Cute story! Worth a try, it’s only 18 chapters anyway so make sure to read!

Great to read too after reading angst or drama.

Blurb makes it sound like the leadup to a plotless p*rno, which couldn't be more wrong. This story is sweet, a little steamy, with a roguish MC and an intially ice-cold (but SUPER into it) ML. No huge conflicts or misunderstandings, just two people that seized an opportunity and developed a loving relationship since.

There's a brief conflict in the latter third of the story, and a "twist" that's pretty obvious from the first chapter, but they're all in service of telling a good story. Also, the event does happen, but... more>> later, not as a catalyzing event.

ML has some psychological issues, but they're presented as part of him but not defining him, which I think is nice. Also, while MC is rough and a little shameless, especially in the beginning, he never does any non-con stuff or tries to take advantage of the ML (aside from the rent freeloading lol). He's just very direct about what he wants.

I also like that while his tight financial situation is definitely a real factor, it's not a crushing psychological pressure on him. He has a strong mindset and he and ML are very complimentary. They're also very into eachother and not afraid to show it. While I enjoy stories with angst and couples who yearn but doesn't know where they stand, it's nice to just read about two people giddy in love and just willing to ask for the affection they want.

It was so sweet, the description is kinda misleading. It's actually a slice of life story of basically mutual salvation. Almost no angst (in the present, at least). Highly recommend as a fast read if you want something calm and positive.

Perfect if you want a sweet story. The MC does start out a bit rough but has his own morals and isn't necessarily a bad person, plus he turns into a sweet doting character part way through (though that is a bit abrupt it's a short story so not a ton of time to develope the characters) the ML does have some family problems as well as mental health problems but it isn't very touched on so there is very little drama. Sweet and cute. Not perfect, but still pretty good and a fairly quick read. The fluff is very sweet. There's a little bit of serious and sad family drama-- not enough to take over the story, but just enough to progress the relationship between the two characters.

I like that the MC became a better person towards the end, but it did kind of feel like it came out of left field. I like danmei where the characters are ok with being middle-class, so I was kind of sad to see the MC change jobs (but also, good for him lol). <<less

Heartwarming novel. The ML's silent enduring love for the MC through the years is so touching. I want that kind of love too...

it’s cute and worth a read! I loved every characters except for MC’s family especially the brother. I wished I could do to him what he’d done to MC.
