Six months ago, tens of thousands of black phantom towers appeared all over the world, floating above the cities. Chemists, physicists, religious people… all of them could do nothing.

Six months later, people became used to the towers and no longer paid them attention.

One day, Tang Mo saw a flying insect crash into it instead of going through it. The next day, a sharp and clear child-like voice issued an announcement to all humans.

“Ding dong! November 15th, 2017. The earth is online.”

The black tower’s three iron-clad rules:

1. Everything is explained by the black tower.

2. 6 o’clock to 18 o’clock is the game time.

There may be few romantic scenes, but the plot is well thought out, clever, suspenseful, perfect! The relationship between ML and MC is the best I've ever read. It develops gradually, they're partners, they respect each other, no gamesmanship or "no one touches my wife" style hatred of the neighborhood. Very good supporting characters!

Personally, I think this book was okay. I remember starting and getting semi hooked on the wonderous plot - until I got lost and turned my attention elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, I love the book - five stars. But I just wasn't all too satisfied with the lack of intimate scenes and the slow-burn romance. Throughout reading the book a second time when I picked it up back again, I was amazed by the games. Yes, they were hard to follow but I felt a sense of thrill and... more>> the urge to solve the puzzles before it was revealed in the story. The author was very creative in this aspect. The book had humour, it had mystery, it had danger. And I can assure you that reading this book is not a waste of time. Thank you to the author, to the translator, and to novel updates. <<less

The best unlimited flow BL I have read to date. Great World building and development of both main and supporting characters. MC and ML truly felt like equals which can be rather rare in BLs and both are very smart, reasonable and likeable. Very slow burn romance, but it makes sense considering the apocalyptic setting. Nonetheless, the chemistry is there throughout. The ending and explanation to how the earth went online may not have been the most well fleshed out, but that only makes a small part of the story.

I liked the characters and arcs but I felt like the story was a bit shallow even with the unholy amounds of world buiding. It felt a bit draggy in parts but overall the instances/games were very clever. It's plot heavy and romance is a not the main focus which I usually adore but I just felt like there was no progress at all? It just felt like a given all throughout the novel and it did not connect with me at all.

It’s lot of plot and light on romance, which is fine with me. At first the use of real fictional characters (ie Disney, Nintendo etc) was strange to me, but makes sense for the overall plot. The author comes up with some really complex concepts for games, the resolution of which you may have to read again to understand. This may be off putting for some, but it was a good read nonetheless.

That was actually really nice!

The plot and the suspenses and all of the games were really interesting and fun. I am a sucker for things (plot points) connecting so well from the start, and this one actually does! Which is awesome!

The comedy got me wondering if I could die by a second handed embarassement lmao. A really nice one!

This a 4+ star but let me tell you that if you're looking for romance as the main point this is not the novel.

MC and ML don't hide their feelings (when they finally recognize each other) but it's not their main situation since they're literally in the middle of the apocalypse and everyone is literally trying to kill each other. So yeah, not a great start for some lovely moments.

There are still moments of tension and they feel a palpable attraction to each other but don't get your hopes too... more>> high. I like both MC and ML but they're focused on surviving and understanding the new situation of the world they barely have time to sleep.

If you're more into action, puzzle solving and bad*ss MC/ML then this book is good even for people who don't like bl. I was one of those who was dissppointed by the lack of more "dog food" but it doesn't make it a bad novel.

Just think of this novel of another end of the world trope with bl undertones. Also MC/ML moments makes giggle so much so I wish there were more moments of chatting and banter between them but then again people-dying-and-killing-each-other stuff kinda make it hard :v <<less

I'm glad I didn't drop this. Just a reminder, some chapters in 30-50+ are boring. But don't give it up right away because I'm sure you'll regret it. There are a lot of redundancies, a lack of logic, and confusing contents but don't let it hinder you. This story is really interesting and great. You'll also love many of the supporting characters, not just the MC and ML.

Their abilities and props' names and uses are strange and funny but in some ways, it's useful too. The games are sometimes boring... more>> and confusing but often, exciting and thrilling. Oh, I'll tell you now. There's a lot of blood and gore scenes here. And the monsters are all scary.

All of them are from fantasy stories but in the games, they are bosses, and their behaviors are opposite from their real characters.

I can't understand how the games are played by the players but I didn't bother with that. I just focused on how MC completes them.

MC and ML are not very OP but of course their strong and smart. The romance is a really slow burn but the story is still good of course. There is a lot of fighting and brain usage which is exciting. The world-building and plot is so great

I really like MC's ability. It's not that powerful but it's very useful.

He can collect other's ability in various ways (collecting ML's ability is so hard for him and he even has to give up his *you-know-what*. Lol. But of course he loves it. Tang Mo: That's my greatest secret!)

I loved reading this story so much! I really enjoyed the whole idea of the tower games & their associated puzzles were so interesting! Even if I couldn't work out the answer while reading, the novel clearly explained every reasoning afterwards (which I appreciate bc sometimes I have a hard time grasping the concept when it's kinda brushed over).

It is good, characters are very likeable and feel three dimensional. Binge read it in a week (give or take a few days).

I wish Tang Mo's (MC) ability got a little bit more explored tho... or maybe just the abilities in general? No matter, it was an enjoyable read and if you're looking through reviews to decide if you want to read it then I have only one (1) thing to say: why aren't you reading it yet?

YAYYY another action/plot-heavy novel that I enjoyed a lot. I liked it more than GUEE surprisingly and honestly, everything that happened wasn't even that plot twisty. The romance is kind of slow-burn not really (bc MC liked the ML before they even met, he just didn't know and when they did meet, it wasn't romantic or sped run <-- not spoiling, you find out quickly). I cried unexpectedly and laughed and freaked out and exclaimed and yeah, you should read it. I hate long novels mainly bc I get bored... more>> halfway or it gets repetitive, which kind of did happen but the characters and quirkiness were enough to get me back into it again. This one is all worth the length tbh.

ANOTHER SURPRISING THING is that the novel somehow pulled off me getting attached to the characters without realising. It's only after certain occurrences that it hits that I'm actually attached to them. <<less

Love, love, LOVE this story. I will state right away though that this is not a romance heavy story by any means. With that being said, I still can't deny the fact that I absolutely love this couple! There might not be a lot of romance and fluff, but the storyline is very well thought out and interesting to read. To be honest given the premise of the story, it would be a little unbelievable if the players were just taking time out for romance.

I really enjoyed all the effort... more>> the author clearly put into fleshing out all the characters, main and otherwise. They give you a very twisted look into the darkness that some people have just barely contained within them, but balances that out with the love and respect for life that is contained in others.

While there are definitely some ups and downs, both the MC and ML are fairly OP, so there isn't a huge sense of crisis too often during the story. Some of the games they play are pretty interesting, others are a little confusing at times, but most are explained pretty well by the end of the game.

One of my favorite parts of the story was reading about everyone's different abilities, escpeially once Tang Mo (MC) collected them in his very cheap little book of abilities.

If you are into the apocalyptic kind of storyline, this is definitly for you! Don't expect to much romance, but a mature and trusting relationship slowly built through out the story. All in all it's still very sweet to read.

This was a proper gem. Like the plot and world building was awesome! It made me immersed and addicted tbh and the characters were well fleshed out.

I love Tang Mo, the MC. He's calm, smart and very strong in his own ways and how he didn't ab*se his ability just showed how he had morals and principles.

ML was nice too, I really liked him. They both have a mutual relationship of trust and loyalty which I for one ABSOLUTELY ADOREE!!

Although I took a star off bc the romance was really... more>> lacking in that department but the plot makes up for it and so do the characters.

You'll find many characters who you might love or might hate, I certainly found plenty hehe. The monsters in the black tower were great as well!

Highly recommended and there's too much stuff to say about it but it's good. <<less

This is my first time reviewing a book (sorry if it's messy) but clearly, this book is very good. I really like the intelligence of MC and ML and other characters every time facing the game from the black tower. The author also described each scene in detail so that I could really imagine the scene and the setting well. The character of the residents of the black tower also left a good and unique impression on me that I can't forget until now. This novel greatly shocked me woww I loved it. I had great expectations since it's a really well-known novel but reading it was definitely one of the best things I've done.

*****The plot

The plot is without no doubt the best thing of this novel. I loved the games I loved the instances and the best thing of it all was that I lovedddd black tower monsters lol It was seriously well-thought how all the games were really linked to one another. The fight scenes were so exciting the abilities being different... more>> for every person was really awesome I liked how like I said before all the things were linked to each other like one prop would be used in the next instance or the relationship with the black tower monsters would change their fate etc the end could be better explained maybe for some people like me lol there were parts that weren't really explained clearly and it is a bit frustrating not gonna lie I would like to know everything but maybe it is because I am s*upid that I couldn't really understand everything : (I do agree with the comments saying how there was so much of a luck factor in this novel. For example the props that Mario Hat gave or Mosaics matches etc these things couldn't be acquired if there was no TangMo but on the other hand in the novel they said that for every game there are a few different ways to clear it so the only possibility wasn't the choices that TangMo made maybe Fu Wenduo for example could have done things the other way idk it is left to our imagination the games were hard to understand but definitely made sense after it was explained and it was so interesting to see that the rules was the most important clue to clear the instances/games

*****Characters

I actually really liked our MC and ML they are both very OP ofc but it didn't bug me that much I still enjoyed it their understanding of each other was really great and sweet. You understand while reading that they are interested in each other but it takes 200 chapters for them to kiss and you only get 2 sentences which indirectly implies that they've fcked : (this novels strength really isn't the romance part of it since there are so little scenes of them being together alone but still you can feel how deeply they trust and love each other. The side characters were really great I personally really liked our little psychopath he was the most interesting character of them all and that twist of him at the end.... I really liked the character Shanshan but idk she felt a bit too OP even for me like she is TOO intelligent that all her answers are true it doesn't feel the same as TangMo or Fu Wenduo figuring out things and the Chinese characters being too OP and the foreigners being usually not that powerful was a bit interesting I mean ofc the author can write the story however they want and could also boast their nationality but for example

I really enjoyed it loved how exciting fun and mysterious it was. There is so little romance I wished there was more. I honestly love it although most of the time HONESTLY, I see how difficult it was to think because the MC is super duper smart and same as the ML.

I enjoyed it and was happy at the same time sad that's finished. Beware of the instances and black tower games, YOUR MINDS ARE GONNA GET TESTED!!!

This novel is really so goooooood!!! It's such a long read but definitely worth it!

Every part of the story is well planned. The abilities and props are really cool, you would think they're probably useless but it really helps a lot. The games are explained so well! I feel like my mind exploded! Even the notes in Tang Mo's abilities books and the notes on the props are really amusing. The story is serious but there are some scenes I find really hilarious.

I really like the characters. I can't choose from them if you would ask who my favorite is to be honest. All of them has their own charms. But I really like Xiao Fu, that kid is really amusing and funny.

The author did really well in writing this story. I would not be able to do this even if I rack off my mind.

All in all this is 5/5!Thank you so much author and translator!!! This is a masterpiece (☆▽☆) I'm really speechless T▽T sob sob
