Whenever it comes up, I recall and revisit this ordinary academy novel, where I’ve ended up as an unnamed minor character.

To use my abilities, I have to complete missions, but it seems I need to interfere with the storyline to accomplish them.

Honestly, the start and the end feel different, even the author realized that they turned their characters into just worrying about the MC—it’s pretty sad, since we know there was lots of threads introduced early on that were just abandoned.

For example:

Spoiler

around ch. 40-ish the MC claimed to see the future; where does that go? No where!

Afterwards, we are introduced to the Luna’s (MC’s body) family, but there isn’t much there besides the backstory—since later we find out:

Spoiler

The dad and brother supposedly died in battle, but have actually turned into demons due to a contract. This all happens at around ch. 300, with not much foreshadowing.

[collapse]

Then at around ch.120, Luna becomes:

Spoiler

Then Saint of Light, which was only mentioned in the OG story, but not shown cause Kang Juhyuk was too OP for the Demon King. Then people go on the search for the Saint, which people around the MC hide cause they don’t want her to be taken away. At around ch. 200, it gets revealed—but nothing much changes. Then the author realizes they haven’t been to the academy in a while, so they do test in dungeons that were super boring.

There was also a part where the MC becomes a partial demon through a ritual around ch. 150, which has her unlock the Demon Gacha—boosting her demon abilities. It increases her physical abilities, which is a nice improvement from her originally being physically weak compared to other students, but worries that people would attack her due to being corrupted by demons.

[collapse]

You’d wonder why the academy hasn’t shutdown, despite the constant attacks by the demons. Even the setting shows concern over it, yet it goes no where, again.

There’s also lots of misunderstandings, which are pretty annoying—even the author mentioned how they found themselves in a mess trying to untie it:

Spoiler

MC mentioned how her ability (Gacha) comes at a cost of anything she possesses. Only one time, she uses her Gacha at the cost of memories, which when she was pressed on what she gave up when an attack event occurred—she didn’t respond, since she’d have to say she gave up her past-life’s memories. So the friends come up with that she lost her memories due to her obscureness of not remembering her past (before possession) as Luna.

It goes on for a while before she finally finds out her friends think she spends her memories, and reaffirms them that she can use anything as a cost, not only her memories.

In the final battle:

She does use all of her past memories in the Gacha to win against the Demon King. It was an outcome predicted when the plot was introduced.

But gains not only all her memories as the Korean back, but the original Luna’s memories as well for defeating the Demon King as awarded by the system. Of course, this was at the cost of a Gacha of OP abilities that could literally transcend reality, but it’s obvious that memories would’ve been chosen. I just wish the MC would’ve lived on as Luna, since they’ve always been shown in their minds how much of their Korean past has blinded them from their relationships of the people in this world’s life.

[collapse]

Overall, I did like the story, but it lost so much potentially and depth they had in the side characters. The world building lackluster, and a pretty cliche story. At least Luna is pretty cute though, just look at her emotes in Novelpia! <<less
