Amamiya Hiroto is unlucky. His life consisted of misfortune after misfortune, culminating in an unlucky death during an incident on a school boat trip, trying to save a girl he barely knew. After death, he met a god of reincarnation who requested that the hundred or so dead passengers—one of them being the girl he tried in vain to save—be reincarnated into another world.

Yet a series of unfortunate events forced Hiroto to reincarnate with even less luck than before, starting with nothing but a tremendous amount of Mana. His second life, far worse than his first, came to a cruel end.

However, upon meeting the god a second time, he was informed that there would be yet another reincarnation—one that had already been set in motion and could not be stopped. Not wanting Hiroto to live long, the god cursed him before he was reborn in the hopes that he would either die quickly or commit su*cide.

Hiroto was reborn once more as a half-Vampire, half-Dark Elf. A Dhampir. Not wanting a fourth life, he is determined to live this third life with the only things remaining from his previous lives—death-attribute magic and his enormous Mana pool.

The start is nice and even though the tone of the novel change after the "revenge/bloody" start, the novel still keep it interest for me. However, the recent chapter is slowly grinding my drop bar. The MC doesn't show any changes in his way of approaching things. He just doesn't learn. The novel keep going back and forth between creating what most Japanese who got throw into another world do: "creating Japanese cuisine" and random politics with in short: "ha ha you fool, imma kill you" to "you monsters, save... more>> me, noooo, spare me, mama" and "i shall take all of you under my wing, come with me and all shall live". Stuff like that

Spoiler

The MC actual age is 16 on earth, 10-20 in 2nd life and 6 or so in 3rd life. Considering his first life was like a country boy who got devoid of technology and social interaction with people and being lock in a cage as a lab rat on his 2nd life. I can understand him for being a wee bit kind and naive but compare to other Isekai with OP naive MC (which are a lot mind you), I take Tsuki ga Michibiku as an example. The MCs are similarly (though Tsukiga MC is younger) naive, OP, have OP companion and striving to create a world of their own in their Isekai world. They MC in Tsukiga pay some what for his nativity and is taught by his companion and also trying himself to learn and improve himself.

[collapse]

Van learn nothing, granted he hasn't suffered yet but still, everything he does come with a "Van-sama is the best" and everything he make has a "never before seen/best thing ever" tag next to it. He kill over 10, 000+ soldiers so far and yet keep getting spook by the smallest of thing and still doesn't understand how OP he is despite having people scream at his face for being too OP. He could just stop and ask a powerful creature he met something like: "Hey, how OP am I" while giving him death threat and stuff and you could get an answers even if it is somewhat exaggerated, just cut it down yourself and you got quite an accurate answer yourself.

Spoiler

He has GOD under him and that god know he is OP so just a question would solve everything but no.

[collapse]

The novel is currently in the middle or it run time and most mediocre author doom their novel at this point. The current author seem to know what he is doing but if the annoying cliche and current trope keep up, I might drop it in the future. <<less

Such a huge f*cking letdown!

At the start the author gives the impression it is going to be a cool headed MC but later it goes to tr*shlevel for no reason what so ever! Holy sh*t if you don't want to get let down please dont read this! And that seinen tag is so false, only the first couple chapters resemble it a bit afterwards it is nothing like that. Please do yourself a favour and drop it right away!

The story is good if you read 2 to 4 chapter but if you read more then 40 CHP you will understand that it's just s*upid how the author killed the novel when he started saying sh*t about you need ... more>>
Spoiler

INT to use Mana

. Basically just ran the story to the ground and burned it.

The MC is the same Typical MC you come to expect for Japanese author with no dignity and balls. Example:
Spoiler

His supposed to be "Mating partner" when he grows up, Is get babies for other Ghouls and she already has a baby but she becomes infertile, so he fixes her problem so that she can give more babies from other ghouls. He helps where to get pregnant. She is having s*x every day with other ghouls but it doesn't bother him.

-----Ok new update changing it to 4/5 star.

The author has stopped that wired stuff and start focusing on the story and building the novel. <<less

I want to like the novel so much, it started out great just like everyone here says but after 40 chapters the MC is still 3 years old, and barley does anything. They have all this foreshadowing of what will happen when he's 10, or in a couple of years were he will go, and what he might do, but the story moves the pace of real life. You have to read all the boring day to day stuff he does for about 10 chapter then actual content for 2... more>> or 3, which make me think this needs a slice of life tag, then I would have known to skip this. Like most Japanese stories now, reading this after around chapter 18 is like drinking water to get full when your starving, or eating dry cackers when your thirsty. Sounds good doesn't work. If in the next couple chapters there isn't a time skip I'm moving on to other stories, but if he at least make it to walking by himself age ill add 5 stars. <<less

Solid Isekai story. The protag has spent the entire novel up to this point (chapter 74) as a child (and will likely continue to do so for quite a while longer), though he IS steadily aging (which is pretty unique, most stories they either don't age or they age through long timeskips).

My only two major complaints:

1 - This isn't really a "harem" story (not yet, certainly). Pretty much all the females he spends time with are in relationships with others and he's young even at chapter 74 (which is the... more>> latest chapter as of this review).

2 - The cooking segments bore me to death. I wish Isekai stories would stop beating this dead horse trope already. We get it, you like Japanese food, stop writing about it in Isekai novels.

I highly recommend this, a very enjoyable Isekai novel. <<less

The beginning was very promising, but the story failed to keep it up. It could have been great and dark story about righteous revenge, but instead it become typical JP slice-of-life. MC gained power, yet he suddenly became soft and timid. He has potential to create massive army and crush his enemies. Instead he wants to play nice and harmless Dhampir.

There is growing harem that you know will never go anywhere, and MC is still only few years old. There is more chapters about making japanese food than fighting. Of... more>> course, everyone in that fantasy world loves his food. Even undead become addicted to it! <<less

My favorite Isekai WN to date. Fast paced story with good humor, a very likable kickass MC, none of the emo angst or drama, and a very fleshed out fantasy world.

Edit: Chapter 129 and the 5 star review stands. Great freaking novel.

I like this novel a lot. Probably one of the better "Isekai" novel out there. This is a novel of a japanese writer actually putting effort in writing more than just cliche, sure it has it too but this one has more depth, more story, more stuffs. Edit: So even this good novel could not escape the japanese forest of clichés. Oh well. Down to 3 star for me.

This series thrives on dark humor and insanity, interspersed with random Japanese food episodes (though those tamper down a bit later) and women who want to jump the MC's bones. If you like a serious 'road to revenge' story this probably isn't for you.

If your ability to accept is quite wide though, this is good comedy.

Everyone got what they deserve, that's how a good story goes.

At the very least, the sonovabit*h god must "at the very least" got strip from his god position.

Let see if this novel's author is also a loser or not !

... more>> MC won't try to take revenge is another story, it doesn't mean god could goes unpunished, that's just like telling people: "You Can Do All The Worst Thing, Causing Harm To Other, As Long As You Have Enough Power, No One Can Do Anything To You"

Stories like that twisting people.

Let me get this straight, No One can be so forgiving. In fact, people reading novel like that never learn any shed forgiving, in contrast, it plant the seed of evil into people heart. Thus, tragedies without punishment, will most likely make this world more and more a bad place.

(Beside, most people read novel for entertainment not to learn forgiving s**t)

Long story short, let's wait and see if this is another "bad novel" which "try to hypnotize but actually twisting people"

PS: btw, the name of the sonovabit*h god is Rodcore as in "rotten to the core" <<less

I'll keep it simple. The story is amazing the MC doesn't have a clear personality since the way his first 2 likes went. The sotry is unpredictable at sometimes making it more fun to read. My only problem with it is that it is slow sometimes by going into too much detail about stuff irrelevant to the story such as how to make food (if you like that them it's 5/5) so I gave it 4/5.

Depending on how the story goes even if it's a bit slow sometimes I'll change... more>> it to 5/5 <<less

This a pretty fun read. Its fun seeing the undead familiars evolve and how the threats are usually nonhuman. With that said, I'm a little worried about the direction of the series. I've only read up to the translated chapters but the main character is starting to rely on his familiars less and less and take things into his own hands, becoming the classic jack of all trades MC. I hate that. I liked how he had to rely on death magic. Martial arts master, carpenter, alchemist, etc. If you... more>> take away his reliance on death magic he becomes way too generic. The only other thing that isn't a nitpick is the overuse of Golems. Golems are ridiculous in these types of stories and they're just way too multipurpose. It'd be one thing if Golems were used only for combat but of course not. Even the decision to have Golems fall under the category of death magic and not life magic is questionable at best.

It's still enjoyable for the most part. No drama, no s*aves, only a slight mention of japanese bathouses, and the plot moves quick enough. <<less

If five stars reserved for masterpieces and four for good read then this novel deserves something between 3 and 4 stars.

Do not misunderstand - I reread it all 3 times, so it is a good read (and thus there is 4 stars), but the plot, personages and worldbuilding has a LOT of problems. MC is too overpowered in his problem solving and I can't understand what need is there for other characters. There is no proper interaction between characters, no emotions, no communication building, no political ploys, no some knowledge... more>> usage or anything like this. Novel is simple-minded shounen with no challenge for MC whatsoever.

But at the same time it is no worse than many other popular web-novels out there. So as long as you read first 10-15 chapters and enjoy them, then you can read them all. Just don't think it is something close to D*ng*on D*f*nce or G*me of Thr**es or Ar*f*reta - there is nothing close to them.

If author reworks this novel while publishing lightnovel volumes, it will be better for the novel. <<less

I don't get all the love. I always been on and off this series for the longest time due the amount of 5 star and surprisingly low negative ratings. The only thing I could think of is it was one of the first novels on this site (and with consistent updating).

Though translation team is excellent, the story suffers a major drop after the first few chaps, after getting rid of everything that was written up for that point, a revenge plot. From then on it becomes a weird casual slice... more>> of life with not so dark fantasy. And lots of the story plot and writing gets really weird. Such as all the woman constantly asking to have his child despite him being 5-7 years old.

The chapters are very long too. I suggest opting for the manga instead do you can skim the quality and plot quicker. <<less

I typically lose interest in most novels after 50 long chapters even good ones, but this is one the best pieces of media I have ever consumed.

I have never been so hooked to a story. The story, worldbuilding, characters, and translation are impeccable. It can feel slow at times, but I love that it takes this time to further develop side characters, enemies, and world.

I could not recommend this more highly. 10/10

It takes a long time for this novel to become good at dealing with tropes, character development, and so on. Unfortunately, it took too long in my opinion. Apart from the boredom of MC doing the same things over and over, it's quite okay, 3.8/5

Boring as hell. Saw the huge rating and the LN art was done by my favorite artist so I tried to keep up, but it was nothing but sleep inducing.

So many characters are introduced with barely any substance to them that I stopped caring at the 5th one or so.

Every girl belongs to this shota harem. Everyone lives happily, even his mother who was r*ped, burned, then brought back to life as a ghost.

Even ignoring the fact that the story began with the promise of revenge and action, it was... more>> really just some slow slice of life thing where the MC builds his own city, makes his own food. In a boring way. The author really tried to make the world vast, but it lacks depth.

There is nothing memorable about the MC. Save for the fact that he uses, well, Death magic. <<less

OK I'm writting this out of despise for the ones judging it after not even reading more than 2 or 3 volumes. Ok so here we go. BEWARE!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!

The positives:

The story is great. The author will constantly add and/or develop new consepts intot he story such as the guider bit and the thing about he creating new bodies for himself more later on.

... more>> The protagonist has a nice range of abilities and the author makes everything he does sound feaseble.

He is pretty much ruthless (which for me isn't necessarily a positive) but has a very large acceptable range before something causes him to lash out. He is definitely not a goodie two shoes that kills innocent people simply because they are somehow involved in something that harmed him or because they were on the wrong place at the wrong time. Like how some people stated above the people on the city did enjoy burning his mother. But later on both the MC and his mother say they are not mad because these people on their perspective were doing the right thing, they shouldn't be blamed or punished for being educated since birth to act like that and on top of that they were obligated by law to act like that. So MC still does punishes them a bit.

The novel has a nice pace (though on the slower side) but you can read it when you are bored and take long breaks from it no problem.

The MC does need to struggle to get stronger and even though he is OP and has a cheat he does not just kill everyone outright. He is actually much weaker than many of his allies in many areas so they don't feel like just decorative piecesto indicate how much stronger the MC is than them. In fact MC constantly ahs to think of ways to strnghten them in order to not be killed

The Negatives:

Yeah yeah what a surprise the story has flaws. Let us start shall we?

Character count: Oh my dear got there are so many characters.I kid you not I didn't read it for about two weeks and all the names I could remmeber were the some right out of the beginning of the novel. SO many characters are presented around the midway part it just feels pointlesss even because they are developed on the chapter they are presented and mostly forgotten.

ret*rded development: If you don't like development of things the protagonist won't use just to flaunt how amazing he is or even at a try on the comical at how amazing he is then this is going to annoy you quite a bit. Things like a race of his companions suddenly discovering a new Job all of a sudden because they were exposed to his mana or ate his food or whatever happen here and there and then are ignored. My guess is they're filler but still completely braks the flow with the protagonist doing soemthing really interesting and instead focus on a random thing with no relevance. I'll argue that this does work to stablish the story further and feel like the characters don't depend on the MC to matter on the enviroment around them but this story might go too far with it.

Carefreeness: This is honestly my biggest concent/problem in the novel. The author will slowly build up a sence od weight and respect on the reader's mind, Leading you to slowly respect and care for the world and characters but after volume 8 he stars to slowly stop giving a f*ck. He creates high as f*ck stakes and makes you think these thinga rea important but then he just doesn't give a f*ck. Oh there's a continent covered in demons and dungeons running rampart? We are introduced to it like it's a big deal? There's a dangerous character that might start a war? Nah, the mosnters/dungeons are easy as f*ck to hold back because they are fkn strong and some of them f*cked and created a new race also very fkn strong, tense situation with a character than can enter on war with them? Nah they'll resolve the problem with a casual ass chat.

The MC releases the goddes of life from imprisonment and drops that on the other gods on a casual ass conversation like they she just returned form a trip. The author seems to have a trauma and's afraid to put any tension on anything that isn't related to the direct enemy they have.

The harem: Over 50 girls. Including a woman without any limbs, probably the goddes that considers him her son, a mantis chick, a half octopus. And it's just a straight up fancervce for the c*nts that like this kinda shit. The author keeps on making jokes about how the girls will eventually enter his harem but with tthe seriousness of the situations the story is in it's not only not funny it's annoying.

That's it. Good story but if you want something more serious this ain't it. I wrote much more about the negatives than the positives but I mean I almost read all of it so you tell me if I thought it's good <<less

This is definitely one of the good isekais, not gonna deny that. The story is, although a bit more slowpaced than other, more mindless, high action, instant gratification popular ones, I do like this style more. I could actually argue, despite it's abysmal release rate, that it could have been one of my favorite isekais I ever read.

But. I don't know what's with japanese writing about their food as if it's the second coming of Jesus, or whatnot, but damn, way to ruin a decent novel with useless unpleasant filler.... more>> While the japs must be wetting themselves every time they hear or read the words miso, or soy sauce, I've personally been a weeb for quite a while now, and I'm self considering myself quite a foodie as well, but after so much time, seeing, or worse, reading half a chapters worth, or more, where it only talks about food, to put it bluntly its like a non masochist doing cbp. Never tried it myself personally, but I imagine, for a "non-initiated" it would feel uncomfortable at best, and unbearably painful, akin to torture, at worst. And that's what I feel after seeing soba, miso, ramen and the rest of them being deified again and again and again like some sort of divine propaganda.

So, after this rant, if reading about food development again and again, as a filler, gives you an aneurysm, the good parts in it..I don't think they are worth putting up with this torture for. <<less

What makes this novel unique is the complexity between the 2nd and 3rd world but The conclusion of the 2nd world solve pretty easy and really underwhelming. After the long ride of 360 chapters, this conclusion kinda disappoints me and I felt I got baited by the revenge tag.

The strongest point about this novel is world-building in this novel is very detailed. There's a lot of race and God later you may feel it's too many details. MC become super OP later so, that curse barely made an effect. A... more>> romance moment does not exist. The fight scene is not really great cause He's a mage so He just shooting power and using OP gadgets like Devil king fragments. <<less
