Qiao Yan comes from a privileged background and has had a successful career. The only trouble he faced was his family’s pressure to get married. After being introduced to the young master of the Zhuang family, they hit it off immediately.

Considering he was nearly seven years older than the other, Qiao Yan treated Zhuang Ye like a younger brother, upholding the principles of respect and tolerance when they were together.

In a coffee shop, Zhuang Ye, brimming with youthfulness, turned his eyes and said, “Mr. Qiao, let’s make a deal; whoever falls in love first loses.”

Qiao Yan responded calmly, “Mr. Zhuang, you can rest assured that managing love is troublesome for me; I despise trouble in my life.” Superficial emotions from a marriage agreement were normal.

At their engagement celebration, Zhuang Ye gazed at him with determination and declared,”I will protect you.” Qiao Yan glanced at the bedding strewn on the floor, unfazed by the scene. After all, it wasn’t unusual for an Alpha to get a bit wild after a few drinks.

During an adventurous outing, Zhuang Ye answered the phone without hesitation and said, “I will come pick you up,” reminding Omega to rest in an intimate manner.

Qiao Yan, in front of his subordinates, confidently thinks, “Young people are really full of vitality.” It’s normal to meet up with friends who have a good relationship.

However, in the dim light, the Alpha’s scent grew increasingly close. He leaned against his neck and softly called out, “Gege.”

The intertwining of pheromones, lips touching, left Qiao Yan dazed and thinking, “This… is not quite normal.”

Later, Qiao Yan teased him, “Didn’t you say you wouldn’t fall in love?”

Zhuang Ye, feeling embarrassed, scratches his head, “I give up.”

And the omega, in a calm manner, loosened his tie slightly, his breath hot but firm. “Mark me; don’t you understand yet?”

[The little dog has liked you for a long time, and the little dog firmly believes that its love is no less than anyone else’s!]

A very calm and serene love story.

Our MC is an extremely excellent and high achieving Omega who is several years older than the ML. Unfortunately this temperament was likely largely forced by circumstance, as his father died in an accident when he was very young and his mother fell into depression out of grief. Saddled with another younger brother to take care of, the MC and his grandfather had to take on the entire burden of the family business themselves. Thanks to that, he had little time and energy to... more>> spend on emotional matters and has little knowledge or understanding of emotions.

Our ML is younger and often shows signs of being a chunni, with the vitality of youth. In a stark turn of events from the beginning chapters where it seemed from the MC's perspective that both of them were just following along an arranged marriage by the families, we find out that the ML actually fell in love at first sight with the MC many years ago. Ever since then, he's been working obsessively to chase after his footsteps and put a lot of effort into the marriage. Fortunately the story wasn't mostly from his perspective bc I feel like it would have felt very despairing and helpless.

We follow small excerpts of the daily life of the two after marriage, as the MC's view of the ML gradually evolves from a marriage partner to a younger brother to a friend and eventually senses that he feels a little differently about him. I'll be honest, I was surprised when we get the revelation that the MC has good feelings towards the ML from a phone call with his friend, since I did not really sense any vibes of love from the MC previously. Our MC treats their relationship with sincerity and respect, and the two of them get together quite quickly and naturally. We get some mild dog food after they get together, and in the extras they have a child.

The author avoids mentioning much about physical intimacy at all, with even the estrus period largely glossed over. The writing style can also sometimes feel disjointed, and I would occasionally go back to a previous chapter to make sure I hadn't missed anything. Not sure if that vibe was on purpose.

Overall a sweet but mild story of an unrequited love slowly coming true. <<less

I love it!!!

It's slow burn and slice of life so it's a bit different from what I usually read.

I was craving for something wholesome and it delivered. All of them are green flags! Even the friends.

... more>> The only thing it lacks is the pacing cause one minute I was reading a cliff hanger then boom! Another scene that doesn't relate to the previous page.

Also, Qiao Yan's confession scene was a bit lackluster to me compared to Zhuang Ye's.

If the author focuses on improving that and some of the anti-climatic scenes I would've given it a 5 star rating.

Overall, I recommend it to anyone looking for a wholesome unproblematic love story. <<less

Such a sweet, relaxed story. The MC is a bit older and views the ML (his contracted spouse) as a younger brother. Their romance follows a slow trajectory that is satisfying in its development. We weren't let into the deep thoughts of these characters - at least not as much as in other novels. It was more of a 'find out as it goes' novel. But, regardless, I enjoyed it for that reason. No hard work required.

Thanks to the author as well as AzilaTL for the translation.
