Nagase Tsukasa, born into a prestigious family of modern-day wizards, had immense magic power from birth but could only use magic to strengthen his physical abilities. Resigned to the fact that he couldn’t become a proper wizard, Tsukasa decided to live an ordinary life as a regular person.

However, Tsukasa wasn’t particularly bright. When applying for high school he aimed low and took the entrance exam for a backup school, but he slacked off and played around too much, resulting in him failing the exam and becoming a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training).

As Tsukasa awkwardly navigated his way through the new school year, he accidentally ended up wearing a cursed bracelet that would kill him if left alone. The curse was so powerful that even his mother, a skilled curse breaker, couldn’t lift it. To remove the bracelet he had two options; cut off his arm, or use his immense magic power to break the curse. Thus Tsukasa enrolled in a modern magic academy in a parallel world to learn the curse-breaking magic he needed.

And so began Tsukasa’s carefree school life, where his only talents were his magic power and martial arts skills.

Honestly a really fun read. The MC is like a mix of Luffy and Kazuma from Konosuba. He's got the musclehead of Luffy, but the snark of Kazuma (and not pe*verted)

the humor itself is on point, again, reminding me of Konosuba like humor. Characters around the MC are also pretty fun, especially interactions with not just the MC but with each other as well.

What a hidden gem. The dialogue is so much fun to read, it's like actual humans talking; there's banter and wit and comedy. I've been reading so many average Narou novels with wooden NPC-like dialogue that I forgot what that's like.

Don't be turned off by the title or summary; it just basically means MC is the street smart type, not the book smart type. The cast are all likeable, and the use of "other world" setting is fresh to me. I'm already sad that there's only 130 chapters to look... more>> forward to.

Side note: What's happened with this site's rating system? It used to be that it was quite in line with my opinions but now I find it completely untrustworthy. Everything is around 3.x/5 <<less

I’ve read up to chapter 50. First of all, the translation is well done, and the content is quite engaging. The novel uses real-world witch hunts as a premise to create a parallel magical world, which works effectively—even though by this point the overall picture remains somewhat vague, offering only general hints (with promising developments anticipated in the future). The main character, a young boy, comes off as a bit foolish, yet his humorous moments make his personality endearingly quirky. He isn’t overpowered; his strength stems from enhanced physical abilities... more>> and the martial arts he’s been learning since childhood. The interactions among the characters are lively and well-drawn—they each have their own logic and mannerisms. The pacing is leisurely, echoing the rhythms of everyday life. Overall, up to chapter 50, this is a gently entertaining series. <<less
