She was originally the young miss of the Marquis Estate, but became a peasant girl due to a mixed-up at birth.

With great difficulty, she grew up into a delicate beauty, but no one wanted to marry her.

Rumors said she was ugly and was born a fool, and that she was a star of disaster that brought about the tragedy of her parents.

However, the husband she picked up midway was the future Grand Secretary.

The little monk she adopted from up the mountain was the future Godly General of the six states.

Even the elderly woman she saved in passing turned out to be the Empress Dowager.

A certain man said viciously, “Wife, who dares to bully you? This husband will end them for you!”

The Godly General said, “Big sister, no matter where you want to go in the territory of the six states, I’ll clear the path for you!”

The Empress Dowager said, “Did the Emperor bully Jiao Jiao? Wait here! Aijia will go dispose of him!”

I wanted to like this more but something about it just didn't draw me in. The fact I even finish the main story is basically done by sheer willpower.

All the characters are fine but for some reason I couldn't get attach to any one of them. The MC is fine, the ML is fine, the kid is nice, all the side character are good characters. They are all good but not great character is basically my take.

The MC is a mary sue. And having a mary sue do rob you... more>> away from plot development since mary sue has a naturally thick plot armor. For example,

Spoiler

mid-way in the story where the MC has a vision of rebellious husband of the grand princess, basically the sister of the emperor, where they will cripple her oldest brother (of her current identity), kill her other brother and grandfather, and she decided to embarked on a revenge path to kill all who's going to hurt her brother. She brute force her way into the evil guy's territory without a clear plan, fought against their elite fighter, "died" in the snow, and then miraculously miraculously stayed alive out in the cold in a weaken state and was saved by princess' husband who against his better judgment decided to take her back instead of letting her die there. Again this is with the knowledge she wreaking havoc in his territory. There was a very lame flimsy excuse as to why he decided to take her back but it was so unconvincing I didn't even remember it. And of course she was infected with plague the evil guy was trying to use against the emperor's foce and infected them instead. A wild series of plot development.

This is the point where you realize she didn't need any concrete plan or scheme to take on any challenges, she just need to go gun blazing and everything will fall into places naturally. Author just now made everything very low stake.

[collapse]

At that point is when I realized no matter what she did, everything will fall into place and goes her way. No matter what danger she's in, she come out unscathed. That's the problem with mary sue character, it robs you away so much of any potential gripping or high stake situation and turns it into a normal chance encounter. You are never concern about her safety or any surprise powerful villian appearing. I never again felt she is ever in any danger after that point.

And these transmigration type storyline, the interest and intrigue lies in their "golden finger", basically naturally cheat item or ability that only the MC can utilize. If done well these golden finger could be the most interesting point of the story. Unfortunately, the golden finger here is a bit boring and uninteresting. Here, the MC, has basically 1 cheat item and 1 cheat ability. Her cheat item is a medicine chest that can magically give her modern medicine, item, and device that can heal anyone at the point she needs it. A overuse cheat item and nothing special. And her cheat abilty is a her dream that can predict the future or a possible future which lets her identify and recognize upcoming villian character before they're exposed.

Again, these cheat item and skill, if done well could be very cool and interesting. Here it's mainly used in a way to save MC from having to come up with any serious investigation or clever way to tackle any problem or challenges. The medicine box is basically the reason why she's so reckless in facing any powerful character. She's basically always "i'll fight them head on and heal myself with any magical medicine that comes out of my box" against everyone and anyone. Never felt the need to lay low or hide herself. And the dream is her way to recognize and evil character or scheme before they're exposed. Like in the beginning she used it to save her husband, the ML, several time. How? The dream basically show the exact time and method people used to hurt him. Nothing new here, a common plot device for these type of story. It doesn't bother me that author use these, just that I find it a bit boring.

So what's the major plus of this story.

  1. It is complete, the author do make an effort to complete the story and tie up all the loose end. Although whether I'm satisfy with the result is another thing.
  2. All the characters are likable. There are basically no annoying character. There's no cartoony villain characters that annoys the heck out of you.
  3. Most of the major characters has interesting background stories. Although I'm not particularly attached to any single character here, it is cool to learn about the background of different characters as the story progresses.
There these are my initial hot take. Again, I think it could've been great had the story been developed better. As of now, it's basically a story I'll completely forget after a few weeks. Leaving a review here will help me remember what this story is about. <<less

I love this story.

The plot, the MCs, the side characters, even the villains...I love them all.

MC was Mary Sue but she wasn't OP. She was a good doctor but there were some illnesses that she couldn't cure, especially the one related to ancient poison. She's also good at martial arts but she wasn't undefeatable. She often met with powerful enemies but still managed to save her life, thanks to her heroine halo.

ML wasn't the OP type either. He was a weak scholar that couldn't learn martial arts no matter how... more>> hard he tried but he was academically genius. If MC was proficient in military area then ML was proficient in political area. They really complimented each other.

And Jingkong... what a precious child you are. Please don't grow up too quickly. Although he was nominally MC and ML's adopted brother, in reality, he's actually their eldest son. Jingkong initially also wanted to be their child but at that time, MC and ML was still in battered and bruised condition from their traumatic past so they weren't in a good condition to raise a child.

Spoiler

MC grew up in a biased family who hated her existence while ML thought that he was abandoned by his parent. They also wasn't married for real and didn't have any feeling for each other yet.

[collapse]

However, they did what a parent did to their own child. MC gave Jingkong a warmth that a mother should give and ML teached him personally and never let him go astray. Although Jingkong seemed at odds with ML, he actually loved him very much and depended on him the most during his childhood time.

Spoiler

I almost burst into tears when Jingkong asked ML not to grow old in the extra.

[collapse]

Other characters were also very likeable. They managed to stay exist even though MC often went far away from home.

The story itself also successfully got me hooked till the end. Although in the beginning, I also got frustrated because MC often hid her own achievement and gave a chance for a villain to take her credit but I also could understand her thought a bit.

Spoiler

She didn't think that it's an achievement because she knew that it wasn't her own invention in the first place. Although maybe it was novel in ancient era, it's actually nothing in the modern era.

[collapse]

The ending was also perfect. The author managed to tie the loose ends and didn't forget even a minor character's ending which was quite rare for a novel with 1000++ chapters. <<less

Love this story very much! Has excitements, family love, betrayal, trust and loyalty. Lots of palace drama too.

Slow in romance between FL and ML that started with family love, caring, support and trust... Slowly turn into hots and passionate true love.

edit: I forgot to add stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Imagine almost every cliche plot for a female lead historical novel and then put them in one story.

Beginning with a transmigrated secret agent, whose talents include, but are not only; martial arts, assassination, cooking, medical skills, knowledge of advanced weaponry, technology such as metalworks etc oh and she naturally has a golden finger, in this case it is a medical kit that caters for her needs at any particular moment.

Then, her husband has a secret, but this time is not a secret general... more>> or Prince, but is very scholarly and may or may not be the illegitimate child of a noble household.

There's a whole swapped at birth added and the uncanny ability to meet many V.I.P's and get in their good books... sounds terribly OP, right?

And yet somehow, I am completely engaged (after getting over the early chapter's 'oh another secret agent OP female lead' moment). The characters, even the female lead, are engaging, there are too many funny moments, poking holes at the tropes and several times where I am desperate to know what happens next, but fortunately as it updates pretty much everyday, I am not waiting too long.

I think the female lead manages to become likeable due to her interactions with close family and friends and indifference about others. It's not so much the don't bother her, she wont bother you, but rue the day you poke the wasp nest more that your tricks against her are not worthy of her attention. However, try to hurt a family member, she won't necessarily kill you, but she might make you want to die. But she's also not so vengeful that she'll never let you ever go or anything.

But it's the comedy value that cuts through randomly when it's unexpected that's the real gem for me. <<less

This was so good, I'm quite an impatient person so to say that I finished a thousand chapters of noble and do note that I never skipped even one chapter, I even read the authors note sometimes but due to the poor translation sometimes its better not to read it lol.

All the characters have their own idea you won't mix them up because thet really all do have their own personas and all of them has someone who can make them tongue tied which was really funny. All the kids... more>> grew up so well. Well I'm quiet curious about one of the kids that was at the marriageable age not gonna mention the name since it will be a spoiler. It was quiet an open idea if they got married with their childhood friend or not, though I think they did since they did whisper that their meeting their parents to the friend 🤔

One of the kids didn't really show up much. But all in all its a good ending. <<less
