This novel is peak..... garbage!

Not gonna lie, reading this was a complete waste of time for me. I should've dropped this novel 10 chapters in, but, alas, someone told me that it gets good after around 30 chapters. It's been 50 chapters, and I'm still reading the same old garbage (I swear imma skin him if I find him).

Also, don't listen to all these bots out there yelling the best novel ever. Dog, that's probably their first novel ever. I hear people rambling about the amazing plot twists, which are... more>> all totally predictable. Like, the guy legit goes I killed this demon so surely nothing will appear during the actual evaluation exam or some shit, and guess what? Some demon guy from arc 6 comes out of nowhere and ruins the MC's day. Moreover, don't get me even started on the plot. This is the most generic academy story ever that offers nothing unique besides the fact that the MC is only strong against demons. The plot is so predictable that even a blind man can see it coming from a mile away. All the characters are also one-dimensional cutouts with no purpose other than to add to the plot. Like this Mateo dude who hates nobles and then just has a complete 180 after shaking hands with Ian (the original brain-dead NPC) and forgives them. Then, there are the characters that appear once and never come back again, such as Kaya's main character and Amy. At this point, why introduce them? The author felt the need to spend half a chapter writing about this s*upid maid just to convey the fact that Kaya fell head over heels for the main character after meeting him or something. There is no character development throughout the story, all the heroines are brain-dead NPCs who fall in love with the MC for no reason.

Take Luce, for example, she's been closed off all her life and then just randomly opens her heart at the MC after seeing him train hard? Like wtf girl? A similar analogy would be like an introvert falling in love at a girl jogging across the street at first sight and then strikes up a conversation and invites them into his home.

Not to mention the fights. After the MC's "hard training, " he straight up just one-shots all the demons by freezing them or something. Like, the exact same thing repeated for every single boss fight. He instantly kills the first boss, freezes the 2nd guy in his s*upid world or something where his strength conveniently depends on his imagination, and then freezes this Vera summoner person and all of her goons instantly. For the love of God, can this guy do anything else besides just frost explosion and instant killing all the enemies? There are also a sh*t ton of plot holes such as Kaya thinking that she can tail a archmage or something without being spotted. Then, there's Luce wondering who Grueg is after being saved by him. Even an idiot would have made the connection that Grueg is probably Issac.

This story overall is just so sh*t that I feel so scammed. I was promised that it would get better, but I ended up reading the same garbage (also not to mention that the MC legit only knows frost explosion and some other random spells that get pulled out of nowhere in the middle of battle).

Anyways, I'm done with my rant. If you are brain-dead or just some autistic 5-year-old, feel free to read this dumpster fire. In my honest opinion, this novel is so atrociously written that it couldn’t clear a bar set by the bottom-of-the-barrel isekai webnovels (An example would be Genius Flasher, tho not on a masterpiece level, the characters at least have some emotions, development, and personality).

I'm giving this novel a 1 to balance out all the undeserved 5-star ratings. <<less

Don't Be Discouraged By The Title

since I'm the translator, this review might be a little biased.

If you loved 'Flash Genius' or 'Academy's Second Seat', you will probably love this novel too.

This novel is the story about our hardcore gamer protagonist who is thrust into the game as a below par third rate extra.

This is the story of him surviving in this game.

It's a well written novel, with fleshed out world and fleshed out characters.

The novel may have an interesting premise, but it's pretty obvious how juvenile things become after a few 10 chapters or so. From Cheating to straight up Mind Reading, everyone in the story quickly becomes NPCs towards the true protagonist. Even the supposed story protagonist is rarely seen and the waifus are quickly swept off their feet in 2 chapters or less just from how cool the true protagonist is. The zero to hero is fairly misleading if you expected something fleshed out thanks to the cheating, and the love... more>> interests are written one dimensionally with the misunderstandings serving to exacerbate the writing even more so, at best being comedic relief. Unfortunately, this novel is nothing special from the many other power tripping novels out there, read it if you enjoy those types of novels all the same for a fix. <<less

How this novel is so popular and has such a high rating is beyond me. Starts out with how this character is soo weak yet proceeds to basically 1 shot any demon on hell difficulty because OP fantasy. He gets rewarded tier 1 items the best tiered items in the game basically straight away because OP fantasy. And even in his 'weakend form' after hardly any chapters he can now cast tier 4-5 magic which is basically the top of his grade becauses you guessed it, OP fantasy. Oh and... more>> the misunderstood troupe lord all mighty the most annoying troupe ever used is here. The bullsh*t in this novel is so ridiculous just make him an OP character from the get go as that's clearly what the author wanted instead of the im so weak but not weak and misunderstood crap. Its well written yes but come on this tr*sh is so generic it hurts my eyes so many better novels out their. <<less

On the tldr summary, I think you can enjoy the novel IF you are a fan of the Academy genre, and are willing to brush off the countless problems that plague inside, if you're curious you can read below. Personally, I liked the novel, due to me being a fan of the Academy genre, especially where they reincarnate into the story/game the MC tried. The general story was interesting enough for me to not drop right away. However, this does not change the fact that this is one of the... more>> worst novels I have ever tried.

Don't get fooled by all the 5 star revs which even claimed "a veteran on this site would be pleasantly surprised at its quality". Well I was surprised, at how garbage it was. The reviewer also only had 6 reviews... not even a 100. Like fk, don't trick people like me and raise their hopes up.

There are so many problems with this novel that I can't even list them all if I wanted to, as I literally can not remember them all. But if I were to name the main problem, it'd be the pacing. The pacing is so fast that something BIG happens every few days, and the timeline during this makes zero sense. There is zero logic here. You go from class entrance exams to see where you get placed, midterms, then into the end of semester exams in the span of 2 or 3 weeks. Not to mention all the other milestone events that happened... yet between all this everyone, especially side characters who for most seem to have the "lazy" tag like some 2d hard defined noble antagonists, get stronger despite doing zero training.

Speaking of strength, the whole stat system make so little sense that the novel would've been many times better to just have no stat system at all. So many stats, and so many unnecessary stats and skills listed, it becomes a filler buff. The level aspect especially makes the least sense, as the level has no direct correlation towards anything. It tries to plot armor it with claiming "but you'd get buffs/nerfs depending on what level they are!" And even later on saying "1 level difference at high levels is game changing!" Together with many equally as contradicting statements like "I possibly wouldn't be able to beat them even with the level 10 difference! (Despite being in those such high levels) " and especially the earlier first claim that the author literally stated levels do jack sht...

In reality, it's only the stats/skills that do something. The rank grading also means nothing as every character, can easily use magic star grades far higher than their capabilites. The grades are also split to 1 to 9 star, with 8 star being defined as capability to destroying a country, and 9 star being capability to destroying the world, yet we see every somewhat important character easily doing 8 star magic or says will have capability to by the second semester or year. We also see all thr professors have the capability to use this so called "rare" magic. Oh boy, the amount of countries that must be wiped and founded on a daily basis must be insane.

The magic is also limited to elements. The systrm lists all known skills and learnable skills. Yet each element somehow only has 5-6 skills, as that is the limit of the authors creativity. Some star levels are also directly skipped due to this. Skills are also not learned from practice of the skill, such as am incantation, but simply a stat or skill level requirement (which often is based off a stat) and boom you automatically know thr said skill.

There is also a stat system of buffs, where you have a skill rating between combat of vs certain species, and with MC maxing the Demon one, he gets extreme buffs. Yet no one in the world knows about this type of hidden stat skill system when it repeatedly states that everything the stat system lists is basically standardized. Like stated earlier, if they just got rid of the whole stat system, and replaced it with a unique mechanic such as a demon slayer lineage bloodline as the plot armor reasoning, this novel could've been so much better.

The original MC (of the game he got reincarnated into) also makes little to no sense. With how black magic directly correlates to Demons, somehow light magic, which no one has but the original MC in this world, is somehow not correlated to a heavenly being or even recorded that light magic counters demons... He is also strong and pathetic at the same time (faints every single boss fight), to emphasize how useless he is compared to the real MC who saves him unknowingly (to original mc) each time. All the demons are trying to kill him due to the light attribute, and he has zero fkn emotions.

The somewhat cheesy romance I thought would be okay, but that was until we met the main Heroine, who the MC repeatedly emphasized was his favorite Heroine. She even got her own artwork! And she... turned out to have the mind of a 3 year old child!!! She is the definition of every low budget jpn harem novel yet the MC fkn loves her!?!?@?#@ Every conversation she goes "shirorororo" "hwahahahah" "nico nico smile smile". Again... she has the brain of a little kid! And it is the most fake braindead 2D cardboard cutout character!!!!!!! IM LOSING MY SANITY!!! They shouldve made Kaya main Heroine (first introduced FL), at least they had a little bit of brain and didn't feel like the most unrealistic fake character ever. Even the #1 seat Luce would've been better.

Speaking of characters... there are plenty enough of characters that are introduced and forgotten later after their only purpose in the story was achieved, such as the original mc's childhood friend who was never mentioned again after becoming friends with the actual MC. Lots of characters also have hard cliche trope settings. Like the before mentioned antagonist arrogant noble, "righteous" rebellious commoner, dumb fk main heroine, righteous original MC, cold detached professor, et cetera. Almost no one has development, and if they do, it's typically a sudden 180 personality change, like the righteous rebellious commoner being reformed.

Another big problem of this novel is that the whole arc structure is literally listed down like the author couldn't hold it in and wanted to share everything. During one of the chaps it literally became an info dump session of the whole plot where the MC started listing all the future plot events. Arc 1 ep 1, arc 2 ep 2, arc 3 ep 3, wait this was suppossed to be a arc 6 ep 9! This made all future plot lose the little suspense it had left (especially as MC is very op broken vs the demons), as you already essentially know the whole main plot and events. And like I said way before, the pacing is way too fast with zero reality on the timeline. You literally go from one arc ep event right away into the next arc ep event with zero downtime between, and each being literal day (s) between each other.

There are so many plot holes in the story plot that I can't even list them as almost every chap had one!!! But one of the biggest story plotholes is why does the MC do nothing to that student council president who is behind a lot of these events?! He even bought a cloak of disguise, it can also be as easy as just secretely sending a letter to one of the professors to inform them of the situation like his class professor who was stated to be the main person that goes against her. The world background has many holes too... but again there's too many too list...

I'm tired of yapping so that's all I'm going to write, but let me tell you, what I've listed is ONLY A FKN PART of the all the problems!! I'm honestly surprised I was even able to read and somewhat enjoy the novel. This is of course by brushing off all the problems... One of the reasons that got me to stay to was the translation site which had like no ads and amazing next chap click flow. But...

The main reason I also dropped the novel is due to the translator making it so you need to now send your email to get access to the site. Due to this I dropped right away as the novel is nowhere good enough for me to send information and make an account on a site I may never go to again unless for another novel.

The fast pacing amazes me that the chapter count is over 100. There must've been so much filler to drag on the novel later on unless there are dozens of acts and higher amount of episodes as I was already at the end of act 3 when dropping at c29 <<less

The concept was great but everything else is subpar. Power scaling is irrelevant to the level, which is too convenient for the plot. The timeline is also unrealistic, the series of events only have a few days apart which hardly explain the drastic changes frome the OG Characters. The characters act like those silly anime waifus or a 3rd rate villain, it's a shame since they were mostly introduced as cool and calm. This feels like a bad parody of One Punch Man, One Frost Explosion Man. This is just... more>> worse since it's under the guise of a serious novel. <<less

Plain, literally got nothing interesting to offer.

It shares the same exact issue with others of the same premise. The stuff only happens in the author's head, you can't relate to that.

Characters, stats, items, nothing to wrap them all nicely together, we know they're all made up, fricking fairy shit, they're out there just as author's delusion, and the so-called writing is just vomiting it out. That wasn't added value but just random graffiti.

No one could appreciate something that only you can understand, the very difference between writing an actual story... more>> and analogically vomiting a story.

Personally, I found this yet another story that shouldn't be made past synopsis. <<less

Beneath the "interesting" title, lies a decent story. At least it seems to be moving away a bit from the typical plot structure into something a bit more unique. I would say if your a veteran of reading novels on this site, you will be pleasantly surprised by its quality.

If your uncertain if you really want to bother reading this story I would suggest reading to the end of chapter 2 and you should get a sense of if this story is good or not.

Mediocre story turned awful by a wannabe comedian translator who can't stop himself from inserting unfunny reddit memes in nearly every chapter.

I wouldn't have dropped it if it had a different translator because my standards aren't high but there's honestly not much to like here, I like the fairy tale inspirations even if they're just shallow references and that's about it. The side characters are flat and boring, 2 of the 3 (so far) love interests are just kind of annoying, the main character is flat and boring, the magic... more>> system is as boring as they get, the battles are boring, the villains are just generic evil demons, the misunderstandings are annoying, the weak to strong aspect is not nearly as important as you'd think because the MC is always either exactly as strong as he needs to be or completely dominating so he never feels weak, and all his growth amounts to is training off screen or leveling up then being able to throw bigger spells. Out of all the series out there that are ruined by their translator, this is probably one of the least tragic ones, not much was lost.

Dorothy is cute though. <<less

Normally I wouldn't rank this story yet, but it's one of the best I've read this year. Even if it gets worse later, the first 1/3 of the book which has been TLed so far deserves 4.5/5 (I rounded it up).

Definitely one of the best Korean novels. Very well written. The plot and its progression, the setting, the characters, the mysteries, the relationships, the comedy, everything is good.

It's very pleasant to read. It's one of those where you can't help but keep reading. Of course, there are some problems, but... more>> every novel is bound to have some, and this one is good enough to make you willing to ignore them.. The ones here are relatively minor, or at least don't get in the way of reading.

Oh, and the translators are doing a good job, both in terms of translating/explaining references and in terms of the final text.

I am heavily anticipating future chapters, but I will probably wait for them to pile up in order to read them in batches (of arcs and miniarcs). <<less

I almost always write negative reviews on the novels here, but I find this novel way more enjoyable than the other stories of similar genre.

Compared to "I became a flashing genius at the magic academy" or "The extra's academy survival guide", this story feels a bit less ?overcliched?

Don't misunderstand. "The academy's weakest became a demon-limited hunter" is practically a walking cliche, but it just doesn't feel so overwhelming with what it has to offer (in a good way).

There are no over the top "misunderstandings" between the MC and side characters... more>> or female leads. The main character feels and acts more like a main character. He also uses his skills well, without me questioning much why not just to that or this during fighgts. I even went as far as to read another 280 MTL'd chapters, because the story was so simple and fun.

It is also not annoying to read. What I mean by that is the MC isn't forced into some scenarios like in the other 2 examples I mentioned before. MC gets involved because he wants to and not because author or some random characters "dragged" him into it. It feels like the story revolves around the MC and not the other way around, which is good.

I also like how he progresses and how he gets stronger.

Though my small complaint is that some of the "plot twists" are meh and feel kinda off for some reason.

Read it a month ago so I might misremember some stuff.

Still a 5/5 because I don't regret spending my time reading it. <<less

this is my first ever review and I’m writing this on my iPad which seems to be causing some problems with the interface but anyways, about the novel. I had a lot of problems with it but I’ll give it a three star at best. The interface is messed up so I’m seeing that I give it 4 and a half stars and I can’t change it.

The premise is interesting like a lot of these isekai novels but like a lot of times, its execution could use a little more... more>> work. I’m not saying this one is bad per say, just mediocre. Despite this, I found it enjoyable to read. How can I say this? It’s generic, you expect it and you can take your mind off while reading

Now to the problems. The biggest glaring problem would be the writing. The author simply isn’t good at writing dialogue and I believe he knows this himself since he’ll try his best to avoid having characters talk at all cost. The ‘Player’ character, not the MC, is a very integral part of the story and yet MC has literally only heard this man talk twice. I noticed the Author forgot MC had already heard his voice so he put in a scene where the MC’s like “Oh so that’s what his voice sounds like” when MC has already heard his voice before. When I say he’ll avoid dialogue, I mean he’ll do the bare minimum and bare minimum is awkward, clunky and short. The lack of character interaction leads to flat characters but you gotta develop the characters so character development is forced in through POVs of other characters. I’m looking at you Luce.

It is implied that Luce is falling in love with MC by one of the mind-reading characters when she literally has not spoken to him a single time. Also, there are already three mind reading characters including MC. That’s too many Charles Xaviers in a single novel.

Next problem, power scaling. Now this world is set to “Hell” mode difficulty, thing is it’s breezy mode for the MC regardless. This is because of the gimmick of the novel/ability of the MC which super buffs him by a 100 levels when he faces demons. The max level is level 200 btw and the highest tier spells are 9* spells. During the earlier chapters, I was given the impression that only gods were able to use 9* spells as MC tells us that the highest tier spell that end-game characters were able to cast were 8* star spells and the only 9* spell we were told about was one that’d literally destroy the world. So what’s the problem?

MC literally just believed hard enough and became max level and started casting 9* spells but it was nowhere near planet buster level, like just make it a 8* spell so that I complain less. I didn’t mind the power scaling before, I still thought it wasn’t thought out too well but I let it go though this is a bit too much so early into the novel. Happens around chapter 30 btw where MC is still in the first semester of the first school year. Can’t imagine how it’ll run a full University course

Obviously pacing will be a problem if the power scaling is wack so I won’t go into it. Regardless I found it a fun read despite everything I said previous. The author is clearly inexperienced when it comes to writing and I wish him all the best. I found some of his ideas really thoughtful like how he explains why ice magic can’t just freeze a person from the inside out. Alright, that’s it. The review’s a little messy but that’s how my thoughts are. <<less

A story about guy named isaac who is actually a transmigrator. MC I forgot his Korean name (i always forgot east asian name to be fair) . He transmigrated into the game as an extra. His hobby in real life was to play this game in which he transmigrated into.

Ian, he literally faint in the middle of fighting. He is a good guy plus his childhood friend is one of the best girl. I have read from raws so some information can be changed.

Now pros of this novel and why u should read it.

1 It has harem. But I can't say the ending will be harem because you know Korean author.

2 It has character development of MC and heroine

3 Story has some dark theme and every fight is fun to read. Fight with demon would seem like it is easy because ofc MC has designed himself to kill demons. One of the fight is very competitive too.

4 Some boss fights have tension that will make you crave for more.

9 Translation is done by genesis. You should be assured of translation quality and it would be great novel.

10 It is based on game world so ofc you would have hidden boss and if you have played rpg and like rpg you should read this novel.

1 One heroine eg - kaya appears very less after arc

2 MC is avoiding FMC aggression he wanted to be in relationship after he kill the final boss. But I personally think having something to protect makes you stronger.

I have read the mtl and I think this novel is a good enough to read.

Like almost all others korean novel, It's started with misunderstanding that everybody think the MC is very strong but the reality is he just have a buff against demon.

His cheat (buff against demon) is very broken tbh, to the point he can defeat strong enemies very easily.

... more>> Story-wise: I have a complaint that there is a cycle that the previous girl sometimes became forgotten over the newer girl.

And I think the author forgot the MC is from another world and just inexperienced human, since the MC always act like a badass even in difficult situation. I mean, is ordinary person, even with all the future/story knowledge, can act and think very calm against difficult enemies (ex. Demon) in his first experience? I think not.

a stable junk food novel (like most novels here) with stable and consistent writing, set in an Academy setting.

Our main character is a weak student, and when the system gave him a chance, he took it. He is strong against the demons but weak against everyone else.

There are 3-4 heroines and are developed slowly with their own backgrounds and story. Yes, it is a Harem. (There is a Yandere too...)

In conclusion, it is a well-written story. If you want a zenith of medium akin to RI or LOTM, then... more>> you have come to the wrong place. But if you want to read something quick and nice, give this a chance and you won't regret it.

INTRODUCTION

Writing this review after I have completed the main story (345 chapters). May update this review after completing the rest of the side stories (Some are even 18+).

Don't get fooled by it's generic title and synopsis. This novel is much more than that. Of course, the start will be generic where you possess a 3rd rate loser and villain from the game you used to play, and you will also be provided a status window. Not to mention how he typed a cheat code initially to get 100 stat points... more>> before getting transmigrated. That cheat code, where you get 100 stat points at the start, becomes the foundation of our MC. There exists a power-up whenever you face certain enemies. In this case, MC donates all his stat point against demons, which means whenever he faces demons, he will become extremely OP. That's how the title makes sense.

PROS OF THE NOVEL

The reason I say this novel is much more than it's generic title is because author didn't leave much loose ends as to how he came to this game world. Everything that is happening from possessing a 3rd rate loser's body to having a status window is all there for a reason. Can't say much more than that without getting spoiled.

There exists other 3rd rate villains, but author have given them major character developments and I'm happy to see that.

Even though MC becomes OP when facing demons, he is extremely weak against other beings since he never applied any stat points in that category. So, his only option is to train harder and harder. Even if he does get EXP for defeating demons, it's still not enough to catch up with others. So yes, he actually has to train hard to get stronger.

Harem is another fun aspect of this novel. I even dare to say the novel won't be half as good without the romance part. You have a yandere, a shy girl which later gets another personality, another girl who controls the harem to prevent any in-house fighting, another shy girl with low self-esteem. Then, there is the best girl called Dorothy which is one of the best Heroines I have seen in a novel. Girls intruding in MC's private life may initially annoy y'all, but I suggest to keep reading since they are all very interesting.

MC is also not naive and knows that all the girls like him through his special skill. He doesn't hesitate to admit that he likes all of them and will form a harem. He refrains from any physical relationship until he reaches his goal, but once all his goals are achieved, he won't hold back from physical relationships (it's in side stories).

Now that I have highlighted the positive aspect, there are some things which I didn't like about this novel.

CONS OF THE NOVEL

Even though the novel is short and author doesn't keep dragging on things, he sacrifices some trivial things in the process. For example:

    1. MC says he wants to do sword training with a certain person. Author only writes as far as only meeting with that person and there aren't any mention of sword training nor any detailed description of how he trained. Only during the battle against demons does the author bring it up again and implies his skill improved when he trained when he never made a chapter on that.
    1. Another important example which will you see in the beginning is about the existence of "secret shop" which only MC knows. Author simply mentions "bought from secret shop" without even explaining what it is. But I have no idea why he chose to reveal who the shopkeeper is and where it's located in the academy before the final arc instead of revealing it in the beginning of the novel.
    1. Another example where MC casually has a magic tool, but author simply left out the part about when he purchased it.
Power scaling is broken in this novel. Normally, when you are in an academy setting, the instructor is supposed to be much stronger than students, but it's the opposite case here. For example, MC's professor at the beginning was something like level 90, but the strongest first year is at level 110. Not to mention how even the headmistress is of not much help. Of course, Author clarifies in the beginning that the academy selects professors based on their teaching aptitude rather than their power. But I think he could have done better job here.

I said I liked how the author gave the 3rd rate villains a character development. But, there should be a limit as to how far you can glaze a character. Idk what the author was thinking, but it's like the more praise he received, more he began fan service for that one particular character. I didn't dislike his development, but in one chapter, it got ridiculous to the point about how he withstood against a character much much stronger than him which even the heroines couldn't beat. That level of fan servicing is just absurd. Other than that one complaint in that one chapter, everything else about the character is likeable.

Not much interaction between the protagonist of the game and MC. In other game or novel transmigration novels, you will see MC getting close to the protagonist, but not here. The game protagonist is actually weak nobody who is only in the spotlight due to the light element which he posses and is one of the key to saving the world and yes, he also gets stronger but the difference between him and the MC is significant. They will only become friends towards the end of the novel.

This is a bit of nitpicking, but the final arc was a bit rushed for my liking. Author clearly focused more how the side characters are dealing with the side bosses rather than MC and the main enemy. It was good, but author could have also focused a bit more on the main fight.

CONCLUSION

I will end my review here. Despite the cons, I wholeheartedly recommend the novel to anyone who is fan of transmigration + status window + harems. In this game transmigration genre, this is one of the best I have read. <<less

Another academy game power fantasy. Entertaining but shallow. If you like the hyper conservative Korean romance where people ask permission to so affection, this is the drama for you.

Personally, I think the story is a decent time waster, but pretty generic. For example, it’s another: “I know everything in the plot so I get cheat items and win every encounter.” Add in the genre staple fillers and silly drama, and boom.

Well written, but pretty shallow. 3/5.

I don't think anything in this story absolutely jumps out as phenomenal, but it's extremely competent and intriguing. It combines all the fiction junk food you want into an extremely palatable read.

You have the harem, which is filled with very interesting girls with diverse personalities that keep the story interesting.

You have the typical "video game system power up" isekai, which is handled perfectly fine- though I sincerely question the people who "made" the game letting one stat turn you into a demigod against basically the only enemy that matters, it's... more>> certainly not unbelievable coming from a guy who leveled swimming in the original Deus Ex.

Finally, and this is where I think there's definitely some distance between this and its contemporaries, you have the intrigue of the secret identity. The trope that carried american comics for decades is here and it's excellent.

The author clearly knows the ins and outs of the genres he's writing and it shows. The story only gets more and more interesting the more goes on- though admittedly there's some volatility where the conclusion of each of the heroine's ultimate "arcs" is far more engaging than the refractory periods where characters just need to live their lives.

So overall, I don't think you can really do much better than this when it comes to the isekai-video game-magical school genere. A niche to be sure, but it's got contemporaries that are professionally published that are still enjoyable- and this story is definitely at least as good. Easily worth the shot. <<less

The story is not "amazing" kind of amazing, but it is damn good with good pacing and it serves well as entertainment, deserves a 4 or a 4.5 if I can do that here.

Story is about some dude who got isekai'd and dumped stat points into a gimmick that gives him a stat buff when fighting demons. What I like a lot about the MC is that he is hardworking despite him basically being a cheat character against demons. The title was cliche at first and the first few chapters... more>> were eh at best, well for me anyways, its a good novel to past time with.

Unlike the other harems I have read there arent any over the top stuff, especially with misunderstandings because the MC actually explains properly like in the latest chap as of writing this review. The heroines are also given actual personalities with their own goals. Personally I kind of like how they did the romance in this novel.

Overall since I suck at making reviews (who could have guessed) I guess I can dumb it down by saying that overall the story has good pacing, well done harem compared to some other novels, and heroines with actual personalities.

And let the evaluation duel begin! I've been following this novel since it started being translated on the original site, and I'm still on board up to the current chapters. So, I reckon I have a bit of authority to dish out my review.

Rating: A+, or in ranting terms (4.5 with the potential to be a full 4.8, unless it's not your cup of tea).

Let's kick things off with a spoiler-free summary. First off, the main stage is set in a world where the MC got transmigrated into the game... more>> world he used to play. Now, if it were that simple, I could label it as a cliché, but no, he got transmigrated into the infernal mode. What sets it apart from other novels? Well, first, the transmigration is genuinely an intriguing mystery because the MC doesn't choose the character, and the difficulty is truly infernal. Many other novels have a similar setup, but the problem is they don't develop the infernal scenario properly. The MC doesn't become overpowered out of the blue and quickly; on the contrary, he's super weak compared to everything, even in the current chapters. But, as the synopsis says, he can become extremely OP when facing a demon. Still, the MC doesn't stop training. Second, harem and romance – two things that might make many raise an eyebrow. But let me tell you, comrades, it's not what it seems. The MC has no intention of having a romance or harem; he's completely focused on his goal of achieving the best possible ending. And no, he's not dense; he knows the girls like him, but he knows his priorities. Moreover, the girls aren't simple cardboard cutouts; they have distinctive and captivating personalities. Even for someone like me who isn't a fan of harems, I'd be bummed if it wasn't a harem because I'd want them all to be happy in the end. There's also a romantic development, but it's subtle and not forced. The MC is very human, meaning he's not just a puppet fulfilling the author's wishes. But what intrigued me the most was the world development and the story behind the MC's body. No spoilers here, but I must say it's rarely seen, as authors often tend to simply ignore the pasts of bodies.

Now, onto the positive and negative points.

This one's interesting – we know the MC's end goal, but we don't know what he'll go through or what he'll do to reach it, or how things will unfold. In other words, it's not predictable. Although you can still make some assumptions, it means you're always excited to find out what the heck will happen and what the MC and his companions, allies, and enemies will do.

It might sound like a joke, but when you read a lot of novels, these characteristics become quite valued. It gives a more realistic and impartial view of things and doesn't leave a bad feeling in the stomach. (Yes, I've been traumatized by CN and KN.)

The MC doesn't have a very thick plot armor; in fact, there's almost none since much of what he does has already been explained or hinted at. Plus, he faces quite realistic situations, especially regarding his identity.

MC's Personality:

Although there's good development, the MC is not very realistic, and some of his reactions are quite atypical. This is due to one of his stats, but still, it was a missed opportunity for more development.

Truth be told, this is more of a personal desire than a flaw. While these antagonists make sense to exist, it takes away some excitement due to how OP the MC gets when fighting them. It would be much more interesting if there were antagonists from different races, as it would show the duality of the MC's strength more explicitly. But it would be a bit odd for someone to attack the best school in the world – in other words, it would be suicidal or someone very strong, so the MC couldn't handle it. Ironically, the novel being very logical ends up making it a failure.
