1.
Fang Zhiran’s favorite voice actor is finally having a fan meeting. However, he missed the ticket rush because he was attending an academic conference. Fang Zhiran flew into a rage, pounding his head on the ground and jumping around. His strict senior PhD mentor, Ji Xingchuan, watched him coolly until he finished screaming, then pulled him into a small classroom. Ji Xingchuan switched to a clear, magnetic voice: “What kind of voice do you like? Choose one.” Fang Zhiran’s hand trembled, and his thick thesis fell to the ground with a thud.

2.
The voice acting master “Winter” has countless works but never shows his face. Behind the scenes, he is a PhD student at University A. This year, his advisor went abroad and asked him to mentor the first-year graduate student Fang Zhiran. One day after they met, Ji Xingchuan took out his phone and kept comparing it—this junior, he looks a bit like that cosplayer who can play both boys and girls.

3.
After they got together, one night, Fang Zhiran was blindfolded and pinned down on the sofa by Ji Xingchuan. “Who are you being fierce to?” This was the voice of a dominant older male. “Why are you trembling? Sit properly.” This was the voice of a cold young man. “Ranran, taking photos with fans is fine, but no hugging.” This was the voice of a yandere boy. “Do I need to lock you up to make you behave?” Fang Zhiran: … Help!

Little Theater

① At a comic convention, where famous cosplayers, voice actors, and authors gathered, three people who had quarreled fiercely in the lab the day before found themselves face to face. Fang Zhiran: What? Are we having a group meeting here?

② A child went to a comic convention. The accompanying parent pointed to a cosplayer in light makeup at the guest seat and said, “If someone like that ever becomes successful, I’ll call you Dad.” A few days later, in the global physics competition, University A’s team won first place, and that cosplayer was among them. Child: What’s Dad’s dad called?

Ji Xingchuan vs. Fang Zhiran
Fake serious but genuinely steady and slightly mischievous’s top vs. Sweet and naive little bunny who becomes a violent wild rose when provoked’s bottom

i was searching for voice-con danmei and stumbled upon this so I decided to give it a read, and it did not disappoint. I've personally never read a voice actor x cosplayer novel so I think it was a really refreshing pairing!

as mentioned in the description, this is a sweet and funny novel about the daily life of two phd students who happen to be a voice actor and cosplayer in private, nothing too heavy. It makes for an enjoyable light read that can be completed within a day since... more>> it's quite short. <<less

Very fun and cute read. Honestly the moments between the MC and ML gives off a very comedic feel despite them doting on each other quite often haha. Really like how both of them changed a little in terms of their character after getting together. Feels like they are slowly progessing and improving themselves.

Also, I love how their 2D identity gets exposed hahaha. Especially the Guo team meeting at the event. Super funny I literally laughed non stop.

Importantly is the ML is superrrrrrrrr flirty. He's like a natural flirt. I... more>> cannot even. He literally just seduced the MC into becoming his bf hahahahahhaa. They are both vvv smooth, though the ML is way more smooth. The smexy scenes were also vvvv nice. Overall, I definitely recommend this novel!! Super cute and funny. <<less

Such a fun novel, with unique character settings and a very humorous setup between a second year physics PHD student moonlighting as a voice actor, and a voice-con first year grad student under the same advisor, with a cosplaying side gig. There's a 4 year age gap (MC 21 and ML 25) and the ML technically is in a position of power as the MC's senior, but the two of them mostly just interact as equals.

Both main characters have interesting personalities, and I especially liked how the "cold" ML actually... more>> turned out to be quite teasing and straightforward with a surprisingly high EQ. He's not some unfeeling block of ice, and I laughed so hard to all his reactions to MC's cosplaying and (very much unintentional) flirting. The MC is a bit oblivious, but not unbelievably so, and he's able to catch on when the facts are laid out in front of him.

The writing style is concise and the plot moves quickly, without dragging any particular plot point on for too long. My only minor issue was with the slightly excessive amount of text conversations and fan comments in some chapters. I will say though that as the novel progressed, I did feel that it became better balanced between the real life interactions to the messaging/social media, or at least I didn't mind it as much.

Overall this is a lighthearted read, without anything too complex or emotional, but still very much enjoyable! The characters are relatable and three-dimensional, and their interactions made for some really hilarious moments of dramatic irony. I think I read this entire novel with a smile on my face. Would recommend! <<less

First impression of the novel was: it’s funny. The way the author wrote this is light and comedic. When I reached the middle, I got bored and had to drop. I eventually found it tiresome. I feel like the story jumps around a lot. It is funny, but just not my cup of tea. Recommended for those who like fun reads.

A really fun premise, and I love the plot twist of the identities the author sprinkled in for the Guo sect. However, some climaxes are written too flatly, like when Pan xu discovers the relationship etc, it's all just brushed over with a one liner. I think the story could've improved if the author placed the heavier emphasis on high points like this. Translation wise, it was readable but not the best. I could feel the choppiness of the translation, where the translator doesn't know how to convert a phrase... more>> to English and decides to just directly mtl. Overall a fun and humorous read though! <<less

Loved this story! I started it out of curiosity about the premise but am so glad I did. More than anything else I loved the humor. The author has a hilarious writing style that comes through in the translation, and I found myself cracking up on more than one occasion. Would highly recommend!

It was refreshing to begin with. I liked how the ML found out who MC was pretty quickly. That was refreshing. It's quite nice to see that it's straightforward and The MC, who lives in the 2D world, gives quite unique responses to his pursuit. I like how the MC is both good at academics and cosplaying. I just find that once the ML found out that he was a fan of his, it just got a bit boring. The ML continued his Chase by using his va persona... more>> online and that's where I got bored. I know this is a viable method to chase the MC considering The fact that the MC said he wasn't interested in people, but I think I really dislike online dating like this when especially The ML is aware of the MC in person. I understand why of course it had to be done. It's just boring to read in my opinion. I dropped it personally. But I think it's a very straightforward and sweet novel. If you don't think it's too boring. <<less
