Bai Yang is the youngest son of a rich family who grew up spoiled, unambitious and having no one expect anything from him. He doesn’t really mind this though, because he’s still able to live a simple and happy life.

One day, however, his older brother got into an accident and is now comatose. Bai Yang’s father now has to consider his youngest son to take over the family business. Unfortunately for him, Bai Yang is a weak, timid, and cowardly child. How can he ever succeed?

Wanting to change his son’s personality, the father has Bai Yang transmigrated into the world of Wild Wind, a very famous fantasy novel. Bai Yang’s father hopes the environment of that world will shape his son to be more arrogant and domineering, as a child of a wealthy scion family ought to be.

However, due to an error with the Main System, instead of transmigrating as the protagonist, Bai Yang ends up becoming a cannon fodder villain, Xie Zietian, from the Demon Realm! In order to safely and quickly return to his world, Bai Yang has to ensure that the protagonist, Zhou Ying, ascends to the heavens so his transmigration mission will be complete.

In order to sneak into the human realm and help Zhou Ying, Bai Yang comes up with a variety of excuses to the Demon King of Eternal Night, such as…

Bai Yang, in a dignified manner: “Your Majesty, that person might threaten the demon world. I went to the human world to kill him for you!” (Actually, I went there to meet the protagonist.)

Bai Yang, proclaiming his loyalty: “Your Majesty, hang in there. I will go to the human world to find the elixir for you!” (Actually, I went there to save the protagonist.)

Bai Yang, with an attitude of selfless dedication: “Your Majesty, I just want to go to the human world to further your great cause!” (Actually, I went there to see the protagonist.)

The Demon King’s face remained impassive but, in fact, the tips of his ears were red. He was thinking: I can’t believe he loves me so deeply…

Demon King: “Hmph! Seeing how clingy you are, I’ll accept your love. Tell me! Whatever you need, I’ll give it to you!”

Bai Yang: “****! Your Majesty, I don’t love you.”

Demon King: “No, you love me.”

The Demon King truly believed Bai Yang and he shared a deep mutual love until he discovered that Bai Yang was having an “affair” with a “wild human” …

In short, this story is an enjoyable and easy read with an occasionally silly MC and cold-but-passionate ML. Misunderstandings never quite clear up until the very end but the MC isn't excessively frustrating and the drama never gets tedious (I'd even call it fun). Unfortunately, while the story is overall fun to follow, the ending leaves something to be desired: things felt slightly rushed, certain events could have been expanded on further, and the relationships between MC and certain characters could have been richer (though they're still nicely written!). Even... more>> so, I enjoyed the story. Had the author taken more time with the ending, I would have definitely given the story a 5/5. I originally gave this 3/5 stars based on my assessment of its writing but added some more points just for it simply being fun to read.

Tone (4/5)

The overall tone of the story is light and the story ends on a happy note, but the last few chapters prior to the end feel heavier due to the direction the climax takes. The story leads in and out of serious moments quite naturally after setting up the initial humour, so the story-telling doesn't feel emotionally flat. Even so, I think certain events could have been improved/expanded on further, mainly because while I still felt quite moved at parts, I wanted a bit more.

Spoiler

Examples:

  • A greater acknowledgement of what happened between ML and MC during that rough punishment sex
  • A bit more lead up/expansion on the growing feelings of MC towards ML
  • More interaction between the Son of Destiny and MC
  • More lead-up to the selfless sacrifice of the cute System for the MC (I loved how sincere their friendship became but felt there was minimal work done in transitioning them from a professional work relationship to a lovely personal one)
    [collapse]
I would have loved if some of the serious moments had been expanded on further!

Characters 3/5

MC is a modern, likable and overall nice guy who hates having to fill his role as a typical 'scum' villain that harasses others. He tries to hold back while staying in character, but he is often misunderstood by others anyway and seen with either: a) fear (eg. By subordinates), or b) disgust (eg. By ML and some peers).

ML is a cold and powerful character who is most-often portrayed as strict, intimidating and unsympathetic but occasionally has tsundere moments in moments of shyness or agitation.

MC's system is a cheerful and earnest worker that follows the rules more often than not. I came to see her as a cute little sister.

The characters are quite likable/consistently written, but I find they fall short in really selling emotion to readers. There is a passing level of depth to the main characters (and some supporting characters) but I was waiting for more throughout the entire novel.

Relationship (3/5)

As implied by the summary of the novel, the romantic relationship between MC and ML first begins through a misunderstanding. Under the belief that the MC likes him, our ML becomes more aware/considerate of MC's actions and slowly develops feelings for him in turn. Unfortunately for ML, he is actually the first to fall in love, leading to much of the comedy written at the beginning of the story.

Spoiler

At first, MC denies his romantic feelings towards ML, but his eventual acceptance is quite lovely, stemming from his feelings of wonder and grattitude whenever ML shows he cherishes him.

[collapse]

The ending left much to be desired with their dynamic but ultimately maintains their feelings for each other. I mainly wish the explanation of MC and ML's relationship in the real world had been polished a bit more. Keeping it short is fine, and I suppose they did demonstrate to some degree, but I definitely felt that the adage 'show, don't tell' applied here.

R*pe

Spoiler

Take this with a grain of salt but I believe there is a moment of actual non-consent between the MC and ML while they are both romantically involved that is treated seriously at the time of it happening. At the very least it is dubcon. ML takes his anger out on the MC after the latter's 'betrayal', and I was surprised by how violent it got -- to the point that the ML broke the MC's leg and caused him real pain (though I believe this was softened somewhat by the demons' fast healing). There was a moment afterwards where the MC again feels fear when thinking of s*x with ML, but this was eventually forgotten/looked over with the progression of the plot.

I thought that this was important to note because while one can skim over the scene and perceive it as aggressive s*x, I think the scene was intended to show a moment of true darkness. The moments after this were definitely of those I thought would have benefited from being expanded on further.

[collapse]

Plot (3/5)

The plot you followed within the transmigrated world was quite easy to follow so long as you remembered who was who and what everyone ultimately wanted but I do wish that there had been more chemistry between MC and the Son of Destiny.

Spoiler

When starting the novel I had expected more interactions between the MC and Son of Destiny but the author spent more time designing goofy scenes between MC and ML.

[collapse]

The real world plot was quite straightforward but ultimately felt unimportant despite being the cause of MC's transmigration. Even so, I thought the twist at the end was quite interesting, and while I again wish things had been wrapped up more cleanly and in less of a rush, the story wasn't terrible.

Overall I really wish I could have given the story more points! I genuinely enjoyed the story and saw so much potential but I could feel the disappointment keenly when things ended and certain things I had waited for never came. Even so, I definitely would recommend this novel if you're looking for something fun and easy to read. It's still an enjoyable story. <<less

I saw a lot of other reviews about this novel that I disagreed with, so here's my review:

It's an alright novel. 3.5/5, I guess. Not too bad, but not the kind I'd consider well-written. It's mostly the interesting premise that keeps me reading the story. I can't say that I particularly like the MC, the system, or the ML, although ML was certainly my favorite in early chapters.

Prior to chapter 65 or so, ML basically imagines their relationship with MC. MC doesn't really like him, although he might feel indebted... more>> ML because of ML's kindness to him. This is my cup of tea.

What most people are complaining about is what happens in chapter 70. That's also when the story starts to get worse.

(EDIT after reading other reviews: When chapter 70 was first translated, the 'R*pe' tag had not yet been added. This is when most of the reviews that didn't like it dropped. Not to mention that r*pe is still a trope that can be played well. This story did not do so.)

Proceed to read a bit more about the details of chapter 70: (nested spoilers don't really work)

.

.

.

.

Strictly speaking, it's not noncon r*pe, but dubcon. I suppose it is still r*pe, but reviews make it sound more blatant than it really is. MC gave his consent--on a condition. ML did not deliver. Details about what happens below:

Spoiler

Basically, ML has a qi deviation problem, where his cultivation is unstable. And the way to fix it is...R-18 dual cultivation. Of course. The plot must go on. Don't question the author's decisions. Anyway, in order to fix his problem, ML must establish a "channel" between his and MC's body while, you know. MC's condition for the sexy times is that ML must establish a channel while they do it. But, voila, ML has so much fun during the sexy times that he forgets.

Anyway, afterwards, ML was all, "Oh noes, it was too fun and I forgot to establish the channel! Now MC is crying and sad! But I kinda wanna do it again cuz it was so fun!" and victim-blaming the MC a bit because MC also enjoyed sexy times a little. Which kind of ruined any sympathy I might have had for him. The story thankfully seems to know and recognize that this attitude is pretty twisted, though, so it's not a story that completely glorifies such actions and thoughts.

After that part of the story, ML also treats MC a bit more like a pet rather than a lover. Rather than regretting actions, he tries to coax MC into forgiving him for them. He installs what's basically a secret surveillance camera on MC without MC knowing, things like that.

[collapse]

And my opinion on it:

Spoiler

To be fair, this is a Xianxia where characters don't necessarily have a modern view of things, so it's fairly understandable that ML, who also has had no relationships ever prior to the story, s*xual or romantic, doesn't really understand how healthy relationships work. Especially when the guy who advises him on romantic matters is a scum.

Nonetheless, it kind of ruined the hope of fun fluff and misunderstanding that I had of this story before.

I still read it because it's not the end yet, so there hopefully might be some development for the ML and he learns how to do relationships properly. And I still want to see the ML finding out about MC's "affair" with a "wild human" that's in the summary, and the story stuff that happens after it.

Still, the earlier chapters were fun to read, and it's not as if the ML's transition in such a direction will bother everyone. After all, it's fiction. So yeah.

I didn't vote with stars because I already knew of the problem thanks the comments section before reading the novel.

Yeah. It's gonna be another one of those reviews where "everything was fine until chapter 70".

Spoiler

The only way to save the ML was for him to insert his pen*s in the MC and create a channel to circulate energy and deal with the ki-deviation. So the MC decides to help save the ML's life, and only asks for a promise of being gentle and only inserting.

Of course the demon king breaks the promise RIGHT AWAY and instead without preparation simple shoves and goes at it without any care about the pain, bleeding, pleas to stop, and DOESN'T EVEN CIRCULATE THE ENERGY.

Making the MC's sacrifice and pain and suffering useless.

[collapse]

To me, the problem doesn't come from the r*pe. The tag is there. The comments are there. There was more than enough warnings.

The problem comes from the way it was....

Spoiler

Noticed as something bad and wrong he did and afterwards absolutely ignored as a form of violence by the demon king and WORST of all, by the system.

The demon king is a character in a wuxia world, so this kind of thinking can be expected on the worldview.

The system in the other hand, was like a trusted friend. One that simple glosses over the suffering, fear and trauma that came after the event and convinces the MC that the r*pe was his fault. That he knew it would happen.

That since he knew in the very back of his mind the possibility, shown by his reluctance, he MUST have wanted it and it was HIS fault.

That argument of "man are unable of keeping their reason or stopping once they put it in" and that it was his fault for believing the demon king's promise. That he was asking for it. (Victim blaming at it's worst)

[collapse]

See, the system plays the part/is characterized as a modern female. To read it saying such things was ten times worse than the ML's thinking. THAT was a betrayal of expectations.

The way the story flows it truly doesn't seem like the r*pe and victim blaming is something the author KNOWS it's wrong but put in the story for the sake of conflict, growth, to attract public or whatever.

It seems like a belief so ingrained and intrinsic to the author's opinion that they vomited it in the story accidentally.

It has no purpose, it does not entertain, it is not important for the plot and...

Spoiler

Even the trauma of the event is resolved by further raping in a very short time.

And it totally detracts from the story. Because if you are going to write about the pain and trauma it caused, writing that it was solved in a few days or weeks and ignored as if it never happened, with no lasting effects, at least put an reason for it. Even a half baked one.

[collapse]

I hope that the author will correct this in the future.

#####################Well, I'm now on chapter 87. I have to say that the story got a lot better. Maybe because there wasn't much on the romance part.

The plot keeps going on as if the "Ch 70 disaster" never happened. It also shows how useless that part was.

I'll keep reading and posting updates. <<less

Used to be good. Looked forward to it. Then the r*pe came. Can't do this anymore. Not worth it. Thought it was going to be a cute story abt misunderstandings. Wish someone had put the r*pe tag before hand. Also, the victim blaming is disgusting. My love has now turned to hate. So disappointed. What's with this epidemic of r*pe in romance stories?

SPOILERS BUT READ IF OTHER COMMENTS ARE PUTTING YOU OFF

Spoiler

Ok, what happened in chapter 70 is definitely nonconsensual and by no means justifiable. The MC was definitely a victim to the ML at this moment.

What triggered others even worse was the aftermath of it. It’s poor behavior, obviously.

However, as a fictional work, please think about who these characters are. The system is not human and it’s been made clear that although it has sympathy, the empathy is very off. It’s only there to give moral support and reminders to the MC. In its viewpoint, it warned the MC against helping the ML but the MC paid it little mind and went ahead anyway, so in its eyes, the MC was at fault.

As for the ML... do you guys forget he’s the demon king. He orders massacres, sends 2 people to be used as prostit**es, the most feared and powerful man in the DEMON realm. He’s going to be selfish, narcissistic, and similarly lacks empathy like the system. DEMONS are said to more animalistic when it comes to instinct. Him saying he really just couldn’t help it or that he forgot (if uk then uk) was that point of them being DEMONS.

What the ML did was unjustifiable in real world. His actions for him as a character? It’s within expectations. You see those characteristics from the beginning.

The author SHOWS you they understand the actions that happened were completely wrong with the MCs reaction. Idk why people say they went for comedy because the MCs reaction made me feel like he genuinely, and irrevocably, despised the ML and would never forgive him (oh how quickly that resolved). I was upset with him and I was disappointed with him. There was no comedy there. His reaction was realistic.

as for the MC, he’s so naive. So so naive, but at the same time he’s not s*upid. He’s so full of heart and yet willing to do what needs to be done. He’s so easily attached to the demon king from the get go despite his fear of the ML. The MC had so many ways to be out of his relationship with the ML, we see it, the system sees it, and yet he’s the one who persists. That’s his character flaw, to overlook the worst in someone in favor of their best qualities.

Let me tell you that the ML is charming. He’s charismatic and is half wolf dog and half golden retriever. It’s such a weird dichotomy and makes me like his character more. When MC says the ML is so contradictory it really is true. He’s not like the usual MLs we tend to see. He lacks so much emotional intelligence it’s just funny to see him make up whatever makes sense in his head.

So yeah, I don’t agree with the hate to the author. What happened fits into the character setting they established. It’s a five star for me.

Yes, I did read the tags. Yes, I still dropped the story. The thing with tags is that they don't warn you where in the story and in which stage of the relationship the non-con will happen, nor how much of it will there be and how it would be handled. I have nothing against r*pe in fiction if it's used as an important plot tool and gives the characters opportunity to learn and do better. In this story, there's none of that and the whole thing was addressed terribly.... more>> It gave nothing to the plot and was basically a tool to just finally get main characters together. The scene was painful to read but somewhat expected. The author just didn't handle the whole following thing well and I believe this (not the r*pe scene itself) is the main reason for low ratings.

The first half of the story was quite good though and the second part, even with r*pe scene, had so much more potential. <<less

4/5. Couple of boring bits that could be sped through, but everything was nicely concluded.

Misunderstandings, misunderstandings, misunderstandings abound!

MC was sent into a fantasy novel by his father in order to become braver, but oops something happened and he ends up in cannon fodder XZT instead of the protagonist.

... more>> In order to help the protagonist, he lies (and lets the ML continue to misunderstanding, misunderstanding, and misunderstanding) to help the protagonist and continue his own mission.

Mr Overbearing President, er, Overbearing Demon King goes, yes, you must be in love with me so that's why you did all these things. And MC goes, hmm, why not? It makes everything easier.

Then he accidentally, and actually falls in love.

All the MC knows about the ML is from the book, and slowly, he begins to realise that the ML is more than the character in the book, and his own thoughts and feelings.

Spoiler

So much so that he makes the decision to stay in the world with the demon king. But of course, that doesn't happen because Plot occurs.

[collapse]

Pros:

  • Cute interaction between the system and MC.
  • Overbearing Demon King is overbearing, but not that overbearing. Like the MC describes him, the ML's like a kid who hasn't finished school, and only knows how to go buy, buy, buy, when trying to impress the person he loves.
  • HE, 1v1. No unnecessary love triangles (only misunderstood ones)
  • Comedy! There's funny bits scattered throughout the entire story.
Spoiler

MC: No, Protagonist, I'm your father!

ML:......

Protagonist: Noooooo! I don't have a father like you! You abandoned me and my mother! *Acts like a kid who just realised his father was a scum.*

[collapse]

Or:

Spoiler

After their first time:

Hua Feihua: I can smell you guys on each other, hmm, YOU HAD SEX?

ML: *blushes like a virg*n maiden*

MC: (can't let HFH think I'm the bottom and I fainted twice) Y-yeah! We did! So?

HFH: the Demon King's the bottom??!!

[collapse]

Cons:

  • Couple of boring bits that could be sped through.
  • Some might not like the whole, 'im a straight guy! I like girls! I'm not bent' thing
  • Spoiler

Poor Protagonist! Although the world was restored, his memories are all gone! : (

I really liked this story, so much so that I started mtl editing it to make it more readable and then went back to read the edited version. It's cute and funny and overall pretty feel good. The ML isn't nearly as overbearing as in other novels, in fact, until very close to the end he's mostly just awkward and embarrassed about his crush and tries to hide it while still being a mighty demon king. It's really precious. The system is adorable as well and kind of snarky, so... more>> the convo's between them and the MC are fun to read.

I always love it when the MC is capable and just as strong as the ML or vice versa. I never really enjoy damsel in distress tropes so this story is especially enticing to me because the two save each other often. And although the Demon King is stronger, the MC is among the most strong in the demon world.

I haven't completely finished the story yet, since I've gotten to the part where the MC and ML are pretty much together-together so I've lost interest overall, hence the missing one star, but up to this point it's really a joy. I will say that towards the end when their relationship comes to complete fruition, it starts to get a little tropey and the ML is suddenly super overbearing but the rest of the story is really low key and fun with a natural relationship progression and lots of interesting moments. <<less

The plot seems interesting, a timid, over-cautious and too gentle guy having to act as an arrogant to weak, boot-licking to strong, playboy type character. And he isn't allowed to be ooc. Also the demon king (ML) is very cute.

Dropped this for the same reasons others did. I had actually left it unfinished (far past chapter 70) and forgotten the extent of the scenes until rereading from the beginning years later. To the person (s) blaming such unhappy readers for not reading tags, tags don’t indicate which character in a story does something nor how it’s handled in the story. There are novels on here with the same tags that handle the topics beautifully, sometimes it’s not even the ML involved. FYI, the issue people have is not simply... more>> that it happened but how it was written and handled. I appreciated the translator’s warnings on the chapters as well. In certain circumstances I can move past dub-con; it’s rampant in Chinese BL so you get used to it and tolerating becomes a grey area at times. This is a prime example of how my tolerance is circumstantial.

Here, the way it happens, the aftermath and the explicit narrative focus on painting the extent of it as a horrible experience for MC whilst simultaneously having a victim-blaming remorseless ML and system, all set to a “comedic” background was both bizarre and jarring. It made it impossible to brush away or chalk up to cultural kinks. And the fact that it happens multiple times turns a story that had up to then been enjoyable to awkward and uncomfortable to read.

I’ve read awkward/painful first times and reluctant MCs, been uncomfortable. But those stories were written well because they became about character and relationship growth; about the couple learning to be better and honoring and understanding each other. The set up here makes it glaringly clear the author just wants us to find it charming or humorous that the ML continues to be clueless and manipulative even when the MC is angry, bleeding, and passed out. It’s just plain weird. If you’re going to write a well-meaning ML who made a funny mistake, don’t describe such serious wounds and the experience so horribly traumatic for the MC. If you’re going to write a psychopath, do that from beginning to end. If you’re going to write a clueless sociopath, do that from beginning to end. This ML goes from a bit of a prankster who has reasonable misunderstandings to a serial ab*ser with outright delusions— with no traumatic catalyst; it’s just bad writing.

It just stopped being fun and you stop thinking they’re cute together and start thinking the MC is a poor gaslit sap. So by the near-end, you’re apathetic towards the couple and just reading for the other plot (which isn’t even rich enough to be worth trudging through the “romance”). <<less

I have finally caught up with the latest chapters!

I really like this book. It's hilarious and I love Bai Yang. He's not the damsel in distress kind of character (This tropes always turns me off. I hate characters like that). He is strong and independent and plus points he will do anything to absolutely get out of any bad situation most of the solutions will be ridiculous and probably will get him into more trouble in the future lol. The misunderstandings in this novel are all hilarious. Usually when there... more>> are misunderstandings in any novel they are so boring and I hate them. But with this one I love them all and I love the fact that Bai Yang just goes along with them cuz he has too much on his plate lol.

Demon King: "You love me."

BY (Bai Yang) : " No I don't" (tries to explain it 5 times)

BY: You know what ok fine whatever.

I love this attitude, it's hilarious. And the Demon king......I love him. He's not the overbearing type of demon king. He's a precious cinnamon roll. The way he blushes (more than even Bai Yang) on the crush he has on Bai Yang is so cute and needs to be preserved. The one thing I probably won't forgive demon king for is when he r*ped Bai Yang. If you want to know how the click the spoilers
Spoiler

So the demon king basically has qi deviations from time to time and if he wants to stop it he needs to share his qi (by sex) with another person who happens to be his beloved Bai Yang and so BY is like "cool I'll help you" and demon king is beyond happy but BY was told that as long as he doesn't move then it won't be considered s*x. But then the demon king is so happy that he can sleep with his crush that he ends up moving without BY's consent and above all forgets to share his qi.

[collapse]
That is why This is a 4 stars.

I love the system too! It's so sarcastic and so utterly unhelpful that I love it. The convos between BY and system go like this:

BY: Xiao ling how could I be done by a man. Why does it have to be?

system (Xiao Ling) : Sir you can't really blame him. He's a man. How can expect a man to stop moving once inside?

LOL. I love all the characters. The plot twist was amazing
Spoiler

Demon king finds out that BY is meeting the protagonist Zhou Ying in the human world so he catches them and then before demon king can kill Zhou Ying BY tells that Zhou Ying is his son. LMAO!

Overall if the r*pe wasn't a part of it it would be a solid 5 stars!!

I love this novel. The pacing is great, the humor hits hard, and readers will encounter equal parts hilarity and heartache.

One of the aspects of the novel I can't praise enough is that the author wrote this with a clear outline in mind. I've read a lot of novels with great reviews--eg. Husky and his White Cat Shizun, Heaven Official's Blessing--but frankly they all have issues with golden fingers popping up out of nowhere, sudden new worlds never mentioned before, and dei ex machina galore to solve the authors' tangled... more>> plot lines.

This novel is the definition of clean and contained. Its scenes do not drag on for the sake of word count. New developments are believable and hinted at in past chapters.

Even the misunderstandings are hilarious. For those who hate misunderstanding-based plots, this novel's misunderstandings made me choke on my tea.

The translations on Chrysanthemum Garden are great. I chose to finish reading the rest of this in the original language, but either way the read is satisfying. The author favors use of Chinese idioms.

Spoiler

There is dubious consent/noncon in this, and the treatment of that dubcon is a bit flippant and victim-blaming. This is common in CN BL. It didn't affect my enjoyment but it might lower someone else's.

Why is this rating so low for such an awesome story?

It’s funny and cute and the MC is a little dork.

Those of you who like “My Disciple Died Yet Again” and don’t mind BL would probably love this story!

Can everyone just stop with the justification of any form of s*xual violence and victim blaming? It's not a fun plot when you shove your disgusting views in a novel out of nowhere. I honestly dgaf when r*pe is use as a plot devise as it is with mu*der, but justifying it and blaming it on the victim, plus making it a tool for them to get together is making my skull crack. It's not cute and funny, this shouldn't be an argument.

"He deserved it" do you hear yourself?

i wish NV had a reply to a comment option (if it does I can't find it) . This novel is both funny and well written and the chapter 70 that most of the reviewers are talking about is definitely not non-con.

#spoiler

The ML is really inexperienced and like every inexperienced person he hurt the ML on their first and second encounter, but after being told off he asked for advice and improved he's skill, the MC clearly states that he enjoys it a lot.

I don't get why people get... more>> bu*t hurt over fictional worlds and characters 🤦‍♀️.

Also when your partner coaxes you to get it on, stops when you say stop 🛑 but continues when you start enjoying yourself that's not r*pe (otherwise we will ALL be needing explicit disclaimers every time we get at it) .

stop under rating a good book because of your insecurities.

Dont bother with low ratings and reviews this is a good one. I read it in one sitting. You're missing out a lot if you skip this one.

I had such huge expectations for this novel at the beginning but now it’s dwindled to nothing cause I started disliking both the MC and ml.

First off the very forced miscommunication I was getting extremely tired of and the way the author wrote the MC made me feel like he didn’t actually feel any love for the ml. Their relationship is hella toxic and manipulative, like literally everytime the MC would anger the ML then when he wants something from the ML he starts lying and bullshiting, only acting nice... more>> when he needs something from the other just made me feel extremely icky. Next our ml... where do u even start. had so much potential but in the end ended up as your avg rapist idk why authors like to ruin their own characters. I could only feel disgusts towards the MC and ML no matter what after ch 50 so I dropped the novel <<less

What. A. Let. Down.

This, coming from an angst loving yaoi reader, even I was left feeling the ick from ML. It's like he completely changed and not in a good tsundere way but in a creep disturbing-disgusting sicko who would be a cannon fodder villain in any average story.

At first, I didn't take the bad reviews seriously and liked the story till chapter 70. It erased all good things I had read. I cannot look at the system and the ML the same way anymore.

I thought the author was good... more>> but their disgusting views can't help but spill into their work, staining it all in a vomit inducing pile of sh*t.

P.s. I'm suspecting almost all the good reviews are paid.

And it's not about being surprised about r*pe in a story where it was tagged, but the blatant mockery of r*pe and it being justified it not having any serious repercussions specifically when MC was so traumatised. This isn't romance. The ML glowed down and became a disgusting man who couldn't see anything wrong with his actions, manipulations, lies and r*pes. There wasn't any guilt, he didn't see the MC, he never LOVED the MC. <<less

Humorous, interesting, and well-paced. I'd recommend this novel to anyone who finds the synopsis interesting and is ok with the tags.

Please ignore the reviews hating on the entire novel due to there being r*pe and s*xual ab*se in it, especially the ones that come from people who haven't completed the story.

It's not fair to give the story a bad rating for content that was clearly included in the tags. It's like buying hot coffee, ignoring the warning about it being hot, then blaming the coffee when you burn your tongue.... more>> The reviews from people who haven't read the content in question are even worse, because those reviews aren't even based on the novel itself. They're just based on other reviews. <<less
