Yu Qingze transmigrated to a world, where there are no women, only gers and men. He was rescued by a ger no one wants to marry because he couldn’t speak, has a scarred face, and a dull cinnabar mole between his brows indicating low fertility.

Yu Qingze, who has tasted the warmth of human affection in his previous life, did not dislike the other’s flaws at all: ancient people without vision, my wife is kind-hearted, ingenious, capable, and virtuous. There will be times when you will envy him in the future!

Relying on his professional cooking skills, Yu Qingze would make money, raise a family, have a few babies, and protect the people who he loves and who love himself. This is the most important reason for his rebirth.

I won't rate this novel yet. I have only reach 1/5 part of the story, so I can't judge it yet.

But I really like the first 30chapters so far.

Our MC Transported into Ancient and Different world all together. With his own body and even modern clothes. But no modern stuff whatsoever. No Golden fingers, etc.

... more>> But our MC was previously a Chef and know how to do Martial arts. He's Smart and Strong, but NOT OP!

He's very Good but no Saint. So he's pretty Likable!

While our ML was definitely NOT Ugly, just have scarred on his face. And mute from Past Trauma. But he's Physically Strong! The kind of Strong where he can push or pull heavy stuff. Unfortunately because his scarred face, he's has insecurity which is understandable.

Anyway our ML is still Likable so far!

And ML's family aka lil Bro and Grandpa, also absolutely Likable and Supportive family!

They help and still helping MC, and MC already think of them as his family! So it's Heartwarming between them.

Back to the plot, it's a Food p*rn Novel. It really can makes you hungry, and worst, the translator also like to put food pictures in between, so yeah, you gotta suffer from hunger! Lol don't read while on Diet or Fasting!

But beside cooking, MC also has knowledge how to make other future stuff that could help on farming, but from 30ish chapter so far, that scene was only shown One time, so I don't know if it would be shown again later.

Anyway, even without any Golden Finger, MC has his Brain and his Strength, and plus supported with such Good people around him, he's barely suffer except when Villains tried to bother him.

I wish the translation would continue. I pray the rest of the story is as Satisfying as the beginning! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Updated on 24 July 2023:

So far Absolutely Pleased!

Connection MC has with his Customers definitely help him from getting out trouble even when he never intentionally use them!

Also.... Yaaaaayyy the progress between MC and ML are Soooo Sweeeeettt!!!! 🥰🥰🥰

Updated at 11 January 2024:

Uuuuggghhh I just want to destroy the Villain in this arc so Badlyyy!!!!

Finished at 1st April 2024:

Would never expect there was intense moments, but I'm glad it still ended with Happy Ending.

I'm Pleased with th Extras too. The Extras was about the Luo Couple, I don't remember if I ever want it, but when I read it, I LOVE IT!

The last extra was about the Main CP's son, and it's Good!

All in All I LOVE THIS NOVEL SOOOOOOO MUCH FOREVER ETERNALLY AND BEYOND!!! <<less

This novel is good but a bit boring for me. Maybe because I dont binge read it so its hard to be invest into the story plot than other novels ive read. *Jus saying... im the type to read a novel finish in 2-3 days (max 5days), so if it takes longer due to watever reason I tend to get bored easily

But if you like reading slice of life, cooking and family, give this novel a try.

At first I really enjoyed this, but around chapter 140 I immediately started reading quickly, skipping several parts that I found less interesting.

The thing I don't like about this novel is ML's character, maybe because of his background and him being mute, but I don't like his dishonesty towards MC, always keeping things to himself. This is of course because of the era's background, that's why I usually don't really like it when Gong/Top transmigrates, because problems like this always arise (Shou's inferiority complex)

Apart from that, as long as... more>> I read I only saw two genders, namely men and ger. If so, isn't it the same as our world where there are only men and women? So I don't think they are a same-s*x couple, I think this is heterosexual, not yaoi or shounen ai at all. And not to mention the nonsense about gers being able to get pregnant, where is the uterus? In the butthole? Nonsense! <<less

The book is alright, pretty simple if you ask me, which is to be expected with a slice of life novel.

The plot is a little to slow for my liking but the book is generally well written.

I'd recommend you read it but without expectations foe the drama an angst in most transmigration novels

4 stars: Very conventional but also still good transmigrator's farming-and-cooking journey in a ger-world, complete with idyllic slice of life farming, copious cooking, and eventually running an eatery, and with success guaranteed due to the MC's modern knowledge of things like rice threshing beds and baby strollers and for some reason he knows how to design blueprints for them and have local villagers make them for sale, as well as his knowledge of different types of Chinese cuisine. There are many delicious food descriptions, of course, and everyone worships the... more>> MC for his cooking ability and business acumen. The translation by Hololo is great.

The story is mostly cooking, entrepreneurship, and business drama intercut with slice of life and slow-paced romance, and then suddenly one of the last arcs of the novel turns into Ancient Chinese Law & Order, a full-blown courtroom drama with long-foreshadowed and recurring s*um and villainous plots coming to a head complete with surprise witnesses, twists in the court case, scapegoats, betrayals, outside interference, and more. DUN DUN. This arc was actually enthralling enough to keep me furiously reading chapter after chapter because of all the twists and obstacles and cliffhangers and I needed to know the outcome—this is in stark contrast to me casually reading a few chapters here and there because slice of life is nice but not exactly compelling.

It gets SO slice of life-y sometimes that there are occasional whole chapters just summarizing weeks of how the MC taught his fellow villagers how to process ingredients, designed blueprints for something, planted seeds, checked on his businesses, then went home to cook dinner for everyone. It's not too brain-taxing but sometimes it's more boring than mellow. The last couple of arcs after Law & Order that ended the main story ranged from kind of boring side-character romance (boring because it was predictable and the side characters were so side character they had no personality beyond being side characters) to over-the-top melodramatic crazy crime instigated and resolved within like 3 chapters.

The ger-shou is mute due to psychological trauma yet has no trouble communicating extremely complex things to his family, the gong, friends, and coworkers via gesturing, which I had an increasingly hard time not rolling my eyes at. Situational stuff combined with intuition from knowing him well is entirely plausible, but basically after a certain point he might as well not be mute with the MC and most of the supporting cast because they can easily carry on extensive in-depth conversations. His muteness is only an issue when talking to strangers. There is no codified sign language in this world either, he's just gesturing with his hands. I get that the author probably didn't want to bog the story down with the realism of people constantly guessing what the mute shou meant, but on the other hand I still roll my eyes at the too-common trope of a character having a disability that's been carefully pared down to remove most of the inconvenience and actually disabling qualities.

Spoiler

And of course, as is usual with this kind of setup, eventually the shou miraculously recovers the use of his voice during a dramatic incident, although it's hoarse and he can't speak again afterward, and later there's Chinese traditional medical practices involved with helping him relearn how to speak (more on that subject further down). Mind you though, I kept expecting him to recover his voice the further into the story it was but that didn't happen until literally the last few chapters of the story.

[collapse]

The shou's face is scarred so he's "ugly" and much is made of this early on, but later in the story this detail disappears completely and his scarring is never mentioned again and nobody treats him differently for his appearance anymore. The same thing happens with his incredible physical strength: it's hugely emphasized in the beginning of the story, but later on he's treated and also sometimes acts more like a stereotypical "weak/delicate" shou.

The MC is respectful of the shou and observant, and they do actually communicate openly with each other for the most part. I'd say they're actually one of the healthier and more mature couples in ger-romance, considering how messed up the gender dynamics and romance in general can be in the genre—despite typical tropes like the gong secretly following the shou to the doctor and eavesdropping out of "concern" for him and occasionally withholding information from him for the same reason or forbidding him from doing work or even basic chores because he's worried that he's sick/pregnant/might get sick. Still, it's not as bad or as toxic as the norm, I guess. Also, neither of the main CP is particularly unique, complex, or interesting as characters, they're both kind of generically "good".

The MC is a decent guy who treats others well and willingly helps people, even if it gets old real fast how he's so "brilliant" because of his modern mindset and future knowledge, and how much money he makes because he's so "smart" and knows things like if you buy common and therefore cheap items in the south, in the north where they're rare you can resell them at a higher price to make a profit.

What little plot there is consists of him hitting occasional speedbumps and once in a while being forced to make detours on his road to becoming a *title drop* culinary tycoon, such as rival restaurant owners, infatuated s*um gers who won't take "no, I'm already in a relationship" for an answer, and dealing with varying levels and kindnesses of aristocracy.

One thing that did kind of throw me here and there was the late-story running focus of Chinese traditional medicine. While it makes sense because of the pseudo-historical setting, and I personally think that some traditional/holistic/alternative medical practices can be useful as supplementary to scientific medical practices, it was hard for me to remain immersed and suspend my disbelief when the story went on and on about how the shou-ger had a "cold uterus" that made it difficult to conceive and therefore he had to stop eating cold foods (both temperature-cold and thematically-"cold"), not cool himself off during the summer beyond lightly fanning himself, and soak his feet in hot water every night after taking hot medicinal baths along with a bunch of other things he had to do, and also was prescribed a regiment of acupuncture to increase his fertility.

Or how when a baby was suffocating from crying too much (??? is that even a real thing or is it a cliché the way everyone in historical/period Chinese dramas spits up blood due to anger/expelling poisons/emotional distress), the doctor pinches the acupoints on the baby's forehead and between its eyebrows, and has other people pat the soles of the baby's feet and press on some other acupoints, then moves on to pressing the baby's chest because that makes a lot of sense when a baby is choking/can't breathe. I don't know if I'm just too ethnocentrically western because I can read western fantasy/historical fiction and if a doctor puts leeches on a patient or prescribes alcoholic beverages to cure a cold, I don't bat an eye—but on the other hand, it's not usually a big part of the story, extremely detailed, and endorsed by a modern transmigrator/time traveler.

... then again, this is a story where women do not exist, only men and "gers" who are physically men except for a red mole on the forehead that means they have a uterus and can get pregnant and the mole gets itchy as a sign of pregnancy, and they apparently do not lactate and cannot breastfeed, so babies are raised on powdered milk and/or rice milk. It's funny how I don't think twice about some fantasy, quack, or alternative scientific/medical practices, but others throw me for a loop.

All of the extras except for the very last chapter are a prequel romance about how a married side couple ended up together, which was relatively cute though felt both rushed and cut short in the end. The very last chapter is a tiny epilogue for the main story.

Despite that series of complaints, I did actually enjoy the story and kept coming back to it as it updated and finally finished. It's not riveting (except for the L&O arc) but it's nice to read about a nice family working hard, eating delicious food, and a protagonist succeeding as well as overcoming obstacles using his brain as well as his connections. The novel was a good read if you like BL farming and/or cooking novels. <<less

well it's good but I don't know what to say and think 🤔😂 the MC is okay but I always felt he is so helpless even though he knows a lot.

But Lou Mingda x Fang Xin story felt much interesting than the main couple. Well the way they send letters with each other and Lou Mingda chasing his Lou Fulang seems adorable and sweet, they should have their own book.

The marriage of the protagonists was too long, I don't know but I've read quite a few slow burns but this... more>> one it's really slow burn maybe because I still want them to have chapters for them as a family when the baby was born. There's a lot of struggles on his restaurant and the way he earns money is so slow that's why it felt longer for them just to get married 🤔😂 plus I don't like how MC runs his shop that he's always get in trouble because he always involved other people on his business and they always try to make trouble for him... without his connections he won't be able to last. I think when it comes to seme MC, the favoured ugly husband is much better and straightforward. when it comes to food merchants like MC, Transmigration of Mian (reluctantly) becomes his man (wife) or the transmigrated into blacksmith husband... these have power couples... although Chang le is not that week.. he has small presence and just the follower of MC 😓 these three books I have mentioned have power couples than the protagonists of this story so I skip the end and read the extra lol <<less

I think this a good, chill kind of story! The premise is similar to a lot of other Danmei — where the MC time travels back into Ancient China in order to do business (in this case, it’s mainly cooking!) It’s not as dog blooded as other similar novels tho! It’s focused more on building a relationship between the Gong!Protagonist and the Shou!ML who is insecure because of his scarred face, inability to speak, and low-fertility status.

If you’re looking for a casual read to spend some time on, it’s not... more>> a bad choice. It doesn’t have a lot of ups and downs and the MTL is particularly easy to read (pretty much on part with actual TLs at about 80% readability.) I ended up dropping the novel cause I’m feeling a bit anxious and can’t focus. If I were to give it w full rating though, I think it would be around 3 stars! <<less

Super adorable! The dynamics between the main characters are so harmonious. Even with the other figures, they also maintain such a good relationship (minus those 'villains' and other bad characters). Overall, the story is warm, definitely a light slice-of-life story, and the main focus of the plot is somewhat more on the cooking-related topic but also with other things going on in between people in the countryside. The pace is slow but not boring, and the romance build-up also reaches its peak with baby steps, but it was so cute.... more>> The relationship between leads is so sweet I don't mind the slow burn. The translators are also doing such a great job in translating the whole series; they also put the image of each character and food inside the story.

I wish the extra story would tell the main character's life instead of the other characters (the one that I wasn't really interested in). <<less

To be honest, I'm a little disappointed, I thought it was going to be a more interesting story.

I feel like it's a novel that had the material to be more interesting but, from almost the beginning, the author forgets about some things that he put into the story just chapters before, then it starts to get boring from a certain point and it goes too fast, many things don't make sense (they seem to be put there to add meaningless drama and without thinking much about it).

The MC reaches a... more>> point near the end where he seems like a secondary character or a companion of the ML. And about the development of their relationship I have to say that I always found it quite meh, although maybe it's just my personal tastes.

But the story is entertaining to a certain point, it serves to pass the time and enjoy some slaps. <<less
