Seo Dan-ah, a former FPS pro-gamer, somehow found herself ensnared by a game called Idol Training Simulation. It seemed the only way to return to reality was to witness the game’s ending.

Overall decent, but lacks the depth it would need to be truly outstanding.

Compared to other idol survival stories it sets itself apart by adding the aspect of inheriting all social relationships from the game character, but none of the memories. So the protagonist has to figure out her relationship to the other contestants and behave accordingly.

And her awareness of the situation as a game further complicates treating the others as people rather than characters - especially ones that she doesn't expect to debut from her memories of playing the game... more>> from a different perspective.

But while those are good concepts, I can't help but feel that the writing to capture them is lacking.

And while her relationships may need some time to "recover" to a regular depth, there's no emotional internal monologue to compensate for that either. While I find the protagonist's behaviour and assessment of the situation understandable rationally, there's just not enough information to evoke empathy to her character, nor the game avatar that she has possessed.

I think there's some potential for the story to pick up later on, but as an early review for the currently translated chapters, the start is weaker than it could have been. <<less
