–I dream of a world filled with light, family, school, friends, trains, buses, movies, and books. “I” grow up in a world of light… and, in the end, I am enveloped in darkness within a white room.

Upon waking from the dream, I find myself transformed into a small demon in a world known as the Demon Realm.

“–I want to go back–”

What spreads in the heart of ‘me’ is the yearning for the world of light seen in the dream. And one day, I leap into the “Summoning Gate” that appears before me. When ‘I’ wake up again, I am born as a human baby. It’s the Holy Kingdom. A human world different from the one ‘I’ wished to return to.

Despite being a demon, with only the power of a baby, ‘I’ am filled with fear. The fact that ‘I’ am a demon must be kept hidden—…

Now, beloved humans. Offer that despair to the “Demon [Me].”

Better than the webnovel!

That's all you should really need to hear about it if you have read the webnovel. If you haven't, then it's linked above in the "Related Series" section. You can also check it for more thorough reviews about the story. My main concern in my reviews has generally been the translation and reading experience.

As of about a week ago (July 24 2025), Seven Seas Entertainment (hereafter I will shorten to "7SE") has released the digital version of the official Volume 1 of this series. Volume 2 is... more>> set to come out on December 9 2025. Twice a year releases, such is the life of a light novel enjoyer. The quality is guaranteed since it's coming from an official publisher, I have zero complaints there. If you are going to try this out, you should stick to the official volumes.

I say that because the fan translation work by gadgetized panda ("GP" for short) leaves a lot to be desired.

Before even getting into the various small errors/inconsistencies in the text from GP's version, let me first rant about Site Navigation. Typically, when you go to a translator's site and click "Next Chapter", it goes to the next chapter. Makes sense. In GP's site, it doesn't do that. Instead it links to a paywalled version of the next chapter, even when its already published on the site anyway. So if you want to read Volume 2, the strategy is to open every single chapter listed here as a new tab and close it when you're done. It's really inconvenient.

Now, I was planning to do a side-by-side comparison of Volume 1 Official version by 7SE vs GP, but GP V1 is just gone. The links here go to a page that says the content is not there anymore. But the Volume 2 content from GP is still there for now. Here is a little comparison for how some important names differ between the two.

7SE: Liasteia has a daughter named Yulucia, born in the territory of Toure, located in the Holy Kingdom of Talitelud.

GP: Leeahsteia has a daughter named Eurushia, born in the territory of Tull, located in the Holy Kingdom of Talteld

The GP version is kinda bad with names and titles. For example, a different character named Eleanor is simultaneously referenced as both a Queen and a Princess Consort, mere sentences apart from each other. There are many cases like this. Some other errors include pronoun mixups (I/you, he/she) and random changes in spelling of names (Veo/Fer/Min -> Vio/Fel/Min, Taliteld -> Talteld). Weird sentences like "[...]I'll be a maid, but I'll also be a maid!". These are very small things but over time it does add up.

If you can wait the 6 months between each official volume release then you should. It's definitely worth it. If you can't, then I hope you can tolerate a bit of roughness.

--Actual story stuff:

It's been a long time since I read the webnovel. I got quite far but I never finished it. This light novel release allowed me to experience the story like it was the first time again. The author in the afterword of Vol1 said the plot did not change at all but they did improve the writing significantly. I will just assume that is true since I don't remember specifics of the WN progression. The art is also really nice. Yulucia looks so cute.

The webnovel version of this story is the author's first ever work, I think. It's amazing for a first novel. But I believe the LN, being written after the author got far more experience feels so much better to read. Might just be bias, I dunno, but there is just that refined vibe I get from the book. I really hope the author continues to succeed with their work. I am quite fond of their novels.

Yulucia is really a one of a kind character. A demon with a heart that loves humanity. The author rides this fine line to balance out the two completely opposing concepts of a Saint and a Demon. It's genuinely compelling. It's a bit hard to describe the way that Harunohi (the author) gets you immersed into the world they create. You just have to experience it for yourself. Then you too will become a Harunohi proselytizer.

So yeah. Book good. Yulucia ebic girlboss. Praise Haru (no) hi. (づ ᴗ _ᴗ) づ♡ <<less
