This is an extremely fun read. It's just fun, if you're looking for something more besides fun and vague science, look elsewhere.

The basic premise is an isekai, except the world MC comes from (Earth) and the world he ends up in look very similar. Now extremely light spoiler time, MC comes from a very futuristic earth, which results in the story actually being about trying to unravel the inner workings of two worlds. MC can reproduce technology that others can only make with superpowers, and it takes him (and everyone... more>> else) a while to realize that means his technological level is ridiculously high and everyone else is basically using magic cheats to get the same results. So MC begins to study how superpowers work, how magical girls work, how magic works, and walks away with insane revelations each time.

Very entertaining, and also doesn't suffer from "oh my god I can't believe it" fatigue like other OP character stories do. He's not s*upid or insanely arrogant, and he's not really a genius either. He's just a PhD Engineer from Sci-Fi times with a bit of an evil streak, now that there aren't any more pesky scientific study regulations.

The characters are fun, there's an in-universe explanation for the gathering of nearly insane quirky characters, the world is pretty interesting, and the plot is constantly progressing, without having any offs and ons.

The two very minor annoyances: Romance undercurrents, as the story has the trope of "women fall in love with him" for story reasons and not like a realistic relationship. This is worsened by the fact that MC is nearly as*xual but too polite (or rather afraid of everyone with superpowers) to turn people down properly. Oh well, still better than most. Second, slight issues with the translation, mostly pronouns being mixed up, or names changing slightly over time. These are extremely minor and I didn't have issues with the sentence structure or understanding what was happening, but if you hate that kind of thing, here's your warning. <<less

This novel is episodic, so it naturally shifts from one arc to another, rather than following a traditional, linear narrative path.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you mashed up some of the most popular tropes in one novel? Think magical girls, medieval fantasy magic, demons/cultists, sci-fi, heroes vs villains, isekai, world travel (kinda) , and misunderstandings all thrown into a blender. That's exactly what you get with this novel. Ngl, after reading the first five chapters, I wasn't expecting much. But as the story unfolded, I was hooked.... more>> The world-building, plot, and characters aren't just good, they're wildly entertaining.

Now, is this novel a masterpiece? I wouldn't go that far. It's not particularly deep or profound, but it excels at what it sets out to do: entertain. The characters might not have the most intricate development, and the plot can be predictable at times, but the way it all comes together makes for a fun and addictive read. As a piece of pure entertainment, it really delivers.

I'd rate it an 8/10 for the sheer enjoyment factor. If you're planning to dive in, though, make sure to read it from King MTL. Cyborg TL's version? Feels like MTL, it's not that bad, but I personally think the former is better.

PS. Very good world-building and an interesting power system. Also Magia Baiser is here for some apparent reason.

For those who gave up reading before reaching Chapter 40, the reason the protagonist isn't getting stronger is because he lacks the essential conditions for growth. He's literally just an ordinary human armed with sci-fi knowledge, without any special abilities to help him advance. And building strong machines for himself can backfire, so he's not willing to take the risk just to get stronger. <<less

MC from a futuristic Earth. MC transported to another world where superpower is common place and having non is disability. In this new world science is far behind, probably on our world level. Instead they use superpowers to create things making their technological level weird.

So our MC is genius who thinks that it is ordinary and creates a mind-blowing inventions.

Story looks interesting, but current translation is MTL without proofreading. I'm still not sure if MC is male or female.

Great series to read for Scientist Archetype MC who came from completely different earth than ours.

An interesting point is that how they setting has resemblance with Project Moon-Verse (26 Cities controlled by Corporations.) each city has special ties and rules that our MC will surely put his grubby hands on.

but unlike project moon it has a more light-hearted atmosphere.

An entertaining novel to read. Almost like a comedy combined with some random slice of life, weirdness, and sci-fi sprinkled throughout the novel. So in all, a great novel to pass the time mindlessly.

The characters are fun, especially the main character who although might seem weak, compromises it with his intelligence and knowledge which makes him a fun character full of life, there's an in-universe explanation for the gathering of nearly insane quirky characters, the world is pretty interesting, and the plot is constantly progressing, without having any offs and... more>> ons.

The one downside is that the romance is a bit slow and pushed aside.

I'd rate it an 8/10 for the sheer enjoyment factor. <<less

I like it. Like other reviews said, it's basically a wish fulfillment story, but the wish fulfillment part isn't too overdone and it's mostly just a slice-of-life.

The basic premise is that a human scientist from a futuristic Earth gets dropped in a world like My Hero Academia. There are heroes, villains, magical girls, etc. The tech, however, is pretty bad because a whole bunch of their "modern" technology is just junk propped up by superpowers. To our futuristic Earth scientist, these guys don't even know how to make basic circuits.... more>> Thus, literally anything he makes is like a hundred years ahead of that world.

The story is pretty light-hearted since the MC gets picked up by one of the most powerful groups in the world at the very beginning, and so basically has an infinite budget for his inventions. The whole story thus basically revolves the shenanigans he gets into and how his absurd inventions rock the world. The scientist is also mysteriously skilled at literally every single discipline so honestly just imagine he's Tony Stark if Tony Stark was a chill guy lol. <<less

This is just a wish fulfilment fantasy of a middle aged scientist. You have multiple female characters having their problems solved by the tech that MC builds. Usually, there should be some sort of explanation even if unbelievably inadequate for the tech but the author just randomly throws complex quantum mechanics words to give brain rot explanations. We don’t know more details about this superpower world or how the MC adjusts to the surrounding.

The story progression from the very beginning doesn’t give us any stakes or challenges for the MC to face instead we have:

  1. MC getting adopted by a rich spoiled kid. He only struggled for a day without a job. No going hungry for days, no nuance in how the world treats people’s without special abilities. I would imagine that if a person didn’t have a special abilities, they would be studied on or experimented on because they are so rare in this world. Also the struggle to find a job is shown in a brief paragraph.
  2. He miraculously has all the knowledge of futuristic tech. Like in his previous world he didn’t specialise in a specific field? No details about how his situation was in his previous world? What was his relationship like with others.
  3. All the people he encounters in this world are either very attractive ladies or prepubescent teens girls? His relationship with the boss character itself is very creepy. What do you mean you find her or the “evil magic girl” cute. As an adult you should be up an arms about why they have little to no regard for the law.
  4. He dismisses all the actions that the “evil organisation” does. It’s like saying your situation is not worse than actual lawless zones where real calamities are claiming hundreds of lives. Also why it the salary of heros so low? Hello, they are people with high risk jobs and I imagine that the government will be offering a substantial salary to keep the heros working for the government.
  5. Also, there is no explanation about the current tech of this sci-fi world with super-powered individuals. How is the job process like? How are the schools structured? How is a ten year old able to run a successful conglomerate? Why is the only city with make believe villains able to ward of the real threat from outer space
  6. Considering alien creatures also invade this world, how is alien tech not studied here? Why is the tech still stagnant only due to integration of superpowers. I would imagine, some advancement should have been made for power sources since people can use their superpowers to operate tech. Assuming superpowers are not unique but have categories.

There are absolutely no stakes involved with the story. Even if this story was written as a slice of life fiction, there should be some sort of silly challenge to make the story a little interesting.

I am clearly not the target audience since I didn’t see any charismatic characters in the story, be it male of female. The MC is just a cardboard with OP knowledge of things for a supposedly futuristic earth. I don’t find myself rooting for anyone in this novel. <<less
