I started this when it was still ongoing translation, tried to MTL since the story is really good, but I also thought it was a pity to not fully enjoy this in its full glory since the translation is also good so I decided to wait for the completion. And I'm glad I did. The author is amazing, the story is amazing, and I also thank the amazing translator for sharing their talent and did a good job! <<less

The novel is ridiculous but it was good novel.

It's cute and fluffy. The small drama didn't affect the romance at all. Though there are plot holes its not that bad.

Highly recommended!

Just loved it!

The story mainly revolves around MC and ML. MC who is a fish tasked with ML. Their growth of relationship is also slow and steady. As a fish MC, it's full of fluff. After the truth revealed, it was full of love and dog food.

The only thing I hated is from chapters 50 to 60+ where MC will deny his feelings and run away from ML and thus hurting him. MC never fully says the truth about him but there was also a reason for this, yet I... more>> was somewhat frustrated and felt pity for ML. But later when everything is revealed, it felt good. I especially liked when MC and ML travelled to the modern time for 2 days.

Other than that, everything is good and children are even cuter. I liked the emperor who valued family. Worth reading!! <<less

Very lovely read from beginning to end. No drama, very few angst which gets resolved rather quickly. The cast of secondary characters is very likeable though simple (no deep backstory for them, since the story focuses heavily on the main couple). The plot is really simple to follow and the premise is interesting and fun. But what I like most in this story is the main couple. They are loving and their relationship is very, very healthy (a healthy bl couple?! whaaat?) in fact, they were so touching and caring... more>> towards each other that I found myself tearing up a few times. (god I'm lonely) No ab*se, no unnecessary disgusting r*pe/dubcon scenes between them. They are respectful and attentive to each other from beginning to end. Absolutely no drama just for the sake of drama. But best of all, is that the main couple *communicates* (and one of them is a mute, ha!) The rare moments there is some tension between them, it gets resolved in the same chapter.

The MC is okay. He's not the most interesting character, but he's still likeable. He can be slow at times, which is frustrating ngl BUT he's far from bring dumb. He has a mischievous side which is refreshing. He isn't your typical 20IQ transmigrated uwu protagonist. Also! He's not *dense* when it comes to his interest towards the ML. He isn't in denial about his sexuality, and he easily accepts his own feelings. It's great! Please, more of that in other transmigration stories! Also, no h*mophobia in this story, for people who are uncomfortable with that kind of stuff.

Now the ML, well... He's f*cking great. He's cold towards pretty much everyone except the MC, but isn't needlessly cruel. He's intelligent, open-minded, he can go from being a cute simp for his hubby to absolutely f*cking feral when said hubby is in danger, and that's huh, hot. He's also easily jealous, but not in an uncomfortable, toxic way. His jealousy is cute. Like a puppy that puffs up its fur and bares its tiny teeth when a stranger steps a lil too close to its owner. He's very loving and patient towards the MC. He never acts violently, never insults him, never gives him the cold shoulder. He's also adorable when it comes to uh, mature stuff. He's not your typical h**ny and pushy silent top. He's actually pretty naive about that kind of stuff. Sure he often *thinks* about it, but he never acts upon it. He pretty much always waits for the MC (who's a hornball) to make the first step, and it's neat!

All in all, a simple and enjoyable read. Don't expect a deep story full of ups and downs. 90% of it is pure fluff while the rest is plot and schemes coming from the few villains. Definitely worth a read if you enjoy cute bl stories.

Just two negative points:

  • The children... felt unnecessary. Sure they're cute and it's nice to read the MC and ML becoming parents but all that stuff about the eggs, lil fishies growing up etc, but the story would have been the exact same without them. I get it, bl readers tend to love malepreg, but I would have preferred they adopted or something in an extra chapter without children being part of the main story.
  • I have to be honest, the story became a little less interesting when the MC started to become powerful enough to completely skip his fish form. I mean, I read this for the premise of MC transmigrating into a fish, so when he just ends up being human and the story becomes your typical royalty/polical romance... a bit of a shame. But it was to be expected, MC couldn't stay as a carp a few hours a day forever. Sure at the end he can choose to transform whenever for as long as he can, but his progress seemed rushed.

Note : This is solely based on my viewpoint as a reader.

What I liked about this book

  • Extremely unique with all of my favourite elements of genres.
  • Also a good m-preg novel with cute children.
  • Good side-character dynamics.
What I have to say about this book

  • The character dynamic between the main couple is really sweet but I think they could have added some depth to it.
  • Some (and I mean ONLY A LITTLE BIT) of the plot development at the later stages felt a bit unnecessary and a bit forced.
Rating :... more>> 7.5/10 (Didn't leave such a deep impression on me but it was a good read. I would kneel to have more novels with plot like this too.) <<less

A treasure. I actually came to read this story due to the translator of this as they ready do a very good job on translations.

And of course not only the story was awesome, the translator did a very good on as usual.

The story and the world building in it was very well done.

The ending was extra satisfying as well.

Give it a shot, you wont be disappointed as not only this story has a good plot, the humour the translator manages to preserve from the original is awesome.

okay I am this close 🤏 on dropping this and makes me fear if transmigration really happened in real life cuz I dont want my IQ to drop like CRAZY. Srsly wut, I really dont like some author makes the characters makes s*upid decission for the sake of extending the story or whatever cause its reallllly annoying

but I'll still continue it since some says its very fluffy 😩

this better be worth it 😪

DEFINITELY A MUST-READ!!!

I just finished reading this novel and jumped right here to give the review because it's worthy of the 5 star rating from me. It's such a refreshing story for me and I enjoyed it very much, especially since I've gotten a little tired from reading other novels with too much dog blood drama.

The MC is a little s*upid at some parts, yes, but tbh I find that a little cute. The ML is very loyal to MC, he's also soooo sweet and caring for the MC, so... more>> much so that I can't stop myself from grinning at their interactions. XD

Overall, I liked the story very much that I finished it in a whole day. Kudos to the translator too for picking up this novel! They did a good job with the translation! ^^ <<less

Because all I care about is the interaction between MC and ML. They're too precious~

Cute and healthy relationship dynamics.

Issue: MC has the intelligence of a fish and only plot convenience saves him. Also, the explanation of events puts the reader on the same level of comprehension as the MC which was kinda off-putting — I felt as if I watching Dora the Explorer or something.

The side characters were fun, but they didn't have much depth and were only there to fulfill a role or two. In any case, the main characters did have character development and it was nice to see them together, fluff... more>> and awkwardness and all. Good read. <<less

Your usual Transmigration Novel but this time MC transmigrated into a Fish. I never thought one day I would find Fish this cute. It was hella cute (/ω＼). I love the whole Fish family.

This is the best Mpreg novel with good amount of child raising I have ever read.

Plot: The actual task of MC was to change tyrant nature, for which he has to win tyrant heart. The story is like your typical ancient/historical novel with palace drama and a bit face slapping event.

Character:

I personally love ML so much. He was suppose to be tyrant but he end up changing for better into such a lovely person. Despite being Possessive and quickly getting jealous he have never ever forced MC instead he dotes on MC and treat and respect MC with love and care. He always put MC before himself.

MC is naive that is not annoying but cute. He is not OP like your typical MC but he's still strong in his own way. He literary slap people faces with his tail. I love how MC is the one to take initiative for physical intimate most of the time.

The villians are basically all hungry for power. They are all hateful but some of are very detestable, especially 6th prince. ... more>>

The moment it was said that he send his Childhood sweetheart to ML to Lure him, I knew he would be the most detestable villian in this novel. f*ck it, He even tried to kill his wife with unborn baby to save himself..... how low can you go.

PS: I kinda suspected him to be not the Emperor child, he's so disgusting and it turns out it's true. He's not the Emperor child. I kinda wished they have revealed about it before he died. It would have worth seeing his face when he find out he's not the Emperor child.

Though hateful villian I kinda a bit like the gufei with cat. she's not good to other but she was atleast good to her son and cat.

her story with cat at the end kinda touch my heart. The relationship portrayed was so beautiful. I love how the author didn't made her change into good person.... she's still a villian but we got a glimps of her good side toward the one she care.

Romance:

Though ML is Mute and MC is Fish and for first few chapter they weren't able to talk the story doesn't lack in fluff at all. Even when they were just a Master and Pet Fish, the sweetness and fluffyness was all over. The slow romance between MC and ML is so f*cking good and the way it develop to such a healthy relationship with equal footing is so worth envying.

Others:

I love the Mpreg element. The anxiety and tension MC had was very realistic.

It very rare to see pregnant male being scared or tense or anxious during pregnancy period in Bl, especially when it's your first time with such situation or when the world you are from is not Mpreg world.

I love how we were able to see MC giving birth in his both form (Fish and Human).

The Babies were just wholesome filling warmth everywhere. Bao#1, Bao#2, Bao#3, Bao#4 and snow bao, even the relationship between the Babies is wholesome and adorable.

The reason behind ML mutism, Personally for me I find it very well written. The cure for ML mutism was not just randomly solved for HE, it was more like preplan plot and the person behind turn out to be the actual real main villian.

Also, The main boss was actually right there. I total didn't see that coming.

I never thought that concubine zhang to be the main villian.... well it's actually lou lan princess acting as concubine zhang but still who would have thought that she would be the main villian. When it was said that the main villian might be someone from lou lan I thought it was Chu but it was our docline concubine zhang. She always appear as meek and weak concubine. The way she often reminisce with Emperor about empress (as she was empress maid) I thought she had good relationship with empress and so I never doubted her but damn She was just acting. She deserve an oscar award.

Overall:

This was such an entertaining novel. I laughed and even cried in some scene. The genuine love between MC and ML and their family of 6. I really love the way it ended.... not rushed but not draged out too. And the extra with trip to the mordern world..... just love it.

Lastly, thanks to the translator for translating this novel ❤️. This was very entertaining. <<less

This is one of the most delightful stories I've read. It is fantastical and warm, with some comedy, romance, family, intrigue. Bear in mind, this story is bonkers. So many aspects of the story are off-the-wall, but it somehow works and creates such a fun book.

Fluffy, cute and light hearted novel. Both the gong and the shou are smart and very sweet! I love how they supported each other and watched each other's back everytime. There's a lot of funny moments as well. And don't get me started with the babies! Arghhhhh!!!! Oh dear, my poor heart! Bao #1, Bao #2, Bao #3 and the cutie patootie Bao #4!!! Opps also snow Bao! Story 9.5/10

But, at least in my opinion, it has a pretty sad, pitiful, miserable end. Why?

Because in the end Lin Yu turned to the very thing that hurt him in the beginning - a scheming, unforgiving, cold-hearted noble. Did the people punished by him deserve their fates? Was it just?

On the surface, yes. Actually no. Read and think about the fate of the original protagonist. Or the 2nd prince's mother. They weren't even bad people per se - a little dumb, a little misguided, yes, but not bad. Hurt by this savage ancient world, and trying to defend themselves the only way they knew.

Looking at Lin Yu and that Jiang dude getting on a high horse and pretending they protect their family while actually being pretty inhumane and delivering suffering left and right... I felt miserable for liking such shallow, dumb people at all.

Because in the end they were not a cinch better.

And, given Lin Yu's knowledge of the modern world...

Way, way worse.

Although there's a system, it mostly stays quiet. While the story requires huge suspension of disbelief (see: "Fluffy BL story about a man who transmigrates into a fish in ancient China), lots of coincidental luck (see: "the mute royal prince master who loves him") I'm giving the author and excellent translator 5 stars because I can't believe they took this totally wacky premise, ran with it, and made a complete, coherent story. <<less

The epitome of ML to MC: "you're s*upid, I like that in a man." The MC's denseness borders on aggravating but because the ML is so patient it ends up being funny and cute most of the time. It's a fluffy story, the ending made me smile despite usually disliking mpreg stories. It's worth reading, just keep in mind that it's more of a crackfic most of the time.

There's only one correction I would like to make; which is this novel is filled with Fish Food, NOT Dog Food lmao< (￣︶￣) ↗✨✨✨

Other than that, it got what I came for; fluff with plot holes (◍•ᴗ•◍) ✧*。Not every story needs 189 lvl IQ plots to be enjoyed.

A fluffy slice-of-life-ish novel. Humorous, MC is a fish, then pretends to be a fish demon.

System has no reason for existing, not explained in the end.

Drags a bit long in the later half, had to skim a lot.

Women weren't super demonized, thankfully, MC cared somewhat about equality.
