing MC figure out the scenario is so fun and interesting. Every arc for the talent competition is so distinctive and described well

This BL was one of the most beautiful BLs I've read in a while. Holy sh*t it was long too and full of dog food, action, and just amazing story plot. I haven't done a extensive story review in a while but I'll try my best.

Plot: 8.5/10

First off, I'd like to address that the summary listed above isn't as clear as it should be. Wu Jin, our MC, had transmigrated from a 21st century idol talent show to a survival themed show full of fighting and guns in the 31st... more>> century. That's mostly all I will say about the summary. Anyways, this story is a 50/50 plot and romance story. It's a nice balance and honestly something I look for in all stories I read. The plot has a unique "survival show" type off gig (that vaguely reminds me of an action version of Produce 101) . However the plot development isn't anything special. It follows the standard "MC levels up and goes from weak to strong." Yet most of the arcs made me gasp at the brilliance and action, and this is mainly due the author not skipping out on details. I often see authors summarize the arcs at times (telling but not showing) yet the author here always creates a fabulous setting in each of her arcs and also unfolds intricate and thoughtful elimination matches (which are common in the survival shows). The author has done her research on guns, history, dinosaurs, etc and construed a beautiful mystery game in her elimination matches that are jam packed with action (so logic, which my rabbit excels at, and actions is both included in the games!). I can't express my love for that enough.

Outside of the survival show, there is also some plot that is best not to mention for the sake of spoilers. However, I also loved that outside plot dearly and it satisfied all my cravings that I didn't even know existed. I really want to compliment the author who wrote this because she really did a fine job pulling the reader in with hidden desires and mostly satisfying those hidden desires through the outside plot.

Spoiler

One complaint I would like to add is that in the end of the story, Wu Jin was unable to stand on equal footing with the ML, Wei Shi. Granted, his footing was still very close to being on equal level, but this unequal footing still left me slightly annoyed. I felt that the whole point of this story was to have Wu Jin be able to beat his lover occasionally and vice versa. But he only beat him once? Like bit*h I know that's not luck and Wu Jin probably worked hard for that victory, but I prefer something like Haikyuu, where the two characters are on equal power and this can accumulate occasional wins and losses with each other. Not just... one win and then calling it a day ya know? That's probably the only reason I took off one point from my rating

[collapse]

Characters: 9.5/10

Our MC, Wu Jin, is honestly a very adorable badass bunny rabbit. He's at first timid and weak, but still has this amazing brimming potential that soon harvests itself later in the story. He's beautiful (of course) yet that fact is soon overshadowed by his skill later on in the story. He becomes recognized as a warrior, not a pretty model—which is extremely refreshing. What's more, he hardly relies on the ML when he battles. He would rather lose than do that exactly. He uses his strength to win, and is is determined to be respected through his own means. One amazing attribute about Wu Jin is that despite his physical disadvantages (having an idols body for a completion full of burly men ahem), he still manages to do excellent in the competitions due to intelligence. His intelligence overwhelms any of the groomed players even during the beginning of the competitions, and it's hella badass if I say so myself. Those are the pros. I only have one con, and it's that he becomes a weak bunny rabbit especially in front of the Ml. Sure he's mischievous and playful and not timid in front of the Ml, yet he still ends up being overpowered. It's understandable when you consider that the ML has 7 years of war experience that gives him that domineering presence compared to the MC, but this type of set up continues to happen even after the end, which once again, left me slightly annoyed.

Our ML is the exact definition of cold, overbearing, OP President at first. But that's only at the initial stage. Once you go further in the story, you'll realize he has depth and emotions that extend from the common character set up. I found it actually adorable that his mind (which is full of bunny Wu Jins hopping about) completely was the opposite from his cold character. And as you get further in the story, you realize there's a uncontrollable reason and backstory to his cold character set up, and that makes his character full of richness. The ML also—despite his set up—lets Wu Jin do his own thing, respects his decisions regardless of his (ML's) personal feelings that might want something else. He's extremely gentle with Wu Jin, but also knows his to toughen and train him up for future competitions without giving him a direct golden spoon. In other words, he gives Wu Jin the resources to improve, but it's ultimately up to Wu Jin's hard work and ability to use those resources to the max that Wu Jin finally also becomes respected.

I usually don't enjoy reading about side characters. And it's probably because the authors I've read from never really developed them properly. Yet this author did and I'm eternally grateful. All the side characters have unique temperaments that made me enjoy reading about them even when they were not the main characters. I can recite all the side characters one by one and give detailed character evaluations too. From a person who usually skips scenes when reading a BL novel due to side characters, this is saying a lot. One more thing I would like to add, is that the side characters and their developments all are seen through their interactions with the main characters. In other words, you're not gonna be getting this hella long arcs focusing on a side character and making you wanna skip so you can get back to the MC. That's one of the reasons I don't like developing the side characters, but the author does this seamlessly without deterring away from the MC, so I graciously applaud her.

Romance: 10/10

Perfect. No complaints here. Honestly you'll be smiling to full max every single time you see their interactions. It's fluff that doesn't deter away from the action or seriousness of events. True quality dog food *chefs kiss*.

Translation: 10/10

Seamless. I can see how much effort was out in. Especially when the author used so many foreign war terms and history, all was translated accurately and delivered the authors intentions and complex dabbles in the mystery genre of the novel.

Conclusion

That's all! I highly recommend this novel! Took me like a week to complete with my screen time average being 11 hours a day though haha.... hahahahahaha....I wouldn't worry about this novel being too short. <<less

If you're hesitating, listen to me and just give it a try. Out of all BL's I have read this is by far the most enjoyable. Even though it is a BL it doesn't solely focus on their romance and the idea that it's "two males in love". The concept of the entire novel is just amazing, from the elimination round concepts, fight details and character background, everything is just perfect. As a sci-fi novel it's simply stunning, the story telling and the way everything weaves together is just so... more>> well done. I seriously don't know how the author even thought of some of these ideas and concepts in the first place, the translator also did such an amazing job and it was really easy to read.

Of course its not only the technicalities that are amazing, the romance is just as gratifying. Although not as lovey-dovey as most BL couples, the MC and ML's relationship give you a more tacit understanding kind of feel. They're not overly passionate and it's kind of a slow burn, but at the same time it doesn't feel slow because you can genuinely feel their feelings for each other. There's no big misunderstanding that tears them apart, because they actually communicate with each other, and I don't know about you but that seems like a nice and healthy relationship.

Anyways If you like Sci-fi, puzzle solving and amazing brain powers, pick this up. I promise you won't regret it. <<less

5 stars. Wow.

This is my second 5 stars among the novels I’ve started reading. Too good to NOT read. I love Little Witch x Wei Shi. Scarf CP FTW!

The characters inside are just too hilarious and catchy, you love every moment of them. The author and translation is the best! I never knew how s*xual scenes can be so subtle here.

Spoiler

It's mostly an infodump each instance. Like, the history and everything's nice but what made it bearable reading all that text was because you had a live audience that would comment during the instance. Now, it's just history... Science... plot. Instance ends and the next begins...

[collapse]

To me, after the the first couple instances, it just doesn't feel very exciting. Like the plot's great and everything and the MC is consistent and hard-working... Even the ML is great, they mostly have a sorta teacher/student relationship almost (not actually teacher student but where ML teaches MC stuff an MC tries hard to succeed while falling in love) and the relationship is slow, but pretty nice. Idk, I guess the instances feel sorta dragged on... Not bad though, I thoroughly liked the first 2 rounds of the competition. Why'd they cut out the reactions from the audience though? <<less

I found this novel by chance.. And was impressed with the high rating of this novel, that's why I start to read this.. And I NEVER regret it! It has good romance and friendships!

Basically I have three words to describe the romance: cute and sweet. every time I will go Awww~ at their romantic interaction between the ML and MC. And I think that it is not really a very late or slow romance for this, at the earlier chapters it can be seen that both the MC and ML... more>> gradually likes each other but they never go further in, their first kiss

Spoiler

happens in chapter 80 and I am very happy that it is actually the MC who took the initiative to kiss first.

[collapse]

and from there, they gradually open more to more with each other and eventually confirmed their relationship.. But they still a secret from the rest of the contestants and the public. The funniest part was every time they want to kiss or what during the elimination rounds, they had to avoid the cameras to do that, and there were times where the camera were accidentally hit away so that they can kiss.

I am happy with the plot, as the story is not what it seems which makes it interesting

Spoiler

e.g. The MC actually did not transmigrate, what happened was part of MC's past which is explained in the novel later on.

[collapse]

I also like all the elimination rounds in the novel. The author makes it very interesting by having interesting concepts and themes in the elimination rounds and I actually learn quite a bit as mentioned by one of the other reader - I had to google to understand some of the terms mentioned in the novel - but I am not complaining~

the only part that I have complain is about the villain in this novel

Spoiler

Shao Yu. I kind of expect more fighting scenes between him and the ML after all both of them are strong. I never expect him to get subdued with his memories lost without much of a fight.

[collapse]

Overall I have to say I am really very impressed with this novel. It has become one of my favourite.

The friendship between the MC and the other contestants is also nice! I find that this is one of the rare novel that also focus on friendships beside romance, which makes me like this novel even more.

Spoiler

There's even extra chapters dedicated to jingyi double c which I love it! I already kind of guess that Ming Yao likes his captain throughout the novel (actually it is quite obvious) and I am glad that this was written out in the extra chapter and the captain finally acknowledged it!

[collapse]

Please do give this novel a try, I highly recommend it! <<less

Note: Basically, MC was preparing for an idol show and then he suddenly crossed time into the interstellar age, participating in the same show 1000 years later which is a fighting survival show.

Honestly speaking, I have a lot of respect for our MC. Yes, MC starts off a weakling and the truth is he's basically entirely cultivated by ML. However, MC does work very hard and chooses to rely on himself instead of the OP ML.

However, idk about their romantic relationship? First of all his attention was attracted way too... more>> quickly given his background as cold & lacking emotions. Even if he helped him out that first time, it doesn't make sense that he would go SO out of his way, and definitely not go see him again. But oh well. Afterwards, it feels like MC is just a pet coincidentally picked up by ML, and coincidentally ended up doted on, and coincidentally turned out to be human thus allowing a romantic relationship. Like he's more therapy companion than lover? And MC likewise seems like he admires & owes ML more than he loves ML? Idk. I mean, it's a classic relationship formed between OP ML & weak-to-strong MC I guess.

The arcs are actually very interesting, and the MC is very smart. My favourite is the dinosaur raising bit haha. It also feels like there's an impressive story behind MC's background & his transmigration. The novel is well-written and intricately planned.

However, truthfully, although the novel is not bad in almost all aspects, I feel kinda bored... <<less

It's a fun story where the MC gets transmigrated into the future. What I like the most about this is how the MC didn't start out as OP. Instead needing help from ML who teaches him the ropes.

He's dedicated and hard-working, never slacking off. He's always driving to prove ML, the world, and himself that he could rise to the top without pulling strings. And he's not 'naturally' smart, he studies lots before every game, that's one of the reasons why he's able to be survive.

MC faces a lot of... more>> sour people who's not satisfied that a pretty but weak looking bunny is able to climb against big experienced hunks.

This is a good novel. The plot is actually there, and the MC and ML are interesting enough for me. What does bother me is their actual interactions? It gets a bit distracting, and I find myself just quickly skimming over it. Which is a first, since I usually live for the cute interactions in BL novels. It just seems a bit too much, in my opinion. The survival show is the fun part and I’m all for the badassery though! And the other characters are actually a bit fun.

Freaking adorable and thrilling, with a fantastic cast of characters. The good bits of unlimited flow (themed survival games with obscured rules) with non-lethal outcomes (since it's a livestreamed entertainment show). Also the fan/audience response is delightful. If it tells you anything, I kept grinning and laughing to myself while reading this story.

Alternatively - ML takes his rabbit Little Witch out on a series of very energetic walks, sans leash.

(Also, can I just say that I deeply appreciate how, while the ML is OP and possessive, he actually teaches... more>> Wu Jin and respects his choices and supports him in his efforts to grow. I love me an obsessive ML with basic human decency.) <<less

Wow! I remember being iffy about the summary but I should have read the tags. I wish I read this novel sooner. The other reviews do a better justice in being informative so all I really want to say is that it's super fun to read.

The writing is great. And the translation helps a lot. I can see this story being a headache to read thru mtl. I know some reviews didn't like the innocent/cute character of the MC but I quite liked it. It added some silliness to the... more>> story. The other aspects of the plot is very well done - author definitely did decent research. Overall very fun.

The plot is great!! Wow, so many questions that I had - the reason for transmigration, where is the MC'a friends and family, what is the backstory - all were answered. And it was a twist I was not expecting even when I was up to chapter 100. I was wondering why the tags were what they were. The MC and ML's relationship was great. The side characters are interesting too and add value. The instances were well written. There wasn't any part of the story I was disappointed by. Even the extras were great. I'm quite happy how things turned out. Wowowowow. So happy I read this story.
Spoiler

I think other reviews cover enough but huge spoiler is that this is not a "dropped into another world" type story.

I like the relationship between MC and ML. It didn't seem to sudden once we find out why ML picked MC. And they have growth and care. It never felt like ML was doing all the work for MC. And we can see MC working hard. Love it. <<less

Tldr- made me laugh, made me lose sleep, made me sniffle. A+, would read again.

I'm came back to edit this review after I got my thoughts in order, because I literally just finished the novel when I wrote it and I was still in the giddy 'yay!' bit of things which is why most of this is under spoilers.

I really liked this, even when I thought it was going to be a cold domineering gong carrying silly shou type novel. An impression that lasted the very first battle and then... more>> my expectations were shattered, and I abruptly became very invested. Before, I had though that it was an entertainment novel where a silly sweet shoutransmigrated to the insterstellar age and would battle 'be carried by gong' to the top of the new entertainment field, and technically, you could class this as that. Technically, a tugboat and a battleship can be classed together, too. The shou and gong very quickly grow beyond what your expectations are from the begining into fun, well rounded characters with interesting backgrounds. The side characters as well are super interesting and well developed and I was honestly deeply invested in all of their outcomes as well. I deeply appreciate that the extra's explored happy ending for them as well.

The battle scenarios and instances are well planned and really well written, turning fights and puzzles that could have been boring slogs to get through as fast as possible into thrilling battles and triumphs. No the novel is never going to win any thought provoking Literary awards, but for a really fun novel with a well done, long plot running under the theme show story, it's a great time. I'm absolutely going to reread this.

Spoiler

The shou, while being a little silly, takes all of the perseverance, will power, and bloody minded determination of a 'worked their way to s ranked' idol trainee into his new circumstances and spends the front third of the novel training like his life depends on it and researching anything and everything that he can get his hands on that might give him a leg up in the next battle. I really enjoyed that the author didn't do a fast paced training montage and gave a real sense of how hard Wu Jin was working at getting to his goals.

The gong rarely shows up in the first portion of the novel, only really popping up to teach the shou a combat move or refine his shooting technique and for the battles. And for the shou to squeal about how amazing Brother Wei is and how cool. There is a very real acknowledgement that the gong very easily could carry shou to victory, and it's only shou's determination to Git Gud and earn his debut himself, later his determination to be gong's equal that really stops him. Their interactions through the novel are amazing and I honestly giggled about the whole pasting test paper onto the shou bit.
