As a newborn vampire, Luo ZhouZhou’s instincts are ingrained in his genes making him embark on a constant lifelong quest for a matching mate. His mate’s blood must be warm and sweet, with the scent of red caltrop fruit. However, after almost twenty years of searching without any luck, Luo ZhouZhou felt himself withering away until he traveled to an unknown time and space.

Getting accustomed to his new human life (not human, vam-pi-re!) is far from easy, but when he ends up at the office of the Bayard district’s police station, he finally finds the smell he has been searching for all this time.

Only a whiff and I know he’s the mate I’ve been looking for!

In a strange place with pheromones and secondary genders, the naive Luo ZhouZhou, who knows nothing about the workings of this ABO world, has to find the owner of that scent. And there’s also an omega killer on the loose!

What are omegas and alphas? Some kind of personal s*aves? If only this General Chu Feng would leave this vampire in peace so he can fulfill his lifelong quest, dammit!

I'm just coming here to say that after re-reading a lot of mc's seemingly s*upid decisions make sense for his characterisation and it shouldn't stop you from enjoying this great book. Semi-major spoilers below

When that criminal was following him and wanted to r*pe him, MC wasn't scared even as he recognized someone was stalking him. Why? Because he was in his self-delusion arc, he still thought he was a vampire and acted like one. So why, as a vampire, would he be scared of a mere mortal? Even when the general shows up and forces the criminal to confess what he wanted to do to the MC, he still wasn't scared; he just started to kick the sh*t outta the criminal. And when his powers come back and he really starts kicking ass, you realise that as a vampire he's essentially invincible.

So even though he's a little silly, from the mc's own perspective of himself he's still the biggest shark in the ocean and he treats himself and everything around him accordingly. <<less

Totally called it when I saw that Surprise! The Supposed Talent Show Was Actually–?! Was a recommendation. Altho I got a bit confused in the middle or near end cause it really seems like Luo Zhouzhou transmigrated. Anw, it was a really good read, MC both had their sad past and they were both honest with each other and I liked that. I like that LZZ got his vampire powers back and he really was the cure for the sunset face, which I think is a really horrible disease. It's cliche that the president is the main villain but well, it's still very nice. General Luo Pei was really working hard hahhaa. Qi Fen, well I'm happy for him. Hmm, I love LZZ. I also like chu feng very much. It's different cause LZZ has been really honest from the start hahaha and again I loved how OP LZZ was near the end hehehee

One of The best sci-fi/paranormal BL ever. The world building is great and the way the author and translators set the scene. The romance is just so friggin perfect with a whole lot of showing and less telling than most BL novels out there. I just wish there was smut lol but even without it, the implied fade to black was still pretty sweet. Honestly, I mostly can't get over how well the author (and translators) developed the romance by showing it in the little things that slowly built up... more>> over time. I've read this twice and will most likely be happy enough to reread this again in the future. <<less

This author is a real gem—managed to put a new, creative and reasonable spin on the hybrid genre. Love also how she (?) engineers a strange and beautiful equality to the OTP in this and a previous work I read (the virtuous omega one). Not perfect because not all the twists and turns in the plot have a great pay off, but at least they are daring and entertaining. Well worth the read when you don't feel like dropping more brain cells than necessary.

Give this a shot, you won't regret it. 😊 Maybe bear with the MC for the first few chapters. I was initially very pissed off at him too. But I didn't stop reading because the story was intriguing, and I can't help but be hopeful that MC isn't what he seems to be at first read. Turns out, MC became one of the unforgettable unique characters in my list. 😊

So, what was Chen Sihan secret? The killer threatened him with something concerning his identity, but until the end of the story I didn't catch anything related to it.

And what happened to the vampire patriarch and the wise man?

These plot-holes needed to be filled 😅

One of the most unreliable narrator MC, nicely said he was very naive, but I thought he was gullible. I persevered to the first 20 chapters to continue reading to adapt to MC line of thought.

ahhhhhhh that twist on his memory~ and a Fighter MC for you! Go our lil vampire!!! His like a baby at first only thinking his a vampire but there come ours ML. H e care and always reminds MC to be careful that he should also consider he's an omega. BUT a powerful omega vampire. That soft side of ML who doesn't want to shatter MC hope. There's good fighting/angst and some past conflicts. A very good novel to read! Try it and you'll laugh and follow mc's journey. Especially... more>> one of the conflicts at the end about some disease huhuhu I feel the heartache for ml. He only shows his weak side to MC. <<less

This is an amazing ABO, one that has solid ML with a past and a adorable/strong MC. There really is no cliche so it makes it refreshing from other typical ABO plots, the dog food scenes make the single hounds cry for a partner like MC or ml.

So if your wondering whether to give it a go, I suggest you do; the plot is not dragged and the important strings are tied (tbh I don't think there were any loose strings) and the romance scenes make you yearn for a... more>> love like this.

A well-made story, interesting plot, alright characters, nice pacing and flow. There are some aspects that I just don’t personally like which is why I took away a star, like the vagueness surrounding what ZhouZhou really is (as well as the ‘chief’ and the disappeared people suffering from sunset face) and what if he never turned back into a vampire (if you could even use that word) ? He would be a useless omega. His sudden transformation back into a vampire felt like a way to move the plot forward... more>> without actually putting any work into it. I really don’t like the omega’s treatments throughout the entire novel and the discrimination is never really addressed at all, it’s just now ZhouZhou is a vamp so he doesn’t have to worry about what every other omega in the story is suffering through. It felt like a cop-out, it felt like the author did it so we could see both the weak omega as well as the gold-fingered protag, of course the MC could never actually be that weak so he has to have some method to get back to being literally invincible. Yawn.

The story did a good job balancing the fantasy, crime, and romance aspects in a way that makes it blend together well rather than just jumping from genre to genre. Although it was painful to read about the abo situation and the multiple r*pe/mu*ders and attempted r*pe, it did a great job overall in keeping me interested, I was always curious as to what would happen next. I’m glad it had a happy ending. I wouldn’t really say this is something to read at the dinner table and I’m not interested in reading it again, but it was thrilling, funny, and worth reading through to the end. <<less

Ok, it was good (great even) until 20 chapters before it ended.

The idea is unique, the couple is nice, and it's easy to read. The fight scenes are boring and cliché. On the last 20ch, there are plot holes. The ending is unsatisfying since it has no romance.

This.. Is AMAZING. I love the suspense, the mystery, the dog-feeding moments, and MC's tiger (vampire) tooth.

The mystery keeps me on edge and excited all throughout. I agree that this is a unique take on transmigration (?) tropes.

Tbh, at first, I thought that MC's parents' reaction or rather lack of reaction about MC's behaviour was a plot hole.. BUT IT'S NOT. MC's mystery will be explained all at the end. Although, I still wonder what's the truth behind the wise man's identity.. He's the most mysterious out of all tbh.

I love this novel, it went completely against my expectations. Great read, I couldn't write a more detailed review because I have no time. But I highly recommend this. Must read. I love this.

Great job EXR for another greattranslation. Kudos to the Author. I love this book. 5 stars.

To be honest, vampire, ABO, transmigration...I hesitated when starting this novel, but so far I'm really surprised! MC's ignorance of his "new" (but not so new) world made hilarious misunderstandings... and the mysteries have kept me curious.

And certainly the translation from ExiledRebelsScanlations is no doubt excellent! I also read mangas' translations from there.

Happy ending. Besides the more "serious" plot... it's fun that the story is divided in two parts where in the first, Chu Feng protected Zhou Zhou, but in the second, it's reversed, the supernatural Zhou Zhou protected his... more>> Alpha. Lot of actions as in action movie! <<less

This danmei is funny, cute and it has an intriguing mystery! I wish this one will be more recognized in the future. I love the MC and ML, they truly love and care for each other. The ML is one of the most doting ML I've ever read in a danmei so far, as for the MC he is really cute and brave. He turns up to be really badass in the late chapters of the novel.

Besides the incredible main couple relationship, the relationship of Zhou Zhou and his family... more>> warmed my heart. It was nice to see such a devoted father, he does anything to protect his family. <<less

Basically, a light funny piece with some plotholes and incoherences, but very entertaining as the comedy and the action is quite good, and the mystery of Zhouzhou's past was quite unexpected. MC is not simply a transmigrated vampire. His background is more complex than that. This is the type of novel that adapts well to a movie script or donghua series. The highlight of this novel for me is the cute teasing and funny dialogues between the protags. MC's naivete, obliviouness and straightforwardness is the source of plenty funny conversations.... more>> For those who don't like naive child-like characters might be annoyed but MC does change over time and the story is really worth reading. <<less

This is a good book. I think the main reason people are so quick to drop it is because the MC is an unreliable narrator. Its like we have to stick with how how he thinks and because his narration is, well, unreliable it's really hard to put up with him.

It does get better eventually, but I really don't have the patience to stick with the MC anymore. It's drags a bit, but it's also one of those books you'd read if you have nothing else to read, are procrastinating... more>> with or simply bored out your mind. If you're looking for something that's action filled, this isn't it and there's not a heavy emphasis on the ABO aspect -which I liked and the relationship is sweet with a good, slow development too.

I don't know how to change the rating but it's a 3.5/5. <<less

A vampire transmigrating to an ABO?? Consider me baited.

This novel’s pretty fun, very fluffy, & even has a decent mystery embedded in its storyline. The execution wasn’t terrible, but there was an increased number of plot-holes towards the end. Did I hate it? No! It was beguiling enough to keep me hooked to the very end. I adored the main CP & I enjoyed how much of a gentleman ML was when it came to MC’s heat. There was always consent! That’s something admirable in ABOs.

This is a very good story with a solid and thick plot. The writing style and the translation is good, so it's very nice to read. Every chapter is packed with mysteries, and everything will be resolved at the end.
